My daughter had a double jaw surgery and her care was absolutely awful. She would ring the call light and they would hang up on her. The nurses barely checked on her. When I went to visit her, her blankets were full of vomit. I had to ask a few times for new ones. She is allergic to milk yet every meal had all dairy stuff. The room wasn’t cleaned for 2 full days. There wasn’t any compassion! Never ever again

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS TREATMENT. COMPLETED 120 UNIVERSITY CREDIT MODULES IN 9 MONTHS, WHICH THEY SAID "IS NOT ADVISABLE" BUT NO DIFFERENT THAN A RESIDENTIAL DEGREE. COMPLETED EVERYTHING ON TIME ONLY TO DISCOVER THE FINAL TWO MODULES WERE FAILED WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. FILED A COMPLAINT AND THEY REFUSED TO BUDGE. TOOK ALL THE TUTOR MARKED ASSIGNMENTS AND END OF MODULE ASSIGNMENTS TO AN EXTERNAL UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR FROM THE SAME FIELD. PAID HIM TO REGRADE EVERYTHING AND DISCOVERED A 45% DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OPEN UNIVERSITY GRADES AND THE EXTERNAL UNIVERSITY GRADES. FILED ANOTHER COMPLAINT AND NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. TURNED OUT TO BE POLITICAL DISCRIMINATION BY THE UNIVERSITY DUE TO THE INDEPENDENT RESEARCH I HAD DONE ON CLIMATE CHANGE. I NOW HAVE A TOTAL OF 480 BRITISH UNIVERSITY CREDITS AND NO DEGREE, DESPITE IT ONLY REQUIRING 360!!!!! NO INTEGRITY IN THEIR GRADING OF STUDENTS WORK OR THE QUALITY AND STANDARDS THAT A UNIVERSITY SHOULD UPHOLD. WITH THE DIFFICULTIES THAT A REMOTE LEARNING DEGREE COMES WITH I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNIVERSITY TO ANY PROSPECTING STUDENT. ALL THE WINDOW DRESSING OF "WE CARE FOR STUDENTS" "WE HAVE HIGH STANDARDS", "TOP QUALITY EDUCATION" IS JUST FALSE ADVERTISING TO TICK THE CHECK BOXES OF SAYING THE RIGHT THINGS WITHOUT ANY QUANTIFIABLE FOLLOW THROUGH. THIS IS NOT A UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION BUT OR INDOCTRINATION. COMPLETE SCAM.

From the start, this hospital has been an absolute nightmare. My very first impression of Boston Medical arrived in the form of a voice-mail to my sibling wherein a staff member was cussing and insulting them. I wish with my whole heart we had taken that as our sign to discontinue treatment here. Through months of miscommunication, incorrect instructions, and a grand total of 3 surgical postponements, my sibling finally had their surgery today. The waiting room is stayed in for hours was the filthiest I'd ever seen. There were stains and debris littering the carpet. We'd arrived at just 8 a.m., so I'm certain it had been this way for a while. I watched the receptionist raise her voice, in English, to a man that did not speak any English, as if repeating the same thing he did not understand slower would make him get it. A bystander had to step in and translate for him because he was not offered an interpreter like many other patients were. Finally, when my sibling was ready to leave, our ride was given a phone number to call when he was outside to get us so that transport could wheel my sibling to the lobby. Not only did the phone number not work, but transport had me wheel them down instead. Once we arrived home we realized that the doctors neglected to give my sibling almost half of their prescriptions. They are refusing to transfer said prescriptions to our pharmacy even though we live hours away. To say I am disgusted with Boston Medical is an understatement of the highest degree. You should be ashamed, honestly.

The hospital is great but the front desk workers are so rude, they need to do some retraining. I can't count how many times I've been cut off in the middle of talking and put on hold with no explanation. They all seem to have snappy attitudes.

Careless or understaffed? Maybe both. I had a car accident and they never ordered a scan.. Still living with the pain.. Ask to go anywhere other than here.. Please get better.. I understand Jordan's frustration in these reviews.. If they do that, who's to say that they won't miss or disregard critical life threatening issues and you end up dying here..

First year was GCSE Level, second year was much harder. No tutor support unless you get lucky and get a good tutor (Already had to switch one tutor during my first year due to misconduct) Each tutor marks differently depending on a personal basis. (I got marked down for things other students did not and vice versa) Never responded to my appeal over a late TMA even though I was sick and had a doctor's note that I couldn't do any work for 2 weeks. Refuse to let me change from an open degree to a natural science degree even though I am doing all the same modules (they keep saying it would add 1 extra year to my degree which I don't want) If you are good at independent learning then this is for you. They also removed all in-person classes to save money, what am I paying for then? I basically pay £5700+ for exam papers and maybe a couple of textbooks. The information given on the module website is never enough or just taken from other free sources. Had to buy my own books to actually learn anything. I've even considered paying for a private tutor. EDIT: I'm now having to re-take my second year due to THEIR administration mistake and even though I've submitted formal complaints they refuse to fix it.

One night I walked myself to BMC ER, I got there about 4 am and waited in the waiting room until about 7 am. I'm not complaining but it was quite a wait and it got quite busy. I noticed how the triage worked, how they handled patients with fake problems, to drug problems, from psychiatric problems as well. I have a bad hip so they worked well with me. It was good experience they started system just doesn't work the way it could be. So they started all the processes right from the waiting room. They did the basics and checked me in. At about 7 to 8 am they finally brought me back into the ER. I was astonished at how many people were waiting in the hallways and in the rooms. Clearly overcrowded and very overworked but over all very professional. Each nurse was respectful and every doctor explained what their process was. I was worked up with every proper test and questions were properly asked. This is what I do have to say, each and every nurse had an Apple iPhone and utilized it to communicate with any and every non English speaking patient, ever without four walls hiding each patient everyone was as professional as they could be. Thank you for the experience. Mind you a few days before this experience I had been brought to Tufts and honestly the experience is apples and oranges

Very lazy nurses that finds it hard to pick your call and attend to your urgent needs, and doesn't understand how severe you need to be attended to. They give you the impression that everything is fine because they're so lazy to see you. Most times you have to wait for hours to receive your call back from them. The nursing assistants are so slow with their services as well, so as for the doctors. I feel like no one makes effort to do their job and give you a better service.

