Nice little park in the city with some history. It's got a raised center area with a grain storage tower with some civil war history. We went Saturday morning and were lucky to catch one of the local guides who explained the history tonus. You might want to check on the timing of those guides.

Beautiful park to have a picnic and relax. Not a large park but it is on a tree filled hill with historic buildings and little plaques for you to read. Close to Ball, Davis and Teal squares. Somerville holds events here Spring through the fall. No playground, which is nice. But there is a slide that looks about 70 years old. Side walks around this park are horrible. They have not touched them in over 10 years. Needs more trash barrels.

This is a nifty little park with surprisingly varied terrain. There are grassy lawns, reasonably dense trees, rock walls, and pathways up and through rocky outcrops, culminating in the iconic Powder House itself at the top of a hill. Sadly you can't go in. Don't miss the Pickle Factory memorial stone, with attached bronze pickle jars.

5 stars for what it is: a tree filled park near busy Davis square centered around a revolutionary era powerhouse. The park is mostly a rocky hill with many trees, grass on top and most of the sloping side. One side is bare and rocky with a small slide tucked among the rocks. Many benches line the surrounding walkways. Good for urban escape, picnics and activities that don't require a lot of flat space.

Beautiful park, plenty of recreational space, wonderful for photos. This park has a lot of character and we had a great time. Come have a picnic here when you get a chance.

Lovely little park with paved footpaths. Be sure to head to the top of the hill to see the old mill/gunpowder tower that gave Powderhouse its name. Take the time to explore the whole park--there are a lot of small plaques, statues, and sculptures with quirky details of the park's history.

Small but always a nice place to walk around or grab a bench to sit on. Lots of trees and a small field you can bring a dog or lay out a blanket. Also has some historical items like the powder house which is cool too see.

We sing acapella shape note music from the Sacred Harp, outside, up by the mill, from 10:30 till 12:30, on the Saturday before the 4th Sunday of each month - depending on weather.

Very Handsome and educational. The tower was use to make and store gunpowder for the American revolution, also there are battlements that protected the powderhouse

I've been using this park for over 9 years. It's beautiful, historic and usually peaceful. Unfortunately it seems to have been discovered and in good weather is often inhabited by multiple groups, couples and sunbathing locals. Not the end of the world but it ruins the previous illusion of an oasis in a city. Two years ago there was an amazing food truck festival once a week. Despite my previous issue with overuse, this festival was a gem. It was good food that brought out the locals, college students and new families to mingle, bond and enjoy the wonderful evenings. When visiting this park keep an eye out for small plaques, signs and info about the site, it's history and even on the trees.

It would be perfect if there are public restrooms near the park.
