We came here at 5pm. The place was pretty busy. Service was good. We got the Smokey Mango Mai Thai, Bee Stings wings, Hot Honey Roni Pizza, Wagyu Sliders, Buffalo Dip, Clery's Famous Steak Tips, and Southend Cheesesteak. All of the dishes were tasty. You can definitely tasty the quality in the ingredients. The Cheesesteak was made with a tasty shaved Ribeye in a toasted Panni. Steak Tips were cooked perfectly medium raw. Overall, one of the best bar food that I had so far

The staff is great! They remember the customers to the point of having your drink ready by the time you settle in to your seat. Always a great, comfortable experience. I can't say enough about how welcome I feel when I walk in

Clerys, located at 113 Dartmouth St, Boston, MA 02116, is a popular haunt for young professionals and college students alike, just a stone's throw away from Back Bay Station. My alma mater hosted an event here before. Overall Service: 3.34/5 Foods: 2.5/5, Service: 4/5, Ambiance: 3.5/5, Cleanliness: 3.5/5 With multiple bars, including a separate dance floor on the lower level, it can accommodate a sizeable crowd of up to 393 people (according to the staff). The place tends to get packed post-9pm on weekends, but it maintains a more relaxed vibe during weekdays. The friendly staff, especially the bartenders, add to the welcoming atmosphere. A tip: if you're yearning for a seat, scout the areas with large TVs; most patrons prefer to queue up for the dance floor. When it comes to foods, unfortunately, Clerys didn't quite hit the mark here. The chicken wings, despite their reputation on the menu, were a disappointment. Overcooked and dry, they left my taste buds longing for more. The garlic parmesan sauce, too, fell short, barely coating the wings and leaving the flavor flat. Maybe it was my bad luck. A silver lining was found in the Bee Sting sauce, boasting hot honey, garlic, and red chili – a tantalizing combination. My wish is that they'd be more generous with the celery and carrot accompaniments given the portion size. The potstickers, well, they were just okay, nothing that set them apart from your average Chinese takeout. On a brighter note, the cocktails at Clerys did manage to salvage our evening, offering a tasty respite. Areas of improvements: (1) Clerys could benefit from some quality control in the kitchen to elevate their food offerings. (2) When the place gets crowded, the restroom can become less than appealing.

Everything is super delicious but the service was bad in terms of how long they made us wait for the check, for someone to come take our order, and talking bad on us for being indecisive.

Would highly recommend coming to Clerys when you're visiting Boston. The staff, manager, and owner are all very courteous. We went to watch a UGA game (btw, this is the place to watch the Dawgs sic' em) and the vibe was overall very fun. The drinks were definitely great. Not to mention the food! Chicken tenders were great and that pizza was fantastic! If you're in town or just looking to hang out with friends for a football game night, this is your place!

Enjoyed a nice brunch with my friend before leaving town this morning. Very open and airy inside seating as well as outdoor seating. I got the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious! The coffee was also very good.

Clerys is a solid after work bar and usually a good place to watch a game. I went to watch the Red Sox - Yankees wild card game but they had last call at 10 PM and shut the place down shortly after, in the 7th inning… ??? I don’t know why they’re doing that but they should update their published hours if that’s their new closing time.

Came here for an event, and seems like a nice bar. Cool music, nice vibes, great place to grab a drink or 3 with some friends.

We went to watch a soccer game. It seemed that the staff did not care about our group (100 plus with reservation). They were not ready at all. There were refusing to change the game from college football to soccer while 100 plus were waiting. Felt unwelcome, I really like the venue but they really need to retrain in customer service.

One of the few fun, unpretentious places left in the south end. Gentrification always strips character from a neighborhood, thankfully Clerys is holding out. The hottest hot wings are some of the hottest around. Make sure you have a beer on hand

Not bad. Just a bar. Nothing special, nothing terrible. Okay prices, okay fries, okay service. What more can be said?

We are from the south and were excited to find a place with the UGA game and tons of UGA fans. The sliders and fish tacos were good. I was expecting more beer options, but it was basic. Not sure that I would go there again.

Never before had I been treated so rudely by a bartender. Before I start I just want to mention the utmost important it is for me to treat bartenders/waiters etc with respect. The server gave us some lukewarm drinks for which I proceeded to ask for ice. Once the bartender came she gave me 2 small ice cubes, is the most inattentive and disengaged manner and left. As this was not enough ice I stayed there to wait for her to come back again. When she came back I asked her for more ice and she took the cup with 2 ices cubes and threw it to the trash, like if I didn't deserve them anymore. She then asked me why I needed ice for, to which the answer is obvious, but still her job is to serve customers, not question them on their orders. Anyways, she finally proceeded to give me enough ice, again serving it in an angry manner. I said thank you and she started leaving. I turned to my friend, and told him "What an attitude" (which was true), and unfortunately was overheard by the bartender. She then went out of her way to step outside of the bar area, harass me, started shouting in front of my friends and threaten me that she was going to have me kicked out of the bar for no good reason. I decided to be the better person and simply say I was sorry. She left. This situation was embarrassing for me but even more so for her. Her behavior was clearly out of line and her temperament clearly had to do with something else, and she was definitely not having a good day, but that is no excuse to treat customers like that. I will not be going back there again any time soon.