Been waiting to get an MRI for over 25 minutes. As im sitting in the hallway I hear the nurses and doctors in the room chit chatting and laughing. They fail to recognize that I have another appointment at 725 Albany St In 15 minutes. Worst hospital. Avoid this hospital at all cost. They even killed my father. He went to E R. and two weeks later he died. It just proves how horrible this establishment is. You don't enter a hospital with your feet and leave In a casket

Having been to a brick university before I can honestly say that studying with the Open University has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. The course materials are second to none and the O.U are flexible enough that if life gets in the way as it inevitably does, there are always options. The weekly planner divides the course up into manageable chunks and gives you a good idea of whether you're staying on track. Considering you have an average of 6-7 months to complete a module, the amount of information you take on is extraordinary and can be overwhelming but when you look back and realise what you have achieved, it's a feeling like no other. A word of warning though, be prepared to sacrifice your social life. The O.U can only give you what you're prepared to put in and sometimes you will have to prioritise studies over other more pleasurable activities but the rewards are worth it. The O.U are supportive, but we are adults, do not expect to have your hand held throughout the whole course, especially beyond your first year. Tutors are there for support, but do not expect them to be at your beck and call, the majority of them have other jobs and cannot always be there straight away. Do your research into each module, if you don't realise you have an exam at the end of your module, it will be because you didn't read the description, not because the O.U don't communicate. The only reason the O.U has a reputation for being harder than brick uni is because you have to juggle work, kids, partners etc. The marking system is the same. Don't expect to sail through, it will be challenging. Pay attention to your tutor's feedback, it is the only way you will improve a grade, and when it comes to second and third years, don't just rely on the given course material, be prepared to read wider and work harder! Like most things, the O.U will only give back what you give in, and what you give will pay dividends!

"A doctor who has no sympathy for a patient no empathy for a patient’s suffering has no right to practice this noble profession. On Tue morning I brought my extremely ailing father to Dr Sunali Shah’s Neurology clinic at Boston Medical for which I took an appointment 25 days back. I left home at 8:10 AM and as a result of a crash on the highway I was able to make it at 9:35 AM 15 minutes over the Scheduled time of appointment which was 9:20 AM. I requested the Assistent to request the doctor to consider to take the patient by the end of the clinic as a last patient. Assistant talked to the doctor but she refused. I begged for consideration for half an hour as my father was suffering from severe chronic pain and we got that appointment after waiting almost one month. She refused straight and told the assistant for a new appointment that after one month. This was what a pathetic and inhuman attitude I faced from a doctor which I never experienced from any other doctor in my life. I myself belonged to medical proffession. Drs are life savers who are like angels from God. More interestingly she is a professor of neurology in pain management and have no sympathy and empathy for patients suffering, she is involved in resident education and mentorship, what norms she would be transferring to her students."

I'm a mature student, nearing the end of my first 2 modules in Mathematics. I was very apprehensive about being able to cope but the teaching guides are excellent and interesting with a good balance of theory and application, also the online support is excellent with online tutorials, online screencasts and live online forums where students can post queries and receive help from other students and tutors. Also each student has a personal tutor to further explain things we don't understand. There is an excellent online week by week planner. There are online practice quizzes which were the greatest help for me to show where I needed more work. I study best on my own at my own pace so this has been perfect for me. I can't wait for my next 2 modules!! I'm halfway through my degree now and absolutely loving it. It's hard work but the OU has everything there to help. It has definitely been worth every hour of studying and is an excellent investment into my future. I started 2 more 2nd year modules in October 2018, then my circumstances changed at home. It soon became obvious to me that I would definitely not be able to cope with both modules so I rang up the OU student support team. They were very helpful and understanding. So I deferred one module. Then my situation got worse so that I could not study at all. My personal tutor was very patient and supportive and gave me sensible advice. He was able to postpone my first assignment by one week so I tried that weekend and was able to send it in. My situation is okay now and I'm back on track with my studies.I'm so glad I didn't stop the second module too.

So sad how this hospital turned out. I brought my mother in with an ambulance, she was shivering and had a fever. The two ladies that brought her in were AMAZING! The staff in the emergency however, were a disappointment. All the rooms were filled up with people from mass ave that were completely high. The doctor ran a bunch of tests, said everything was fine and sent us our way. (12am -5:30am) The next day I called my mothers pcp and turns out the tests they ran actually DID show an infection that needed antibiotics. Do these doctors even care? Or are they trying to just finish their shifts….

I would really suggest thinking twice before visiting BMC on an emergency basis. Not only was my treatment there awful and I received no relief at all when I was there to the point that I left and went to another hospital who took immediate care of me and treated me like an actual human, BMC's billing department is absolutely awful. They billed the wrong insurance and then took several months to send me a letter in the mail saying I owed them money. Now that the bill is over a year old, the health insurance that I was covered under may not pay it because they didn't submit a claim in a timely fashion. BMC has given me the runaround several times now via phone and I was met with hostility and attitude during my last phone call while basically begging them to submit a claim to my correct insurance so they could make a determination on whether or not they will cover the bill. Update as of 02/26/24, my insurance still did not receive anything from BMC billing department. Keep in mind, I have been calling them since the beginning of December and spoke to 6 different representatives in the billing department who assured me they were sending it over. Luckily my insurance company decided to hop on a three way call with me and BMC billing in which we were both informed by BMC that BMC never sent it to my insurance. Let me reiterate that I spoke to SIX different representatives and gave them my insurance info each time. Finally we have the ball rolling and a reference number that my insurance company received from Courtney today, the only helpful person in their billing department. This huge medical bill from a 30 min visit to the ER for severe head pain to which I was given TYLENOL, would have ended up in collections because of these people. So many balls dropped on their end. Please do not ever go here.

