You think that people there should be highly professional..... think again Doctors they forget who you are or what your situation is . They forget to get your records ... you have to constantly reminding them of what they need to do .. it is like you are the doctor and they are the patient. I really don't recommend for anyone that needs professional services.

As I was sitting in the ER waiting as two staff members were talking about a battered woman who was very emotional. "Seems like you're getting all the winners tonight!" said a nurse to the other. Two guys from Cataldo said "I'll bet you $10 bucks she'll be back here again soon." I couldn't believe they would talk so loudly about other patients in front of patients! Security guard was way more concerned about taking selfies than assisting the woman. Super classy. I would recommend if you are able to go to a different ER.

This is the worst hospital and I really never like to complain. This hospital is actually SO bad, i'm stepping out of my comfort zone just to write this review. People need to know that the staff are unprofessional and rude. They treat a serious condition as if it's absolutely nothing. A serious life threatening problem and it's not a priority. I bet you could be dying and it would take 10 minutes for these people to even notice.

My illness was misdiagnosed when I went to this hospital. They put me on a huge amount of prescription antibiotics and painkillers and sent me home!! My condition worsened and I was too doped up to realize anything was wrong until I had medically induced vomiting and kidney failure!!!

This is a horrible place. Every time I make an appointment, its with a different doctor who doesn't individulize your care. They refuse to help and make you feel like the biggest piece of garbage. The front desk staff are all rude as hell and completly incompetant. The nurses have no idea where to begin explaining about vaccines and their side effects which is my fundemental right to know exaclty what is in my medicine. The nurse and their aids are extremely unfrofessional, and like to listen in the rooms while tge docor is with their patients. When I was a child, CHA was such a wonderful place but more recently, it conveys a capitolistic facade making you literally just a number and a paycheck. I went to my PCP for stomach and intestinal problems and it wasnt until 7 months later that I finally get to see the GI specialist who was another phony fraud usless liar. He found abosultely nothing wrong, but insisted i continue to see him once month. To me that screams "I want your money." They miss diagnosed my mother's ovarian cancer for 3 years resulting in to become stage 3. They also misdiagnosed another friend of mine who also had cancerous ovarian cycts. Do not go to CHA if you want quality health care.

I officially dropped Somerville Medical Center today as my OBGYN care provider because, after going through an emotional and painful miscarriage, I have been asked by the staff there "When are you due?" and "Do you know how far along you are?" on my last 2 follow-up visits. Obviously, this is a very difficult time for me, and I am not interested in re-hashing it to the staff during every visit!! It would be really beneficial if the staff responsible for my care could actually read my chart before attempting to care for me!!! I'm not sure if the staff there is too lazy, stupid, it just simply can't read charts, but I'm pretty certain that they're not going to read this. They seem to take little interest in their patients' well-being. But I hope I'm saving someone else from the pain and grief I just went through in dealing with this place.

All types of exams and consultations are carried out here, they have a laboratory and specialist doctor for all cases. Even with our schedule, we had to wait a little longer, but that's normal when you don't have a good agreement.

Stuck with a $1700 bill for an ER visit due to chest pains. I got an IV drip and now getting charged $1700 and the billing department won’t pick up my calls. This hospital takes part in predatory practice

I went to the ER a few times here an most of the time the people are super nice and comforting until I met Julie Devito. She literally doesn’t make you feel comfortable and you just get that vibe that she’s judging you. And I swear she was purposely trying to physically hurt me when she was checking me. (I’m not even kidding) When you’re in pain it really helps when the doctor comes in being super friendly, telling you it’ll be ok, maybe even calling you “sweetie” asking you how you feel etc. I was literally crying in pain like a baby and she could care less. Which, whatever she doesn’t have to actually “care” but at least fake it. You’re a doctor for crying out loud. Try making your patient feel a bit more at ease if they’re crying in major pain! She was super friendly to her co-workers but I seriously just got a bad vibe from her I can’t even explain. No thanks.

This is NOT a hospital. They no longer have an Emergency Room. They can't do any emergency medical procedures. It is an urgent care facility, a poor one at that. I went for a possible burst appendix, they had me wait after checking me in for over a half hour, then told me they can't do anything, and I'd need to go to the "real hospital". I'm now in an uber heading to Cambridge Hospital while in serious pain with a potentially burst appendix experiencing symptoms. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR REAL MEDICAL CARE. It should not be called "hospital", this needs to be labelled as an urgent care clinic in both physical signage and online. Hopefully the 2 hours I've now wasted in waiting in travel time and in the waiting room hasn't pushed me further towards sepsis.

