Keep in mind I was here *voluntarily*…..If you care about your child or loved ones, keep them away from this facility at all costs. This facility needs to be shut down immediately. Patients are getting high and self harming right in-front of staff’s eyes!!!!! Extremely traumatizing…..There are no clinicians and no therapy happening at here at all. I met with a Doctor and Social Worker one time during my entire stay… “Discharging planing” yeah ok where? The social worker was absolutely useless. Groups are virtually non existent and the food is not edible. Floor staff is miserable and it shows! Some of the staff truly try their hardest to make an impact but the facility as a whole diminishes any chance of real change taking place…. run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

With all due respect to the professionals within the program (whom I never got the chance to meet, but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that they are successful in their field), the individuals responsible for intake lack the most basic level of compassion or willingness to help someone who very obviously cannot help themself feel confident in their treatment. In retrospect, I have to laugh that 2 medical institutions referred me to Arbor for primary care, as I doubt they know that their referrals are greeted with dismissive, curt, and vague explanations of Arbor's services, and that ongoing demoralizing treatment of patients as little more than an inconvenience runs rampant among Arbor's gatekeepers (who essentially serve as company ambassadors). Not one person at Arbor was willing to assist me in answering my questions, and in one case I was mocked on the phone for explaining why I was confused for what I was signing up for (after initially being told I was signing up for a 5-day program, and then told last minute it had a minimum of 10 days required participation, thereby burdening me with having to ask for a leave of absence from my job). Painfully unprofessional decorum across the board at Arbor; it's a shame that there are people's lives and wellbeing on the line, and those individuals are left few alternative options than to beg for help from an institution as insensitive and careless as this one. You can download mobile self-help apps with more compassion and professional merit than Arbor.

I spent four weeks in the GAP PHP program at HRI Hospital via telehealth. The option for telehealth was extremely helpful for me as it allowed me to continue my children's normal routine. The clinicians in groups were very knowledgeable and most encouraged interaction from both the virtual and in person members; however, some did a poor job of this especially one of the women who never stated her name at the beginning of the group. People would have their hands raised for extended periods of time without being acknowledged while in person members actively participated. Meeting with the nurse practitioner twice a week was extremely helpful. He helped me manage some side effects and also helped make a minor medication adjustment. I also met with an individual clinician during my time in the GAP program. This was great except at some stretches I went nearly 2 weeks without seeing him. I also wish there was more discharge planning support from the individual clinician in the days leading up to discharge including a formal discharge plan as I have received in the past from other programs. Overall it was a positive experience.

The doctors meet with inpatients for about 0-5 minutes per a day. There were days that I did not see the doctor, even after requesting multiple times. The facility as a whole is corrupt, and money-seeking. I do not suggest going here unless you plan on staying for 2-3 weeks.

Arbor hospitals are notorious for being the worst psych hospitals in Boston. Patients and staff don’t want to be here. The ceo walks around the place without a care. making millions, while profiting off of poor black and brown people. The management should be ashamed running this place. The nurses are some of the nastiest and rudest you’ll ever meet. Could care less about pts. The food here is prison level, unhealthy and gross. The mental health workers and social workers can be very helpful. They try their best and likely don’t get paid much. Expect them to charge ur insurance up the wall, retraumatize u and do nothing but stay in bed.

3* for inpatient. Was 5 * for outpatient therapy groups (they do DB Therapy) till they Discharged me today after I had a relapse.Claiming it was " lack of attendance" due to insurance. I TOLD them I wouldn't be there Friday, and I missed today ( Monday) bc of issues last night. But I. Anyway WAY TO REALLY HELP someone in beginning recovery, by kicking them out of programs. Then you have to wait a month b4 u can go back. Wf?!

Interesting to see this place hasn’t changed since I was there many many years ago. This program is downright dangerous for any at risk adolescent, particularly female BIPOC. Avoid it at all cost

The Arbor GAP partial hospitalization program is a great fit for individuals who are having mental health issues but do not need an inpatient hospitalization. My experience has been very positive. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and supportive. My clinician and prescribing physician are very kind and caring. I feel very grateful to be part of this program.

