This place has been overcrowded and is going downhill. A bunch of entitled and disrespectful teens that do not know how to use equipment or put the weights back. You will see 3-5 groups of people per bench making it impossible to use or get your workouts in timely and effectively. It does not matter what time of day you go. Weights are constantly being slammed and on 7/18 it felt like the air conditioning was not working. It was so muggy and humid I felt like I was going to pass out. Reduce your capacity. Set capacity limits. This is RIDICULOUS. The sanitation wipes on the weight floor were empty and I was needing to go to the station by the elevators to get cleaning supplies. The equipment overall needs a deep clean. Everything is sticky - especially all the peripherals for the cable machines. The locker rooms are a mess, men having conversations and standing fully naked. Towels are everywhere and it is in need of a deep clean. Itโ€™s really gross seeing hair just stacking in corners of the showers. This is not the Life Time I know and love. Memberships need to be reviewed and need to be capped. Itโ€™s not worth paying $200 a month for this kind of experience. Iโ€™ve brought up the issue to the front desk and nothing has been done. Your younger members need to either be either removed for bad etiquette or taught. This is not okay for a luxury gym. Itโ€™s looking very similar to a Crunch or Anytime Fitness. You need to have your staff walking the floors and flagging things down. Will will be leaving to Equinox soon.

Great gym with super friendly and accommodating staff. They have tons of options for classes and stuff and lots of different rooms for things like hot yoga and spin classes. They also have free wifi and a cafe so they really are striving to provide the whole experience. Their equipment is nice and well-kept and people are generally very courteous. Parking is free. I really miss the atrium mall but this place doesn't suck

I've been a LT member for many years and enjoy my personal body training sessions with Jen so much! Words can't say enough how amazing Jen is in spirit and in her work. I was very impressed with her passion, knowledge and professionalism. She made sure to consult with me about my life style, work/parenting schedule, goals, big why, workout routine and eating habits. She also asked about any body injury to ensure that she is aware of everything necessary for a successful outcome. Not only did I have a much better workout program, I came away from the sessions with a better understanding of how to take better care of myself. Jen understands the importance of details when it comes to body training and nutrition, which is why she is so effective at her job. She also enjoys acting as a resource to me for areas in which she is considered an expert. Her professionalism and desire to get the job done right make her the kind of asset that makes everyone around her better at what they do. I wholeheartedly would recommend Jen for any body training or nutrition coaching. She's that good!

The best gym in the town, clean and amazing service. I always enjoy my time there - nice classes, opening very early 4am and closing 12pm. Perfect in the early early morning or late nights after work. Nice quest policy. Super clean for some it may be little prices but overall experience with their service and club is spectacular. Worth the price service and experience. Life is short we should always enjoy a good gym membership quality is over quantity. My overall spa, jakuzi, personal training classes, steam room, Cold splash experience are all great. Fresh towels always clean, scales are accurate, good brand creams for faces, not the best razors . ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Great idea to bring some clients for friends or even family member with your monthly 2 passes. This is good for them to see if you will enjoy the club or want to join with your referral you may get some gifts too. Win win for everyone. :) Across from the big mall chestnut bill, in case you are hungry and need protein why not to go there for At least 5-6 great restaurant options jncludes. They do have big area for protein bars, shakes or even a bar. Parking is not a problem, indoor parking. Most of the employees are really happy and welcoming. If you have any issue in the locker room area, they do address it immediately. It is a big big plus. The con side is as I mentioned earlier - little prices this location compare to other MA life time athletics. Smaller but amazing location and more convenient for the people who live in greater BOSTON area.

What's there not to like? This place was super nice. You could tell they took cleanliness seriously. The cardio machines were new and nice. The difference was steam and sauna rooms, a perfect end to a hard workout. Oh, members here were nice too. They respected personal space!

The fact they donโ€™t offer free 1 day trial and have you pay $75 for the day to try before you commit is absurd. Whoever I spoke to on the phone about membership options was also not friendly/inviting at all and made me decide against this gym. Go to Equinox right down the street, this is definitely not worth it!

Everything is super clean, variety of equipment, and great class options- especially the pilates and barre classes. I would recommend taking any pilates class with Phoebe Liu, her classes are always super challenging but fun and she always does new things in her classes!

I love this gym! I'm not going to lie - I originally couldn't understand why this location would charge a premium to the other locations, but the space is just so nice, that I find myself spending hours here, even after I'm done working out. It's such a nice space to not just workout, but also to sit and get some work done. The staff is all so friendly, and I love that there's covered parking on those snowy, winter days!

I used to be an equinox member pre-COVID bc they had gyms in the city, but you donโ€™t get the outdoor amenities that Lifetime offers. Lifetime lives up to its price for everything they provide. You get full state access to all of their gyms which is a huge plus during the summertime, which is when I go to the Framingham one for its outdoor pool, jaccuzi, and slides. But for indoor amenities, the Chestnut Hill oneโ€™s better for 2 main reasons: 1. The lockers are full length with compartments so you donโ€™t have to cram everything in. 2. Indoor bar/restaurant with the largest cafe! I do wish they had another location within Boston itself, but all in all great gym!

