So we ordered a few things and they tasted great but I'm not sure if I could come back based on the quality of the meats used. Firstly the chicken satay were chicken mince which was ok however I would have preferred chicken pieces as a whole. We also ordered the beef randang again the flavours were great but the quality of the beef was just poor. The chicken roti chani seemed like they were frozen shan parathas used as part of the dish. Also ordered a chicken Hainanese unfortunately nothing special. However the chicken noodles tasted great. It is a shame as I do not understand what the social media hype associated with this venue is about as the food does not live up to expectations.

Been to Rasa Sayang a couple of times and food is consistently decent. The beef noodles are really nice and the roti canai with chicken is delicious but the chicken is on a bone which, in a curry in a small bowl, makes it rather difficult to eat. The Char Kway Teow is also nice and the Chargrilled Tiger Prawns were quite dry and not very flavourful. Prices decent and service efficient.

Great authentic dishes that bring back memories of Malaysia! Very efficient + friendly service too. Everything was great (nasi lemak, Mee Goreng, roti Canai) except the fried tempeh which was drenched in a very sweet, ketchupy sauce.

Went here after so long. I used to go here with my friends years ago and it was awesome. And it's still awesome! Had a Singaporean food fiesta, £29.95 per person (min 2 people). Had king prawn, hainese chicken, crab and other stuff. We ordered morning glory separately. As usual the food was good. The main menu is average around above £10+ (but that's London for you). The staff were very nice. Took a while to get served because it was quite crowded.

Authentic Malaysian food in the heart of London! Great service, the staff are very friendly. The food is amazing, very tasty and the portion size is very good. Very good value for money. It can get very busy so I recommend that you book in advance.

Buzzing place, you know the food is good when the regional people are eating there, spoke to some lovely malaysian people. My utmost respect to the cooks and service staff as they went above and beyond. Would have liked more help when ordering the food, like a mix of dishes not much in the way of balance when our food came. Our own fault but perhaps preventative.

Loved my time here. It is a beautiful South East Asian restaurant, serving mostly typically Malaysian cuisine, which has various influences that reflect into an all-inclusive menu. Really enjoyable with a great atmosphere. However, above all, the food was the best ever!

Banging Indonesian. Definitely busting. The staff were friendly and the food was freshly cooked. The price was very affordable for the food. I would definitely recommend anyone that loves Asian food to try this. Make sure you get the black pepper rib eye steak.

Tasty, tasty, tasty 😋 😋 😋. Good wholesome food with fantastic flavours. It’s something a bit different from the usual Indian and Chinese restaurants in the area. Service is quick and efficient, but you may have to wait in line for a table. Highly recommended.

I waited about 15 minutes on busy dinner hour. It is a very busy restaurant. There was a long line on the rainy and cold night probably people don’t mind the rainy weather in London:) I was willing to take any seats so I got in a little early. I ordered Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, and Roti small plate. They are all very delicious and way better than the ones I had in New York City. They are smoky and have strong taste like salty and seasonings. I would definitely want to go back to London for this!

If you come alone then you might be seated sooner than groups. There’s always a queue in front so please be patient, it moves quite fast. Food is always great and served within 15-20min. I’ve been here a few times already. Price is okay for me considering the portion and quality of ingredients, always fresh. Payment via card. My favourite is the curry laksa. Atmosphere is very busy and noisy though but i don’t mind since the food is great xx

Wow Rasa has definitely up their game...haven't been here for a couple of years, but decor is fresh and huge improvements on facilities. The food now is on another level! So happy remembered to order Roti - best we've had for a long time! We prefer it thin and flaky, so might not be for everyone but definitely one of the best in the UK. Laksa is so addictive, and portion so generous we were happy they let us take it home. Service is amazing, compared to others in the Chinatown area where brusqueness is almost expected 😁. We were warmly welcomed from the start by a lovely gentleman, sorry didn't get his name. The younger staff were equally cheerful and very helpful. Can't wait to go back.

Really busy restaurant, had to wait in line for 15/20 minutes for table of 5. Service was good. Ordered few different items, laksa was very fishy tasting, I felt the nasi goreng was quite plain, rendang was really flavoursome, prawns and wings in the mixed platter were probably the highlight! Overall good food, more authentic tasting than other Malaysian restaurants. Little bit expensive but expected for central location.

Authentic and delicious Malaysian and Singaporean food here! The restaurant does get crowded so prepare to wait in line. The roti canai was superb and a must order. I liked the char kway teow and the hainan chicken rice was okay but was more Malaysian style than Singapore man. The chili shrimp was mediocre but we liked the teh (hot tea) here.

