Be aware. Even if you get the tickets in advance, you still have to get in the line and get to the ticketing register and pick the time/language slot that is available. They offer four different languages for mandatory guided tour. So even if you get the tickets in advanced or not, you have to get in the wait line, get to the register, get the ticket or show them the purchased ticket, pick the time slot, and have to come back. I don't understand the purpose of advanced ticketing. Ticketing system needs improvement asap. Wait line is very long and there are no shades so you feel like getting cooked outside. Horrible experience. Also, tour was done with 50 people at a time. No microphone or anything. You can barely hear the guide. I don't think you need tour guide. Place was piece of art, and staffs were very friendly but overall system is very poorly managed. I hope they improve these inconveniences in the near future.

The Bolsa Palace is set right in Porto downtown. It was built in 19c by the Porto Commerce Chamber with the idea to impress foreign traders and investors, as for centuries Porto was a huge and important trade hub. I was hesitating if to visit this palace, but having missed it 9 years ago when I was here I decided to go. Luckily, waiting time for the next tour was only around 15 min and they had available tickets for English tour (you cannot visit without the tour). Considering the palace, there are 3 impressive places: 1. the main hall with State coats of arms of the states Porto dealt business with, 2. the hall after the stairway which is beautifully hand carved in granite and 3. the last golden Arabic room which is really stunning. All other rooms are very average - you see much better in palaces throughout Europe. However, the biggest drawback was a tour guide herself - a young lady trying to be interesting, but speaking so loud and with such a heavy accent. I was struggling to understand her with that accent, and at the same time her loud voice echoed in those big spaces, so around the half I got tired from that. To conclude, go for the tour if you haven't seen many palace like edifices and if there isn't a long waiting time for your language tour.

A lovely palace. Went at 9 am reading other reviews on it being hard to get tickets, but it was wide open and only 3 people other than us. Had a very brisk tour with a good guide .Wish the guide would have let us linger and take photos and savor the place rather than rush us from room to room. I was literally running behind her as I stopped and clicked 😆😆

Incredibly beautiful place. It was an open outcry commodity trading place till 1994 after which it still remains as a Chamber of Commerce for North Portugal. You can see the Old Portuguese money here, and this was THE business hub of it's time, so this had to be opulent. There are kilos of gold leaf work, Italian woodwork and the Arabic room is just magnificent. There are English language guided tours for Euro 12 per person (you cannot go without a tour as it's a private property), and the tour was absolutely worth it. The guide was extremely informative and took their time answering questions. Highly recommend this if in Porto.

The Bolsa Palace, or Palácio da Bolsa, is a historic building in Porto, Portugal. Constructed in the 19th century, it showcases stunning neoclassical architecture. The palace served as the city's stock exchange and impresses visitors with its opulent interiors, including the Arabian Hall, known for its intricate details. Today, it is a cultural and touristic landmark, offering guided tours that provide insight into Porto's economic and architectural history. Tickets for adults cost €12, and it's recommended to wait for the language-specific tour, allowing time to absorb the palace's grandeur and appreciate the view of the dome and the mosaic tile flooring. The guided tour, lasting about 30 minutes, proved to be perfect for us. Inside, the palace features stunning chandeliers, beautiful rooms, enchanting staircases, old and mesmerizing illusion-style wooden floors, and a particularly captivating Arabian Room.

This "palace" houses the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce. Because the only available option is the guided tour, one does not really have enough time to absorb the beauty of the building, but this did help us learn about its history (the enforcement of taking up a guided tour is understandable because the building is a workplace for the Chamber of Commerce, but I do wish they offered other options to pace it myself). They did not, however, stop us from taking a second look at some of the halls after the tour's end. There was another group touring the halls after us and we tried to steer clear so as not to disrupt them. The climax of the tour is the Arabic room, at the very end. The doors to the room will be closed, so that the entrance into the room can be more dramatic.

The palace can only be visited with a guide and above all the visits are at specific times, in well-defined languages and especially with limited places. Too expensive tickets for a 20-minute tour...

  • 4/5 Mattia C. 1 year ago on Google
Stunning place inside, definitely much better than outside. Sad that even though we bought the ticket online there was a fast queue where you had to specify the hour the the compulsory tour. It’s not like you can just enter and stroll around, you must chose a time and participate in the tour with 30 or more people. You can chose the language of the tour between Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. The space inside is really nice it’s worth to take pictures, kind that the tour is a bit long, it lasted about 1 hours for few rooms. Let’s say there was a lot to listen and standing

Nice visit taking ~45min. The tour is mandatorily guided, but they have different languages (Portuguese, English, French, Spanish). The building has very beautiful rooms, especially the Arabic one. The building is still used nowadays and the tour guide explains the history of the place. 10e full price and 6.5 for students, a bit expensive for the length of the tour I thought but well, you need to pay the guide.

