Found the "secret patio" around back while looking for a place in JP to grab drinks and small bites! The fried shiitake app was delicious with a light crispy breading, and they had an extensive selection of wines and some great beers, but no cocktail bar.

ORIGINAL POST 4/27/22: This is one of our favorite restaurants in JP! The menu is limited in size but not limited in flavor - we recently took my parents and they completely agree. We’ve tried a handful of different items over the seasons, but we always find ourselves coming back for the chicken and steak entrees. This is a small restaurant with a comforting vibe, great for a date night or group of four (just make a reservation!). UPDATE 8/27/22: we visited for our anniversary and sat on the new patio. It is absolutely lovely, and our server (Alex) was attentive and brought us a small treat to celebrate! Definitely try to sit outside if there’s availability and the weather is nice, you won’t be disappointed.

Always love dining here. There patio is really cozy and has a cool small bar. The staff is very friendly! We never felt rushed. Food was incredible we got the fried oysters and beet salad apps, would highly recommend. The artichoke fettuccini was delicious. For dessert we got the coconut cake with lemon and it was amazing! Very rich.

Always a good dinner. We appreciate that they have a great takeout service throughout the pandemic. Can’t wait to go back to the lovely patio!

Very solid restaurant, a number of good appetizers, including the manchego potato croquettes. The pasta dishes are also very good. It isn't 5 stars, and it is definitely overpriced for the food quality, but it is a good spot.

Came to Boston on our honeymoon, and came here based purely off the reviews. I definitely was not disappointed. I highly recommend the Potato Gnocchi. The gnocchi and the mushrooms were exquisite.

Phenomenal food, wait staff and decor. High end food in a low lit romantic setting. I can't wait to go back! I got the steak, which was cooked to perfection. The fingerling potatoes on the side were the best I've ever had. Everyone in my party cleaned their plate AND ordered dessert.

I came here with my mother on Tuesday, September 27 at about 6:45pm. We sat at the bar for a minute, were given waters with ice in them and then decided to go elsewhere. When we told the white woman with long hair who was opening bottles of wine behind the bar that we were sorry but wouldn't be staying, she suddenly became very irritated and passive-aggressive, thanking us profusely and giving us dirty looks.

Three appetizers, a fabulous chicken caricature, and four fabulous desserts made for a great dining experience.

Outdoor dining within three brick walls was really pleasant, amd the food was fantastic. 4 heat lamps going amd didn't even need a jacket.

We enjoyed a beautiful night out in Boston and ended up eating at Vee Vee (luckily) as walk-ins. They gave us a seat by the door, which was appreciated and the service to the food was hitting on all marks. The one thing I hold back from giving a 5 star review on is that we were dying of heat -- it felt like we were eating in a sauna. I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. Either way, I was sweating throughout the entire dinner service and so was my fiancée.

I've been coming to Vee Vee for years and it's consistently excellent. The food is delicious and different, the beer selection is always spot on, and the staff is friendly and competent. I have a great meal here every time, and every time I leave I think, 'wow, that was fantastic!' Thanks for doing what you do so well, Vee Vee!

holy moly! we just had dinner at vee vee (once again) last night. over the years, it has remained consistently the BEST of JP. the roasted beet salad, baby back rib appetizer, and tomato fettuccine were all exquisite: nonpareil. every flavor detail was right. best meal i've enjoyed in some time. the cozy continental ambiance and attentive service complemented the perfectly made meal.

The ribs appetizer was excellent. The fried chicken special was very nice, with a sweet potato mash, cheddar biscuit, and some greens. The waitress was friendly. She was just the right amount of attentive, coming to the table neither too often nor not often enough. It was easy to split the bill across multiple people. I would definitely go back.

Officially my favorite restaurant in the Boston area..Cosy vibe indoors and outdoors, such friendly and welcoming service, and exquisite food. I run a small veggie farm near here, and am very fortunate to be delivering my veggies to Vee Vee every week...Chef Keith creates such fresh and flavorful dishes - using many local veggies/meat. Support restaurants that make the effort to buy locally since it's not always easy for them to do so, and I think this place goes the extra mile in creating a wonderful dining experience you can feel good about. The chicken cacciatore and watermelon gazpacho was incredible!

I believe this was a special but it was delicious. Fried chicken was nicely seasoned. Grits were cheesy and the kale was cooked perfectly.

Good place, the menu is small and a bit overpriced for the amount of food they put. It's does like paying an extra fee for fancy small homemade Spanish/Mediterranean plate, but the flavors are very good! Our waiter was nice. If the menu is right for you, 100% recommend for a date... But make sure you take a look at it first!

Reserved for 2 people to sit in the outdoor patio at 6. It was already busy, but we were seated immediately. The menu is very small, but they have specials constantly that aren't on the menu. Ordered the cripsy oysters as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious. My wife and I got the steak, both medium rare. Wife's steak came out great, mine was medium, but I wasn't there looking for every and anything wrong. All-in-all the atmosphere is a 10/10, service 10/10, but I feel like you are paying a little extra for the food because those 2 are so great. There are other places around the area that are the same price, if not a little cheaper and are easily better than the food at Vee Vee.

Small venue, but the outdoor patio really helps out. Everything on the menu is fantastic - always four (4) terrific beers on tap with a wide variety of beer and wine available.

Never disappoints! Love to take friends and fam here visiting from out of town, or a nice weekday meal out. I always order off the specials menu!

Outstanding food! Great selection of beer and wine and the short menu allows them to really focus on doing a few dishes well. Portions are not too big and not insultingly small, but just right to leave you feeling satisfied but not stuffed. And we could just walk right in! I was astonished with how good the food and service was on a Friday night.

Just had the best chicken of my life here. Will be dreaming about it for at least the next week. Their beer on tap was also great! As many other reviewers have said, it’s an ideal spot for a special date night.

Nicely decorated quaint space with an array of tastes on their menu. The Castrelvetrano olives and almond small bites plate had an amazing smokey and salty flavor that was great to savor over. Their Shrimp and Scallop cakes app comes with diced apples that paired well with the chipotle-aoili sauce. For their entre, I went with the first item that caught my eye which happened to be the first thing listed. The smoked chicken ravioli was lovely and had nice flavors from the grana padano cheese, peas and light sauces. The wait staff was friendly and great! Overall lovely experience.

Delicious food! Love the handmade pasta dishes and fried mushrooms. The watermelon and tomato salad is a particular favorite.

Service was fast and attentive, the potato croquettes and tuna steak were fantastic. However, order your meat slightly more well done than you like, because they are conservative with cooking times