My aunt was dealing with anxiety and depression due to loss of her husband. She was recommended by a friend to look into General Adult partial program at HRI. The process for her to enroll was very easy and painless. Initially she was very skeptical about the group sessions. But after a couple of days, we started to notice change in her for good. She is much better now. She was happy that she was able to go to HRI for her sessions instead of virtual sessions. The only complaint she had was parking.

My daughter was inpatient about 6 years ago before Covid . I had never heard of this hospital before . I thought it was decent but looks can be deceiving . If I could give Zero stars I would . The psychiatrist without my permission , because I am my child’s medical proxy overdosed my child to the point her eyes were rolling in the back of her head . I kid you not ! They would only let you see your child from 6-8pm . The clients were all in their rooms just melting. Away ! The staff did nothing to help the clients get better ! The psychiatrist Could’ve killed my daughter ! I happened to come by in the afternoon one day because I didn’t trust them . My child would not wake up . I was so scared i called the Brookline police . They came and told me I needed to go to court to get her out that day by a judges order . But it was to late and I had to leave but I sure got her out the next day , after the nurses lied and said she couldn’t be transfered to another hospital . I stood there until I saw the ambulance come and transport her to another great place . This place has or had other hospitals around Mass . Two clients have died . One killed another one in one of their hospitals and another client was overdosed by their medical team . This is no lie , channel 4 in Boston did a big story on this place that’s what I had read on social media . Once I read that I knew I needed to get my child out safely . I can not believe the state hasn’t closed them down yet !!

Absolutely unresponsive, uncaring and unprofessional staff from the telephone operators to the clinicians to the drug pushing doctors! It’s a big mistake to send anyone you love to this hospital! if anything your loved ones will only get worse in there dismal environment!there’s no accountability and no culpability these people are sick they oughta shut this hospital down! if we lived in a sane world it would have already been closed and the moronic doctors and administrators jailed!

Two years ago I was hospitalized after the passing of my mother. After my hospitalization (At McLean) I was required to complete a group outpatient program at HRI via zoom. Nearly every session had a different counselor that ran it. Fine, I could look past that I guess. But it did make it way less personal. The turning point for me was when they told us that there was a security breach and our information was leaked. That is when I immediately hung up the call and notified the person that I would not be continuing because I was extremely uncomfortable. I already felt vulnerable being in a group, and now my information was leaked? Absolutely not. Unacceptable and frankly I think I should have taken legal action. BUT WAIT IT DOESN'T STOP THERE!! I just received a voicemail from someone there checking in for a safety check because apparently I didn’t show up for tonight’s group (mind you… it’s been TWO years). How is a mental health company so disconnected from their patients to think that I’ve been attending groups? How could they still have my information and it’s just laying around for them to call me on the phone? This is personal information that should have been removed after discharging, or at least saved in a safe place so not some random woman who doesn’t even know that I have not been in a session for two years calls me??? This should not be a hospital and I will advise anyone who attends this place for services to go elsewhere. I will be looking into legal actions now.

I have been in program twice now and both have been a positive experience. I learned so much about myself while engaging in conversations to help me grown. The clinicians are always so supportive allowing the most optimal recovery for your treatment goal(s). Honestly, I know nothing about the hospital itself, but the clinicians and group leaders are top notch!!

Wouldn't send my enemy here. Communication and services were completely disorganized and stressful, staff not educated or trained well, met many unfriendly staff, facilities were dingy and neglected. Food was terrible and very limited, bad for people on special diets. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Good. Changed since COVID times. Rules seen too relaxed- coming late for session, leaving and returning same session, phones not silenced, talking over others, are all small annoyances that interrupt the flow of the session. To enough time to share after presentation of session content. Clinicians are generally well versed on content they are presenting. The psychiatrist, whom I have seen 3 times, asks 2 questions: “How are you?” and “is there anything I can do for you?” and then ends the conversation. I've yet to see any value. The program is ok for what you can glean from the presentations.

