My daughter has been in the YMCA after school program for five years. She loves it! I do too. We love that she gets picked up at her school and escorted to the Y. They are provided a snack and homework time. I particularly appreciate it because in my limited weekday evening time with my kid, we don't have to spend it doing homework. Then they get physical activity for the last hour. I know my daughter loves it because that's all she talks about on our walk home.

CLEAN AMPLE EQUIPMENT FRIENDLY STAFF GOOD SAFETY FOCUS I have been using this facility a few times a week for months now through their nationwide program (I’m a member of an out of state Y). The staff is always friendly and accommodating with safety first in mind. I mainly use this place for weight training and stretching and they have everything I need to get closer to my fitness goals. First off, the lockers and bathrooms are always clean, along with the rest of the facility. The weight room may seem a bit small at first glance but even in peak times there isn’t an issue getting the workout in that I plan for the day. Good move on their part having two squat racks. The facility also has two full sized basketball courts that alternate for community activities such as volleyball, ping pong and general adolescent gym (I believe they coordinate with nearby schools for physical education). The events when the courts are not free are posted so that anyone can plan around the schedule to have time to shoot some hoops. I’ve never had an issue with the young kids being disrespectful or in the way of what I’m there to do. They also have many treadmills, stair climbers, row machines, stationary bikes, weight machine circuit, and even a pool. They just got a push sled as well which I’m very excited about. I have travelled all around the country for my job most of my adult life and have been to probably 40+ YMCA’s over the years. The Wang YMCA makes the most of their space and has the kind of community focused efforts that should come standard with any Y. The only complaint that I could possibly bring up is their not being open on Sundays but in all honestly I wouldn’t even want that to change. I respect the idea of the staff having a designated day each week to focus on whatever they please in their personal lives. They certainly deserve it.

It's a decent fitness facility which is kept clean and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. They have just about anything I need. The free weight room tends to get crowded in the evenings and it's tough to access the (one) bench press especially when someone decides to sit on it endlessly looking at their phone in between sets. The Cybex circuit is usually fine but you do find that occasional (usually young person) hogging a machine. Rule enforcement is dependent on which staff are on duty and what time you are there. There are a good amount of cardio machines, a stretching area, two basketball courts, and a pool. This Y still has a community feel to it, unlike Huntington which feels like it has been taken over by local colleges.

Basketball courts are decent. Young security guard guy felt the need to micromanage everybody's movements and seemed to be power-tripping. Supposedly for COVID-related reasons but it made no sense. Kicked me off the court 45 mins into a one hour session and wouldn't even let me take a last shot, said it was policy. Kind of weird...

The people are so nice and helpful. They seem to know everyone's names as they walk through the door! I also like that I can go to any of the Ys in Boston and I really like the diversity of the facilities. I only paid a little more than I used to at Planet Fitness but I get everything they have plus the pool, court, and fitness classes. The classes are my favorite part. I am having much better results with my instructor than I did alone!

Just wanted to extol the virtues of the Y in Chinatown which allowed for swimming throughout the pandemic safely. As a physician, I can personally attest to the great attentiveness to the safety measures instituted which allowed us swimmers to swim. Kudos to them all. It is really the best value for my money as a place to workout and to swim. The staff is exceptionally kind and take the time to know our names and greet us. These small gestures mean so much.

I have been using the pool during COVID and the staff and management have been incredible from the foyer to the poolside and so considerate and helpful. I feel they take our safety very seriously and are always open to making sure we understand the system and policies that are in place to keep us all safe and fit. They manage to do this with good humor and a sense of kindness. YMCA has proven to be the silver lining to COVID.

Given its location and membership rates, this YMCA offers excellent value. The staff are all very friendly, the hours are okay, and the equipment always is clean. I do wish that the treadmills were better quality, but otherwise this a great and affordable gym in a prime Boston location.

The best space I have found for my daughter, she lives happily there. I love this program. I have never seen my daughter so happy when she arrives from the YCMA. The teachers are attentive to the needs of the children and I love that.

It's convenient for where I live. (Avoid rush hour gym time - between 5 and 7 pm).

Received a beginners lesson for my son. He had a great time and the instructors were wonderful with children. Unfortunately over shadowed by one of the staff members who was extremely unhelpful and rude to us. I had hoped that as first time parents and especially those never had experience with the Y would have received better customer service than being yelled at and being told to “calm down” when seeking clarify and guidance.

The facilities are good and it's close to downtown. The staff know how to do their job and are polite to the customers for the most part. It's all good except from time to time some weirdos will peak at you in the shower or sit around and watch you change in the locker room. This happens at all YMCAs not just this one. I guess the era of shared changing spaces may soon be coming to an end.

They canceled my member ship on purpose and I paid on march twice and I spoke to the enployer about this and he claims that I am not on the system and then I spoke to the manager and he refuse to let me in the gym and he refuse to help me and he said to me that my membership is canceled and claims that I never paid the bill I will never ever return back to this location no more I am going to a different ymca location

The instructor is fantastic. Even with my 2 and a half year old screaming like a maniac, he was always able to manage keeping the class engaged and get my kid involved. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. For the age group I think it's very appropriate and I look forward to the next stage once my child turns 3.

Staff are friendly + area is clean but it is really really small. You have to walk through a basketball court to get to the fitness rooms you want, treadmill machine whatever, which means avoiding balls being hit at you… Showers are also small there are no handicapped ones available.

I have not been to YMCA elsewhere, but this place is great, especially staff! Features lots of machines, shower facilities, and pool. My only wish is that they had more variety in group fitness classes.

The kids after school program is great. Jen has a good relationship with all the kids and my daughter always wants to stay longer when I pick her up.

Been a Wang-YMCA member for a long number of years. The Staff has been wonderful with my issues or concerns. When COVID started they still did a wonderful job how they handled things. I was able to reach the location even through uncertain times.

Adult swim clinic has helped make my stroke much, more efficient, and as a result reinvigorated my workouts. There may even be hope for my kick and flip turns! The instructor, Mike, offers great advice and easy to remember tips in a supportive, welcoming environment for all swimmers. The Wang YMCA facility is extremely fastidious in following CV19 protocols. I'm really glad I signed up for the clinic.

This program is of great help for children and parents because the children are always involved in different activities and they help them with their homework, which is very important and they are sure that they are very responsible, so that as a parent you can be very calm and happy!! Thank you for providing this type of help through Ymca 
