I had been to East Boston Animal Hospital a few times and they had fine service. The location was convenient and they checked what I needed for my cat, though communication wasn’t always great. However, today I had to drop my cat off for an ultrasound- he couldn’t eat anything prior and would be there for a few hours. I got a call 3 hours later that the ultrasound technician had never arrived and my cat had been waiting without food or water for over 3 hours for a procedure that never happened. When I picked him up, there was no apology nor acknowledgement that what had happened was wrong. I will not be returning and would encourage others to take pause before bringing their pets here unless it’s an absolute emergency.

Seldomly do i leave reviews as I know how much of a detriment it can be to leave one in haste as many do. DO NOT, DO NOT bring your pet to this facility. The Vet told us point blank after questioning his horrible decision, that he in no way shape or form cared about our animal. Our pet was brought there to be tested for worms and was given a few meds and then got really sick, not abnormal but still cause for some concern. When we brought the pet back to re evaluate I asked simply "is there anything else to do to counteract what may have happen with the meds" He told me how dare I question him and they'd call the police if we did not leave. My attorney is filing suit. Avoid at all cost

My puppy has been going here for 4 months now. Really kind staff and very professional vet who asks questions that instill confidence. Dr. Chopra even found a tiny umbilical hernia that was missed by 4 other vets my dog had seen during the adoption process and then for vaccines with me prior to my first well appointment at East Boston Animal Hospital. Very approachable and my pup likes it there. I also like that they have the capability to do surgery there and have after hours emergency also. I’d rather, if my pup needed, to see someone who was familiar with him or that vet decides to refer for specialty care if necessary. That way my dog and me are comfortable and have rapport in the event of an emergency. They are doing renovations currently, and I don’t know if that impacts the waiting area or not— but the shape of the waiting room doesn't allow for much space. If you have a reactive dog you might want to see the space or discuss with the staff to arrange an appointment during a non-hectic time. So far I have only been in for early appointments and it is usually all puppies first thing in the morning, all well behaved. I recommend! Oh I almost forgot, pricing is very fair. They don't charge an office visit if it is just shots etc w a tech. They are responsive and kind. And my puppy wiggles his brains out for the vet techs he has had in the past for shots etc, so I know he was treated well when he was taken back for his shots!

My 🐕 dog of 5 years always happy & jumping around the house suddenly was limping. I brought him to East Boston Animal Hospital & immediately they squeezed us in. Dr Chopra 🩺 & the staff ⚕️ aside from Professional are 100% animal loving people, from the front desk to the technician they took great care of my Miguelito and I was happy to find out all he needed was a nail trimming he had a hangnail. They could have charged anything they wanted for an emergency but the pricing was fair and the peace of mind they gave me was priceless. Thank You Dr & Team!!!

Take your pet elsewhere for more thorough and thoughtful care - coming from someone who has worked in healthcare and who does not ever leave google reviews. I came to my appointment on time only to wait 45+ minutes to be seen. They saw others before me that came in after me. When it was time to be seen, The vet noted that he could not replace my pets bandage without replacing the splint — additionally my pet would need sedation (bandages can be changed without changing splints. Sedation is not required for a bandage change). They said that they would need to keep her all day to empty her stomach for sedation would call when complete. They never called me ( I only called because they were about to close for the day). When I called them, they said she was done an hour before! When I picked my pet up, they gave me no helpful information on follow up or how she did. My pet was anxious and did not seem comfortable. The receptionist made rude comments on my pets behavior (my pet was anxious) I had to remind them that she needed a follow up appointment! When I tried to schedule, the receptionist kept trying to get me to schedule another time as if she was rushing me out. She was completely rude and has awful tone which I’ve witnessed seeing her interact with other pet parents and myself. She honestly should be reprimanded or fired. Once I got home, I realized they took the pain medicine from my pets carrier (not prescribed by them, medicine my cat has to take every day for her broken leg) and did not put it back. I called to come pick it up and they said it’s no where to be found and basically said there is nothing they could do. I immediately cancelled my upcoming appointment and will never be returning. Extremely poor experience, minus the few professional and nice people on staff there. Save your time and money. Go elsewhere. Trust me.