Communication - PLEASE! I wanted information about an Institute of Physics lecture at the Berrill Theatre, Milton Keynes and couldn't find it on the OU Website. The page which seemed promising led to a Page Error. I then Googled a phone number and saw the Milton Keynes address with, guess what - the Manchester phone number (but it was an 0300 number so I had no idea it was Manchester) The person in Manchester couldn't find anything about Institute of Physics lectures in Milton Keynes but after much cajoling he eventually found that there is one on 11th June. I am disabled and needed to know whether there is wheelchair access to the Berrill Theatre and could find no information regarding wheelchair access on the OU website. The Manchester person gave me a Milton Keynes phone number and the person who answered this time was most helpful. I find it incredible that the Open University (a bastion of knowledge?) can't even link a Milton Keynes address with a Milton Keynes phone number. I question their educational validity!

Have not had a good experience at this hospital. Different rules at different times of day. I was told I could not wait with my son who has an anxiety/panic disorder. But hours later waiting with no word to how surgery went, I have seen with my own eyes them letting people stay with patients in the waiting room. There needs to be a better system. Been here since 10:30am for a noon surgery and it is 3:15pm and still no word on my son.

DO NOT GO THERE! If you can avoid it or get your emergency care somewhere else! My elderly mother went to the Emergency Department for severe pain. She was triaged and kept in a chair for almost 24 hours before receiving a script for a new medication that she should have received 2 days prior when she went there. She used to think very highly of this facility and had refused to go elsewhere. I have no words for how this department cares for the elderly. The lack of empathy was very evident. I pray that you and your loved ones never have a non-traumatic issue that would require a visit in the Emergency Department. Unless you are actively dying, prepare to stay there for at least a day. This is not a joke! Bring your sleeping bag, a lunch box, and your phone charger. You will thank me later. One of the nurses asked my mother to walk and did not provide any assistive device although my mom came for severe intractable leg pain and the INABILITY TO WALK! What! Very very sad… I am leaving this review as a healthcare worker who knows what patient-focused care should be. I feel compelled to warn the masses!

Brought a friend in for day surgery. Surgery scheduled for 11am. He was told to be there by 9 a.m. Got checked in, then sat in the waiting area for 3 hours. We asked what was the delay, and the waiting room clerk said she’d ask… but then she grabbed her lunch bag and left. After another hour we asked, again. An Ice Queen wearing the title of “Charge nurse” came out to explain, this time. “Yah well, this happens. It’s not unusual.”, and walked away. Mind you, my friend had had nothing to eat or drink all day. They finally took him back at 2 pm. Wish I could say all was smooth sailing after that, but nope. Got a call from my friend at 4 pm. I thought he was done! Turns out they handed him a gown, got in his IV, and then left him alone for another 2 hours! In fact, they told him they didn’t know how much longer it might be, and asked if he just wanted to go home and reschedule his procedure for assisted day!!! I never did get any updates on my friend’s progress, and when I asked, I was told I just need to wait for the surgeon to call me. I also got “scolded” for using the restroom by the elevator (“those are for patients only!”) although there was no sign saying so. Then eventually ,the Same Day Surgery waiting room attendants left, promptly at 5pm. Not a word to the three of us still sitting there. They just shut off the lights and go. Then there’s NOBODY left for family members to reach out to. And the surgeon never called. I was eventually contacted by a recovery room nurse, who thought it was quite amusing to hear i had been in the waiting room for 10 hours. My friend said the surgeon never came to see him in recovery either. Very disappointed as I am a Registered Nurse and I’ve worked at a number of Boston hospitals, and this was just terrible customer service!

Poor service ever, I CAN NOT even give one star to BMC. My mother has been to BMC two times both time she receiver poor care. BMC DO NOT treat patients with caring, Value or Ethics. Hospitals should give patients freedom to choose when it comes to patient care. My mother refused freedom to have her own family member during her care. which is extremely important because when she gets discharged home guess who takes care of her at home? her family not BMC

started out good. Doctors would call with updates on my sister. Then I had to say something. When i called this last time I had to spell her name 4 times to 4 different people then sat listening to music for 15 to 20 minutes. I just hung up. that happened 2 times. I don't doubt the care care she is getting but for gods sake answer the phones!!

At about about 4:15 or for 4:20 I can of the emergency van admitting my mother. I was trying to give a drone what seem to be a male nurse my mothers card. And one other nurse male nurse had no care in the matter and wanted to distract the other nurses about getting Coffee while my MoM was in the hands of the Ambulance works. I then spoke up about this only to get a response, “ what we can’t talk about coffee” the disrespect over peoples live is unexceptional..,

Myself and many family members already gone elsewhere. We have had it with the unprofessional and unethical treatment from this facility. We've experienced and viewed the Rudeness, with attitudes towards other as well. 90% of calls never get answered. Sometimes get returned after weeks if at all after calling almost everyday. If your medications run out , good luck. Pharmacies can't even get a response. The messages you leave in there app are not answered as well. Even good doctors and professional staff have left. This administration obviously doesn't care by how it's being operated.

my older brother got in a motorcycle crash last week and he got hospitalized and sent to Boston medical and they did not give him any blankets food or pain medication to help with the pain. I don’t know what’s going on with medical care these days but it sucks so consumer be aware or review or be aware and watch where are you get your medical care

My first appointment was fine, though it took more than 9 weeks to schedule. My second followup appointment they told me would be telehealth. The day before, I got a text that made it seem like it would be in-person, so I called to confirm that it would be telehealth. They confirmed that the doctor would call my phone for a telehealth appointment at the specified time. The next day, no one ever called my phone, so after sitting on hold for 15 minutes and being hung up on twice, the person who finally took my call was extremely rude and condescending and said that they don't do telehealth appointments. I asked if I could speak to the doctor, since it was still my scheduled time, and they hung up on me again. A minute later, I got a text "confirming" a new appointment (telehealth) for ten weeks in the future. Extremely frustrating.

