I had a chronic pain in my shoulder and collarbone for 3 or 4 years, maybe more. I didn’t think anything could be done about it. I didn’t know much about physical therapists and what was possible. I started thinking, this is what getting old is like. Aches and pains are going to develop, and you’ll just have to live with it. The pain in my shoulder developed over time, it wasn’t severe. It didn’t stop me from being active, (I like to run, work-out, ski, hike, etc.) but it was a constant nuisance. Always there, causing discomfort, sometimes real pain – maybe I slept on it the wrong way that night, it would bother me all the next day. Before starting treatment with Dr. Jesse, I think I spent a lot of time worrying. Worrying that I’d have the pain forever, that it would get worse over time, and other new pains were going to develop. I tried massage therapy. It didn’t work. In fact, after getting a massage, my shoulder tended to hurt more for the next day or two, returning to normal pain levels after that. Since coming to see Dr. Jesse, I am living pain free. For that, I am so grateful. Just as important, I’m not worrying anymore. I feel like any future issues can be managed and solved. In fact, that happened too - once my shoulder issue was resolved, I asked for help with two separate issues related to pain in my feet. Dr Jesse solved both! I was amazed. Obviously, resolving my issues is what mattered most. But what I really appreciated was the mindset Dr. Jesse had about running, in particular. I have always heard that you have to give up running when you get older. Dr. Jesse’s attitude was the opposite, he said with confidence, “We will get you back out there running, pain free!” To be honest, I was skeptical. But he was right. I don’t have to give up running or being active. And I don’t have to accept chronic pain for the rest of my life.

Dr. Jesse Riley is not your typical chiropractor in the best way. He treats holistically by identifying the route cause of the issue. He incorporates strength training into treatment. It is obvious when working with him, that he wants you to move better and with less discomfort. Dr. Riley has helped me with a strange foot numbness and lateral knee pain that occurs when running. He is creative with treatment and problem solving. Best of all, he is an all around good human, fun to work with, and wants the best for his patients.

I came in with a lot of hip pain, after trying several other physical therapists, yoga, and strengthening and stretching over the last 5 years. Dr. Jesse ultimately pinpointed the issue after only a few sessions. Thanks to his guidance and care, I'm pain free now, and even forget which hip it was that hurt sometimes. I appreciate his problem solving approach, and his genuine nature is also friendly and makes him approachable. I felt like he wanted to fix the issue so I don't have to come back, rather than get me setup on routine visits. He is that "partner in your health" that you hope for when you go to the doctor. Had I started here, it would have saved me a lot of time and money, oh yeah, and pain!

Jesse is an incredible PT and Chiro. I started seeing Jesse back in Sept 2021 for a torn muscle in my hip, and we also decided to work on a ton of other issues I have been having with my ankle, toe, and back. Since starting with Jesse, my injury has become almost completely rehabilitated and my strength and stamina has returned. He is very consultative and knows when to push you and when to tell you to hold up. My progression and overall health and strength is back to where I was before the injury. I am able to do all the activities that I previously did with no pain at all! I cannot recommend anybody higher than Jesse.

I have the pleasure of working with him virtually from Texas, and not only am I running pain free, I am also stronger than I have ever been because of him. Words cannot describe how incredible he is as listening, helping, and understanding whoever he is working with-even from MILES away. HIGHLY recommend scheduling a consultation call - EVEN IF you'd be virtual. I will continue to work with him to stay pain free and running strong indefinitely! 10/10

I reached out to Dr. Jesse as I began training for a half marathon. I’m usually 90% focused on strength training for my workouts. As I changed gears into a running heavy season, I was looking for programming specific to building up muscles to support my running goals and to avoid injury so that I could complete my run training. Working with Dr. Jesse was an easy call for me. It had been on my radar for sometime and as running isn’t my #1 form of movement, I knew I would need tailored conditioning to help my body as I was increasing my running load. While Dr. Jesse is a great option for managing an injury recovery, I actually chose to reach out with prevention in mind and it paid off. He even helped me navigate some “chatty shins” during my training and I was able to crush out my race with a PR. The app he uses for programming is super intuitive and clear. And he is super open to feedback to further dial in the game plan. I’m so grateful to have begun working with him. So much so that I continued our strength training plan (with some different goals) after the race. Movement and strength is incredibly important to me—for the now and for the future. And having someone in my court that is extremely body aware beyond my own understanding is such an incredible asset. Dr. Jesse is a fantastic resource in the Denver community, is delightfully goofy and all around wonderful to work with.

I can't recommend Modern Movement Clinic enough! I had a soft tissue injury from snowboarding that had been lingering and causing me issues. Not only was Dr. Jesse Riley able to alleviate the pain and increase my range of motion almost immediately, he gave thoughtful and detailed advice on how to keep working on my shoulder at home. You can tell that Jesse is truly passionate about what he does and it shows!

I am an endurance athlete, running coach, and an occupational therapist. As someone who works in the field, I am always particular in who I trust for my own injury rehabilitation. I reached out to Jesse after lingering calf and plantar fasciitis issues. He immediately made me feel comfortable, supported, and heard as a patient. Jesse helped me navigate rehabbing my injury and to transition back into training. I was able to increase my mileage while maintaining my strength work with his guidance. If you are like me and have wondered if Jesse was the right fit for you, make the call and book and appointment. Jesse is an incredible and supportive practitioner who fits every athlete.