I came here to try Malaysian food for the first time. I was not disappointed! Freshly made authentic Malaysian food which was packed with flavour. Service was lovely. We didn’t have to wait for a table. The prices were very reasonable considering the Chinatown location. It was easily accessible via public transport. I left with a full and happy tummy! I’ll definitely be coming back again to try more from the menu.

Excellent food served by incredible staff. It’s a nice option to have in Chinatown especially if someone in your group eats Halal foods. I’ve been coming here for three to four years. The food and the Staff are always good.

Still good place. Been there a few years ago. Laksa was really tasty. Beef was a bit... too chewy, not sure if it was slow cooked. The curry and bread in the starter was absolutely amazing! I ended up dipping my chicken wings into the curry - so spicy but so tasty! Oh do try their milk tea, amazing.

Food so good we forgot to take photos! Recommend reserving ahead of visiting as there is a long queue always. Food comes out fast and service is very good. Homemade iced lemon tea reminds me of Asia. Beef randang was delicious. They ran out of crab which was disappoint as we weren’t told until we tried to order it. Definitely will be returning. Our friend was still talking about how good the the chicken broth was the next day!

A really nice place close to Picadilly Circus. We had to wait less than 5 mins to be seated. The atmosphere is good inside and very vibrant. The waiter was very kind in explaining the menu. I ordered the Beef randig and the Nasi goreng with chicken and the chicken curry with the roomali roti. The chicken satay comes with a tasty peanut sauce, only downside is I wish there were more peices. I would order all of those again. The portions could have been a little larger. The quality of the meat is ok, not entirely lean but I guess you get what you pay for. I didnt enjoy the roomali roti as it reminded me of a Shaan Paratha whereas the Jasmine rice was a lot more flavoursome. We ordered a mains each and side to share, on average costs £20pp without drinks. The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs seating so can accommodate a lot of people and service was pretty quick. Bonus was they offer student and NHS discounts!

overall: solid dishes that are decently priced (almost unheard of in london). perfect for groups of friends to share a range of big dishes. tip ❗️: they do get very busy on weekends, do make a reservation to avoid the long queues. keropok 🍟: crunchy peppery crackers to nibble on. hainanese chicken 🐔: moist poached boneless chicken dressed with savoury soy sauce, indeed a staple of singapore/ malaysian cuisine. chilli crab 🦀: rather than fiery spicy, the flavours are more similar to sweet chilli sauce. crab isn’t the easiest seafood to eat, but totally worth getting all messy while eating. the fried buns are also perfect to soak up all the goodness. salted egg prawns 🍤: MVP of the meal. springy prawns coated generously with an addictive layer of savoury salted eggs. choy sum 🥬: simple garlicy stir fry.

Must visit restaurant in London! The food is very authentic and super yummy! They are not shy with their species and seasoning. Char kway teow has the "burn wok" taste which is very hard to duplicate at home. The satay has been marinated adequately and good proportion of lean and fat meat. Every single dish that we ordered is so satisfying to our taste bud and tummy. Friendly and fast service. You will be sorry if you skip this restaurant!

Came here around 9.30pm after a few drinks in town. Luckily we didn't need to book but they said they stopped serving food at 10pm. Service we very fast and the food was really good. We all shared a nice selection of dishes. Great flavours would definitely come back again. Decent value was a round £20 per head with a beer.

Second time here - great halal food as always! The food is great value for money, amazing portions and taste. Would recommend for lunch/dinner with friends or family. As we went near closing time, they forgot about one of our orders, but this mistake was quickly rectified after asking.

Super busy but they’re quick to serve you and you’re seated in no time (my friend and I had a reservation). The food was absolutely delicious, spicy and flavourful. We enjoyed huge portion sizes in a buzzing atmosphere.

We booked ahead because we were aware of the long queue at the restaurant. They still gave us our seats even though we were late which we appreciated greatly. They had an allergen menu and were aware of allergies because we had someone in our group who was gluten free. We ordered roti canai and rendang which were delicious and authentic. Service was quick, definitely will come again.

Food was great, so much variety on the menu and all halal! Waiters were nice, fun and giving recommendations with enthusiasm. It does get busy but we were lucky to get a table from walking in.

