Lovely cozy place!! Cute furnitures!! The coffee is rich in aroma, well brewed! Also the staff is very sweet and friendly, I can’t eat bread so she made me a salad version of the turkey pesto sandwich! Both heart and stomach are warm🥰

This place is a (sometimes) cozy coffeeshop and good for working. The decoration is nice and there are several places to sit, sip on your coffee and watch people walking outside in the side walk. When it comes to coffee, it matches the expectation of a locally owned coffeeshop, but if you’re looking for single origin coffee this is NOT your place. They have a wide variety of pastry.

Beautiful and quaint little place on Mass Ave.. It’s also bang opposite the entrance to Mass Ave. Orange line T stop. I ordered a vanilla latte and a blueberry muffin. The coffee was a delight and the muffin was perfect. I did a Ritual order and it was ready by the time I got there so no waiting. The interiors are amazing and the place has a cozy vibe to it. Would definitely recommend.

If you’re looking for an artsy, locally owned coffee shop, this is the gem you’ve been searching for. The interior is beautiful and the food is delicious. Grab a breakfast sandwich and coffee before spending the day at the MFA! Real ones know not to skip the chipotle sauce.

I came for single origin coffee or a pour over and got old medium roast that tasted kind of burnt and no other coffee options except standard lattes. If you after a good black coffee this isn’t it. However the sandwiches are great.

Had a cold brew, americano, breakfast burrito, and egg bagel sandwich. All were A+. Service was fast and efficient. Prices were great. The taste was ever better. I didn’t even stop to take a picture of the sandwich it was so good. Highly recommend this spot There is limited seating!

A great place to enjoy coffee. I went to get beans following a recommendation. Beans come with a free cup, drip or espresso? Espresso. That comes with a free cup of water, plain or sparkling? :-) Well, it is great flavorful coffee and as others have mentioned in a relaxed, bright ambience, and very nice staff. I forget what the specific roast was today. If you like coffee as a drink (not a tool!) you'll like this place and might like the events too.

First the shop looks nice from the outside. I ordered one large cappuccino and one large mocha both were hot. The cappuccino was nice but the large mocha was all fake and syrupy and not like a mocha cappuccino. The mocha cappuccino was similar to a really thick hot chocolate and kind of disgusting.

I've been a big fan of George Howell in the past. Loved the atmosphere and the coffee, their baristas' skill are excellent. I'm giving one star because of the customer service I received this past Monday around 4:30pm. I was waiting in the cordoned wait-line area, no one was ahead of me. There was one barista at the machine and one person looking through the register computer. I felt completely ignored, as if I was invisible. Finally after waiting about 7-8 minutes, I politely asked the cashier if I could have the last slice of chocolate cake. The cashier acted begrudged and nonchalantly served me. I am very disappointed at the service I received here, and won't be back anytime soon, or not at all.

I really really truly love their food and drinks. But some of their register staff are truly rude and abrupt when conversing. I don’t know how they expect to keep good business, if they don’t provide good customer service and are snippy. I have had 5 encounters like this with their staff and it’s really unfortunate because I do love their aesthetic and food and drink quality.

Nice cossy cafe with young Boston atmosphere. Ample board games and nice outdoor seating. Nice art work and a populär local spot. They also do some hot food and cakes which are on display. Public parking outside and also very close to a metro stop. Highly reccomend. The coffee is actually alright.

Gorgeous little Café! I‘m in town for just a few month and when I’m homesick, I‘m going to Farmer Horse Coffee and immediately feeling better. The staff is so adorable, the coffee tastes really good and the Breakfast Bagels are fantastic. I guess it‘s the only thing I gonna miss when I’m back home.

Good coffee, great and affordable breakfast burrito, super friendly staff, cute & colorful ambiance indoors. Early in the morning (before ~9:30am) is mostly empty surprisingly, so it’s a perfect place to read a book or get some work done before peak hours begin!

  • 4/5 Louis M. 4 years ago on Google
The place is cosy and worth a visit. Burrito and bagel breakfast offerings were good. Coffee was also good. The music was too high at times, and particularly annoying when pop music was playing. This is not the right kind of music for a cafe that aims to be a relaxing place. Please keep the music down and play something decent instead of pop.

Nice interior but they need to up their game when it comes to espresso drinks. Feels like they're made by people who don't drink or like them. Cap was bitter, scalding espresso topped by a floating mound of foam in a large cup. Disappointing :/

The coffee is similar to gas station coffee so if that’s your thing this is the place for you... although the between the two is gas station coffee is fairly priced. The staff there are pretentious, unhelpful and just plain rude.

What a delightful coffee shop! I was beyond impressed! I only wish I had daily access to this amazing experience. HIGH, HIGH quality ingredients and ridiculously high standards have been applied in sourcing the ingredients and shop items. I actually bought items to take on the flight with me so that I could prepare my carefully curated tea and coffee collection at home with a bit of George Howell flair. The build out is equally amazing! Again, if I had daily access to this place you could expect me to loiter there endlessly. Such a great space to work from, social in or just have your own individual Zen moment with your coffee or tea ritual. Outstanding customer service. I highly recommend!

Excellent choice for coffee lovers and good food, a very nice place, calm, excellent food and many options to choose for coffee. They sell articles related to coffee and coffee in grains of different origins. 100% recommended

  • 3/5 Amanda H. 4 years ago on Google
This meal was over $14 and not filling. The espresso is very dark, not my preference but it happens. The sandwich was 50% more expensive than most, but I would have expected real eggs for that price. The eggs were fake egg and barely tasted egg like, and they were cold. The aioli didn’t complement the sandwich either.

