Nice lodge with stunning views across the Chobe river. The room I was allocated initially stunk of damp & was quite dated, which didn’t give me the best first impressions! After speaking to reception they moved me to a different room on the other side of the lodge, which was much more modern & airy (and didn’t smell of damp!). The food was good, all buffet service with a decent selection to pick from and all the staff I came into contact with were very helpful. Really enjoyed the boat experience along the Chobe, great for spotting hippos and elephants, highly recommend doing this if you stay here.

It's a great place to stay and friendly staff but they should be more organized regarding the campsite as I was told only campsite number 6 was available although I wanted number 18. I insisted but they told me no saying it was occupied. Well, I slept at number 6 and no one ever came to sleep at number 18 and in many others camping spots... Also, more vegetarian options for lunch would also be appreciated.

The place is very beautiful and the staff is very friendly and quick to assist. All the way from Security, Cleaners, Gardners, Restaurant staff and the owners of Chobe Safari Lodge make the stay there worthwhile.

The lodge is great en the food is good. We've enjoyed the bush restaurant very much. Here you have a la carte instead of buffet. The campsite is nice but some of the spots are a little bit small, especially spot 4. If you are here make sure you go for the sunset cruise. It's beautiful and you will see a lot of elephant crocodile and hippo.

Faultless. 5* from the boss. Every want and need taken care of from the moment we arrived until we left. Fantastic setting right on the banks of the river with a raft of activities available at very reasonable prices. Food and drink options a plenty. This was a treat of a few days as part of a larger holiday in Africa for us - wish we had allowed for more time there! Wildlife aplenty and some of the most amazing sights we've ever seen right on the doorstep.

Beautiful eco friendly lodge overlooking the Zambezi river. Great campsite, showers, reception, bar and restaurant with Wi-Fi. Great customer service as well. The optional river cruise activity is amazing. Go for it!

1 of the “Top 5 African Properties to AVOID!”😂🤣 If you’re reading this with enough time to CANCEL your reservation, you’re SO LUCKY! 😆⌛️💳💰 We’ve stayed in some incredible hotels and camps in Africa—but this one was both awful AND strange. Dear owners of this business, we attempted to resolve this professionally but we’re going to have to add Under One Botswana Sky as one of our African properties to AVOID on our website! As experienced travelers, we’re pretty laid back/used to putting up with a lot, but NO ONE should have to put up with the experience you get at this Chobe Safari Lodge (Under One Botswana Sky). Yikes! You can end there—or keep reading if you like further details. We rarely need to bring concerns to management but in this case I actually asked before checkout if there was someone I could chat with professionally about our experience. I’m a pretty smiley person and I like to believe the best, and from one business owner to another I like to give the benefit of the doubt so I sat down with the woman the front desk indicated (Miriam) and first tried to share something positive before sharing our most unfortunate experience, almost hour by hour, at this hotel. (Major room issue and major staff issues, including myself being accosted by one of the male staff the one time I walked somewhere without my husband. THAT needed to be addressed.) Strangely, soon after she apologized and agreed our experience was absolutely not right… …my husband went to pay our $600+ bill (for 1 night), and the hotel claimed their credit card machine was down and forced us to pay cash. Okay, but… …on top of that interesting development, because of this claim they couldn’t take cards, the cash we did have was $8 short of the total…and they made the biggest stink about it—for 30 minutes! We were then half an hour late for our flight (!!!) because the two woman at checkout wanted to stand around arguing about 8 dollars they themselves apparently couldn’t collect. 😳 What a way to end a hotel choice we already regretted before the Weirdest-ever Checkout.

Here you can also stay very nice on the campsite and in the evening eat nice food in the hotel. Located directly on the Chobe and a boat trip is very worthwhile.

Day trip for safaris and lunch based out of this location. Wish we'd stayed here rather than Zimbabwe. Location is amazing. Great staff, clean, beautiful.

