I did the Crush Depth room & this was hands down the best escape room I’ve ever done. The decor & mood of the room was really cool, a lot of attention to detail (also a little spooky). Without spoiling anything I’ll just say there’s more than meets the eye. All the puzzles were very fun (lots of very creative puzzles), definitely on the more challenging side. The staff was also very helpful. Chloe was super nice & friendly, took time to answer all our questions, and overall was a pleasure to work with. I’d definitely recommend this place & can’t wait to come back to try the other rooms!

Met a guy named Pat! Chill guy! Very straightforward but also funny, and he will mess with your mind, definitely works, This place is great and will definitely WILL be coming again traveled 45 miles well worth all! Btw first time groupys def had us mind blown! Price wise its currently at the time of this review $35 a person, not sure of other prices but for what we sid your looking at about that! And theres barely any proper parking WITHOUT having to pay so your also looking to spend about $15-$25 for parking to, unless your VERY lucky. But parking is right next to it literally walking distance so you wont have to worry about going to far from it. And they have bathrooms and an elevator. I was asked not to show the rooms so I can't really show anything more than just the customer lounge area

We went for a birthday and did the extra birthday puzzle, completed the Crush Depth room. The escape room aesthetics were amazing, puzzles were challenging but made sense once you teased it out. We needed the whole 60 minutes to do the whole escape room but we made it through plus the extra puzzle for the birthday. C was a great game master and did wonderful with giving us some valuable hints along the way, was very personable throughout our time there. We've done several escape rooms and collectively decided this place was the best by far. If you're looking for a really fun night with a top notch escape room with great puzzles, this is your place. Highly recommend.

I brought my daughter, niece, and nephew, (age range 11-15.) We did Crush Depth, and we all had a fantastic time. Our game master was super (I think his name is Kevin. Forgive me if I remember incorrectly.) They had an incredible amount of patience dealing with the many questions the kids had. We almost solved the room, but didn’t quite get there. Nevertheless it was a great experience. The level of detail and authenticity in the room impressed us all. The storytelling and delivery were both top notch. Thank you for a great time!! Also the location and views from the windows are incredible. Don’t let the price stop you; it’s worth every penny!

This escape room was absolutely amazing! It was very detailed and intense. We did “The Retreat” and had a bunch of fun today. We were able to escape with 6 seconds to spare! Milani, our game master was so great and she really got us into the story of the room! It was a great way to celebrate my parents’ 30 year wedding anniversary. Thank you, Trapology! I would definitely come back to do another room!

It was my first time doing an escape and I came here with my girl-friend. We had a BLAST! we did “The Retreat” and boy was it not only fun and challenging but psychological scary. The sounds really added to the atmosphere of the room. Our guide Quinn was amazing and she really did a great job cheering us on in the end even tho we made it to the last room but didn’t escape. She celebrated us and made us feel special. For someone who’s only been working there 2 weeks she seems to be really good at her job. She DEFINITELY deserves some ice cream 😂

We did The Institute at Trapology and absolutely loved it! We didn't even escape (which is a first for us), but still had a ton of fun. The puzzles were intuitive and challenging and the immersion was on point. Our game master Chloe was super fun, friendly, helpful, and mindful of the experience we wanted in the room. Definitely check this place out. Really good escape rooms are hard to find—this one is a gem.

We did the Hustler today at Trapology Boston- it was so well thought out with some pretty complicated clues, plenty of arithmetic clues that I loved! It is a really well thought out escape room. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! However, If you’re doing the Hustler, you might need more hands on deck. It was just the four of us and I think that may have left us with not enough heads to solve some of are clues. But there are other rooms they have for smaller groups as well! Highly recommend Trapology to anyone who wants a fun and mentally stimulating escape room experience! Also shout out to Pat , our game master for his enthusiasm and for patiently explaining the clues we missed after the one hour!

We did "Crush Depth" with 8 adults. Overall it's a nice and enjoyable team activity! Kevin helped us and was very attentive to our progress the entire time. I have a lot of room escape experience, and this one was kind of easy. or more like the puzzles were well thought out but there weren't too many so it's easy to escape in time. I personally recommend going in groups of 4 or smaller if you want the "full room experience".

By far the most creative escape room I ever did! The staff was great and helped us pick a room that was appropriate for 2 people only. Shout out to C who was our host. P.s. the whole place is very Instagrammable with a great view from the building. Will def try another room when I’m back in Boston.

