They don’t keep the same providers with your child, they which up providers every couple weeks which is frustrating. It feels like my concerns are not being heard. Some nurses are nice and truly have passion for the little ones they are caring for and other nurses are just there for a paycheck. There are A LOT of newly fresh out of college students. The only thing which is nice is that they have sleep rooms for the parents to sleep in at the hospital to be closer to their child/children. The financial aid is very helpful and the Social Workers are super helpful as well. The cafeteria could use more options and their a bit pricey. I WOULD NOT recommend this hospital.

You guys are rock stars! My son has been a patient since day 4 of life. My son has different specialty Docs, Cardiology, Cleft team, Optometrist and they all are wonderful. Amber in the cleft clinic is an amazing Nurse and makes a huge Impact in my Sons life! I have moved out of state for a little while and my sons Docs were all over the place. Its nice to have your whole team under one roof. One of the main reasons of moving back was so my son can receive care here. Everyone I have ever interacted with has been absolutely great! My son loves the seacrest studio. Its also great when the studio hosts bingo and the kids can play from the hospital room. The therapy dogs make the kids light up! I try to give back as much as I can and one of those things is to donate blood. If you have time stop by the blood donor room :)

We are so lucky to have this wonderful facility here in our community. The care here is second to none. I’ve had 2 of my 3 kids receive cardiac procedures here and the providers and nurses know how to talk to kids on their level and they know how to ease anxiety (in kids AND parents!) I was well informed of what to expect and I was updated via text several times throughout the procedure. Everything is state of the art, and you leave feeling very well-cared for. I highly recommend Children’s Hospital of Colorado!

If I could give a Zero I would. Please don’t go to this emergency room. Since it’s built in an urban area classism exist. Most of the nurses are robotic in nature, which means there’s a lack of compassion and empathy. As a nurse I was extremely disappointed in the unsatisfactory customer service I received there. Before I left I told the nurse that this place suck!

The dermatology department nurses and doctors are great! They made my tween daughter feel comfortable with discussing her issues. They helped her voice be heard and cared about what she had to say. They were able to explain in "tween" language what her options were and we let her decide what was best for her situation. Having a medical dept. listen to our needs as a patient, was great. I will always recommend Children's Hospital Colorado to anyone! Keep up the great work!

Be very aware of HUGE hidden fees, (even for simple "outpatient" procedures). Before having children, I regularly donated to children's hospital. The first time I utilized their services with my own children, I was shocked, and angered by the amount of costs, and elevated fees, and hidden facilities fees, and quickly ended my donations) No one was willing to work with me back then to help with payments. They report the reason for extremely HIGH "outpatient" procedures is because they are billing on par with other Level 1 Trauma hospitals. I understand that, but don't suggest I easily just go down the hall for a VERY NON- urgent procedure that will then get billed as if I am coming into a Level 1 trauma hospital Emergency room. For one outpatient visit, I'm paying nearly $4,000 for IN-network visit. Nothing about it urgent. In fact, it all would have been cheaper had I gone to a level 3 hospital ER verses these outpatient offices. Do better with communication and transparency Children's! I will do everything to avoid setting foot in their facilities.

I will not be coming back to this hospital I have been waiting and am currently still waiting for my child to be seen for 3 and half hours later . Very disappointed in this hospital .I was told 3 times that we were next and continued to watch the waiting room revolve and everybody in there change multiple times . Mind you that I had my daughter that possibly needs stitches for a laceration and continues to bleed with a headache that has been overwhelming her.

I took my 8yr old daughter there on her birthday to get stitches. I requested the plastic surgeon. They convinced me that it was a perfect scenario for glue. It was right under her eye on her cheek. I believed them. Every cosmetic surgeon I have spoken to since and her pediatrician said this was a HORRIBLE choice. She now needs to have it recut by a plastic surgeon and stitched to reduce scarring. My poor daughter has worn a bandage under her eye everyday for a yr to help reduce it but it is way too big and deep. We have to endure this all over again bc of their poor choices and negligence. DO NOT TRUST THE ER DOCTORS

Our son has been going to CHOC for 12 years. Yesterday our son was at the hospital for an outpatient procedure. Every person we met from the nurses to the physicians were extremely kind and diligent. I was extremely impressed yesterday, because we know they all are working extra hard during this respiratory season. I wanted to express my gratitude to CHOC for taking such good care of the children in Colorado.