There is a lot of silent racism here. Both from the support staff( internalized racism) to the White General Manager. The waitress rush to greet and ask all white guests if they need help, as a person of color you only get approached to be asked if you need coffee or tea. It’s unpleasantly obvious. The General manager has a morning routine in which he goes from table by table to ask guests if their stay is pleasant, as a black person he will skip your table. Three nights here, I do not recommend. I suggest Cresta Mowana stayed there a number of times. No discrimination there.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location on the Chobe River. The rooms are lovely. The bathroom needs grab rails for the shower and bath but otherwise lovely. Food not to my taste but excellent breakfast. Most staff lovely except an unpleasant woman at reception. Be careful that you don't get charged for drinks you haven't had. Check your bill carefully before you pay. River cruises are wonderful. Chobe National Park very nearby for safari. Various wildlife and many birds within hotel grounds.

I've been told Chobe park is the best of Africa, and it's certainly true! This lodge is right next to it, and is tranquil and stunning. The service is excellent, and the rooms are wonderful. Ours had satellite TV, air conditioning, and wifi--which we didn't expect. The shower and bath were luxurious as well. You must keep the doors latched from monkeys and baboons--but it is amazing to listen to the sounds of nature while you lounge and sleep. Come prepared to tip everyone in cash. Tips are somewhat confusing, so ask reception how they work. Some are general and split, while others go to the soecific person. The morning and evening buffey were amazing! First class dinning. We did the game drive and river safari, which were both fantastic in their own ways. Finding the shuttle was a bit of an ordeal at the airport. Try to get through customs and passport control quickly to have time to ask where it is parked. And bring your own pen to fill out the entry form. Please do thos trip and stay here. You will thank yourself fir the rest of your life.

Absolutely love this place. I've stayed here twice now and both times were great experiences. The staff are amazing, the food is great and plentiful with lots of options, the rooms are stunning and the safaris are great value. Highly recommend this place.

If this is the best the area has to offer- don't visit. We spent 2 nights, we had 2 game drives and 1 cruise. The rooms are old, the doors have gaps of 1/2 to 1 inch top and bottom, bugs and whatever can and will freely enter your room. The air-conditioning does not do well cooli g the room until nightfall. The Game Drives are unprofessional and unorganized, and too many of the guides attitudes are terrible. The front desk, the restaurant, and the bar are poorly managed, with staff chatting each other and LITTLE SERVICE. Even housekeeping is too busy to get towels. With the current level of productivity and lack of supervision and management they need to double their staff. On a positive note the food was good and enough to satisfy any hunger. I do not recommend this lodge as operated unless it is your only option..

Enjoyed our 2 nights stay here....from checking in to checking out. Rooms were comfortable, food was good esp breakfast and dinner. The Chobe River cruise was fantastic with animals and bird sighting. The early morning game drive is not to be missed as we managed to see a pack of lions plus lions chasing their prey! A shoutout to their housekeeping staff, Penny, for her honesty/integrity - I left my handphone in the room while checking out, within a few minutes she came to hand it to me. Overall, highly recommended place to stay both for their hospitality and game drive/river cruise.

I visited many campsites in Botswana and each and everyone of them got 4 or 5 Stars. This was the most expensive with the least space. Because of the trees you can not open your roof tent and the grund is so u even you have to sleep in 30 degrees. Th

We enjoyed our lunch and Twinkle served us verywell. It was my sister's birthday and he made sure she gets some cake. We had the restaurant staff come and sing happy birthday to her 🎊

Quite outdated rooms and facilities, def not worth the money they charge. Some staff is friendly and professional, others are not trained and unfriendly. Breakfast was good, dinner was mediocre. The view onto the chobe river is nice. Kasane itself is awful, no restaurants to go to. I would not come back, I’d rather stay in the National park at a campsite

worst lodge on my trip to Afrika. huge place with no charme. bad food, both in the restaurant a la cart as well as in the buffet. no style. rooms are old and outdated. Moskito net is not working. at least staff was more or less friendly and safari trips and boat cruise was good.

Great location right on the river . Campsite under shady trees over looking the river . Unfortunately they were doing maintenance at the hotel and workers were using the ablutions. Can recommend . 21/25 August.

The kind and attentive service received at Chobe Safari Lodge was exceptional. Di and her team went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable. The location of the lodge is superb, with game (monkeys, warthog and buck) appearing right in front of our room. The boat cruise and land drives are great ways to see game and the guides go out of their way to make the experience a good one. I would recommend this venue without exception.