Interesting palace with lots of history. The guided tour is mandatory, and is available in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English. Since the spots fill up quickly if you buy the tickets there, so I would recommend buying tickets beforehand.

It's a mandatory guided tour or about 30-40mins that takes you through the whole palace that's actually an official office of commerce. You will be guided through the enormous hall, the beautiful staircase with 2 hanging chandeliers, subsequently followed by the presidential room, office of the president, the ball room and the voting room or where general assemblies take place. Worth the visit as it's nicely decorated and contains a lot of local history.

A palace honoring commerce that must be visited on a guided tour. Built on the site of a former church building the structure shows off the best of the fine arts and crafts of the past. The unique Moorish style ballroom is astounding. Granite stairs lead to magnificent rooms upstairs with a view of the tiled entrance. Nice toilets available for visitors and a gift shop.

Definitely worth visiting. You only need to pay €10 which comes with a guide tour in many different languages of your choice. Through the tour you get to learn about the history and the architecture. The meeting room is amazing, decorated in the exotic Moorish Revival style and intricate carvings.

Bolsa Palace, which houses the Porto Chamber of Commerce, is an interesting place to visit with lots of history and beautiful rooms to enjoy, especially the main hall and the Arabic room. You have to join a guided tour to explore the building which is annoying but understandable as it's a working building, but you do get a good level of insight from the guides into the many stories of the historic building. No access to toilets until after your tour though. Would recommend visiting, but best to book ahead.

Amazing place with lots of history and fun with guides. Arabic room is stunning. Make sure to visit it while in Porto. The only downside is that tickets are sold only there and you would need to queue for quite a long time during pick hours. Take umbrella and lots of cold water to avoid overheating.

Palácio da Bolsa is an architectural wonder, with rooms like the Arabian Hall showcasing incredible artistry. However, the requirement for guided tours (12 euros per adult) and no open entry limits flexibility, as you’re bound to tour schedules. Despite this, it’s worth visiting for its historical and artistic beauty.

Amazing palace. It is mandatory to buy a tour ticket with a guide at a specific time. I usually visit everything by myself but the guide tour ended up really great and useful. The ticket is 10€ for adult, 6,50€ for student. The building as a great courtyard and an amazing arabic hall. The building is definitely worth the visit when being in Porto

A sumptuous building of mid 19th-early 20th century architecture. Those traders weren't short of a bob or two. You have to enter with a 30 minute guided tour, which was a little perfunctory but gave some interesting information. You may need to book this then come back up to an hour later depending on which language you require. The entrance lobby is beautiful and the crowning glory of the Arab Room is quite breathtaking. While you are there I heartily recommend the restaurant O Commercial for lunch in lovely surroundings with excellent food and service.

The tour itself is highly informative and interesting. It lasts about 30 minutes which is a perfect length for the amount of rooms covered. Note that you cannot buy tickets I'm advance online for a specific time slot. You'll need to walk in and select a time slot based on the available languages. In my case the next open English tour was about 2 hrs later, so I purchased the tickets and made my way back when it was my slot.

One of the most beautiful buildings that I had visit in this city. On a first site 10€ per person sounds a little bit pricey, but I tell you you won’t regretted. This will include a 45min tour explaining the provenance of the house and how it’s influence remains until today. Only one down point wasn’t a clear separation of tours which cause some disturbance.

Amazing place! The highlight of the Palace is this! The 𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒃 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 that was built between 1862 and 1880 by Gonçalves e Sousa. The room is decorated in the exotic Andalusian style (Moorish Revival style) and is used as a reception hall for personalities and heads of state visiting Porto. It can also hold conferences, concerts, and dinners. نصر الله is written on the walls, and it stands for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅. You can not enter the palace without a guide, so I suggest buying the tickets in advance.

Really nice historic place just few steps from Ribiera do Porto. You can buy tickets for quided tour in English, Spanish, French or Portuguese. Tour quide will lead you through the main rooms and halls in the building and give you informations about Palacio do Bolsa, Portos past as well as commercial rules in the city of Porto in past. Sometimes Palacio is closed beacuse you can rent it for private events. If you want to visit it, take an informations about working hours a day earlier!

