I was in line with a group of friends, one of whom has a limp when she walks due to a stroke she suffered when she was a child. Quite an inspiring story: the doctors told her she’d never walk again, and now she hikes regularly and gets through life quite adeptly. Anyway, the bouncer condescendingly addressed the rest of the group, asking why we would let our friend out like this when she’s too drunk. The bouncer never once said a word to our friend herself. We were honestly confused at first because we knew she was fine, but then I realized that he must have seen her limp when we moved forward in line and assumed she was stumbling. I leaned in to try and quietly explain the situation to the bouncer without causing a scene, but the bouncer saw it as an act of aggression and punched me in the chest. Two more bouncers came out of nowhere to escort us away. Bouncers escalated a situation that could’ve been handled without violence. When we explained our friend had a disability, there was no response or consideration. Not professional behavior and likely discriminatory.

Came here on a Saturday. Great vibes, drinks are cheap, and the DJ was great. Perfect for the college crowd around. Coat check is reasonably priced as well.

Loved the vibe here. You should try the BANG BANG BROCCOLI. It is literally the best appetizer and the best version of brocolli I have had. I wish they had some vegetarian options for the main course. Everything else is good. You should visit this place if you looking to chill with friends or if you want to watch a game

The food isn’t bad, I like just three things on the menu. this evening, the lady at the bar took my card “to start a tab” although I was just having a meal. She gave me the receipt to sign and it wasn’t until I made it all the way back home (50 miles away) before realizing the woman never gave me my card back. I called to speak to them regarding this and the lady who answered the phone transferred me to the manager. The manager on duty (JUSTIN) gave me major attitude and told me it’s all my fault and the fact that the woman did not give me my card back has everything to do with my responsibility, and absolutely NOTHING TO DO with the staff. JUSTIN was extremely rude, condescending, did not offer anything as a resolution, but continued to down talk me and blame me for the lady not giving me back my card. He also laughed at me and told me “that’s too bad.” He did not even apologize for his staff’s mistake. I will spread the word about the horrible staff there - JUSTIN. I should have never returned after my previous bad experience with poor customer service with a rude bartender and rude hostess, but I did, against my better judgment. I will never return there and I will advise everyone I know to steer clear of this awful establishment. It’s a shame because this place used to be cool awhile back, but definitely not anymore. JUSTIN is an awful manager with poor communication skills and an awful, absolutely terrible personality to match. I will escalate this matter to the corporate office and GM. This location just lost tons of patrons solely because of justin.

I've visited this restaurant twice, my first time I had a burger that in all honesty didn't taste very good, but I just assumed it was an off day. I decided to give this place a second chance on a Friday night with my girlfriend. We started off with the Mac and cheese starter which was about the tastiest thing we had that night. Next we ordered an espresso burger and a fried chicken sandwich, what we received was attractive looking, but was lacking where the food actually mattered. The chicken in my sandwich was laughably thin, even with the breading on it! That chicken was thinner than the slice of tomato that was in the sandwich, even though it tasted o.k, but in the end we were left with an underwhelming and sticky experience from that chicken that was drenched in what seemed to be super glue mixed with maple syrup. My girlfriend didn't even finish her burger, I tried a bite and we both agreed it didn't taste like what we paid for. Our waiter and service was great, but at the end of the night I was apologizing to my girl for giving this place a second chance. If you want decent food at a decent price, don't come here.

Had an incredibly disappointing time. Showed up at 6:30, ordered drinks and food. Half of the drinks showed up, the rest never came. After waiting 40 minutes, the other drinks never came. We asked again to check on them, after 20 minutes they showed up. We asked for the check, food was never entered. Restaurant was damn near empty, and it took over an hour for a table of four to get drinks. Arguably the worst Boston dining experience I have ever had.

It sucks. We sat down at 8, had someone take our drink order, then we had some questions about the menu (someone in my party had a ton of allergies), and they didn’t get back to us and never answered our question. Our waitress was just walking around, on her phone, sipping her iced coffee. They brought out the appetizer that we had questions about, 45 minutes later. Never got a visit in between that. It was an empty Sunday night with hardly anyone there. Max 25% occupancy maybe. On the plus side, the fishbowl was bussin.

Food was delicious! The only issue we had was no black tea and the doors didn't open til 10:01am. If you go, ask for Saveon as she is the waitress from heaven! Please tip her well!

I sat at the bar and ordered a Chardonnay. There was still lip makeup on my empty 9oz wine cup. I pointed it out to the bartender, and he swapped it out. I ordered the Bayou Chicken Pasta $20 [🔥 / gf] spicy blackened chicken, sweet corn, jalapeño, bacon, tomatoes, parmesan cream (sub GF pasta +2) at 18:20pm (6:20p). I am waiting to see how I am treated further. I expect subpar treatment from young egotistical college bartenders. There is a nice mixture of people so far, but it is generally empty, and I am here by myself. 18:33pm Another nice server came and delivered my bowl of food. My first bite was subpar. It wasn't as hot as I expected. Not a lot of flavor and bland. I wanted to add something spicy to compensate for what was missing. I asked the bartender if I could have Siracha or Buffalo sauce. He brought back Mc.Ilhenny Co Tabasco Pepper Sauce. He said it's going to take a minute to get the Buffalo and Saracha Sauce. Buffalo Sauce so far seemed to work well. Sriracha kinda works well if your chicken is not well seasoned. They did an average job. Which is what I expect. Buffalo makes the most sense to me. So far, I expect these 2 wines, Blackened chicken experience to be a $50 total, including tax. They had trivia nights here, but I wasn't in the mood. Foods average. Service average. Drinks are as expected. It's social but a setup for college type activities. So far, my unbiased opinion is that for the city, they are doing a great job. 1 male and 2 - 3 female servers. Cheap drinks. Attracting food and a nice dim atmosphere. Could the food be better, yes! But 4 of 5 people can't tell the difference. Can the drinks be better? No, the bartender was attentive, but service was sub-par. I'm not excited to come back, especially to the same bartender.