Went with 7 of my friends tonight and I cannot recommend this place enough! First of all, the space is so adorable and the location is perfect. Once inside, we were greeted by John who was very friendly and helpful. Julia was our Game Master and she did a very humorous job introducing us to the room and preparing us for our escape. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the actual escape rooms are creatively done, intricate, surprisingly huge, well-organized, cohesive, and just so, so enjoyable. Once we finished (and set a record!!), we were able to take a group photo which they printed for us right there and because of our record, we were gifted Trapology keychains and pins which was such a nice touch. We had an amazing time and I cannot overstate how amazed I was by the quality of the facility, staff, and Trapology themselves. Already, my friends and I are preparing to come back and complete all of the other rooms.

Had a great time! Brought four of my friends and we had a blast in The Institute room! There was a fun story, clever puzzles, a neat gimmick where you could talk to an AI personality, and the room overall was very detailed! Big thank you to Holden and Kayla for hosting us!

This place is amazing. I have been here twice now, and I can't recommend it enough. I love that all the games are private, and it is an affordable price for a private experience escape room. It is worth every penny my dudes. The staff is amazing, and they know exactly when to help you and when to let you and your team work things out on your own. I feel like that would be a hard balance to find, but they somehow nail that. The rooms are so fun and decorative and the themes are very interesting. I was supposed to remember the names of the people there so they can get ice cream...but I forgot and have now been there twice..so...mr/miss boss can you please maybe just get everyone ice cream?? It is well deserved for my lactose tolerant friends over there.

We had a blast doing the Hotdog Heist with our game host Brittany. I would definitely come back to try the other Escape Rooms. Thank you Trapology!

Three of us played the Hot Dog Heist room, and we had a fantastic time! This was the most puzzle-heavy room I’ve done so far, and collaboration is a must. There was a fair bit of crawling/crouching, but it added to the fun. Just be prepared to get on the floor if you choose this room! I do think you’d be able to walk it via the hallway if accessibility is an issue, though. Our helper Julie was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back to try some of the other rooms!

We have been here twice already and beat both “The Retreat” and “The Institute,” but this time we attempted “Crush Depth” and it was so much fun! Mary was our game master and she helped us out a lot during the final few minutes, and thanks to her we barely escaped! The rooms were designed well, the atmosphere was great, and the puzzles were challenging but intuitive. We will definitely come back again for the rest of the rooms!

My partner and I went last night and completed “The Retreat!” This was my first escape room experience and had a blast. John gave us clear instructions, was super kind, and invested in our enjoyment of the story we were working to unfold. Thanks for a great night, John!

A group of friends and I were excited to try our first escape room at Trapology! We booked online and visited on a Thursday evening. The sandwich board outside the door made the entrance easy to find. Warren helped us settle in with some rules and basic instructions, and we were off to the races! There were six of us, and we did The Drunk Tank room. We had a lot of fun with the different puzzles! There were several different types of puzzles, and we all kept busy working through them. We were grateful for the hints provided as well! They really helped us along the way. I definitely would come back and try another room. And we were happy to be “not the worst group ever,” according to Warren!

Erin and Tristan were awesome getting us started. The challenge was just right for our family with teenagers. It was a great way to explore the Boston Common and public garden. Great value for the amount of time and entertainment it offers!

I attended the Onyx gala with 3 others and we had an amazing time!! I'm always impressed with and have always enjoyed trapology's escape rooms as they are among the highest quality escape rooms I've been to, but the Onyx Gala blew me away! Complete with performances, mysteries, clever puzzles, the most fun and interesting interactions with the cast and some delightful unexpected surprises. I'd highly recommend any experience produced by Trapology. I'm still hyped from the experience and am already looking forward to the next event!

One of the best/most well put together escape rooms and escape businesses. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into their brand, rooms, and puzzles! Britany, our amazing barista, definitely needs to be added to the Employee of the Month wall. We had a great time in the 18+ room. This has been the only escape business that has given us a printed photo. If my husband and I are ever back in the area we will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for a great experience!

My first time doing a legit escape room and it was so much fun! We did the Hot Dog Heist as a big group — the puzzles were so clever and our game master, Connor, was amazing, funny, and really helpful in their hints! (They deserve that ice cream!!). You can tell there is a lot of creativity, dedication, and passion put into these rooms and puzzles, so it’s worth every dollar. Very excited to come back again and tell all my friends about this place!

