The bridge is a big help going to and from Boston and other areas. The Bridge now has tolls both ways, if you don't have an easy pass you'll get a bill in the mail monthly watch for it, it's about .50c more than an EZ-PASS transponder and pay by plate late fees are high. The new charges on the Bridge started soon after Gov. Baker was elected into office. The bridge is falling apart, it needs to be kept up where's the taxpayers money going to? There's cameras on the Bridge also, I was hit from behind on the bridge and they took off into the traffic, I could not get anyone (Police, Town Hall, etc.) to look at the cameras for me SO WHY ARE WE PAYING FOR THEM? The bridge is a big help, they should fix it and keep maintaining the bridge.

Seriously this bridge needs SERIOUS REPAIRS. I ain’t got no pictures of it due to the hands-free law of Massachusets but you can clearly see it by yourself if you drive by.

I normally don't subscribe to Conservative "they're taxing us to death!" nonsense, but, in the case of the Tobin Bridge, um, yeah, it's a huge racket! First, there was no outbound toll in forever and then in the mid-2010s they decided to bring that back since it's easier to do with electronic tolling gantries versus the old-school toll booth style. I personal DON'T have a problem paying tolls--but there should always be an ALTERNATIVE, even if it's a much slower route. And there was: for anybody who's ever stood near the end of Chelsea St in Charlestown, underneath the Tobin Bridge, and looked over the Mystic River towards Admiral's Hill in Chelsea and though, "What a short distance--I wonder if we could build a bridge here!"... THERE WAS! The Chelsea St Bridge used to connect from the end of Chelsea St right over the river to Chelsea St (now Broadway) in Chelsea! So what did the state do: they TORE DOWN the little bridge and built the big one! Okay, so cars go on the bridge... but what about PEDESTRIANS and CYCLISTS! How much easier would it be to go back-and-forth between Charlestown and Admiral's Hill if you could just walk/bike across the river! On foot or by bike the ONLY route is to go all the way around on Alford St (Rt 99) and then go through the Produce District in Everett into Chelsea! Efficient??!! Where are Netherlands engineers/planners?!

Terrible. We understand repairs and upkeep are definite throughout it's span but there must be a better way to do it or not so much at once for long periods of times (2 years!?) to add more to the increasingly growing traffic. We're at one lane going towards Chelsea. Awesome. Getting worse each year. Used to be when you were on the road at 5am you might see a few cars now thats climbed back to 2 or 3 am. 6am is comparable to what rush hour 830/9 am traffic used to be. Too much digging all at once everywhere in ma from RI boarder to the NH line. Dig a hole, disrupt traffic. Later fill it in with rocks(disrupt traffic) and leave it till the fall the dig it out(disrupt traffic) and pave it with camel humps. NH built a whole overpass and ramp during a summer season.

The bridge is beautiful. All you Neanderthals saying"signs saying ezpass only no cash" most cities have toll bridges. They have these passes to let traffic keep flowing. Believe me you don't want to get stuck at a toll booth. So you don't have a pass??big deal? They'll send you a invoice/ ticket for the toll. Just pay it. What's the difference if you pay now or later? Beautiful city beautiful bridge. I live in Oregon and was there last week. Great time. I bought the pass when I rented a car. So easy. Go Sox

Though the traffic sucks this is actually one of my favorite bridges in the Boston area because of the beautiful harbor views. Especially in the early morning or evening. But not during rush hour traffic!

As a child in the 1940's I was terrified of crossing this bridge. My father started taking the ferry across to stop my fear.

It’s big, it’s green- it’s the Tobin. The lower deck is outbound to the North Shore and spills out to Route 1. The upper deck heads into Boston and you’ll get a good view of the skyline and the seaport on the way in.

There is no booth or signage but surprise! There is a toll. If you are out of state good luck discovering that until you get a bill

Just got a letter from Commonwealth of Massachusetts stating we did not pay a fee of $1.55 plus .60 for mailing. We paid all toll on our trip. Will send in but this is no way to make people return to your state. We have no way to prove we paid.

Thanks Google maps for taking me on a toll road when my options made it clear "NO TOLL ROADS"!!! Google owes me $2.15.

As we drove over the bridge I was thinking, well, nothing about the bridge. I guess the bridge did its job and didn't collapse so 5 stars.

I pass there here.....and had the pleasure of driving by this bridge onve while visiting Boston. For the most part....it was pretty clear and driveable... but I hear other times it could be a traffic jam. Im thankful its made of concrete and dont shake 🤣 like other bridges made of steel. Its also beautiful overlooking the river.

I don’t understand why you would make a bridge that link to NE and make it a toll road. Plus there were two lanes going downtown and a third only for buses. People we just using the bus line as if it was normal.