Chobe Safari Lodge was lovely. However, the person working at reception needs some serious training. He could not find our booking on arrival, had no knowledge of our boat cruises and was not helpful in any way - the reason for the low rating and why I would not recommend Chobe Safari Lodge. On departure, after I had settled the account and ensured everything was in order, he sent someone to come and tell me that I had not paid the account. It turned out that he found a charge for a bottle of water to our room. A basic glass of water was not included at dinner, but yet was part of the meal at breakfast and lunch. The land safari was a total waste of money. The guide was not interested in showing us animals and had a set route to follow. He was more interested in the coffee and cookie break.

Was there last week, stayed two nights with a group of colleagus. The food was amazing, straight from the pan. Dessert menu amazing. Stir fried with sauce of your choice. Went on a boat cruise and the guides where very educative and high spirited. Amazing place and great WiFi.

3 guests had the beam (🐟), two had double cheeseburgers, one person received 5 calamari rings and small chips. The 'elastic' was not removed from the calamari, I ask you how does a double cheeseburger compare to 5 calamari rings. This was a disgrace.

Our visit to Chobe Safari Lodge was okay. Positives: The Chobe Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Chobe river which allowed for amazing views and sunsets. Hippos can be heard at night. While the Warthogs walk around as if they run the town (pretty awesome to watch them). The Lodge itself is really nice and clean. Our Safari room was spacious - inside the room was still water, Basic coffee, Teas and milk, The bathroom is open plan, However there is a curtain that can be used to make it private. Basic amenities supplied. The Restaurants were amazing, food was great and they had awesome cocktails (the ones that were available) The Bush Lodge ( a short walk from the Safari Lodge) serves A La Carte while the Safari Lodge only serves Buffets. There is a activity desk where guests can book excursions. The Chobe river cruise was definitely worth it. The staff on the boat were very informative and went out of their way to make the experience memorable. (DO take snacks with you as they don’t supply any form of food on the boat - Only beverages is supplied - at a fee) Victoria Falls trip is definitely worth it! (DO take some still water with as no beverages is supplied during transfers) Negatives: *Staff - There was a handful of staff that went out of their way to assist - However we found majority of the staff to be very unhelpful and unfriendly at times - Also slow… everything is so slow. *River cruise - There we’re no snacks and/or food supplied on the 3 hour cruise. *Victoria Falls Trip - Crossing in to Zimbabwe is a nightmare - It takes allot of time - I feel that the hotel can keep border forms at their activity centre which can be filled in prior to arrival. The activity centre should also keep information about activities that can be done at Vic Falls maybe even book them for the guests prior to departure. The hotel really rips people off with transfer fees (taking in to consideration what was on offer during the transfer) * WiFi - Our Room didn’t have any WiFi * MiniBar Fridge - Our room didn’t have a fridge Summary: The Chobe Safari Lodge is an amazing place, it just needs to be managed correctly. Small things. I believe with some effort this place could be the top hotel in the area. Would I return? Probably, Yes.

Beautiful spacious lodge right on the Chobe River. The rooms are clean, the service is nice and helpful. The food was good. The Sundowner Tour on the Chobe is recommended, as is the Game Drive (elephant and lion guaranteed).

We came from kadizora camp okavango to chobe safari Lodge, although the some of the facilities are better here they have lost the genuine hospitality its to commercialised driven...food not bad. We have a luxury room, telephone don't work shower leaks & door to room does not shut properly...

Beautiful hotel location, grand service from Mr Life. Sadly we had to beg to be attended at the restaurant during dinner after being ignore by waiters for about 30 mimutes. 22/09/21 worst dinner experience . Anything else i can forgive but not when it comes to food. Covid should have taught u a few lessons.

Beautiful grounds and a perfect spot along the river. Camping sites are convenient, with accessible ablutions. The entire property seems well maintained, but some of the roaming animals are a nuisance. Security shot off fireworks (crackers) during dinner to scare away baboons, and it completely terrified us. Maybe give your guests a warning?!

  • 5/5 James T. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely a great winner. I saw some wild animals (warthogs with babies, deer, monkeys and hornbill birds from the balcony of our room. Game drives and boat rides were very nice. I caw hippopotamus, buffalo, crocodile, elephant, lion, springbok, baboon. Tested positive for Covid, and they really took great care of us and we could quarantine in place there. Excellent food and comfortable rooms.
