Used to be amazing. Recent espresso machine change significantly decreased quality. Espresso machine changed from a beautiful La Marzocco to a set-it-and-forget-it automatic machine. Why change perfection?

Awesome coffee shop right off of Cambridge Street. We were visiting from out of town and the shop is super easy and accessible from the street. Baristas we’re very kind and my iced vanilla latte was really tasty. They have waffles as well! Will definitely have to come back sometime soon.

Great coffee and waffles for breakfast. Finally got the chance to try their famous liege waffles which are claimed to be the best in the state. Got both the regular liege waffle and the everything waffle with cream cheese on top, and they were legit. For the liege waffle, studded pearl sugar gave it a crispy outer layer, but the inside was fluffy like a muffin. The everything waffle had some sesame seeds and onion bits which made it taste like an everything bagel but with a better texture. The extra savory toppings and spread on it certainly made it feel more like a proper breakfast than the liege waffle which tasted more like a dessert. Nevertheless, they were both great complements to the coffee. Unfortunately, they are still only open for takeouts and the ordering process has to be through their website. The waffles are usually sold out the night before, so if you want to try their waffles, I would recommend placing your order early.

I’ve had top-notch liège waffles in Belgium and these are just as good! I drove 40 minutes out of my way this morning to get one because I was craving it so badly. The waffles are good cold but really peak when they’re just off the waffle iron, you almost want to burn your mouth on them, it’d be worth it

Small place to get some really good coffee. I recommend getting their drip coffee and definitely trying their Liege waffle. The waffle, doesn't crumble right away as you chew and it's not too chewy, the right amount of sweetness! Expect a bit of wait but well worth it!

Absolutely fabulous waffles, straight out of the iron with an assortment of variations, worth visiting for that reason alone. Unfortunately though the coffee really fell short. The shop seems to have recently replaced their La Marzocco Linea espresso machine (specialty coffee industry standard) with an Eversys automated unit — the kind in all those Blank Streets ominously popping-up everywhere. The reality is that not only do those machines take the touch and care out of a drink, they just make worse coffee. They're also so big you can hardly see the person behind the machine, which is a shame. I understand the shop has been short recently, which really makes things tough. But having worked behind bar at a number of very high volume specialty shops, I'm convinced the patience to train folks (and for customers to be patient too) is worth it. I love the shop, just hope the program is able to reset.

Tiny, cheerful coffee shop with solid coffee drinks and pretty exceptionally delicious waffles. Friendly service and fairly priced.

very mixed feelings. i got an iced mocha, and the FLAVOR was amazing, the espresso was fantastic and pretty decently chocolately. however, it had a really weird crunchy/not smooth TEXTURE due to the stone ground chocolate they use for the mocha, almost feels as if there were espresso grounds in the drink (see the picture and response from owner (thank you!)). but it was just pretty unpleasant chewing these tiny grounds of chocolate in every sip... also just a disclaimer for anyone who drinks decaf, tried to get one for my friend and NO DECAF.

Very small with limited seating but it's a great café. It was pretty busy when I stopped in the line was out the door and we had to wait for seating. The staff was super cool and I enjoyed the unique style of mini waffles they had. I had a chai and it was good, I'm pretty sure I was told it was an in house blend which is always cool.

Excellent local coffee shop with snappy service. The beans were OK — 7.5/10 in terms of flavor and correlating qualities. Pricing was in line with other shops. I would go again.

Curio is the best. We have been going here for about 5 years now, and it has remained solid: amazing coffee, perfect service, and delicious waffles. It is our go-to for coffee meetups.

I really dig this place. Cool coffee shop during the day and an unpretentious natural wine bar by night. The wines are really approachable, which many natural wines may not be, and just yummy. It's also a rotating list, so might want to have a couple glasses if you really like one. For the non wine drinkers, they have some good local beers too. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Food is not your conventional wine bar menu, but I think that makes it even more appealing, and everything goes really well with the wines. When I went they happened to be serving a super tasty (and affordable) lobster roll! There was also a grilled cheese on the menu that hit the spot. PS: Even though they're a coffee shop during the day, they only do wine at night

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the Cambridge/Somerville area. The beans are always freshly roasted and is a customized blend from a famous local roaster. I usually just do espressos/americanos but have tried almost everything on their menu. Waffles are a must try and they come in both sweet/savory styles. My personal favorite is the “Everything Waffle” which comes with cream cheese on the top. They do have Wifi and a few tables in case you are planning on working from here.

Went here on the most blistering hot morning of spring I’ve ever experienced, so this iced coffee kind of saved my life. Highly recommend the iced latte and dining in.

This place was on my list because of the award-winning liege waffles, and they were worthy of the praise. So good! There was no pourover service on the day of my visit, but the drip coffee was still excellent. Cute little cafe with a nice vibe and friendly staff.

I've been going to Curio sporadically for a year or so now and have always loved their coffee and waffles. Today I was having an extra tough morning and the very nice barrista whose name I did not get bought me my latte 😭 the gesture was so kind and sweet and what makes a local coffee shop what it is. Thank you so much kind stranger ❤️❤️

The waffles are mouthwatering and definitely worth returning for. I got the tahini chocolate and I am still thinking about how good it was! I was a little let down by the coffee though, I was excited to try to taza mocha and it was just /fine/, nothing to write home about.

This place might make the best cortado ever. Yummy cold brew too. And who doesn't love a liege waffle. Great little spot.

Fantastic coffee, not to mention the liege waffle which is INCREDIBLE. I usually get an iced latte + extra double shot + skim milk + vanilla syrup and it is absolutely perfect. I love starting my Saturday mornings here. Order ahead on Toast and wait for the text to let you know your order is ready (the estimate is usually pretty accurate), and then head up to the window to let them know you are there. The staff are wonderful! Anxiously awaiting the return of the nighttime wine bar!!

Please do not go here - very unpleasant service. Not for people who want to have a good experience enjoying coffee.

Absolutely love this place. We keep coming back, but our favorite waffle was the apple cider waffle back in October. Follow @thecoffeebeancult for more Boston cafes!

Ordered a Liège waffle with an iced espresso. The waffle was amazing and the coffee tasted great too. I can’t wait to have their apple cider waffle which usually is available in October. The patio is now open. Hoping to come here one evening after work to check out their wine selection!

I liked the online ordering system, especially during COVID. The espresso is delicious. The mocha was pretty good as well. Curio Coffee is definitely one of the better cafés in the area. Highly recommended. The waffles were pretty good. It was a little to sweet for my liking, but definitely worth trying if you’re into sweets for breakfast.

Lovely neighborhood “third space” coffeeshop with high quality espresso drinks and delicious Belgium waffle. Great spot to sit and read/study/people watch.

👍👍 A Tatte is a Tatte. You know what you're getting into. It's a place with phenomenal vibes and food that feels refined but accessible at the same time. I got a Linzer cookie which tasted tart and sweet, but a little dry as well. I'm forgetting the name of the menu item, but I also got scrambled eggs...