Fried koay teow was poorly made. Too oily. It was cooked, not fried. No wok hei. As I come from penang in which all the best char koayvteow come from, the version at rasa sayang was totally not acceptable. The only good thing about the fried koay teow here was the large prawns. 1 star Nasi lemak was mediocre. Nothing special. Curry chicken was ok to eat but not great. Sambal was nothing to shout about. Anchovies, peanuts, and most importantly, the coconut milk rice didn't open our appetite. 1 star The signature beer was special. 2 stara Queue time was about 30 minutes during 8pm and serving within 15 minutes upon ordering.

Visited this restaurant twice already & very impressed with the food. It's now my go-to place to satisfy my southeast asian cravings! Each serving is a blast of flavours plus they're really big and worth every penny. One thing I love is that the seasoning wasn't tamed down for the British palate, it is how I remembered it while I was in Asia.

Food was one of the best I have had. The slow cooked beed was my favourite! Price is really good for the portion you get also so it is well worth your money.

Great food! Chicken wings really bland and the chicken that came with the rice had no flavour. But otherwise everything was really tasty. Lovely beef rendang and starters. Really flavoursome rice. Good-sized portions too.

People have known since ancient times that autumn is a good season to eat crabs, as an old Chinese proverb goes, "When the autumn breeze rises, the crab's feet itch; when the chrysanthemum blossoms, the crab comes." Autumn is the best time of year for crabs to grow because their flesh is thick, tender, and delicious. To get the best Singapore spicy crab, I came to this well-known restaurant, Rasa Sayang, which has long been popular on Chinese social media. I was surprised to discover that, in addition to the spicy crab, the Hainanese chicken rice, crispy sambar fish, Malay braised beef, and salted egg yolk fried shrimp are all delicious. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here a few times, for the price you pay you are well fed and the roti cannai is one of the best and the veg dishes were different, give it a go!We came in large group to celebrate a birthday and they kindly accommodated in a booth type space but they only have one available so pre book! This is not a place for fine dinning but if you want good food and a place just to hang out and dress how you please, this would be it. Our waitress Alice was wonderful and prior visit the other waitress with very short hair was also amazing. The reason I’ve given it 5 is because you get you pay for and a good variety to choose from and it’s pretty tasty.

  • 4/5 Lizzie C. 5 months ago on Google
The roti canai was delicious (although overly crispy and the chicken curry overly spicy, thus hiding the good flavour), while the Singaporean laksa was missing flavour complexity, it was mainly sambal (red oil on top) and missing the coconut and spices flavour. So overall, the laksa didn’t have much depth of flavour, it was kind of bland. Asides from that, the service was good and I was seated in around 15 min (without a reservation). Perhaps other food tastes better.

Amazing renewed place with amazing food and stuff! We got Laksa soup, and it came to be SO big, creamy and full of seafood! We also ordered the first dessert, which looked and tasted incredibly. We have never tried Singaporean food, so really pleased with this experience. Definitely will come back to try cocktails.

First time trying Malaysian cuisine, and I have to say I was impressed. Everything was very well seasoned and flavourful. Service was fast and attentive and in general the restaurant had a laid back casual vibe. Although we enjoyed everything, some dishes are definitely not for everyone, so just have a look or ask. Other than that would go back in a heartbeat.

Love the almost authentic Malaysian cuisine here! Must try their nasi lemak and roti canai, the curry spice is just perfect for me. If you want to indulge in Malaysia cuisine please visit this place

Went on a Sunday evening so it was packed but we didn’t have to wait more than 10 mins for a table. But I recommend booking a table for weekends. Both the food and service were great! 🍛 I’ve always wanted to go here as I’ve seen great reviews and it definitely lived up to its hype! I highly recommend their Teh Tarik (I ordered cold but can also get it hot!), nasi lemak and roti canai with chicken curry!

My top restaurant to go in Chinatown despite numerous Chinese restaurants. The pricing and quality of food is so imbalanced, as in the quality is too good for its low pricing :) there were 4 EXTRA LARGE prawns inside a £16 Laksa (and TMI, I never liked eating Laksa, i guess it was because i haven’t had good Laksas until I had Rasa sayang’s) Chicken Wing and Teh Tarik are the thingd that I have to order everytime I go to Rasa Sayang. Salted egg prawns are so well fried with salted eggs wrapped around each prawn. Really recommend this restaurant and service and atmosphere are excellent as well💛will be back soon!

Tucked away in the heart of Chinatown, Rasa Sayang is a culinary delight. 10/10 for food, flavours and service. My friend and I sought shelter here from the rain and the food recommended by our server Raphael hit the spot. We shared a Grilled chicken satay and the Laksa. All in all soul food with incredible flavours. Definitely recommend.