This place was rubbish. Went to watch the Red Sox game and they didn’t have it on. We asked the two attendants near the entrance if they were showing it and they were more interested in scrolling mindless drool on their phone than helping. One’s response was ‘I am not sure, I don’t operate the televisions’. The bar also had a quiz on somewhere and thought it would be a good idea to broadcast the questions throughout the bar speakers over the music. I wouldn’t waste your time. Instead go down the road to the Five Horses Tavern. The service was 100 times better and didn’t feel like you were having a beer in a zoo.

Went Saturday night, got a drink from the bar and then met my friends at a table, our waitress was very rude to me and told me to immediately close my tan at the bar and start one with her. Then she kicked us out of our table since we were only getting drinks and no food - if that’s the rule, then okay, but everyone of us felt like she was extremely rude. Bad experience because of her :/

Noisy on trivia night but understood, we came for the dollar oysters and they didn't have them. Fun spot that is worth another shot

  • 3/5 Jared R. 1 year ago on Google
The burger was great, service was friendly, so this may sound petty: There was no list of their whiskey spirits, and I wanted to try something new. So instead of listing off every whiskey they had, they offered to make me a flight (which was off-menu) which I accepted. When the bill came it was a $50 flight of whiskey. Most expensive flight of middle shelf whiskey I’ve ever had.

Great bar. My sliders were a bit dry and overcooked, but the rest of the food was delicious.

My friends and I love going to Clery’s! It’s our go to spot for drinks and dinner. Trivia night is always a hit for us! Fun atmosphere and people every time. Whenever we go the waitstaff is very personable as well as efficient and accommodating! Totally recommend!

We attended the Georgia game watching event. The staff seemed very uninterested in taking care of patrons. And after the game, the staff literally told us that we had to leave immediately instead of being able to socialize at all after the game. And they were very rude about it!

  • 1/5 Serdar K. 4 months ago on Google
The spot's in a great location, for sure. But I'm only giving it one star because the vibe felt pretty exclusive and not so welcoming. It seemed like they were mostly aiming for a white, rich crowd. You could really tell by the way the bartenders acted with different customers.

Best wings of my life. Really good beer selection, good atmosphere, good interior. But back to these wings. I kid you not, these wings were falling off the bone. I literally pulled on it once and the meat came completely and cleanly off the bone. And the seasonings and sauces they do for their wings. To do die for. Absolutely fantastic.

Went on a Saturday for a Gergia Bulldawgs game with some friends. It was packed so service was pretty slow. One of the TVs had a horrible gren hue to it, one was running about 10 minutes behind of the others. Nothing tasted fresh, the fries were either frozen or had been sitting out for a while and were cold, but the seasoning was really good. Fish also had the texture of pre frozen fish but had a nice light batter. The nachos were very soggy by the time they got to the table and were not hot. Biggest issue was that in the women's room the locks DO NOT WORK. They unlock if someone turns the handle from the outside. Had to ask for water multiple times and at some point our server stopped showing up so we had to track them down. The hostess was leaning on the podium smacking gum with her mouth open.

Good local bar with wide beer selection. Clean bathroom. Pleasing servers. Though their layout is too small for standing customers.

Nice selection of beer and ales. I had a personal pizza. Cheese is way too salty. But hey, I'm from NYC and didn't expect great pizza.

Hosted an alumni event at Clery's in one of their private locations and my guests had a terrific time. Service was great, food delish, and our bartender, Tiffany, was awesome! She was so patient with individuals not sure if what to order! Management was great to with, too!

Attended for a class reunion. Had a fun time and the pizza was delectable (and the sliders were slightly addicting) but, like most things in Boston it was a tad difficult to find, and we had to park over a mile away.

Went here for a Monday night trivia event, and the place was packed. The food was amazing! We got the blackened shrimp tostadas, fish and chips, and blackened shrimp noodle bowl, and they were all very tasty with generous portions. We'll definitely be going back here to enjoy more of the elevated bar fare.

Wouldn't go again for the food, that's for sure. Ordered a Moscow Mule and got something so overly sweet and syrupy, no relation to the actual cocktail. The truffle tater tots were great, but the parmesan crusted chicken salad was so overly dressed and salty, I was left with a pool of dressing at the bottom of the plate and had to move the chicken to a separate plate so it wouldn't get completely soggy. It was also apparently trivia night but they have to change their speakers or something because the announcement drowned out any conversation and was so painfully high-pitched and piercing it was like the loudest the Green Line can get at Boylston Station. Wouldn't go again.

Clerys was the first spot that my girlfriend and I happened to see on our walk to our Airbnb. We loved the food and atmosphere so much that we ate there 2 more times during that trip and another when we returned to Boston last year. It has become a must visit every time we come back and plan to return for years in the future. The Buffalo chicken pizza and bar food are top notch