  • 5/5 Glenn M. 5 months ago on Google
Excellent escape room challenge. The puzzles were widely varied, and kept us hopping to solve them in time. The Game Master was keeping a close watch on our progress so that when we solved a puzzle but still weren't getting the technology to give up the goods, she called us right away to let us know what that lock needed to open up. So we weren't wasting time looking for solutions we already had. Very well done!!

I recently visited Trapology in Boston and had an amazing experience! The escape room was challenging and engaging, and our Game Guide, Emmett, made the experience even better. Emmett was kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire game. The puzzles were well-designed and kept us on our toes the entire time. The attention to detail in the room was impressive and added to the overall experience. We did the Institute, which was challenging, but fun! Overall, I highly recommend Trapology to anyone looking for a fun and challenging escape room experience.

Our group of 3 had a great time doing The Retreat. Having done over 100 escape rooms before, I can tell you this was well designed with good props and puzzle play and the game master Holden was top notch. Definitely will be back for the other rooms.

Connor was a very exciting and enthusiastic actor in our group escape. This was very much my first time and I had so much fun with it! There’s lots of commitment dedicated to making these complex rooms and I intend to play again!

So much fun! I did The Institute with my mom and adult brother over Thanksgiving weekend and we had a great time. We’ve done escape rooms before and we all thought the difficulty was perfect. We managed to escape with 8 minutes left. Shoutout to our game master, Holden, for helping make it a great experience!

Huge thank you to Mike for helping us with a special custom puzzle and Rachel for being the best escape room guide I’ve ever had! They both matched my group’s energy and enthusiasm, and it was such a high quality experience with lots of surprises and fun challenges. “Hot Dog Heist” was very unique and definitely kept my group on our toes!

I've done several rooms at Trapology and it's my favorite company that does them. Recently we did Crush Depth and it was great. The set design, difficulty and interesting puzzles definitely set them apart. Anderson was also great as the room master! Look forward to going again soon!

This was amazing. We had a blast. The puzzles were just difficult enough for us to be challenged but not frustrated. The scenario was interesting and spooky and the staff was informative and friendly. All and all a Saturday well spent at Trapology. Shout out to Jake and Patrick C. Awesome staff.

We completed the Last Secret of Albert Einstein, outdoor escape room. It was fun and the clues were very well thought out. It really put our minds to the test. The ‘room’ was a blast and it was a great experience from being stuck inside doing an escape room. We were able to explore the whole Boston commons area. The clues took us all around the park and to see things we never would have looked at just going through. Only wish is that we hard more people to help juggle the items to complete the ‘room’. Overall a great time and would recommend to anyone that wants to try a different type of escape room.

  • 5/5 Gary C. 2 years ago on Google
The introduction/safety video has a twisted humor that we thought was hilarious. (Note the snow shovel hanging on the wall!) Alex was our escape room boss (commander, ruler, dictator, what is the right term?). He was kind and made it clear that having a fun experience was the top priority, so he put us at ease. The room itself (we did the "Retreat") was very well-designed -- solving a puzzle unlocked a door to an adjacent small room, and then the puzzle in that room unlocks another hidden door, and so on, leading to a big surprise in the last small room. Highly recommended!

I love Trapology! I’ve done two in-person rooms (Drunk Tank and The Hustler) and one virtual (The Retreat), and all have been a blast. The rooms and puzzles are elaborate and high-quality; you can tell they care about the details. I didn’t know what to expect from a virtual game, but it was extremely well done. Mike, who led us through the game, was amazing, patient, and funny. I was also able to play with family who live far away… one even across the world. A unique and fun experience; highly recommend!

We had a great time doing the last secret of Albert Einstein and exploring the commons. Erin was a great host and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a creative way to do an escape room adventure and we definitely plan on coming back to try another adventure!

We did the Outdoor The Last Secret and it was quite a fun game, different than all other escape rooms we have done in the past. Mike was a great host, friendly and engaging. The hot and humid weather added a bit more challenge but overall it was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

Went for the Retreat as an anniversary celebration with my partner - scary but fun!! I was a wimp and totally bought into the spooky sounds and flickering lights (partner was totally fine), but still managed to solve the puzzles and escape! Totally worth the money and had a great adrenaline-fueled hour that helped solidify the two of us as a team. Big thanks to Chloe and Erin for making this experience worthwhile! Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

super fun! my group did the retreat, which was a little spooky (don't recommend this room for anyone afraid of a little blood or gore) but not too challenging. we were ~10 minutes late, which was deducted from our timer during the game, but our game master did a great job getting us started quickly and we still had plenty of time to complete our escape. would love to come back and try some of the harder rooms in the future!