I recommend anyone going to this hospital do not go to see Sepehr Sekhavat MD, he is very insensitive & in my opinion a liar & not a trustworthy person. He does not seem to be very professional or knowledgeable. He does not have any personable skills dealing with patients who are sad or confused about situations they are in, instead he talks down about them calling them angry individuals etc. He also took some ultrasounds during my pregnancy and said my daughter had something wrong with her heart and he was totally wrong about it, so he scared me and my husband for nothing. I ended up getting a second opinion & ultrasounds at Boston Children’s Hospital and everything was normal & even had my daughter checked afterbirth and there was nothing wrong with her thankfully.

I was calling to get a follow up appointment with my neurologist (I have epilepsy and have still not been prescribed meds yet) Guess front desk redirected me to the wrong line and I ended up on the phone with some lady from Nephrologist, now this lady’s attitude was just terrible. She would interrupt me and talk over me loudly with attitude like I was her child or something. Literally wouldn’t let me talk. Boston medical needs to hire someone else. This is terrible.

Disclaimer: I am a white, thin, able bodied, english speaker. Having these privileges may have effected my experience here and people with marginalized identities may have a different experience than me. I came here for a UC flare that wasn't going away. All of the doctors and nurses I met were very friendly and seemed to care alot about my comfort while I was here! There were a ton of people in the ED so it was pretty busy and crowded but the nurses still checked up on me consistently to see if I needed anything and explained my test results to me when they were available. When I got a bed upstairs in the hospital, it was comfortable and the food was good, I ended up being here longer than expected because there were so many people but other than that my experience was very good. I felt that I was treated with kindness and respect and that the nurses were knowledgeable and helpful. I would come here again if I ever need to

It's no wonder people choose to go through life suffering rather than seek help with the outrageous medical costs we face here in the US. Spoke to an NP at Boston Medical Center last month for one of my children. It was a Telehealth visit for intake, under 60 minutes. 1st charge for the physician: $502 (okay, fine) 2nd charge "Ancillary Charge": $719 Ancillary charge was for the physican prepping the room for her call and using a laptop, according to a Supervisor at Boston Medical Center. I asked them why I wasn't given the option to have the intake appointment in person then, she said the charges would've been the same for the facility fee. Ae you kidding me?! $1,221 to talk to someone for an intake appt via zoom. I am absolutely beside myself. I don't even understand how that's possible. Disgusting. NP was wonderful though! ETA: After numerous phone calls and a lot of push back, I vocalized my concerns to the NP. I ended up getting refunded for the ridiculous facility fee, thanks to her!

My best experience in a hospital EVER. Everyone, absolutely everyone from the guys pushing my stretcher, exceptionally great nurses, interns, doctors to even the surgeon gave me such kind and compassionate treatment. Words cannot express how well treated I was and how very grateful I am. Made me cry. They will be in my prayers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've been trying to book an appointment with Dr. Phillips for over a year now because of autoimmune disease. I called last year and had to wait 6 months to see her, only to find out a week before my appointment needed to be rescheduled. I had to wait another 6 months to see her and just recently found out they lost ALL my information, had no records of me being in their system and was asked to call again middle June because they were not booking in-person appointment. Called today to try to sort things out since my appointment was supposedly in 2 weeks and the person who answered me told me I could only book an appointment after sending them a referral letter. I'm done with this place, after 1YEAR I'm still haven't seen the doctor, this is ridiculous, they should keep track of their patients files, so stuff like that doesn't happen.

I've never been to the open university campus site, though I'll still speak well of the premises all the same. Anything to do with precise education will always be an active appraisal to me, I'm a dysgraphic, dyslexia and dyscalculic sufferer, therefore I'm perpetually on my computer or iPhone learning reading and writing lessons all the time. I've got a permanent mental disability which affects my social life and industrial life. I'm highly glad to experience newer educational technology introduced into public society, specifically for people like my self who rapidly need every iota of assistance actively available. I definitely want to see education very rapidly advancing now and in the future, obviously, I'm going to need it. I'll be eventually going into residential home care in Central Birmingham, it's exactly what I'll be looking forward to. Thanks for reading this.

I been a patient at bmc for about maybe seven or eight years. The first experience i had with them was great, this is when I learned i had an herniated disc. Oh but it was not the surgeon who i was unhappy about, it was definitely the nursing staff. When a person does not feel well and they are telling you how to handle their bodies because they know them first listen to the patient. We know because we been through it we would say it if we didn’t. Second people come to the establishment because they trust their doctors car and doctors on call expertise. Not say that all nurses are not hard working people who risk their lives every single day especially in these unprecedented times but we all a little stressed. Of course their are patients who are sicker than others, but at the same time we are all at the establishment to get well. I went in because i had a fever. I drove myself in pain because i did not want to pay 600 to ride in the emt. Everyone makes mistakes lord knows i have a lot of them but when your trying to change you see things differently yes i may be passive aggressive at times or all the time. I'm that way because I changed i did not want to be the aggressor or should i say the mean girl. Listen karma is real good or bad it’s really real. So i just try treating others the way I would want to be treated.