Very impressed with how fast the team was able to take me into the program. Clinicians / group leaders are very kind and informative. After my first day of groups I already started feeling better. Also very impressed with the NP and medication management approach.

The General Adult program was great! George, our therapist, was brilliant. The group set up is very helpful, being around people who have gone through the same issues as you have or possibly worse and their experiences with how to cope with things. The building is old and the air circulation in those sessions is not the greatest. Also, parking situation is not good. If you can catch the T Green line, from Babcock station to the hospital it's like 1 minute walk. I highly recommend the T for transportation. Also I highly recommend the General Adult program at hri hospital. I hope this was helpful.

I would like to start this review by saying two things: 1) Keep an open mind and 2) Disregard most of the 1 star reviews listed below. To add credibility to what I am saying, I am a fourth year student at a renowned institution for healthcare in Boston. HRI Hospital truly guided me towards getting the help I needed when I went through some troubled times lately. Through a combination of proven methods and techniques, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and appropriate medications, I was discharged from HRI with the courage to do anything I set my mind to. The staff were very knowledgeable yet compassionate. All of them, including the Social Workers, Mental Health Workers, and Psychiatrists, really devote their lives to helping patients get better. One psychiatrist in particular was extremely helpful (and happens to have a nice taste in clothes and watches, although that is an aside). As another aside, the meals provided at HRI are warm, delicious, healthy, and served at regular times. Long story short, I would once again like to reiterate: please keep an open mind about HRI and the negative reviews listed below mine. Consider coming here if you need help or guidance.

Note that I entered HRI *wanting* to be there. HRI is focused on getting people safe, and probably medicated/unmedicated. If you are looking for a spa-setting, or a facility including intensive in-patient day-programs, this is not the place for you. What you will find is a dedicated staff who truly invest themselves in what they do in a safe environment. Pros: 1. Medication changes and 2 weeks post discharge meds 2. Monitoring before my meds changes, during and after. My meds were also explained well. 3. A friendly, reliable social worker who is now helping me with section-8 housing. 4. A post-discharge plan which actually makes sense, and again, I can ask my social worker any questions. 5. Food with vegetarian/vegan options which I liked (the French toast is really good, they make it fresh) 6. Great COVID-Safety, (except for below). Pre-screening required. Staff masks up, washes hands, checks on hand washing/temp/mask-wearing etc.... 7. As a member of the LGTBQ community, I felt welcome there. 8. The staff was *amazing.* Supportive, empathetic, attentive. 9. No cell phones/electronics (they provide headphones w/ radio) means more focus on getting better. 10. Loved some of the emotional skills groups. Cons: 1. The therapy groups are redundant after a while. 2. No scheduled therapy, only shorter talks with staff when requested. What I found worked out very well for me, it could for you, depending upon what you are expecting.

Have fun trying to chase unresponsive people to get a intake even started 😂. Thank gosh my mood swings will kick the depression soon. Not worth the stress not sure why a crisis team would put me here.. Haven't even started and it's a mess *Update: Supposedly never received intake paperwork email and had two transfers to voicemails to find this out 20 mins before appointment. It's rescheduled else where. Save yourself a heart attack and just run from this place 🙏🙏🙏

My review is not a reflection of the triangle program or any of the staff there in. My review is the result of admin and tech support who refused to meet the required accommodations of everyone in our group. The person in question had to jump through several hoops, and received no support when they requested accommodations. It is so sad for someone to make an attempt to better themselves and not have them be able to participate.

I was impressed by the transparency of my group members, while maintaining privacy I was fortunate to experience the therapy conveniently from the privacy of my home. I did look forward to the intimacy and the engagement that each individual provided. The testimonies were unmatched and I can say I will take away new information and new ideas and will implement things gradually in my healing process. I will continue to work but as an introduction it was powerful, nothing is perfect but initiating the process with this group has been abundant & priceless. Each individual opened my eyes which help me allow myself to be apart of this community and honor myself.