Every day when I was passing by it was full of people so I decided that I want to visit. Although the tour lasts 30 minutes, it is very well narrated by the guide that also has an amazing voice 💖(for singing). She highlights the most important spots in a charismatic manner 🤪. The place itself is gorgeous and it worths 💯🥰😍 The portugese people are very fond of their history and you feel this during the tour. 👍👏

Good Museum, one place to visit in Porto ! Price (Prix FR) : Not too expensive, when we visited it was like 8€ per person as a student if you have your card. Place (Lieu FR) : Very rich because there are some things to see such as some painting, a room for the general meeting and votes. Visit with a Guide : You can't visit alone in this museum, you have to chose a hour with a Guide. The good thing is that they proposed Guides who can speak French, Deutsch, English, Spanish... that's a plus for foreigners.

It is better to reserve tickets ahead as the museum can be accessed only by guided tours. The palace is beautiful with many history of Portugal.

Beautiful palace! We learn a lot about Portuguese history throughout our visit. You'll have to go with a guided tour in order to visit the place. It's available in different languages, including French and English. The interior is astonishing. Especially the oriental room. This is another location you must visit during your stay in Porto. It's definitely worth the price!

A worthwhile visit! While they don’t make it abundantly clear initially when you book tickets online or in person, you do need to buy tickets for a mandatory 30 minute tour in your language of choice. We didn’t want to do a tour, but it’s part of your entrance fee and we were ultimately glad to have done it. The interior is stunning and took 67 years to complete. Best bet your bottom dollar every intricate detail is perfected to the max!

Worthwhile to wait in line for a ticket. If you can skip the line via a ticket purchase online, that’s an even better idea! Tours are offered in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English. The building is still a place of commerce so not all rooms are available for viewing. The best rooms are on the tour, however. There are some stairs, but an elevator is a available for those who need it. There’s a coffee machine available inside for €1.

Great experience at the Bolsa Palace. Not really any lines to buy tickets but would recommend to buy in advance. Important to note is that you have to go on a (free) guided tour. It is relatively quick and they take you to the inner rooms. They only have a set number of tours for each language, so you won't be able to go straight in. You sign up when you either buy your tickets or show your pre-paid tickets.

10 euros for adults, free admission for children under 12 years of age accompanied by an adult. We applied for an English guide, and it takes about 50 minutes to tour the inside of the palace, and the guider's explanations make it more interesting to appreciate the palace. We were a family traveler with children aged 8 and 11 and the palace tour was well worth it.

The Bolsa Palace is such a worthy visit for those who are getting to know Lisbon. The only option is to get a guided visit, which is 100% worth it! This was a beautiful building and it was great to be able to see the inside and hear some of the history behind it. Getting tickets and signing up for a guided tour was quite easy, and the wait for the next English one wasn’t very long. Our guide was also very friendly and ensured we had the time to look around the rooms, ask questions, and take photos at our own pace. Definitely worth the visit!

Unlike most of the other must see places in Porto, the Bolsa Palace is still an active building for normal Porto city business. The visit is a quick 30-minute guided tour. Before heading to the Palace, be sure to check their website. The tours are conducted in different languages throughout the day. During my visit, I was fortunate to arrive when an English tour was about to start in 15 minutes. It is an incredible place to visit and the tour guide provides insight into Portugal's and Porto's history.

Great visit! The guided your is mandatory. There is one every 30 minutes and the languages rotate from English, Spanish portuguese and French. Reasonably sized, no crammed and interesting explanation of many of the rooms.

Well worth a visit when you are in Porto, you can only visit as part of a guided tour, which you can book at the Palace entrance. Tours are available in a range of languages and last approximately 30 mins. Tickets can be bought in advance but you cannot choose the language, so if you do buy a ticket online be aware you will need to wait until the next available tour in your language. Toilets are at the exit and there is also a small shop with some nice gifts.

Fabulous palace! We bought our ticket in advance, and had a student reduction. The reception was so friendly. We were so excited to visit the palace as it looks pretty when you enter with extravagant stairs . It was indeed a beautiful one, worth visiting. However, it can only be visited with a tour guide. It was a very quick visit. The tour guide seems like in a hurry whilst giving information, she did not even give us time to look around after she speaks.

Beautiful! Please note that you can’t visit without booking a time with a tour guide of the palace (done at the front desk). For example, they would give you the availability of the day when you first arrive, so your wait time varies depend on availability. The tour lasts around 30 minutes, the guide was entertaining, and after the your, you’re free to stay a bit more. I would say an hour of visit is enough.