I'd give zero stars if I could honestly. I went in for what I thought was a sprain and went in because this was the only place that took my insurance. Registering through this place was a pain. I got hung up on twice as I was trying to write information down and finally the third person stuck with me through the whole call and everything was all set. Then I booked a radiology appointment. Only to get them done have the doctor say, "I'm not gonna tell you what's wrong but you can look at the x-rays yourself. So I had to hobble over there on crutches and look so see that my ankle was actually broken. But instead of doing anything about it. They sent me home without a cast or anything. So Basically i get a nice big bill to my insurance for them to do nothing. I'm sitting here in bed with only a velcro brace on my broken ankle. I'm never going to this place again. Very lazy staff. No personality to anyone I came across. Just a very sketchy hospital overall and for them to send someone home with a broken ankle and no cast or anything is simply ridiculous.

Irresponsible worker, I have been going with the same insurance issue for two years. They somehow pulled my insurance and added it to my daughter, and now my daughter's insurance does not cover it. In every bill, I call them, they fix the problem and happen again the same error.

Currently experiencing the worst pain of my life because of an inadequate wisdom tooth removal procedure that left me extremely sore and with a wound that wasn’t properly sutured. This is my fourth day and I am suffering. I can’t believe this is the type of service you would get in one of the most progressive states. No wonder why people travel to countries like colombia to get dental work completed. So disappointed and will never go back.

So I was originally thinking of working for these people, but they are horrible. The call representative was so rude and vile and demeaning in the way she talked to me, whatever they can kiss off. What a Ghetto Hospital and a place that is very dangerous and unsafe and unsanitary. I hope that entire hospital gets shut down

I have been to this hospital a few times over the past month. My first few visits went fine and I was called in when my appointment was scheduled. I was supposed to return today, August 27th for a 8:30am appointment. I live about an hour from this hospital and expected traffic on my way so I left early enough so I could make it there in time for my appointment without being late. I arrived on time and checked in with the front desk. The receptionist was friendly when they informed me that I actually didn’t have an appointment and they purposely overbooked patients and some are considered “walk-ins” even though they made appointments. I was not happy with the way this hospital treats their patients. Some patient’s appointment matter, while others are just cast aside and left to hope they make the cut to be seen. I couldn’t believe how unprofessionally BMC operates. After waiting a few hours I was finally told that I may be seen sometime after 1pm!!! My appointment was scheduled for 4 1/2 hours earlier. If it wasn’t for my insurance I would never return to this place. They don’t care about anything but the check clearing. I would give them zero stars if it were possible.

She lied about referring me to a person who is saposed to work witb people who have ASD. I looked up that person's profile. This person is an NP, has no picture,, and does not List ASD as a specialty. I would give her 0 stsrs I would.

I competed 11 years with the OU, this is distance learning, and at university level, so 100% student centred learning what else can you expect. The delivery and contact has reduced for summer schools and regional centres and printed course material but I look at the OU as a gym membership, you can pay £1000/yr membership but the result depends on the effort you put into it, how often you are an active student, how much a part of your life it becomes and use of the internet as additional study material (no internet in my 11 years though). ... and hearing what my daughter has received in lectures in 3 years at Swansea uni for £9k per year OU is not too bad. Most colleges & unis have poor admin contact (unless its enrolment and course information). I will be looking at returning to the OU 2021 as post grad student. After all not much else out there as a recognised institution for the cost and flexibility. Only advice to give, if you are young, go to a brick uni as the OU seems to be more respected for mature people when sitting at a job interview.

Excellent university! After having been to a few brick universities where the support was limited or non-existent (particularly if you had health problems), I can honestly say that the Open University are great for student support. Even though it's distance learning, there are regular face-face and online tutorials and a helpful student support team. Tutors are available via email and/or phone and very supportive and understanding. Sometimes, there's a bit of a delay with tutors replying to emails, but no more of a delay than you'd expect at a brick uni, where you often need to make appointments to see staff. The materials are first class and contemporary, in fact brick unis use The Open University's materials! I have been studying here for 4 years (2nd year , part time) and I'm looking forward to graduating with my BSc in Psychology in 2 years time.

I've done a few online short courses with them but they are expensive. If you have the money to spare that is ok, but if you want to do undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses with them online, I would not recommend as you have to go through so many modules and pay more just to do undergraduate or postgraduate degree courses.

One forced shots on my daughter against my will on her check up and made me come for another "check-up" after the check up. Phone staff are ghetto and rude. They changed my doctor 3 times throughout my pregnancy and do not take women of colors health seriously. Just disgusting human beings

Everyone seemed nice, but the person doing my eye exam failed to notice there was an astigmatism in my right eye, which meant I got the wrong prescription. Then I gave my insurance card for to the BMC office telling them to charge anything I owe; they took the payment due, then I got a notice from the collections agency saying I owed money. So, my credit was affected for not paying an amount they kept from me for a prescription I couldn’t even use.

My brother has been in BMC for 3 months he was transferred there a hospital in southern Maine because they were not equipped to handle his injuries. They could not transfer him to Maine Medical Center because there were no beds because of the pandemic. We have been working to try and get him back to Maine we’re his insurance and family are. The case workers have been totally unable to handle this situation . We are working with Omsbud in Maine to try and locate a bed for him. Because of the pandemic it is not easy to find care for him. The case workers will not call the Omsbud case worker so he can get information regarding my brother to be able to place him. When I found a vacant bed and asked the case worker Olana to send his records she sent the wrong records and not the updated ones so we lost out on the bed. My brothers name is Paul Ramsey and we want him back in Maine. They will not even give his records to his health care proxy. I find this hospital totally unable to help us or any other patient.

