I was disappointed. After circling for a while trying to get parking, the place was disorganized, the counter person didn't know the menu or the ingredients, the waiting area (because I couldn't find parking and had to get take out) was noisy due to a constantly running blender. When I finally got my order (dropped off by someone with no time for questions) it was HALF a wrap with one piece of sausage, what looked like a single egg instead of the three listed on the menu, topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and pesto. Sounded delicious on the menu board, tasted greasy and wet. Probably won't go back.

The variety of vegan menus available here is amazing. I only got to try their Chipotle Avocado lime bowl with short ribs and it definitely felt like a huge upgrade from Chipotle bowls. All the ingredients were top notch and the optional short ribs that I added definitely enhanced the overall experience. Will return to try their other menus and smoothies.

NU kitchen is my go-to breakfast spot & a group-order favorite for business brunch orders. When dining in, I never leave here feeling shamefully sluggish after consuming a 4000 calorie dessert posing as a breakfast. Their ingredients are fresh, tasty & wholesome. I have so many breakfast favorites here: their vegan “just egg” sandwich, beetroot latte, muesli overnight oats, & acai bowls are just to name a few. *However not without flaw, I once discovered a large portion of cheese in their tuscan soup which my partner had opted to be vegan per their menu choice. If you’re one with food allergies, I’d encourage you to ensure you’re properly noting those preferences to prevent disappointment. Overall though, NU kitchen delivers on great atmosphere & a long list of energizing foods.

Their Chai Lattes and breakfast burritos are delicious! I love coming here in the morning, grabbing a latte with my wife, and walk around the beautiful neighborhood. Friendly staff, delicious food. Highly recommended.

Ok leaving 5 stars because I’ve had MANY pleasant experiences here over the years including friendly conversations with the owner… BUT why did you change the chicken cesar wrap?! Carrots? Tomatoes? Onions?! Yuck! That ain’t no Cesar! Change it back please!!!

I had a great experience here. Breakfast sandwich with bacon egg and cheese on ciabatta was amazing and coffee was good. The inside is very large and comfortable as well.

Give it a shot as this restaurant is among the fewest high review ones opening early in the morning, so I could get it as takeout for lunch on my noon flight trip. I got tofu harvest scramble and Cesar chicken wrap. Both are very fresh, well packed and delicious! My only comment for chicken Cesar is lack of option to be light or no of Parmesan cheese. Wish I could do less in Doordash. I will definitely come back for other dishes next time.

I went in there with a little hope but the food was very average as per the price. To start the edamame dumplings were bland. Although it said it has mushrooms- I couldn’t find any. They were even breaking from sides. Also, there’s no option of - steamed, fried or pan-fried. When it arrived on my table only then I knew it was like pan-fried. The vegan waffle wasn’t great either. The crust was too thick and had too much cinnamon. My husband tried the Short rib sandwich and it was okaish. Basically, higher price for basic food. We went on a Saturday brunch and wasn’t crowded.

Always pretty empty so plenty of seats and outlets to work, menu items are hit or miss imo (vegan pesto chorizo sandwich was bomb tho), plentiful vegan options

The staff was super friendly and there's a lot of vegetarian and vegan options too so that's great! You can even veganize stuff that isn't which is also super cool. I took the vegan tacos and wasn't a fan unfortunately. The scrambled tofu tasted bland and since there was only avocado and some sauce beside the tofu I didn't really eat much. The smoothie was super good though!!

So disappointed! We live a couple blocks away and have been slowly transitioning to WFPB and I was so excited to try this place; I spent all day yesterday stalking their ig. Went there last night at 6:15pm to meet two other friends. When we entered the entire place was filled with visible smoke. At first I thought it was a kitchen fire but nobody working there said anything about it. The kitchen was in the middle of the room all open air, and it seemed like it might be that way a lot. It was really bad, after a few minutes my throat hurt. I don't think I could have lasted much more time in there. Inhaling smoke is pretty carcinogenic so that seems counterproductive to a clean eating establishment. Then we tried ordering a latte--their espresso machine "wasn't on" so no lattes or espresso based drinks. I tried ordering an iced matcha latte and the woman had to ask someone else if they had them (they're on the menu multiple times). Finally we ordered two drinks (matcha and cold brew) and it came to 13 bucks. Yikes. Check the photos for what 13 dollars buys you. Powdered matcha that clumped and was never properly dissolved and a cold brew filled with so many coffee grounds you had to chew with each sip. We then tried to find seating for four since we planned to order food when our friends got there. There were no barstools open for four people but there was a huge section off to the side that had at least 3 visible empty tables, but it had chairs blocking the entrance to it. We asked the staff if we could sit over there since we had friends coming for food. They said another group was in there (I guess they must have been out of our sightline because we only saw empty tables). They told us our option was to wait for enough people to leave that we could sit. We passed and just left, never to ever return again. Super bummed.

I have been to NU kitchen in Worcester- my all time go to for açaí bowls. Recently I ordered a takeout from NU kitchen Somerville and it was not the same experience. Very disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food. Açaí bowl seems not so fresh and poorly filled.

After eating a bunch of really good, but rather unhealthy food for the last week, this place was a healthy reduce that was much needed. We saw the good reviews online and we figured parking would be better here than in downtown Boston area so we gave it a try! Parking, as imagined, was pretty easy. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful and had nice decor all over. The restaurant used lots of woods and plants for the decorations which combined well together. The menu was overwhelming with the many good options, but that’s not too much a bad thing. Overall, I decided on the Honey Goat Avocado sandwich and an Oahu Açaí Bowl. Both options were exception and I was very delighted with the presentation and the quality of the food. I recommend switching out the bread for a bagel on the sandwich as recommended by the staff. Overall great experience and would 100% recommend and come back!