No visit to Allston would be complete without dropping by your local neighborhood watering hole... Great food, awesome service, and an atmosphere so energized you're eternally on the cusp of 30 y/o...

I was denied a water from the bartender. I’ve come to this bar many times before and have never experienced the service I had yesterday. Went out with some old college friends and was having a great time. I went up to the bar to get a water and was waiting a little bit, finally I caught the bartender’s attention and politely asked her for a water, she told me no and walked away to help other customers. I was in shock that a bartender would deny a water to a customer but I continued to wait patiently for her or another bartender’s attention. About five minutes later she made her way back around and looked at me and skipped me, at this point I was frustrated and I said to her that she was being super disrespectful to me and I did not appreciate it. This bartender then goes and gets her manager to remove me from the bar. I explained the story to the manager and didn’t seem to care either, he managed to tell me that she told him I reached over the bar and I made her uncomfortable. Super appalled by this incident as I have always come to show my support at this bar. I’m sad this was my experience after supporting this place for almost five years and wish the management handled it better.

Went here at ~1030 on a Saturday night and the line wrapped around the block. Wait time took just over an hour. Cover was $10 cash only (there is also an ATM at the door). Almost a 100% college kid crowd. There’s a large dance area with the DJ. Drinks were really weak which sucks. The large glass pictured is a Moscow Mule and costed $15. It was also the most hot and suffocating bar/club I have ever been to. I mean it must’ve been at least 90 degrees in there. Music was mostly pop songs from 2010s…Regardless of these issues, I still had a decently fun time!

usually love this bar. Such a great vibe, great drinks, awesome bartenders, etc. BUT this past weekend I went with some friends and the bouncers were anything but nice. One of them was just so angry and was clearly taking it out on the people in line. I really wish I got his name. I understand drunk college kids can be annoying, but at this point in the evening, my friends were sober and we were being extremely polite. But, once I got into the bar, the vibes were great as always. the bouncers that were there that night should work there. I am usually a very kind, patient and understanding customer at places but this man was yelling at my friend and I, putting us both on the verge of tears. absolutely ridiculous.

The drinks are great, fun events and Jo is a great bartender!! As for food I’ve only ordered the nachos but they are pretty good! Very crispy chips that don’t sog easily, and creative presentation too:)

I love this place because they have two environments: a bar and so many tables to sit and talk to your friends and also a DJ so you can dance and drink. The waiters were excellent and the strawberry margarita was delicious! Super recommend!

Waiting time was tooooooooo long for the amount of people in there! We were waiting for appetisers (nachos!!!) 30-40 minutes !!!! We’ve ordered nachos twice, and second time they didn’t bring salsa sauce saying “it’s not included”, when we said that it was included in our fist order — they’ve brought even 2 sauces. To be true — bad experience, bad attitude, won’t come again and can’t recommend! Bad quality for the price.

I'm a fan of Tavern in the Square, the one by North Station/TD Garden at least. Ordered the same dish at both, but the dishes were the same in name alone. The fish and chips were ok, but the steak tips lacked flavor, were tough, chewy and very disappointing, especially since we were hoping for a similarly fantastic experience we had at the Tavern in the Square by TD Garden. The service was ok, not great, but ok. The waitress asked if everything was OK every 5 minutes...."A" for effort? I love how many excellent gluten free options there are. Other restaurants need to take note. The missing stars are specific to this location.

Staff was friendly and professional. Many gluten free options which our party of 5 appreciated. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We would definitely recommend as well as return in the future.

This place is elite especially in the Allston area. The atmosphere is very lively every single night and especially on a Thursday as the line to get in reaches the next street.

got denied on my 21st because i was “too drunk” according to the bouncer. i was not stumbling or doing anything to be a liability to the establishment. i simply told them it was my birthday and got denied. bouncers we’re very rude. i understand their doing their job but be nice, it’s not that hard.

My order: -Espresso Martini (a whole bunch of them) -Weihenstephaner (a really good German beer) -The Nachos (nothing added, we’re not ballin’ here) -The Chicken Sandwich Truly I expected the worst of this place, but was pleasantly surprised. Mayhaps because it was on a Tuesday night, but it wasn’t crowded, drinks were okay, food was descent. Pro tip: make sure you scrape the cheese from the baking sheet that was melted and put it on top of your nachos before you begin eating them.

Restaurant closes at 12am. I called to place a quick order at 10:45 and the person on the phone says the kitchen closes an hour early( that would mean 11) and I can’t place an order. I ask for the manager and he says he’s the manager and his name is mike

Giving 4 stars just because it was a little darker than a normal restaurant should be. Great service! Ordered the yummy Mediterranean Chicken Wrap and found the wait time to be super quick and great all around. Good visit considering it was my first time in Boston :)

Nightclub for the college crowd. Went on a Thursday, $5, but no specials. Dance floor was ok, no fog machines, DJ erratic with song choices every 30 second. Not worth the trip.

It’s a good time depending who you go with. But these girls at the bar (bartenders) do not acknowledge you if you’re a female. They serve guys first before they serve you. They look at you for a quick second & wish they never did. They eventually take your order but not till they serve like 3 guys before you