I am about 3 months out of the Women's partial group, and it continues to influence and improve my life everyday. I went into the program with very little hope for myself and zero quality of life. I did not expect to be so moved by this experience. I learned so many coping mechanisms and strategies to manage my emotions, while also being in the company of amazing and supportive women. For the first time ever, I felt understood and recognized in my mental health struggles, and in turn learned to feel more compassion for myself. That being said, I would recommend this group for people who are ready and willing to do the work, and open to recognizing and changing maladaptive coping habits. It is really hard work but can be life changing if you participate and practice the lessons. I will be grateful for this program for the rest of my life, particularly to my clinician, Shannon.

If I could give 0 or negative stars I would. Went to the inpatient unit here all the way back in 2016 while in college. I was depressed and undiagnosed bipolar at the time. Never had s.i before until after I was admitted here. My roommate stole my pillow the first night and staff ignored me when I told them. One day while being weighed by staff I noticed they wrote the wrong number down. I tried to correct them and they looked at me like I was an idiot and still put the wrong number down. The discharge paperwork says to utilize the skills you learned in the hospital during a crisis....no skills were taught or learned except to stay quiet and try to survive. Terrible place that should be shut down.

Wonderful. I did the outpatient program that met 3 nights a week after work and I highly recommend it to anyone who might be on the fence. It can be scary admitting that you might need some extra support during a hard time; but you will be welcomed and comforted to know you’re not alone and have skilled clinicians running the groups. Thank you everyone!

Most of the negative reviews are from individuals who were in patient. I did the PHP out patient program and found the clinicians to be warm, caring, and extremely kind. It's five group therapies per day, which is intense, and the groups are large. It's not perfect, but it really helped me. I also met many wonderful people there.

my group was quite small, majority virtual so i found the material not quite suited for such a small group. however i still gained a lot from my time so far and feel like i have a new variety of coping skills and ways of looking at my own mental health.

So unprofessional, these people are in the wrong field cause they will only add trauma to your life quickly and with noone to assist. You only get voice-mail when looking for the director of the program. Shut down this business that does nothing for their community or consumers!

I came here to do a partial program. I have Medicare and Medicaid. After two days they tell me I have a $75 per day copay, which shouldn’t be the case because the Medicaid should be covering anything the Medicare doesn’t cover. So I tell them to re run my insurance through both insurances and I’ll come back to the program once they’ve figured it out, but honestly I don’t expect them to because this hospital is known to be terrible. I only come for the triangle program.

I wanted to give this hospital a better rating but I don't think I can. The first week and a half was an absolute nightmare with communication and medication- no one was listening to me, no one was checking in, and it took far too long to be medicated. Along with that, another group member kept bringing up Israel, to which I expressed concerns about my Palestinian friends. Their reaction? To mute me. To let the other member insult me and to silence me. Ever since, there's been silence from the clinicians, and i was misdiagnosed. So quite frankly I won't be returning to a place that supports genocide.

Wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, unsanitary unsafe & borderline demonic. IF YOU'RE A RECOVERING ADDICT OR AN ADDICT STAY AWAY, A PATIENT WAS ABLE TO SNEAK COKE IN TO THE UNIT ON SOUTH 2. Majority of mental health workers are misleading and unprofessional, don’t expect to have a conversation longer than three minutes with a doctor or psychiatrist here. They are understaffed and undertrained with an inability to control their unit. Violent patients were grouped together with passive ones, I didn’t pass a bowel movement in the five days there and couldn’t receive medical treatment no matter how much I begged. Mental health worker Boni has a tendency to act like an SS guard and treat the patients like prisoners. Carl has the nerve to misinform patients about the law and attempts to trap everyone by convincing and urging them to sign in voluntarily.don’t end up here because your rights will not be respected and you will only feel helpless.

I was in the Triangle program and it was one of the best forms of treatments I have received. The clinicians and patients were so incredible and supportive. I felt more understood, safe, and comfortable than I ever have. I highly recommend this program to any LGBTQ+ individuals seeking mental health treatment and a safe place to be out and vulnerable!