First I do want to say that the actual medical care I received here was great, the providers were all excellent. However, my experience with the administrative and billing departments in particular was atrocious. I was billed incorrectly for a procedure which I never had done, and despite the doctor confirming this was the case with the office staff, my bill was never changed, and I was forced eventually (on threat of collection) to pay a co-pay for this procedure which I never had. All subsequent calls to the billing department and even the patient relations department were worthless; they strung me along saying my case was under review but nothing changed after a full year of following up. I would never come here for medical care based on this experience again, I was basically robbed.

Literally hate coming here every time I come here it's some nonsense. Especially in the emergency room. It's overcrowded, addicts taking up all the rooms, bathrooms are gross, the Drs and nurses are rude and they'll have you waiting hours just for bloodwork/urine. If primary care was doing walk-ins I wouldn't step foot in this emergency room.

I was going to give 1 star, but I can't penalize the professional individuals that take their jobs serious. Unfortunately, the face of BMC the intial points of contact entering the facility, the information call center, meaning the individuals that set the tone for your visit or interaction are less than professional. My mom was rushed to the hospital last night, I am trying to call to get an update on her status, I've call three time the first two times I was hung up on and that was after waiting for the individual to finish their conversation and actually acknowledging my call. The finally time I had to wait 1-2 minutes for the individual that answered to acknowledge the fact that she answered the phone, she immediately put me on hold, when she came back she was impatient and rushing me. She transferred me and after being on hold for about 10 minutes the call dropped. I would be at my mom's side if I were in Massachusetts, but since I can't be by her side I should be able to call the healthcare facility to speak with someone to be sure my mom is okay. They have a handful of professional staff, but for the most part I have never had a good experience dealing with this facility... They need to revamp their frontline staff! The face of your facility is the frontline, it doesn't matter how great your physicians are if no one wants to walk in the door.

I am a patient who has been checking my liver every 6 months for many years at the Department of Center for Digestive Disorders in the BMC hospital. I want to express my gratitude and respect to Lizabeth Cline, NP, who stands out for her accuracy and the creation of a warm and very communicative doctor-patient environment. He listens more attentively and calmly to everything I say. Simplicity in communication and continuous follow-up of my condition makes Mrs. Lisabeth stand out to me from others. I went in to get an STI panel done due to my partner testing positive for something. It’s been almost a month now since I’ve gotten my results, it’s also been almost a month since I’ve been treated. It seems like no one but the nurses are able to send in the prescription, yet they’re also never around. My partner was able to get tested and treated before he even left the place, yet I’ve been playing phone tag for about a month now. I have yet to receive my results OR any treatment at all. This is completely absurd and unsafe. While I appreciate what this place does for people without insurance, it’s certainly not an experience that leaves me EVER wanting to come back. The people who handle the phones in the STI department have been extremely kind and understanding. While they are unable to put in the actual prescription, they’ve at least taken the time to hear my grievances and have made notes everytime to the nurses .

Possibly the worst hospital. My first time ever attending, I arrived on time to my appointment, they couldnt find my two insurances and sent me to an insurance advisor across the room, after he checked that I was indeed covered, he sent me back to see the doctor, I was told I was late now for the appointment, through no fault of my own. I had my two month old with me. The second time I called to make an appointment, I was told to call back in two weeks.. and the third time I got transfered to every department and didnt even get to make an appointment. Basically, I was in deperate need of psychological help and received absolutely no help. I dont even know what else to say, I couldnt even get in.

A few weeks ago… An elderly person was very sick and literally bedridden. She called to speak to a doctor and they wouldn’t even talk to her. She couldn’t even talk by herself. Her emergency contact had to do that for her. She was suffering and all they can offer her was a lousy telehealth call days away. Had she waited any longer… It would’ve been deadly. Because of you and your terrible services… They are no longer using your services and letting you know that publicly. It seems like you chased away all the good and useful doctors. All it has been in the past several years it’s just trash service for elderly people. I hope other people see this before going over there with any real emergency at all. You might just be left to die.

It was okay until they wouldn't give me my ADHD and my anxiety meds. They told me I had to pick one. I had two doctors before for two and a half years at BMC, and it wasn't a problem. BMC helped me at one point. They helped me discover my ADHD. My disorder did not appear when I was young. I did well in school, etc. When the other docs left, I'm stuck with this overly strict doc. They weren't as nice the other doctors. If you have two disorders that require two different kinds of meds I guess you have to choose. Tough luck. There were competent nurse practitioners and docs there years ago; I'm not sure now. I haven't been there. Great trauma center and neonatal unit. Not-so-great outpatient psych. I'm not speaking of the inpatient-only outpatient. I’ve never seen the inpatient or been a patient. One of the good docs I had was an inpatient doctor as well, and he was terrific. So I would think if he were part of it, it would be good.

Dont use their dental program! Two moths post surgery I'm still in pain! Dr. Henry fractured my tooth during surgery!! -Drs had to re-sedate me because I kept waking up panicking mid procedure -While heavily sedated, I remember being shaken and yelled at to open my eyes while unable to move -Woke up choking and unable to swallow, then I had a panic attack, Dr. Henry and resident had no idea why or how to treat -Mom had to tell the dr that my tongue was swollen/hanging out and thats why I couldn’t breathe. She had to lean me forward herself so I could breathe again -Had to ask for an ice pack, should have two wrapped around head which is the typical protocol -Resident asked for medical history, no one looked it up before surgery -Mentioned my jaw was so dense he couldn’t pull the teeth so they had to cut into the bone. I have bone growths from the pressure of grinding/TMJ and he should have known better -Refused to let my mom pull up car out front, Mom had to hold me/ walk me thru streets of boston while drugged and falling over -Ruined crown and had to glue it back on -Only given low dose pain meds for “night time use,” even though he promised better pain care since im in chronic pain already -No post op information package about warning signs or emergency phone numbers, had to find paperwork on the wall for instructions -No follow up appointment was made while I was there - resident who made check in phone call said me and my moms report on my choking was “untrue” and that it “never happened” clearly they’re in denial and refusing to take responsibility for what they put me through

I read an article by Jeffery Samet MD, Michael Botticelli and Monica Bharel MD about making Methadone legal for primary care doctors to prescribe. It was very well written and shows that our government has no desire to stop heroin usage or save lives. America is so sold out to the private prisons and expensive rehab centers that they won't even let our personal doctors prescribe a medicine that would cost the patient less than $10.00 a day if they had no insurance. I just hope somebody in power will help fix this .