Kids Academy - (Childcare) Great staff- always make my kid feel welcome &safe! Front desk staff- friendly, seem happy to be working there. Cafe- Bigger than any other lifetime in the area Weight room- plenty of options for your pump Locker room- full size lockers w/ your own code- Don't need to bring your own lock & unlimited towels Showers- rain showers for relaxation Sauna, steam, & wordpool - seem to be larger than the average Lifetime & also a cold plunge. Management seems to always be present in the front & the kids academy. Because I use the club 5+ days a week, I see the value in the cost. Keep Up the great work Chestnut hill Lifetime staff!

I have never been able to make a gym part of my life routine until now. The gym is amazing. From the beautiful layout to the large locker room and sauna area. I can workout and then do some remote work in their large cafe. Itโ€™s a home away from home. I would give more starts if I could.

Unreal. The facility is huge. It is beautiful, and the staff was wonderful. This was off the first visit, however they have taken member fees and reinvested it in a way that will make you feel valued. It won't disappoint.

Beautiful place, there are an array of equipment to use. However I would like to point out, that there are "Karen" members that think they run the club. Some members have close relations with employees, and, as a member, will feel entitled enough to threaten other members / employees to have them kicked out of this club. No appropriate action has been taken to deal with them. I have seen members, and employees be let go because of a "Karen" getting their way. Employees are biased and favor certain members over others. It is causing an unfair, and unsafe environment, and not worth spending $250 a month. Also, children run around in the locker rooms screaming and nothing is done about it. Overall, only the rich, petty, naive members are favored, and cause more stress.

Alex Chery, one of many great trainers at Lifetime in Chestnut Hill, MA, is my Personal Trainer there. He worked with me initially, pre Covid and when I rejoined a month ago, I received an hour training again with Alex. Alex is a very genuine person who cares about every client. He listened to my concerns and goals, then advised me on diet, hydration, sleep, stress reduction techniques and exercises geared toward this 67 year old whoโ€™s a 37 year old wannabe. He recommended Lifetime classes including one that he teaches called Alpha Strength. Though totally out of my comfort zone, I tried it and love it. Alex is a tremendous teacher. Though a popular class, he manages to circulate during the entire 60 minutes to help each individual with proper form and encouragement. From novices to bodybuilders, Alex is consistent in his approach to everyone. I can strongly endorse Alex as a great Personal Trainer!

I love this gym so much. The classes are fantastic- the heated yoga- specifically flow and warrior sculpt as well as the cycle classes are my favorite. Alpha and gtx are also favorites and are like small group training. All instructors have been wonderful. The kids academy is where I feel this is really worth it for me. I am able to get a workout in, tutor from the cafe, and take a shower knowing that my kids are happy and doing fun classes. They are always excited to go and I am never bothered during my workout. The parents night out events are also fantastic and I get built in baby sitting to go to dinner or see friends. The staff at the kids academy, especially Danielle, are truly a godsend. Is this place expensive, yes, but I feel like I use it and it is worth it. My only suggestion would be softer towels.

While this is a large gym, it failed to meet my expectations. Their staff is so stuck up and arrogant. I am paying over $200, whilst yโ€™all raised rates and cut hours. Might as well cut the membership prices. The audacity for your locker room staff to yell at me as I am zipping up my coat to head out the door by 11:02 PM is intolerable and so unprofessional!! This gym is not welcoming at all compared to other local clubs. Sanitation wipes are always empty, and it is always humid in the gym. For the price I am paying for, do better, LifeTime.

This is the most expensive gym I have ever been a member of. Great instructors, amenities and instructors. I appreciated they were often with some restrictions during Covid. Pre pandemic I paid $176 a month. Post Covid it went to $194 and they just announced another increase. I may have paid it had the tone of the communication been different. The notice I received informed me of the increase and suggested how I should understand I am very lucky since it is $20 less than new members. Are you kidding me? Be thankful I am paying over $200 a month with this increase? They also started issuing surcharges for weekend spa services which, post Covid, is the only time they are open. I just feel line item charged to death. This doesnโ€™t feel like how I should treated after being a member for several years and spending so much on monthly membership, private instructors, spa, cafe and other services.

I have been a member of this gym for a couple of years now. The staff keeps changing, the gym is nice but not any better than any other high end gym. Also for the price you pay, you would hope they would have a womenโ€™s only area but they donโ€™t, definitely not worth $191 per month for the type of costumer service you receive. You could call 5 times and 5 times you will get a different answer. A lot of he said she said and zero accountability. Not worth the money at all. Regret joining, customer service has highly declined since Covid. Staff is extremely arrogant And rude.