Dr. Jesse is always very attentive, personable, and patient. He allows me to come in and babble, all the while keeping me in alignment. He is definitely my go-to for pre-race to get all the kinks out and providing encouragement and motivation. Thank YOU, Dr. Riley

Dr. Riley is THE BEST! He is not your traditional chiropractor, he is actually 10x better than that. He addresses your goals and struggles and makes a game plan by analyzing your movement patterns and muscle weaknesses. He has helped me with my hip and IT band pain due to being more left side dominant. He targeted specific exercises to strengthen my right side and rewire the way my brain thinks about movement. I love his philosophy of mindfulness and that has really leveled up my running and workouts

I am an endurance athlete and have worked with Jesse as a Chiropractor and Strength & Conditioning Coach on and off for 2 years. As a remote client, he has excelled in providing online consultation, assessment, and programming that outperforms any in-person clinics I have used (which is several). He is a constant learner and strives to bring you up to speed on your injury, rehab, and/or strength goals so that you also have a deep understanding of your mechanics. He teaches you to be curious about your pain and how to be present and interact with your body at you strengthen and rehab. Whether you are in an injury cycle or looking for preventative work, I cannot suggest a more qualified practitioner!

Dr Riley is the best athlete-focused, solutions-oriented Chiropractor & Physio I've ever worked with. Despite having moved away from the CO area, I still reach out to him whenever old or new ailments arise for his expertise. He has always been about solving the root cause and giving me the training tools to heal and strengthen my body out of the injury / ailment ... he's not going to just provide a band-aid without the necessary strength education so that you find yourself with the same recurring complaint over and over again. 10 / 10 for Dr. Riley and the Modern Movement Clinic! He's also hilarious and a genuinely good human you'll enjoy getting treatment with; bonus points for that.

Jesse did an amazing job addressing chronic pain in my knee and shoulder. Within the first week I had decreased pain and within a month I was back to running and climbing. Jesse gave me the tools I needed to stay healthy even after I no longer needed regular appointments. I’m addition to being highly effective Jesse is a great guy and is easy to talk to during appointments.

I had an outstanding experience working with Jesse. We addressed an ongoing issue involving inflammation with my knee. This issue was preventing me from using my full range of motion comfortably. Jesse was incredibly thorough and supportive through the entire process of addressing my concerns. He also provided me the necessary tools to communicate my needs to other providers (massage, acupuncture). Through consistent sessions of dry needling, e-stim, and strengthening with Jesse in conjunction with my other bodywork, I have my body back! Jesse’s space is private, inclusive, and comfortable. His knowledge and expertise is vast and his approach ensures your agency as a patient.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Dr. Jesse. At every single point of the process, from the consultation to initial treatment and subsequent sessions, he has been professional, effective and kind. I came in because an old running injury had flared to the point that I couldn't walk without pain. He dedicated a ton of time to listening to my history and goals before we even got started. That level of caring has extended through every single session I've had-there's always time to ask questions, get clarification and just workshop the treatment. He is without a doubt the most caring practitioner I have ever been to. His dry needling technique is 10/10 and I love that he will take video during exercises so he can show you exactly what's happening with your alignment/flexibility/joint function etc.. He's also, like, a cool human! It feels as much like hanging out with your super knowledgeable, very chill gym/running partner as it does being at a chiropractor's office. We've made awesome progress (I say "we" because it 100% feels like a team effort) and I'm ready to begin training for my next marathon feeling strong and pain-free. I also have the tools to take better care of my body going forward. Just schedule your dang appointment already!

Dr Jesse Riley has been a tremendous help to me over the past few years and I highly recommend him to any athlete struggling with injuries big or small or looking to accomplish big things. I am a chronically injured ultra-runner who has struggled with a myriad of overuse injuries through the years. I was referred to Jesse by my running coach to work on some chronic knee pain and a hamstring injury. I've gone to many PTs and have never had great results so I was very skeptical that he would be able to help. From my first visit, it was clear that Jesse was different than any other PT I'd visited before. He spent so much time just listening to my history with pain and actually used the information I shared to create a custom treatment plan. For the first time, I felt like my PT was actually invested in my results and wanted to see me succeed. With his help, I was able to complete the Leadville 100 Trail Run and now I have my sights on my first 200 mile race! Happy to have Jesse on my team to help see me over the finish line healthy and happy.

Dr. Jesse!! For context, I am a personal trainer and in the “movement is medicine” camp and am wary of prefab/rehab programs that dismiss strength training. So: Whenever I encourage somebody to visit him, I always tell them “he is NOT the typical chiropractor you’re thinking of! He’s not just going to crack your back and make you sign up for 10 more sessions. It feels good, but it’s not the solution.” He’s honest. He’s FUNNY. He’s relatable. (Go Midwest!) He talks in easy-to-understand terms that me and my clients who I refer truly appreciate. He understands movement & strength training, and his amazing knowledge of the body & rehabilitation works alongside his client’s goals/fitness/life. I met him on Instagram, build trust and admiration, and have loved every visit with him. I mean, while I love the dry needling and the massage gun relief, the best part is leaving the session with a game plan and honestly, just being in his company. He cares about clients. My clients who go to him say “I feel heard” and they go back. I’m grateful to have him in my circle. You will feel the same.