A few years ago when the teachers openly interacted with their students and even help put you at ease, I would have highly recommended this way of education. Nowdays your teacher sends out a generic email to all of you introducing their self and that is it. The level of service currently being provided has been inadequate to say the least.

Amen to all the staff at BMC you are all Heroes. Hard working. Only thing is the emergency room is Not being Cleaned for hours as sick patients come and go. I myself had to have them call for housekeeping to clean up bloody tissue. Patients where vomiting and waithing to be seen some just left due to the long wait and not one emergency worker came out to check to see if patients were ok due to the long wait. 💕😷🙏 Putting a nurse station for quicker service might help in a times like this just to monitor the patients coming into the emergency room to be seen making sure people are ok as they wait is also important. Provide fresh water/crackers while people wait some people don't have money so a long wait can be upsetting for a person in need of care. Creating new jobs can call them ED patient attended.

My 7 year old spent 11 hours there before getting his wound stitched up. A severe laceration that damaged his growth plate. This happened on a very hot day, he was told he couldn't eat or drink because he may go into surgery. After the 11 hours he was sent home and didn't get surgery until 2 days later at a different hospital. It was a traumatic experience. Can't believe a 7 year old had to sit there holding his own finger together for 11 hours. Nobody even cleaned the wound.

Very pleased with my doctor, very displeased with BMC's completely dysfunctional communications structure and administration. It is impossible to communicate with my doctor. Attempts to leave messages by phone, even when great care is taken to explain and repeat back the message have failed. BMC maintains a web based patient portal. Competent attempts at obtaining a registration code (via the web) have failed (still no response after 10 days). Attempts to use an alternate phone number to obtain a registration code have likewise been futile after exceedingly long wait times forced me to give up.

Second: they gave him the wrong appointment date, and told us to wait to see if the doctor could take us. After waiting an hour, and asking for an update, they said “oh we forgot hold on”, while chatting and laughing, then told us we could either wait an extra hour, or come back at 12 pm, or drive back into Boston tomorrow. No apology or urgency to help, just lazy and unprofessional. What a joke of a practice

I came here for day surgery and everyone was really good. All of the nurses and the doctor were great. The surgery was fine.

The emergency department is horrible. I went in to visit my family member and noticed the machine was going off making noise and lightning up red. I went to look for someone and about 8 minutes later a person in a tye dye hoodie came in, started pressing buttons on the machine, finds a plug on the floor and starts screwing it into the wall, keep in mind my loved one has been in the ER room for alittle over an hour for trouble breathing. I asked “was the machine working”? The tie dye hoodie nurse says “yes, it is working”. Another nurse entered and checks the machine, she tells her the tank is empty and switches it out then I asked Tie dye hoodie nurse can the caregiver of my loved one come back as well because the front desk attendant that walked me back explained that we could ask according to what’s best for the family for how many visitors should be allowed. She responded with an attitude and said well I’m the nurse and I don’t want more than one person back here. This did not sit right with me because the waiting room was a zoo and my family of 2 wanted to be together for a moment. And if it wasn’t for me coming in when I did how much longer would she have waited to check that machine. Families need to be in back maximum 2 because these nurses Are NOT paying attention! It’s sad, and I will not be returning here for treatment. Nurse tie dye hoodie on in the ER trauma unit needs to be re trained, that attitude in the voice is very unprofessional! However, I’m not going to alone this incident to steal the shine from the amazing people that work hard at this facility! I just wish these reviews are looked more into to weed out the ones who bring the place down

Very unhappy with my experience in their emergency dept after suffering an accident on the MBTA. My wound was never cleaned or dressed! I had to go in the bathroom and do it myself; and the bathroom facility was very dirty. They sent me for X-rays and cat scan and lost track of me. I was left laying in a hallway until somebody could figure out where I should go. Also, why did I see no dark-skinned medical caregivers? The only people I saw were Asian and White. The Brown and Black people were all maintenance and orderlies.

Today I had surgery at Boston Medical Center and as soon as I arrived I was greeted by an extremely friendly girl who registered me, then I was taken to my room and Nurse Marine introduced herself and took care of me with a lot of love, I'm afraid of needles so she called another nurse who held my hand and gave me strength in the midst of my fear, I felt very welcomed, soon after I was introduced to two surgeons who answered all my questions with a beautiful smile on their faces , soon after I met the anesthetist who explained everything that would be done to me in an extremely professional way, after that I was taken to the operating room and met Dr. Linda who since the first time I saw her I felt in love with her confidence and professionalism! When I woke up from surgery I met another nurse who helped me at all times and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. When I could leave I was taken to the exit by a gentleman who even with the really cold weather outside left me at the door of the car I was in! I went to the hospital scared, anxious and they managed to make me fell comfortable, calm and welcoming! Right now I am resting with a heart full of happiness and gratitude for this extremely attentive and friendly team. Thank you!!! Giving 5 stars but I could give 1000 ⭐️

This hospital staff is really not good. The nurses all seem to be preoccupied with one another and when they finally talk to you it seems like they walked in off the street with no real knowledge about their profession. The lobby is discussing and not cleaned and makes you feel like you are in a psych ward of an old horror movie. Go somewhere else.

