After many jewelers we finally found Tacoma Custom Jewelers. Heather and Dan are great! Heather helped us design the perfect (I mean PERFECT :) ), engagement ring and managed to keep it in our modest budget. She was very friendly and informative, and we both left feeling like we learned about diamonds, metal choices, and what we were purchasing. She even managed to get in 3 samples of designs we were interested in, which tremendously helped our confidence in purchasing the chosen one, because at other places it was "just imagine what it will look like", or "once we order it, it's yours!" Called to see if Tacoma Custom Jewelers knew who in our area values jewelry. Dan responded to my inquiry timely, provided their location, hours, and availability. I subsequently brought in some nine or 10 pieces -- inherited items I suspected were costume but wanted a pro to weigh in on before I disposed of them. Heather looked the items over in the course of 10 or 15 minutes, carefully examining each piece and stating her findings . She did not charge for her time and expertise. I am a small business owner for whom customer service is first and foremost. Dan and Heather are obviously on the same page. I can (and will) wholeheartedly recommend Tacoma Custom Jewelers.

Walked into the shop and presented a challenge to Dan. Showed him my hat and asked for a pendant to be made. Casting to include my parents wedding rings. I enjoyed the entire process from CAD design to the 3D models and felt very included in the design.

Ok this place is so great! I have a custom opal engagement ring Which Dan and Heather helped me design and order. They are so knowledgeable and I could tell that they were not just there to sell me a piece of jewelry. They seemed invested and helping me find exactly what I wanted and we’re honest about each step of the process. They were also very patient with me as of course, I wanted it to be just right. These two also have unbeatable customer service. They assisted me in some adjustments multiple times, as like I said, this was a custom ring that is very uncommon, and had those adjustments made within 24 hours! Every time I came into the store, I left feeling as though Dan and Heather genuinely care about me, my ring, my experience and are not just there to make sales.

The repair on my ring was perfection ! And done in a very timely matter. I will be returning to Heather and Dan for any future repairs.

Heather was amazing and so helpful ! Brought an antique ring in that belonged to my mother's great aunt . Heather helped with the sizing and showed us there was a prong missing on one of the big diamonds. If I had taken this ring to Fred Meyer jewelers (or somewhere else that offered a "screaming deal"), I am sure they wouldn't have noticed this detail and the diamond would have eventually fallen out ! You really pay for what you get and Tacoma custom jewelers is top notch service . They were barely even more than anywhere else and we got soooo much better service ! I can not stop looking at my finger. Seriously. My mother died recently and she had a few nice rings that I wanted reset. Dan and Heather listened to what I had in mind and made it work. They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The finished product is perhaps the nicest piece I own. UPDATE, ONE YEAR LATER: had an unexpected problem with the ring, long story short, Dan took care of things. He is excellent at communications and goes the extra way. Even with a hiccup, I will continue to consider them my jeweler.

This is a lovely local jewelry store. They have a good variety of pieces to fit many price ranges. They also offer to take your jewelry pieces on consignment. Although they did not sell my particular ring, they were most helpful when I picked it up. They offered to let me meet with any potential buyers in their store for security. Much appreciated! Awesome staff, felt very welcome and comfortable when I walked in. They have a gemologist on staff and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. They did a wonderful job replacing prongs, resizing, and polishing a platinum wedding set. They said 2 days and it took 2 days. Very polite and professional. No tricks or hidden fees. I will go back to this jewelry store.

Amazing customer service! Great local shop! They took them time to help discuss major and minor differences in the the diamonds and rings. I was very pleased with the overall process of selecting my wife's engagement ring. When it came to the wedding band, ordering it was a breeze. Unfortunately the wedding band was stolen out of my truck the day I got. They were extremely helpful with ordering a new ring and talked to their supplier and they really helped me out with absorbing the cost of buying a new ring.

Dan and Heather were so welcoming. Making a big purchase can be nerve wracking but they helped me pick what would be best for me. I love my bracelets and ring! Will be returning for future purchases.

My wife brought in some jewelry to get worked on before she traveled abroad. The people there could not have been more helpful. I had a necklace that I have worn for the last 13 years and even through boot camp. They cleaned it up for me and replaced some of the linkage. She brought it back and I was overjoyed. It looked brand new. Will definitely be going here for all of my other jewelry needs in the future. It’s hard to find a place with knowledge and great customer service and this place has it in spades.

I got an old vintage aquamarine ring polished at Tacoma Custom Jewelers. At first I was very nervous leaving my ring and was nervous about the results. I am happy to say that the finished product far surpassed my expectations. The stone went from completely cloudy and scraped to clear and truly radiant. Five stars all the way, will go back for any future jewelry needs!!!!

They fixed a necklace that was super important to me, at a very great price and quickly!! Definitely would go there again and highly recommend you take any needed jewelry repairs to them!

My husband and I were lucky enough to find Tacoma Custom Jewelers in 2015. We were greeted with a warm welcome, a tour of the beautiful shop, and a kind answer to all of our questions. We were initially shopping for an updated engagement ring and wedding bands, as we set a date for August 2015. We started the process with Dan in April 2015 and about a month later, we had the wedding bands of our dreams. Dan gave us so much useful information about the diamonds, metals, gemstones and how creative we could be with our budget. We feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with Dan and let him and his team create something special and unique; something we look at and wear every single day. Fast forward to 2017, we returned to Dan to replace the center stone of my engagement ring. Dan and his team at TCJ outdid themselves, yet again! Most recently we visited TCJ to revamp my husband's wedding band (new onyx and an internal gold fill). We just picked it up today and were completely blown away by the amazing job they did! We have seen them move from their original location on 6th Avenue in Tacoma to their gorgeous new spot in University Place. We have recommended all of our friends and family that are looking for jewelry to them over the past 8 years and will continue to because of how wonderful Dan and his team are. My first experience at Tacoma Custom Jewelers was terrific. I inherited my aunt's sapphire ring and it was a MESS. It was beat up, missing a stone, nearly all the tips were bent, and it was filthy. BUT - it's sentimental to me and I really wanted to have it repaired at a reliable place while also supporting a local business. Heather is incredibly knowledgeable and knew exactly what would need to be done in order to restore my aunt's ring to it's former glory. My ring was sent out and I received a call with a quote the next day. The work was complete in a matter of a few days and I am THRILLED. I can hardly believe this is the same ring! It's absolutely perfect. The replaced stone is a perfect match, the tip work is top quality and it is SO clean and sparkly! I would recommend TCJ to anyone and will for sure be a return customer.
