A Libertarian’s paradise. Creative, healthy, delicious food and thoughtful yet tasteful interior design. Reasonable pricing comparing to other similar food-serving coffeehouses. A few bonus points showing their dedication to quality: + Intelligentsia Coffee + Unsweetened premium matcha + Freshly-pressed ginger/turmeric shots A perfect weekend reading/studying/hanging cafe for all age. I’ll keep coming back to exhaust their menu.

Honestly so pleasantly surprised! The space is huge with plenty of seating, outlets, wifi, and really excellent decor. I got a breakfast bowl, which I thought was very reasonable given the price, size, and freshness of the food. I bet it gets crowded here but I would definitely come here again during the quieter morning hours.

What an amazing option for the ones we are vegetarian, vegan and trying to eat healthy food. The decoration is incredible and the vibe is perfect! A 10!

I like life alive other branches , but this branch has the most inconsistent service. This is my second time trying it and my order wasn’t made according to the recipe at all. My blue ocean latte tasted so bad! They need to train their staff to follow recipes.

I love the buddha bowl and the sauces they have available on the counter. The vibe is friendly and in great accesible location to many parts of BU campus. I also like their green goddess bowl. Update: I am changing my review from a 5 star to a 3 star because of two back to back failed experience here. Once I had a Buddha bowl which smelled like hand sanitizer. I also saw another lady throw away her bowl same visit and I was like what’s wrong with people throwing away their food until my own food arrived and I realize oh yeah there’s literally hand sanitizer mixed with everything specially with pomegranate that I added as special request. On the second visit, I asked for iced coffee since Starbucks was closed and I was unwell to walk till Cafe Nero and I decided to get a coffee from this place before going to my physical therapy appointment. Basically I paid $6.5 for a coffee which was so bad that I throw it away after a few sips. What’s more, they don’t have any sort of bakery or pastry while they offer coffee which is rather bizarre. Specially that they have breakfast menu. Adding some pastry/bakeries would improve their quality or I would say removing the coffee altogether from their menu.

This is pretty much the only place I eat out. I’m a high raw plant-based eater & I work for a plant-based cardiologist. I really appreciate their superb managers Mo & Grace. I want to thank Mo especially for being so kind to me! It’s much appreciated, young man! I feel confident this company is headed in the right direction with management like Mo & Grace. I’m looking forward to the Dedham location opening as this is close to my home.

Life Alive near Boston University on Commonwealth Avenue used to my favorite place for lunch. The food and drinks are creative and delicious. My favorite drink is the Blue Magic which a shake. I also like the cashew cauliflower soup, the living Caesar salad. Then earlier in 2022, service started to decline. Why, I don’t know. The staff does encourage tipping even though the casual restaurant isn’t the type of establishment where you should have to tip because you still have to bus your own table. The supply of clean water glasses was not replenished. I asked a male employee (mid-length dark hair) who had brought me part of my order about the glasses and he told me to walk to other end of the restaurant to where the other garbage can was to get a clean glass. I thanked him. At Life Alive, the customer gets a lettered sign for the table so the employees know where to bring the orders. The male employee knew I still had another item coming, so he left the sign on my table. A half hour passed by and I didn’t get my salad so I looked towards the kitchen and noticed the mid-length hair employee looking at me from the kitchen where he was standing. I went to the cashier who rang me up and told him I hadn’t received my entree. The cashier insisted that he didn’t charge me and thus, I wasn’t getting the item. Thankfully, I had the receipt, showing that the cashier did indeed charge me. Do I think the mid-length dark haired employee deleted my order or kept it for himself or someone else? I absolutely believe so. Also, looking at the photos I posted, there are differences in how a dish can look, depending on who prepares it. The cashew cauliflower soup can taste extraordinary from the extra toppings one employee adds on or it can taste bland from another worker skimping in the ingredients. Same with the Blue Magic drink. Sometimes there is a magical dusting of cobalt blue powder on top and other times, there is nothing sprinkled. Sometimes the wheatgrass is thick like it should in consistency and other times, it tastes watery. The restaurant should have more consistency in its preparation and service.

Absolutely beautiful new location for Life Alive & super delicious creative menu, which I especially appreciate since I’ve gone completely vegan in the past year! Eating raw vegan (they’re not just raw & vegan though - also vegetarian) is very good for you & this place makes it scrumptious. Today I tried the watermelon poke - savory & filling - and the lavender lemonade.

My son prefers vegetarian food any day. And I am vegan 4/7 days in a week. It was snowing and we wanted something hot. The Ramen noodles displayed tempted us to step in . We tried the soups and mango smoothie . Taste wise , it does not taste like usual restaurants because the food is all natural . You can taste it and feel it in every bite. We enjoyed it and plan to go again to try their innovative salads. Do take a look at the menu to see how innovative their food menu is . The ambience is very chill . Looks like a haunt for college kids. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I have worked here for about 3 years on and off and I have loved every day I worked here. I cherish all the workers and all the guests. I really love the atmosphere in this location. The atmosphere is mostly the reason I come back all the time. So eccentric and diverse of a space. The guest service has always been above average too. Thank you so much for making my work experience enjoyable and fulfilling to me.

Had yet another great meal at Life Alive (Brookline). The service has always been good, but Mo took it to another level for our family. There was a small mistake with my wrap and even though he was clearly quite busy, Mo personally saw to it that my sandwich be fixed in a jiffy - all with warmth and a sincere wish that we have a good experience. The space is huge, bright, thoughtfully designed and decorated. Attention to detail is everywhere, from the ceramic ware to the top quality ingredients. We will return again and again. Edit 11/14/23 Had yet ANOTHER amazing lunch at Life Alive! Try the Autumn Falafel bowl. So much nutrition and flavor especially for the price. Thank you Life Alive!