Ok. So I had a doctor's appointment here and the parking policy up front is FREE for 0 to 30 minutes. 31 minutes to an hour is $5. I was in my appointment for a few extra minutes and parked there for a few minutes extra and the attendant was ready to collect my $5, chasing me down. Maybe some manners? He felt like the parking police. Or maybe there could be a better system with a gate. I really don't see the point of such a stringent patient parking policy when there is open parking. I'm already paying for my visit.

My mother was taken to this hospital to the emergency center. Due to the pandemic they told us only one person would be admitted. They had me wait in a chair by the doors not letting me in at all. The security person gave me a number to call the emergency nursing station to get an update. Waiting three hours and have called three times with still no information. Meanwhile my aging mother is alone with no one by her side. I think this is a terrible way to handle emergencies. I feel like the pandemic has been here long enough for this hospital to figure out how to handle themselves better.

The parking situation. My mom drove me to my appointment due to the fact I was getting my eyes checked. So she sat in her car the parking attendant made her pay the $5 because she sat in her car waiting for me. Like really your going to charge a elderly woman for #1 being safe by staying in the car #2 charge her to wait I could see if the parking lot was busy but it wasn’t, the attendant was rude. Very rude.

Two days in a row trying to reach the dermatology office. "please remain on the line" message has been playing for more than an hour with no one picking up. One time it went to the voicemail, left the message with no one calling me back. Try to speak to the operator and a person in medical specialty, no one can help and it punches you through to the same line where you stay for multiple hours with no response. Operator's response to an issue "They should be there. Probably too many people are calling" I understand that happening with the PCP office due to COVID 19, but dermatology office???? A person will die before getting any service at this hospital.

I was in the waiting room with pain of 6 at first it got so bad I cried and told the lady up front that I have seen 20 people come after me go ahead of me. Her answer to that was oh well I don’t know why the person for the ultrasound didn’t show up and you are free to go anywhere else. I waited some more and more people went ahead of me and I decided to leave and as I was walking I almost fell and no one asked to help or come running just dirty looks from everyone.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are soo unprofessional, why is the social worker Amanda talking to my daughter saying she can’t go into a grow home because she’s too aggressive. Amanda called dss on me saying she hasn’t reached me which is a lie I talked to her before she called them. Amanda is a racist and she keeps trying to get my daughter locked up!! I contacted Human Resources twice and never got a response. They don’t care who they hire and they hire anybody. If you want your child to seek proper help go anywhere but here because they aren’t interested in helping any kids. I already reported them to NAACP!!

It is deeply sad but also unsurprising that this hospital is responsible for a woman's death right outside its doors due to inadequate service and signage. A maze and a ghost town where you have to wait 6 months for an appointment at their WHC. I love my primary CHA office at another location but will find my specialists elsewhere. At least it looks clean -- I got a good self-guided tour of all three buildings during my 30 minutes of unassisted wandering.

Kinda, Caring and Understanding Staff but they have no clue that needless vaccine injectiors exist at the same price it costs to buy the painful needles they use and tend to push way too far into the arm and misuse the numbing spray to point it has the opposite effect

If you had a test done there, forget about getting your results back, they let me wait 3 months after I have done my test to let me know the device was defective and I had to do the test again, 3 months where I am anxiously waiting for a response with very low quality of life, I am waiting again for the results and hoping the device isn't defective again, am I going to wait another 3 months in agony? no one responds to the phone either.

Wait times are 3-4 months out for most specialties. It's lovely to experience the wait times typical of a country with socialized medicine paired with the costs of an extractive capitalist dystopia.

So nice to have an attentive and fast ER in Somerville. I loved my short experience there, which thankfully turned out to be just an inflammation and nothing serious. Everyone was nice and one of the RNs even nerded out with me about Star Wars. They made me feel comfortable, safe and well taken care of.

