I am not one to publicly blame and shame companies as I am fully aware of the devastating consequences this must have, but I do feel that keeping quiet about this could lead to other victims. I have been struggling to cancel my Edge fitness membership and clear my name for OVER A YEAR NOW after signing a one-year contract with Edge and following all the correct steps for the cancellation of my contract after moving to Limpopo. Debit orders were withdrawn from my account long after the cancellation, I was contacted by a debt collector's agency last year and after hundreds of discussions with the entire Edge team and at least a month's worth of airtime spent trying to get them to clear my name, the debit orders stopped and I was promised that my debt name would be cleared. A year later - this week - I was contacted by the same debt collection agency with an urgent notice for a massive amount of debt now allocated to my name, which soils my reputation and comes very untimely as we are currently looking for a new rental home and credit checks are expected. Please note that Edge fitness has a flawed cancellation system, continues to withdraw money long after even the huge cancellation fee is paid and the contract is closed, and refuses to accept responsibility or amend their accounts internally. Either this is a deliberate scam (I have found that I am not the only one who has had this problem) or they have managed to hire every incapable administrative assistant in Jeffreys Bay and for some reason ordered them not to talk to one another. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE.

I Do Not Recommend this gym. Poor Service. •Hidden Fees, they charge gym maintenance fee from their customers, about R200 per year. •Sales people, will pressure to sign a contract, which is not disclosed fully. There is 40% cancelation fee. They require doctors note or medical certificate to freeze your account, all this through an email system they never respond back.😡 • Linton grange branch has a carpet which stinks sweat 😓 , carpet on a gym??? • Handed over accounts. you are charged for communication, calls, email etc. When it’s handed over, opening balance can be up to R700+ on top of your initial balance from the edge fitness. Overpriced and ridiculous.

Absolutely fantastic gym! From the staff being exceptionally friendly, to having gym equipment in top shape, this gym really offers alot. Extremely clean facilities and very strict covid protocols (more than enough sanitizers everywhere as well as you get you're own cloth). The gym offered us a week pass due to us being here for vacation only, very affordable pricing (included was a free body assessment as well as a personal training session). Lastly their website was very accommodating as it helped us alot and works very well with their club link app. I highly recommend this gym, one of my best experiences thus far.

Definitely the best gym in Jbay, there service and personal trainers are excellent... More than enough equipment, staff is helpful and friendly.. really suggest Edge gym.

Terrible as far as professionalism goes and have been struggling with them making debit orders 7 years after I canceled and still they find ways to get money out of me without consent. Wish I could give them -5 stars and that they could be taken toe court since I'm not the only one by far that has this problem with them.

Do not sign a contract with them. - They lack professionalism - The staff members are rude and unable to communicate properly or to do their jobs. - They don’t respond to e-mails, and always have the same excuse like “ I will get back to you” , “ I will sort it out” but that never happens . They will simply act as if they told you something or you authorised something that also never happened. - They will continue to load new debit orders in the hopes that you don’t realise what they are busy doing even if there are major disputes on contracts or after contracts have expired and you have told them both telephonically and via e-mail that you want nothing to do with them or aren’t interested in signing any new contracts or the renewals thereof. - They also refuse to let you cancel your contract . I will never recommend this place to anyone ever.

There is allot of bad press and false accusations about this gym. Yes, they are not the same quality as Virgin Active and if you want to pay R700 for a monthly gym fee that's completely up to you. Edge is more affordable and a little bit less fancy I would say but there is nothing stopping you from having a great work out every time. As for the contract and stealing your money claims, those are people who didn't cancel their contracts or opt out before the contract ended. Just like any other contract from any other Company by law you will be held accountable. I have been a member for 3 years and when I requested a freeze on my account it was immediately implented. The months during Covid when we couldn't attend the gym has been fully refunded in free gym time for me on my membership and there is no such things as them trying to steal your money. Honestly they don't need it. Lol

Do not sign a contract with them, never approve a debit order.. you will regret it!! So many complaints about them... you will never stop paying them for nothing! Pls go have a look on Jbay online group.. and see for yourself...

Check out Edge's latest initiative. They are giving away FREE memberships to people who cannot afford it and could really benefit by joining this friendly, family oriented facility. I think this is an awesome gesture.
