Very uncomfortable beds, only 1 duvet per bed in middle of winter. Worst of all they dog attached to rope outside in very cold weather. Never again!

A dreadfull shocking place!! They don’t even have the rooms that they advertise on the website. This place don’t deserve one star, that is how bad it is!!

What a terrible experience, We were travelling from the Cape and needed a place for the evening. The only thing that worked properly was the fridge, the wifi was working but kept dipping. The fan was broken, the bedding old and shower was filthy, not as advertised on the website, the oldest of Tv's and bunny ears from the 1970's, Not worth the R550 spent,it was only worth R150 for the little electricity we used.

Akwela guest farm is a great over night place. They have cute rabbits and beautiful peacocks with a refreshing environment. I would recommend this place as a place to relax.

Stayed there for one night. Reception was friendly(stand in personnel- owners are on holiday). We booked in at 20:00 after coming from Knysna- and were knocked awake by the other guests at 4am to tell us there was a break in. The intruders were in their room and broke into our caravan that was parked next to the room. The security was non existant and when trying to phone the owners there was no answer. The ‘stand in’ personnel were also not equiped or informed for any such a situation. Personally I will not recommend the place. Overall view of the facility- below expectation of what the photo’s depict. Affordability yes but security and clean- no.

The perfect place for us. The perfect escape from the city and everything but still not far away from the city. I would suggest anyone looking for a real country side experience to try it out.

I have stayed over here a few times and have had a great experience every time. If you want 5*, this is not for you, but if you want peace, quiet, rustic, close to nature, friendly environment, that oozes serenity and a home away from home feel, then this is it. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything that you may require. Whatever else you need is just a simple request away from the owners who are very hands on and accommodating. I certainly recommend this fine establishment that is run on the premise of service and good family values.

Great place to stay for pleasure of as a business traveller. The venue has a restaurant that offers good meals at good prices. The wildlife is well worth viewing as several less well-known creatures can be seen by a patient and observant visitor.

Loved staying there with my two dogs. Deryck was such a great host. Rooms were nice, tidy and clean. There was a braai area and we were even provided with a braai kit. Lovely place outside of Bloemfontein, but grocery shops are nearby. Would always visit again with my dogs!

Hosts were very accomodating of our dogs until the morning we had to leave and lock them in the hot room because their workers were scared. Besides that, we had a good stay. Would suggest some sort of screen on the door to allow cool air into the room and keep the bugs out. But a good place as a stop over.

Nothing fancy here, but clean, safe and affordable farmstyle stayover. The rooms has a fridge, kettle, microwave, TV with basic channels etc. We received a very warm welcome, and the owner made sure we were settled in. Very friendly staff. Farm animals like ducks, chickens and bunnies running around and beautiful friendly peakocks. We had a good rest. I would recommend that they upgrade the linnen, towels and pillows a bit in some of the rooms as it was very old, but clean.

Road not suitable for small cars. Great accommodation.

Lovely friendly family that runs the guest farm. They made us feel very welcome! The place is lovely for children as there is a lot of farm animals like ducks, chickens, turkeys etc... And plenty of space for them to run around. However I am giving three stars because rooms are in dire need ot maintenance. Door handles fall off, the bathroom door doesn't close and no basin in the "kitchen area" despite being self catering. But a perfect overnight stay if you are just needing a rest stop on a long journey

For an overnight stay, it's not bad. Bedding and the room were clean and there is warm water. You get the sense that it was established and then just left. The finer detail and finishing touches were missing. We had to hear our neighbors each time they opened their front door, as the doors get caught on the tiles. There was no solution available for the mosquitoes, luckily we did pack some sprays. The maintenance is lacking, as we had loose taps, the shower head is clogged and the kiddies play park has broken items that were just left there. There are a few birds in cages and in the yard. The bunnies hopping around was a nice feature for the young ones. We felt safe and the sunset was breathtaking.