This review is for the pediatry department..... I had ingrown toe nails on each big toe. I first see the resident who examines me and he tells me he is going to do the surgery then has me sign a paper..... I said hmmmm I think I would rather the doctor do it. He casually tells me "no its fine I've done about a hundred of them" so I said "ok, its fine I guess". He explains he is going to do two shots of novacaine in each big toe. He does the first shot and hits a nerve and plunges the entire solution in immediately!!! I yelled a little bit in pain!..... I said "sry you definitely hit a nerve that's why I yelled" I said nothing about the fact that he empties the plunger in less then a second and my town looked like a baloon! So he does the second injection on same toe. This time I look away and it literally feels like he stick the needle through the front bottom base of my toe and it went all the way through and out the back of my toe!!!! I let out a scream in agony so loud I'm sure the whole floor heard me!!!! I said to him wow!!! That felt like you impaled my toe!!!! The resident then says I don't think your a good candidate for this!!!?????( Can you believe this?) He then leaves toto bring in Dr.theodoulou... while he was gone I checked the back of my toe and sure enough!!!!!... He impaled my toe! with the 10 guauge needle? I'm guessing? Then Dr. T comes in and does the other toe to which I felt almost no pain at all!!!!!..... Then Dr T leaves and the resident starts to tell me he is beginning the surgery!?!? I said "no, I don't want you doing it" he leaves and comes back and says the Dr said he wants me to do it..... So I literally argue with the kid for a few minutes I even said "as a patient aren't I entitled to have the Dr do it instead of a resident!?" He says we'll no because Dr. T says he wants me to do it so I said well you know what I'm done then I'm going to just leave..... The young male Asian resident leaves and comes back with Dr.T who is a great and funny doc who does the surgery and does a great job the whole time while teaching the resident..... Wow beware of the chief resident male Asian in pediatry!!!!! Serious plz beware folks!!!!!!!!

After many horrible experiences, I never thought I'd be able to trust a hospital (and especially an ER) ever again. But that all changed when I was brought to the Somerville hospital ER with severe abdominal pain (turned out to be appendicitis AND an ovarian cyst). I was on my period at the time and I was so scared they were going to dismiss it as cramps. When I mentioned I had endometriosis, for the first time ever since I was diagnosed the staff knew what I was talking about. And when I would describe my pain they didn't take it lightly, telling me "well since we know you have a high pain tolerance from the endo...." I have always been patronized every time I have been in pain...it was so refreshing to be taken seriously. I am also 23 and look at lot younger and have gotten used to being treated like a child by doctors. Not here. Everything I told then was taken seriously. They answered all my questions. They regularly checked in on me and I felt genuinely cared about. They also put my IV in one try with no poking around or pain despite the fact that I have really difficult veins to find which I was so grateful for because I hate needles. (The last hospital I went to back in my hometown 5 different nurses tried to put in my IV and they eventually put it in my hand....NOT FUN) anyways this place was wonderful.

Somerville Primary Care--A+++ Great staff! Best medical care I've ever had! Somerville Hospital Campus--a few problems, such as the long uphill climb to the ER--really not so great if you're on foot with an actual medical emergency. Other than that, no problems. Very glad Somerville Hospital is there!

Giving this location one star only because all of the CHA physicians I have seen, including the ones at this location, were very friendly and knowledgeable, and the facility was very clean. Unfortunately, CHA's billing practices are highly unethical and predatory. Long story short: do not go to this location or use CHA at all if you want to be charged thousands of dollars (even if you have private insurance). I was referred to go to this urgent care for post-exposure rabies shots because my PCP told me they didn’t have appointment availability for over a month due to staffing issues. I was told by both front desk staff and the physicians I saw in my initial visit that it would be cheaper to receive shots at that location as it would be classified as an urgent care rather than an ER. That turned out to be the opposite of the truth. All of the bills I am receiving (because I had to visit this location four times for all the shots in the series) are labeled as hospital services by CHA despite this location being labeled by an urgent care. My total out of pocket looks like it will amount to over $3k after insurance (once I finish receiving all of the bills). Going to an ER would have been cheaper, and the CHA billing department has been less than helpful. Save yourself from a huge financial burden and headaches of trying to unsuccessfully negotiate with billing departments by not even going near CHA.

I went to the urgent care (thought they had an actual emergency room) about a week and a half ago for a deep cut in the middle of my hand from cooking- the doctor there gave me a few stitches, I came back a week later to get the stitches out and explained I had numbness in my finger. He said that was normal and to not do anything and the feeling would come back in a month or so. Luckily ran into a surgeon over the weekend and he told me that the numbness is NOT normal. I saw a hand surgeon today and have to get surgery TOMORROW and thank god I came into get it looked at because it could cause even more damage if I didn’t have surgery soon. DO NOT GO HERE.