My pup needed to get his regular examination and yearly vaccinations in October. Being new in the area I was looking for a good Animal Hospital but in vain. I called several vets in the area(sorted by distance) but no one had any free slots until next year and some of them just blantly cut the call. Then one day suddenly I just came across East Boston Animal Hospital, I called and wallaa! Not only did I get an appointment but they were kind enough to adjust the timings as per my request. We had our 1st visit 1. Welcoming people at reception 2. Dr. Chopra and his assistant dr were amazing with the dog 3. Quick and informative 4. Very well handled the whole visit!! 100% recommended

They are a disgrace to the medical profession. How the manage to stay in business is beyond me. I don't usually leave reviews as I often find myself wanting to when im mad and seems like an unreasonable decision. This is different this place is horrendous. They are in the process of killing my animal and threatened to call the police when I demanded an explanation. Boston heath department and board of business has been notified

Only a second star because they didn’t actually hurt my cats. They did, however, unnecessarily give one of my cats a second 3-year rabies shot when she had gotten one 11 months earlier. We were new patients and they were given her medical records which someone clearly did not read. Luckily, it wasn’t harmful but it was still an unnecessary vaccine (that I also paid for). I also found them to be a bit gruff and not as gentle with my cats, which is technically fine but having experienced vets with a much gentler handling/bedside manner with my cats, I really don’t prefer their methods and think it’s good for people to know what they’re getting.

The vet techs are great! Only saving grace. The vets themselves seem to rush through the appointment and don't make time to ensure all of your questions are answered. Also, appointments are consistently 30-45 minutes behind.. regardless of when you arrive. They're a small operation with a lot of clients and it seems they cannot support the amount of pets they need to see. While you can unsubscribe, you get a lot of marketing emails trying to sell you on products for your pet.. that is the LAST thing I would want out of a vet.

Dr. Chopra made a mistake with the treatment of my dog in a routine neutering. I had to bring my dog back in as a result, he assured me I wouldn’t have to pay one more dime (I paid $775.00 the day before - yes, that much for a 12lb dog to get neutered.) I was then charged at the front desk; when I questioned it, Dr. Chopra came out to the waiting area and had an absolute meltdown, screamed at me and threatened to call the police if I didn’t pay more money for their mistake. I had been a client for 10+ years and was treated like garbage. I will not be going back and would advise against anyone taking their pet to this place. I also noticed that the waiting area is covered in mouse droppings, exam room unclean and not sanitized between appointments. Take your babies somewhere else!

Very nice people. Very convenient. Have talked with other people who think it's to expensive and charge for every little thing. Everything is expensive today, if your a true dog person, then it's family and you would not complain for medical treatment. Since when have we been charged for only some of the services the vet does on our dogs.

My dog and I LOVE East Boston Animal Hospital! I've been taking my dog here for 2+ years and they've always treated her like part of their own family. They truly care for the animals and ensure your pet is comfortable and well taken care of. Dr Chopra and all the staff members were amazing. I would recommend East Boston hospital to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy vet.

Highly recommend! One of the worst things about moving to a new area is finding a new vet, and I was super lucky to stumble on East Boston Animal Hospital! The staff is extremely friendly and the vet is super knowledgeable and helpful. My dog was diagnosed with a chronic illness this year, and I really appreciate how attentive and reassuring the vet is when it comes to our visits!

Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They don’t try to upsell you on things you don’t need like some offices do and their prices are very reasonable. Best veterinary office I have found for my fur babies (Cat and dog).

I've been taking my dog here for the past 3.5 years and never had any issues. I recently got a puppy and my experience bringing her to EBAH the past 6 months has been a nightmare. The first few visits they kept forgetting what vaccines she needed and ended up giving my puppy an overdose of the bordetella vaccine when my partner took her to one of the visits which caused her to vomit and have diarrhea for two days, and they charged me for it! After complaining about it they offered me a credit on the account. They also kept demanding my dog was taking sentinel when I've never purchased that brand. Then we got our puppy spayed. She took out a few of the stitches so we went back and they stapled her up. She took more staples out so we took her back again. She still had another week before the stitches were ready to come out but they took ALL of them out prematurely. My boyfriend noticed when we got home and her incision was practically wide open. We took her back and they told us she was fine, then tried to just put glue on it. I told them I was not comfortable with that so they stapled her back up and said she had to keep her cone on another ten days. Our dog had to remain in her cone an extra week because of their incompetence. If you request any records or files be prepared to wait at least a month. The staff here is not trained at all. I do not recommend you take your animals here.

The doctors here take wonderful care of pets, but no matter what time you make your appointment, you ALWAYS have to wait at least 40 minutes. This is hard when you have a dog, who has high anxiety about vet visits. I don't know why they can't seem to work this problem out.

We sent our dog over as he sprained his legs. The vet was very careful and communicated well. You will love to have your pets taken care of here.

My first visit to East Boston Animal Hospital was when my dog, Barney collapsed during a walk. The office was closing when my friend called and the person taking our call told us to come right away and that they would wait for us. I am so grateful for the outstanding care Barney got and continues to receive from Dr. Chopra and his staff.