  • 5/5 Charles L. 4 years ago on Google

A+. Very well laid out cafe. Fairly large with a good amount of seating, and also fairly busy. Espresso drinks carefully prepared, and they offer a great selection of single origin pour over options (brewed on mod bar / kalita wave). Very friendly baristas, especially considering how busy the cafe is (one told me all about their espresso machines and grinders while finishing the drinks in the queue). Cortados were great, donuts we're pretty good too.

Trendy city spot for the coffee lover. They serve it all kind of ways. I had the flat white. The coffee itself had a very strong flavor with some bitter aftertaste. This is one of the best coffee shops in Boston. They have a simple, delicious menu for both Breakfast and Lunch. It's the perfect location to work on homework, read a book, or catch up with an old friend. It also has a small outdoor area that smells really nice and if relatively quiet for being right off of Mass Ave. The owner and staff are incredibly nice, and this small business deserves all the support and love of the community!

Funky little spot. I saw some college kids in there studying. They have books on a shelf if you want to stay a while. The interior reminds me of like a place my mom might go into to see what kind of scented candles they have and other goods to give your house that homey feel. Definitely chill vibes for an earthy crowd. They also have some outdoor seating in the back which is cool and I noticed those tables were occupied, so it appeared to be a popular little spot. It was hot that day, I was on my way to work on my bike, and I was sweaty and thirsty after checking out a new place. What drew me in was the sign. I forget now what it said, but I took it to mean that they had some potent coffee, cause I think it said something about a horse or something. But now I think I recall that that had something to do with them buying locally, but I'm not sure. I like to go to little coffee shops to see what they offer that's different from the chains and I needed to quench my thirst and get some good caffeine in me for my upcoming shift. After checking things out a bit I got a freshly made iced ginger tea that had a kick to it. Just something new I figured I'd get a taste of. I got something else too, perhaps a coffee or latte, but I don't recall, but I ultimately ordered 4 drinks - two cold, two hot. I remember the hibiscus tea and I'm confident I got some specially flavored latte. The teas were what you might expect, I guess, but idk cause they were new to me. The flavored latte was as advertised as well, so no complaints. What I remember thinking though is that there coffee wasn't super strong as I thought was suggested, so ultimately I came away unimpressed. Aside from the funky, homey, earthy vibes I saw no need to go back. Just sort of a pitstop that day. But I think it'd be worth a second look on a day I had more time. I think they had food, too, so that may be worth checking out. But I think it's just an alternative to the chains. Nothing super noteworthy from my perspective, but fair enough to give it another try

  • 1/5 Abdullah A. 2 years ago on Google
The Worst Coffee I have ever had. I ordered a flat white, I got a latte that was super super hot, i was patient enough to wait for it for 20 mins to cool down it didn’t, it was that hot. I asked the employee there nicely to dump a little bit of it cause it’s so hot, instead of offering me a new one, she was rude and told me, “so you don’t want it ?” I told her no and she threw it away. I regret tipping her 20%. Never going back again.

Nice coffee house with good coffee, good pastries, and good lunch options (mainly sandwiches). All female crew (I think - and not sure if that's purposeful but that's great) with very friendly staff. Great option for take out, or to stay cozy inside, or even better, to stay in a little igloo on the private patio (come sun, rain, or snow!).

Love the environment along with the food and bakery items! The coffee isn't my favorite, the flavors are too sweet and the plain coffee is a bit bland in my opinion. But overall super cute place.

Very cozy, a nice place to sit down, read or meet with friends while you enjoy a good latte, they have a delicious zucchini muffin that I love to have almost every morning. You can pay with CC or cash, is wheelchair accessible and there's a patio. They have a sandwich menu and more drinks beside coffee

Farmer's Horse has THE BEST coffee in Boston. I love getting their Iced Lattes and getting unique flavors in them every time. The staff is absolutely wonderful, super friendly, and very fun. The vibes are outstanding and I know I'm treating myself well going there. Also, the prices are insane, especially compared to pretty much every other place in Boston. Favorite shop in all of Boston :)

Cute and snug coffee shop that I’m so glad we have in the neighborhood! Great sandwiches and food as well tasty standard coffee options. The patio addition is great. My only qualm is they can’t ever seem to have a “rhythm” with their service. Even with ordering online in advance, I always end up waiting 10-15 minutes for my latte. This is not the place to come if you’re looking for a quick grab & go but otherwise I recommend!

This place is so delightful! The staff is so nice, cheerful and helpful. I LOVE their muffins and pastries, and the vibe in there is just super pleasant. Super cute and cozy spot. Great for an affordable and tasty breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito and added avocado. Their chocolate croissant was also very tasty, soft and flaky. Was happy I went here.

  • 5/5 Natalia C. 1 year ago on Google
A cozy little coffee shop. Their chocolate croissant has more of a brioche texture rather than a flaky croissant but it was tasty nonetheless. The tea is lovely. The counter person was a bit grumpy when I inquired about whether they do a pot of tea or if my only options are a small or a large cup, so I'm hoping they were simply having a bad day. I'd love to return to try their sandwiches. The ambiance is very nice. The prices are very affordable.