What an incredible morning delight! Finally had my first vegan waffle and boy was it delicious. Every bite was a perfect blend of soft and crunchy. Huge props to one of the servers who made it - she absolutely nailed it. What made the waffle even better was that the individual grains and superfoods could be felt and tasted. In addition, the chocolate fudge sauce complemented the sweetness of the granola and maple syrup. ***important note: the waffle is good enough for two people - I had trouble finishing the entire thing and I consider myself a heavy eater 😅*** ALSO, BIG props to Isabel who customized my bagel sandwich. She was a great hostess from the start and was active to help me learn the menu at 07:30 in the morning. On top of that, she packed in an Impossible patty, JustEgg, spinach, cucumbers, mushrooms, and pesto sauce all in between two bagels WITHOUT having anything spill out! I struggle to do that with even three add-ons, so major props to Isabel. ***Keep hiring people like her, NU Kitchen!!***

Salad was good . However added short ribs, which was thin an overcooked. Did not get the value. Had one of their juices it was ok but not worth the high price, which almost equal to my meal. I do not believe they have good ventilation, because my clothing smelled like their kitchen when I got home. Interesting menu, good idea, poorly executed.

Have been here many times, and it’s always delicious! I’m so happy that this place exists for quality meat alternatives meals. My only wish is that they were open later, particularly week days, so I could get food here more often!

Can't go wrong with breakfast at NU Kitchen in Somerville. My go to spot on weekends or when family or friends are visiting. Hardworking and friendly staff. I get weekly cravings for superfood toast and a strawberry banana smoothie. Much love to the crew in Somerville.

Love this place! There are so many great vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian/GF options for you to find at NU Kitchen, it’s definitely become my favorite spot for clean eating & non stop smoothie runs here in Massachusetts. Can’t wait to come back more often to try this entire menu that’s suitable for my dietary needs!

There are many of vegetarian and vegan alternatives, which is excellent, and the staff is really pleasant. Even non-vegan items can be veganized, which is also really wonderful. Yet, NU Kitchen offers a wide variety of energizing cuisine together with a terrific atmosphere.

I was there for a special event, and it was closed to the public at that time. The array of food was extensive, and all quite good. They make a variety of excellent, healthy smoothies. The staff was friendly, fast, and efficient, even with a group of roughly 100 people. The noise level inside can be problematic when the place is packed. Outdoor seating is available.

Excited to try a healthy alternative for lunch as I ordered a salmon bowl with rice/quinoa. The rice is over cooked to the point that it’s hard as ROCKS !!! I cannot enjoy this meal and with it being a bowl and everything is mixed I cannot enjoy the salmon, corn , veggies , without having to separate the horrible rice. I called to complain and the women answers the phone with a loud noise in the background expecting me to hear. I had to educate her and say “why not walk away from the noise so that I can hear you” You would think that in 2023 the level of service would be better. I want a refund asap P.S The descriptions says a healthy mix of rice/quinoa so where is the quinoa ?! My bowl only had rice ….

Tried this place for the first time due to the overall good reviews and decent number of vegetarian options. Ordered the SoCal smoothie which was delicious, lemonade which was also very good and scones. The scones were probably the worst scones I've ever had in my entire life. I have had the good fortune of eating scones in Scotland and from many other Scottish friends. Firstly they're round in shape but I can ignore that. They are either unsweetened or very slightly sweetened and most importantly they're plain! They're plain because they're usually eaten with cream and jam or butter and jam. The scones I got from NU kitchen were so thoroughly loaded in cinnamon and sugar that it was impossible to taste anything else. I will never understand the American obsession with cinnamon but that's a whole other topic. The scones were dry and crumbly and not moist at all, which is the opposite of what a good scone should be like. It's a shame because the SoCal smoothie was so perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness that I know that at least they do understand how to not make everything sugary!

Came in for breakfast as we had done before a couple years ago and liked it. Upon walking in we were not greeted, in fact all of the staff were on their phones and not friendly whatsoever. I asked for my coffee to be made in my personal cup and was forced to get a large simply bc my cup was 24oz (other places have no issues making a 16oz coffee in my 24oz cup). The food was pretty good! Love to have so many plant based options. I got the Florentine egg sandwich which could have had more flavor but overall was good. My sibling got the super fruit waffle which was amazing! They really put so much fruit on top and the flavor was delicious. Our coffees are good and the flavor options were decent. I can’t say I’ll be back just because I had such an unpleasant experience with the staff. I don’t mind paying higher prices for plant based food but because the staff and atmosphere were lacking it didn’t feel worth the price point. Disappointed to say the least.

Joined a couple of vegans for breakfast. I usually struggle to find something tasty and satisfying. This place was very helpful in making suggestions and asking me questions about what i liked typically then they made suggestions based on what i had described. In the end i loved an item which was similar to eggs with chorizo and I’ll be darned if it tasted just as authentic s the real dish. I had a couple of their pastry items and they could have been just as authentic. I regret that i didn’t write this sooner but this visit was in late February of ‘23 and i just found this website because another son of mine asked me for suggestions and i found NU Kitchen again which he was grateful for.