Wow! We played Crush Depth and were blown away. There is incredible attention to detail, great puzzles, and you get a ridiculously fun moment that you've probably never imagined. The people were also really lovely and great customer service. They didn't have the game available we wanted at the day we planned to go, but with a quick call they were able to switch out another available spot for the game we wanted. We will absolutely be back to play more of their games (and also picked up their tabletop game, Space Corps, to play at home)!

Me and a group of my friends (total of 6 people) went to Trapology last weekend. The set up and the puzzles were super fun and exciting. Especially our monitor, Chloe, they were super duper helpful and friendly. Our friend group decided that we down to go back again with in March. Super stocked to solve their other problems

My friends and I had a blast trying to conquer The Hustler escape room. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The escape room was detailed and the clues were meticulously thought out. I enjoyed every minute! It is definitely worth the money and I will be back very soon

My friends and I went here for my birthday and we had such a blast! The employees are very nice and welcoming. They started by explaining how the escape room in general works, the rules, and the premise of the room we were attempting. We did the Chinese gambling one - I forget the formal name now since it has been a week or so. It was a hard level room and room that allowed up to 10 people and we attempted it with 5. We were only two puzzles away from solving it! The room lasted 90 minutes and they provide 3 hints if you need it. To request a hint, everyone participating has to dance - cute! The puzzles are super entertaining and kept us busy the whole time. The employees are supervising the whole time listening and watching what you do, providing a free hint or two if it looks like you are struggling. I said at one point, "if I just stood on the chair, I could probably reach it" and then on the TV screen, they sent us a message "do not stand on the chairs" hahah 😅 At the end, they explained the remaining two puzzles that we had started. We were happy to know how it ended and how close we were to escaping! They have a free photo booth where your group can take pictures too and you can print them right there or email them to yourself. I highly recommend Trapology! It was absolutely such a blast. The service is amazing and the rooms are fun and creative. Definitely a great rainy day activity as well!

So much fun with friends here! The room is set up with multiple puzzles to solve, and the owners are very friendly and gave clear instructions. The time slot is generous, so we didn't feel rushed. We were able to find all the clues and solve the puzzles, and even made it on the record wall! Will definitely come back here to check out other themed rooms!

The room we did was super hard and my group wasn't able to escape, but that's part of the fun. We got down to the last 2 puzzles but just couldn't make it in time! We go to trapology every so often and every game is fun. Chloe was our monitor and they were super friendly and helpful!

Trapology Boston was such a fun escape room experience! It was my first time there and I’ll absolutely be back. I did The Institution room with a couple friends and it was a great brain-bender. Our host, Julia M (with the green hair) was amazing! She was super engaging, kind, and incredibly personable. Quinn at the front desk and orientation was also very kind and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend booking Trapology Boston for your next escape room adventure!

Had a great experience at the Trapology escape room. Easy reservation and intake process. Lovely accommodations and waiting area as they got the room set up. Staff were warm and friendly. Room was challenging but satisfying, with focus on our comfort throughout our experience. Our host Sabrina was brilliant and so funny. She made our experience so fun and spent time talking with us afterwards getting pictures! Highly recommend

We had never done an escape room but I love puzzles. I came with my family, including my parents who are in the 70s, my sister and her family, multiple kids, and we had a great time. We were barely able to solve the puzzle, and the chance of it was excellent. We did “crush duck”. I would highly recommend, it’s a unique way to spend some fun time together. Warren, who works at Trapology, was great!

Totally incredible. This was my first escape room and I had no idea what to expect. Trapology was well-run and super welcoming. Our room manager Kevin was phenomenal and made the game really fun with well-timed hints and a good introduction. Got to chat with the designer and manager after we finished up and really enjoyed hearing about their process. We'll be back.

This is the BEST escape room I’ve ever completed! From beginning to end, you feel welcomed and the atmosphere is unmatched! Eli was attentive, honest and a fun person to be around once we finished the room! He was very accommodating to our requests and did all he could to make sure we were able to complete the room and have an enjoyable, memorable experience! It’s a top tier escape room and I’m going back two days in a row because it was that great of a time! There’s no doubt that this will be a go to spot next time I’m in town!

Took 3 young teen boys to the hot dog heist. They had a blast! We were paired with 2 other small groups, which actually made the experience more fun. The game was just the right balance of challenge and hints. This room definitely good for a larger group of people. Game coordinator Rob did a great job! We will definitely be back!