I am pleased with my overall experience at Lifetime Chestnut Hill gym, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same about their Kids Academy. The staff there seems to be untrained in dealing with children and their needs, leaving me disappointed with their service. My kid was left to cry without any effort to soothe them, and the staff would only call me after waiting for more than 5 minutes of crying. On one occasion, I was told to pick up my crying child, and when I arrived, I witnessed the staff just watching him cry without any attempt to comfort him. It was heartbreaking to see my child treated with such indifference. To add to the problem, the director of Kids Academy, Daniel, was extremely rude when I asked if they could watch my child after he had calmed down. I later learned that other parents had also complained about her rudeness, and it was disappointing to see someone in a leadership position behave so unprofessionally. In comparison, the Kids Academy at Framingham Lifetime has taken excellent care of kids. They try to calm kids down when they cry, and it works most of the time. While it's challenging to find the perfect person for a job, it's crucial for Chestnut Hill Lifetime to improve their Kids Academy's service by providing proper training to their staff and ensuring their leadership is professional and courteous. Until then, I will have to take my business elsewhere

I love this gym and everyone is extremely friendly including the front desk staff. Shout out to Spice, she always makes me feel so welcomed when I come in. The location is extremely clean and luxurious. As a PoC, I was kind of nervous coming to this gym initially but that changed very quickly. Itโ€™s very diverse in race, age, and experience levels. All the staff in the Kids Academy are so friendly and provide me a detailed report on how my son is progressing along. They have so many activities for the children and provide individualized care. Iโ€™m in the best physical shape thanks to LifeTime. 10/10

best gym in area, but the price 260$/mo and you still have to wait 2+ weeks for broken equipment to be fixed

  • 1/5 Garrison F. 1 year ago on Google
Wanted to try before buying, but they don't allow a trial day and ask for an absurd $50 to give them a shot for one day. Not one week; one day. This tells me the company views fitness and health as elitist and exclusive. For a strong and healthy society, these things should be accessible and inclusive. You can find better gyms for the price (and for much less) that will actually let you give them a shot before asking for this much in membership fees.

been a member of this gym ever since it was opened. (had a Life Time membership at another location, this location is closer to home). I mostly only used the free weights area so this review doesnt apply to their many other services. for the most part all machines and equipment are kept in good condition, sometimes it may take a while for a broken machine to get fixed, but they have enough variety to not cause a problem. knocked off 1 star for 2 reasons: 1. membership is very expensive at $150+, you really gotta be serious about fitness to make it worth here. if you are just coming here to use a treadmill three times a week maybe look for cheaper alternatives. 2. they replaced all the power rack platforms after the initial set got too worn out, I felt like they really cheaped out on the replacement, not a fan of the new platforms at all, made me give up powerlifting for a while. most 1 star reviews on here have to do with cancellations, honestly just ask them and read the details before you sign up and all that can be avoided. I cancelled my membership with no problem because I'm moving to a different town.

I have really liked this gym. However they have shorten their hours and increasing rates. Lot of people have complained but they no actions has been taken to make a change. All lifetime fitness locations in the area close at 12pm. But for some reason this location has just changed to 11pm. Frustrated

This is just a beautiful place. From the three (or is it four?) story atrium in the main workout space to the pleasantness of all of the staff, it's really my wellness haven every morning. I stop in just to stretch and drink my tea, it's such a nice experience. Plenty of space from a sit and catch up on emails, etc. and it's not weird (but rather encouraged) to do so. Probably will get the fam to join here in short order too bc they have classes that appeal to everyone (including my six year old) along with a place for her to hang if the wife and I go together. Six stars!

  • 5/5 Garlic L. 3 years ago on Google
I love the gym with a passion. I would also qualify myself to be a fairly demanding customer when it comes to my fitness. I donโ€™t understand some of the poor reviews here but nonetheless Iโ€™ll share my experience. This is as clean and luxurious a fitness facility as Iโ€™ve ever come across. The locker room is spacious and the spa facilities are World class. You have access to literally every imaginable piece of exercise equipment too. I have one qualm; parts of the gym could have more natural light. Nevertheless this doesnโ€™t detract from the 5 star experience. Buy a day pass, youโ€™ll be sold when youโ€™re finished your session.

The cleanest medical facility in the Northeast. Professional, caring staff. The best of the best on every level. I'm so glad I made the nearly 4 hour trek for the second opinion. It's your life; don't hesitate if you want the best care available.

The feeling I get after a workout is the motivation I do it everyday. The days when I feel lazy and I want to cancel class, I remember the energy, the community, and happiness I feel. When COVID started, I got very isolated. No community, no support, no activities, everything completely shut. Lifetime saved me, they welcomed me into a community, provided me with a luxurious, energetic, and supportive experience. Walking into a place that greets you with smiling faces happy to see you at the front desk, kind staff, supportive instructor, and respectful colleagues. I am lucky and proud to be part of this community ๐Ÿค thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about Lifetime in Chestnut Hill. LOVE THIS CLUB! Lifetime has given me a sense of community, which has been nonexistent for me since the pandemic began. The instructors are some of the best I've seenโ€”the yoga, barre, and zumba/dance jam classes are THE BEST. The staff throughout the club are friendly and always helpful. I feel fit and happy once again thanks to LTCH.
