I absolutely love this gym! There is always room to do my routine, never packed to the point where I have to wait for any space/machines. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! I truly feel comfortable working out here. Not to mention the amenities are awesome. Towels, pool, hot tub, sauna. I am in the best shape of my life because of the classes I take and tips I received from the trainers. This place is worth every penny!

It's been around 4 months since I joined the club. Friendly staff, clean and fully equipped gym, salted water swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Highly recommend CSC!

Definitely the best gym in the Boston area. The staff is amazing, knowledgable and always ready to help. They don't have every machine but all the equipment is in great condition and you can tell maintenance is done often. Salt water pool, steam room, sauna, and HOT TUB! Besides all that, the real plus is the atmosphere: the staff works hard to create a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, so everyone is nice. You can still get in the zone and do your thing, but it's a much nicer environment than most gyms I've been too. I had to change gyms because I moved to another part of Boston, and I miss CSC dearly!

This is the best gym I've ever been to - the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facilities, and the support of the trainers. I highly recommend it!

I love the place, group fitness classes and the facility itself are all very nice. However the staff there was SUPER unfriendly and rude. I loved going there for few weeks, but totally changed my opinion about this place after calling them for something and the attitude was totally unexpected. I called to change my membership from $79 regular membership to $900 personal training membership (3x week). Which I consulted about before even signing up. I talked with three employees from the club and they all said I could change my membership whenever I wanted to, there is a 4month commitment to the regular membership but it wouldn't matter if I changed to the personal training membership. However the front desk person kept telling me I am not allowed to change my membership because I didn't fulfill my 4months. She said I would have to keep my membership and purchase extra personal training sessions on top of the membership because I have to keep it for 4 months. I told them names of people I consulted about this but she said "You must have misheard her" which really threw me off- I did not mishear, I double checked and triple checked because I was interested in personal training from the beginning, and plus I am trying to pay more to the club and they are not letting me do it?????Anyways it turns out I was right, I am allowed to change my membership(of course, $79 vs. $900 duh) and not worry about the 4 month commitment I had with regular membership. BUT the front desk person DID NOT SAY a single apology, all the confusion, all the arguments, she didn't have the basic info she should have had; she was like, oh it seems I can do that, and I asked couple more questions afterwards but she sounded like she was so annoyed by that point and kept repeating the same thing she already told me and telling me to come to club on Monday and figure things out. Worst customer service experience, the person I talked to was super unfriendly and rude, almost made me NOT want to go to the club anymore.

Great facilities (and a nice pool) for a good price. Most importantly they refunded me very generously for several months of subscription when I mistakenly forgot to opt out of the post-COVID reactivation. After my horrific experiences with Boston Sports Club this was a very pleasant surprise! If I ever live in the neighborhood again I will gladly reopen my account with them. They take care of their customers, which is a rare quality in this industry imo

This is the first time I've ever been consistently motivated to stick with a training program long-term. It's because of the staff at CSC. They are friendly, professional, and make sure I have a training program customized for my needs. The facilities are always immaculate and comfortable. Instead of a big "corporate machine", it's small enough so I feel like it's "my gym". They greet everybody by name and create a warm and welcoming environment. I also like that there is a Physical Therapy practice on site! After an orthopedic surgery the Physical Therapist and a Personal Trainer worked collaboratively to maximize my recovery. It's a winning combination.

I'm someone who never joined a gym and this is a fantastic first experience. I was matched up with a personal trainer to show me workouts and the classes are both accessible and intense. Instructors do a great job modifying workouts for varying skill levels. I've only missed 3 days in the last 3 weeks and I don't plan on stopping. Staff are already helpful, honest, and friendly.

I have joined a lot of gyms over the past few years. I find myself dreading the thought of going and never stick to a solid routine. Ever since I joined Commonwealth I genuinely look forward to going to the gym everyday. (and that is saying a lot trust me, I have never been an extremely athletic person by any means). One of my favorite things are the great classes they offer. With your membership you have unlimited access to classes like booty barre, body pump, spinning and lots of other awesome options. All of the instructors are super upbeat and positive, and make you feel actually excited to be there. People of all levels excel in these classes and everyone seems to be very comfortable. There is really no intimidation factor whatsoever. I was nervous at first, but everyone has been beyond welcoming and helpful. With the structure of these classes, I find it so much easier to stick to a schedule. Instructors take the time to get to know you by name, and it really feels like they care if you come. Commonwealth is also extremely clean. From the second you walk in you really feel like you are getting what you pay for. They offer fresh towels at the front desk and the locker rooms are always spotless. Everyone has been so friendly and encouraging, I honestly can't say enough about how much I love this place. If you are going to spend money on a gym, trust me make it Commonwealth, you will not regret it one bit I promise!

They were not able to provide a guest pass or a trial period so I can try the gym. I've never heard of a gym that doesn't have a guest pass or a trail period. Seems like a bad policy for attracting customers. Certainly did not attract me.

Pros: Usually able to find machines, close to home Cons: Dog in training areas( dangerous for dog and human), aggressive emails, never ending constructions, weekly fire alarm kick-outs, rude trainers.

The variety of class timings and genres is great. The hours of the gym are as well. My non-profit discount is greatly appreciated. The cleanliness of the facilities is comforting and I always feel welcome.

I've spent my time at a lot of gyms, either attending or working, and I love the time I've spent at CSC! Staffers and members are friendly. The pool is a big plus, and the yoga classes were really well taught. I recommend this Allston gem to anyone wanting a well rounded gym experience.

Very well-equipped and well-maintained gym. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sizable powerlifting-friendly weight area, large salt water pool and anything else the fitness nerd could be looking for. Very large space, so it almost never feels crowded. Highly recommended.

I joined CSC - July. I had a personal trainer named Mikael Brown. He is a nice person and a trainer as well. He trained me and helped me for my work outs on base of my health conditions. I highly recommend if someone looking for personal trainer and work out. I am thankful of Mikael once for a lifetime because of him i was able to improve my health reports.