Wouldn’t even give it one star but it wouldn’t let me write a review otherwise. I made my first patient visit asked the lady on the phone if it was in person she said yes. Well I come all the way to Boston and guess what no one know what they are doing. Complete disaster o didn’t even mind the homeless people at this point but the sober workers are really just something else. Seek care else where this place need organization.

I had surgery last week and my PACU nurse Bonnie was excellent and I got admitted and the nurses I had Staci & Kim were amazing they were there before I ever rang the nurse buzzer. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable enough and to answer all my crazy questions. My day nurse Dina was the same way excellent care.

Had a great experience with the OU back in 2009, but then in 2010, whilst doing another module I had a poor tutor called Jo Bath, whom is now a published author. She failed to help me or communicate with me. She completely failed me with the lack of support she gave me. As a result I never studied again with the OU. Now you have to pay for your course, and what the TV ads don't say is that just one 60 point module costs 2600 pounds. They no longer provide financial assistance to poor people like me that cannot afford to pay. I could have gained a history degree by now, but I will never study with the OU again!

In my experience, sadly I can't possibly give a good mark to the Open University. I eventually gained a Criminology and Phychology degree with high expectations of gaining a high mark with all the hard work I put in from studying for six years. However i only came out with a 2.2 because of my final 60 credits i have suffered from depression and anxiety, since loss of my family and had great marks throughout the six years studying. However my final course affected my mark and lowered my qualification to a 2.2. I was told I would be contacted to explain why I had no support in my final course. My tutors was all great except the final one. I wish I'd have chosen a different course now I never heard any response back as to why I was lowered down to the 2.2 grade. . If I'd chosen a Brick University, I was told I'd have gained a 2.1 at least with my marks. I am very disappointed and would not recommend to anyone hoping to gain a good degree with higher standards. This university lower your grades and you have no say if your graded lower.

My dad spent a few days at Boston Medical Center and on the day he was being discharged they prescribed him Augmentin which is a penicillin antibiotic. My dad is HIGHLY allergic to penicillin and it is in his medical files and he was also wearing a red ALLERGY bracelet. Before he left, I asked them to confirm they DID NOT prescribe him penicillin and they told me they prescribed something that didn’t contain penicillin. Due to them prescribing my dad the wrong medication, he had a SEVERE reaction and ended up back in the hospital a day after being discharged. This hospital is understaffed and rushing during their shifts causing severe harm to patients.

My dear nephew was admitted as an unknown and Nurse Practitioner Taylor worked hard to identify him. I am so grateful to her and to Dr. Herman who cared so much for an unknown and did everything they could for him. My nephew passed away but I want the world to know that Taylor and the doctor went above and beyond by the way they handled this situation. it may be just another day for them but for us it was everything to know where he is and what he went through. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

For back pain I went to see orthopedic. After listening me they took decision to take MRI and trigger point injections, I am glad and thanks for that. When I went to see neurosurgeon, she was very professional and flying in the room, I asked her about my MRI & she has only one line to say I am here for trigger point injections I don’t know about your MRI. She was rushing everything. I believe she check me out in just 3-4 minutes. You can’t talk or ask anything as they are in control and you have to see them again until you fix your things. Parking valet facilities are good for new patients who came for the first time, parking garage is just in front of main entrance showed my lady clerk on the ground floor. Over all, make sure you don’t leave room until you resolve all questions or queries in your head. They not going to talk or tell anything useful to you, You have to keep asking them

I went to the emergency room to get mental health treatment on the anniversary of my girlfriend's death and the nurses there called her brother into my room , who I didn't know at the time was a Boston policeman working there at the hospital. He came in and harassed me for her death while trying to recieve treatment . Since her death I've been a homeless addict in the Mass. Ave area and think about her on a daily basis.

I usually go to Brighams and Woman but my partners insurance doesn’t cover them. Their hospitality was sub-par and didn’t listen to information that my partner shared with them which would have saved us and them time. The ER had a lot of suspicious people, someone was literally arrested, a child threw up on the floor the mother let them know and she ended up wiping the floor but no one else stepped in the clean the floor. This hospital patient management is very questionable.

Decent hospital. Make sure you advocate for yourself. I went in for an head/ neck injury and they didn’t do any type of testing… Rude staff. Seriously. Why are the desk workers so snappy with attitudes?

I don't like posting reviews. However. The so-called staff, at this place, are horrible people. Almost two months ago, a certain mental health intern, who worked at family health center I go to, faxed referral letters to a "certain" department. They've also called and left messages. No one, from BMC, called them back. I've also called and left messages! They didn't call me back! When I emailed them last week, and cussed them out, I got a response and a call back!!!!! I still had to register, AGAIN, even though I had already registered almost a year ago!!! I emailed them, AGAIN, yesterday. I got a response, this morning, stating that the received certain documents, except the referral letter. I AM SICK AND 🤬 TIRED OF INSINCERE, LYING, IMMATURE, CARELESS, LAZY, "WORKERS"!!!! SINCE THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT CARING, DON'T WORK IN HEALTH CARE!!! THAT IS COMMON SENSE. SHAME ON THEM AND THEIR PARENTS!!!!!

Boston Medical Center just keeps getting larger. When I first started going there about 25 yrs ago. The entire place was on Harrison Ave. Then a bunch of docs and nurses moved into the new facility on Albany st into the new Shapiro bldg. Great place. They have a Doc for everything. Then over the past few yrs. They also took over 801 mass Ave. It's all on the backside of the bldg. Mostly Primary care docs. I've had the same PCP for as long as I've been going into Boston medical. Almost 25 yrs. Just a fantastic place for everyone

Easily the worst ER in the Boston area. I’ve been in the waiting room for 5 hours and they have done nothing but check my blood sugar. Go anywhere else.
