Hi,
I
was
scheduled
for
knee
replacement
surgery
on
28th
February
2020.
I
went
to
NEBH
for
my
prescreening
on
19th
February,
expecting
an
exam,
and
maybe
a
couple
of
blood
tests.
I
was
a
new
patient,
In
fact
I
didnt
even
know
this
hospital
existed
until
I
met
my
surgeon.
As
I
arrived
at
NEBH,
I
did
expect
two
to
five
hours
there,
because
it
was
clearly
explained
to
me.
That
my
prescreening
would
be
at
Least
two
hours.
So
on
19th
February
I
had
a
thorough
medical
history
going
over,
and
I
had
some
tests,
they
did
an
EKG,
and
some
blood
work.
They
did
xrays
of
my
knees,
they
saw
that
my
results
Needed
some
extra
visits
with
a
NP.
Who
spent
two
hours
with
me
,
i
saw
another
orthopedic/spine
doctor,
and
they
had
me
see
one
of
their
cardiologists,
because
my
cardiologist
wasnt
available
at
that
time.
I
was
treated
like
royalty
,
and
was
very
impressed
with
my
prescreening
.
It
was
a
long
day,
but
the
staff
went
over
my
full
medical
history
and
did
an
awesome
job
of
making
me
feel
welcome.
On
the
28th
of
February
,
my
original
surgery
date,
I
had
to
be
at
the
hospital
for
10.00am.
So
we
arrived
around
eight
thirty.
I
registered,
and
because
we
were
told
my
surgery
would
be
at
1.00pm,
I
expected
to
go
down
to
the
prep
area
at
that
time.
I
was
called
in
earlier
and
got
to
be
well
cared
for
during
my
prep
time.
I'd
mentioned
on
the
day
of
my
prescreening,
that
I
had
a
urine
infection.i'd
been
on
antibiotics
though.
They
explained
that
I'd
be
on
IV
antibiotics,
because
that
was
a
normal
part
of
the
surgery.
All
patients
were
given
IV
antibiotics.
So
I
went
through
the
prep
time,
and
had
gotten
all
my
preperation
done.
My
IV
was
placed,
I
met
my
doctor,
and
was
really
impressed,
that
he
was
on
time.
He
arrived
at
twenty
minutes
to
one.
Unfortunately
at
the
very
last
minute
my
surgery
was
cancelled.
But
it
was
for
a
really
good
reason.
I
still
had
the
urine
infection
.
At
the
time
we
had
also
heard
that
covid
19
was
in
the
USA,
but
as
yet
it
hadn't
started
spreading.
Or
wasn't
a
threat.
So
I
go
home,
and
my
surgery
is
cancelled
three
more
times
because
of
covid
19
starting
to
spread.
I
shared
my
story
because
my
experience
with
the
medical
staff
was
awesome.
They
took
great
care
of
me,
even
though
my
surgery
got
cancelled.
I'm
supposed
to
be
rescheduled
for
24th
June
2020
now,
but
I'm
not
sure
if
it
is
going
to
happen,
because
of
the
restrictions
with
covid
19.
I
wanted
everyone
who
reads
this
though
,
to
know,
that
everyone
was
very
professional
and
treated
me
so
wonderfully,
yes
I
was
disappointed
that
I
could
have
already
been
recovered
from
My
surgery
by
now.
But
I
am
also
glad
that
I
experienced
such
awesome
care.
Thankyou
Dr
Pugliano
and
your
team
for
showing
me
how
special
I
was,
on
both
days.
You
will
all
be
well
cared
for
at
NEBH.
I
wish
you
all,
who
read
this
A
very
speedy
recovery,and
all
the
best
with
your
surgery.
This
hospital
is
wonderful.