Great place for a coffee, a smoothie or a light and healthy meal. Also a great place to bring your laptop and get some work done :)

Incredible atmosphere - great place to complete some work, study, hang out with friends, etc.. I usually really enjoy the food, but on my last few visits have noticed a decline in quality. Most recently I got the falafel bowl, which had very little dressing. Some of the broccoli was cooked and some was not. In the visit before I elected to add feta to an entree but found that it wasn’t added when I went home even though I paid extra. The drinks are good though - I really like the lavender lemonade!

Really interesting sort of vegan/veg/smoothie spot on Comm Ave by BU. The atmosphere is pretty cool with nice seating both inside and outside. Went here on a hot day and by-gollie that smoothie really hit the spot. Also, ostensibly, in the hit Netflix movie “Spencer Confidential” the main character, Mark Wahlberg attends this fine establishment, and uses the bathroom in a rather interesting way. Just wash your hands when you leave.

The perfect stop for a quick bite! The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was delicious! The avocado toast tasted as good as it looked and the drinks were just as fresh. The compost bin along with trash and recycling was also nice to see.

It’s so refreshing to find a place for vegetarians! Everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the hummus platter and the mocha drink. Definitely going back again!

Over priced and low quality. I ordered the rainbow bowl which included broccoli and kale. Instead of broccoli heads, they cut up the stalks of either the broccoli or the kale and put those in the bowl. There was minimal kale in the bill, aside from the cut up stalks. I ate the rice and some of the roasted tofu. I ordered the vegan chili, which is quite small for the price, but it was good. Overall the portions are very small for the price. I spent nearly $40 getting these items delivered and will need to order somewhere else because 1/4 of the bowl was broccoli or kale stalks. I won’t be ordering food from here again. Update: I emailed Life Alive asking for a refund. They told me they couldn’t refund me because I placed the order on DoorDash and recommended I ask DoorDash for a refund. They offered me a $20 gift card that can’t be used online or with delivery orders. Buyer beware.

You know when it’s the holidays and you’re about half a pumpkin pie, 2 lbs of turkey, and god knows how many other rich foods deep.. and you realize you just need some whole foods and greens? That’s where I was at when we were looking for dinner the other night. Life Alive has a really cool vibe, with a very yummy menu. The portions were much bigger than expected, and the flavors were so on point. It was the exact heavy dose of vegetables that I was so desperately craving. I also got a butternut squash latte that was so divine on a chilly night. I will make this a regular place to eat.

Mackenzie was just delightful! She was so friendly and recommended the best options ever for me and my friend! We were hesitant about steering away from our normal choices but she really convinced us to try something new, and boy was she right! I really recommend the blue ocean latte!!

I went here after a long day, and their food perked me up! I got the mushroom ramen. Delicious! The broth had a rich taste, and their noodles were chewy without being mushy. The vegetables made it healthy but not heavy. It also has a fun atmosphere with the periodic table on the wall and open kitchen. It's refreshing.

I really enjoyed my meal from this location. I ordered the Thai Peanut Sutra via Door dash. They carefully packaged my meal to ensure no tampering. Though this was for takeout, they still took the time to plate this meal aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And what's even better, is that it tastes just as amazing. It was perfectly seasoned and sauced and everything was cooked properly. The veggies and brown rice were tender and fresh. I was left feeling completely satiated from my meal, as it had the portion was very generous.

Visited this place last October while in Boston for the race. I am not vegan or vegetarian but this has become a favorite of mine. It was the first stop when I got back to town to race in April. I love meat but my goodness, this place could convert anyone! Staff is great and service is great. You have a fan from Georgia.

Amazing spot right on campus for BU students. The interior is beautifully decorated and rightfully a popular study and hang-out spot. Eat-in service is always quick and efficient. Fairly large menu. Only thing is that, with any varied menu, it can be very hit or miss, so definitely read reviews or ask opinions before trying something new. I love their drinks, especially the Mexican Chocolate. It's a little pricey but nothing outrageous. The bowls especially are really filling and can usually last me for 2 meals, so I think it's worth the price. One of my favorite go-to's.

Cozy, comfy place to eat. Lively and nice decor. Taste good, fair price, free water, lots of seats, good place to work. Vegan friendly.

I don't know who manages this place, but pew, this was bad. The food was actually ok, but the place comes across as very pretentious. That pretense tumbles quicker than a mikado heap when you realize that all that food readied for delivery is prioritized over your food, and you wait almost an hour to get a stupid salad. And that, after you remind them after about 30 min. NOTE: If you don't have the capacity, don't take orders for delivery. Don't make people wait eons for their food who actually are at your place, that is disrespectful. And, if one table orders food together, bring the food at least halfway at the same time. Nobody likes to eat while the others are still waiting, and no-one likes to be hungry while the others are already eating. The worst dining experience I had since ages.

Delicious, healthy food, in good portions but with impeccable presentation, and served quickly! All wrapped in an intimate, clean, natural atmosphere makes for a great eating experience, sans any guilt or angst. And the theme is fantastic, drawing attention to their ingredients and paying homage to the science. Worth the price... will be returning soon.

I love to visit any local vegan / raw / health-focused restaurant I stumble across and Life Alive has been my Boston stop for a couple of years now. My favorite restaurant back home went bust during the years-long shutdown, so it is so nice to be back in a similar setting here. Everything is prepared right before you in their central kitchen, and there are many, many spots to sit and enjoy a meal, study, work, visit with friends… The vibrations are high here!