Me and my daughter have been coming here for 7 years for her tumor and most of our experience over the last several years have been good but the past year it’s been frustrating as far as receptionist miscommunication and now the doctor who we don’t see much of because he isn’t my daughters original doctor made us wait nearly an hour to be seen, we got the radiographs of my daughters tumor done then sent back to the exam room to wait for the doctor and he was stuck with another patient which I get but waiting almost an hour? We eventually left without seeing the doctor and now I have to reschedule to do the process all over again. To top it off the fact that we just walked out the doctor could’ve called us to follow up and apologize for keeping us waiting so long but never did so I don’t even know if my daughters tumor surgery was successful and or any issues regarding the surgery. I’m not one to leave reviews but being that we are “regular clients/patients” for 7 years and not having good experiences. Disappointing especially having to leave work to come to these appointments and messing with my pockets as a single mother.

It was horrible my sister had a very high fever and we were there for 3 hours straight. They told us that we’re next in line 2 times and no. The lady at the check in didn’t wanna go get my sister ATLEAT some medicine. It was overall so horrible -0

We waited almost 4 hours to be seen. A young girl comes in an hour ago and gets seen right away. No obvious symptoms. No coughing. Looks absolutely fine and they told us she came before us. Ridiculous!! That lady at checking should be fired!!!

I am impressed with the care that takes place here. On the night shift Luke and all other staff on the 6th floor are informative, friendly, and helpful. Luke was our nurse and he was incredible taking care of our kid. He had regular check ups not left all night and we recommend this facility. Also security is highly regarded here. Your child is safe! Thank you everyone for your hard work and GOD bless you.

The staff at Children's Hospital are compassionate and understanding. Our stay starting from the ER staff to the floor staff were top notch and provided the best care of my son. We were well informed every step of our stay. Each nurse was always willing to help and never made us feel like we were bugging them when called. Best experience to have during my son's illness. No where I would rather take my kids than here.

The Doctor seemed incredibly kind and genuinely caring and like he even enjoyed his job. I was amazed at how much he took his time with us and explained everything so well. He was very clear and thorough. I felt like I had a much better understanding of things after speaking with him. We left the appointment feeling so cared for and educated about what was going on as well as really confident about him caring for our child.

Everyone at Children's Hospital was incredible during our two visits with my son. Not only were people friendly and explained things to my son in a way he understood. Often, I feel rushed in medical facilities, like a number, not to the fault of the doctor but due to the busy nature of the business. We did not feel this way at all at Children's Hospital. People took their time with us and explained things and answered all our questions and most importantly, put my son at ease before, during, and after the procedures. I was bowled over with the professionalism and compassion of all the people we encountered. My son was not at all nervous as a result of all these factors. Many thanks!

Children’s Hospital of Colorado is a top notch facility, we couldn’t be happier with the service we received. From the intake, techs, nurses and doctors we were well cared for and kept well informed about the treatment plan for my son. Obviously going to the hospital is not something you recommend to anyone, but I cannot say enough great things about our experience we had and truly felt fortunate to be seen at Children’s Hospital of Colorado.

This is the best experience I’ve ever had at a hospital. My 12 year old son was admitted for a few days for a serious kidney injury from a snowboarding accident. The nursing staff was incredible - so kind and attentive and did everything to make him as comfortable as possible. The doctors were also wonderful. The hospital is very welcoming for kids and had lots of nice spaces and activities to keep kids in the best spirits possible. Hope your child never needs to be in the hospital but if they do, I highly recommend this one.

The BEST hospital I've ever been to! My child is receiving the utmost care. All the staff, nurses, cma's, and doctors are amazing and truly show they care. They take their time and do a thorough job leaving now stone unturned. Their Family Resource Center is excellent and can help you with whatever resources you may need while there. Parking is easy and free (they do offer Valet service also). Hospital navigation is also easy and they have so many people to help you find your way. If you have a sick child and are looking for an amazing hospital then this is the one you need! 5 stars all the way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In February, my daughter required surgery, and we had to travel to Colorado for the procedure. This hospital is absolutely fantastic. The nurses and doctors are very kind and professional. They treated my daughter and I very well and have even called and emailed to follow up with her since we came home. They are absolutely amazing! They were very understanding in the fact that it was a stressful and scary time for me and my family. The patients were very well protected, and everyone entering the hospital was required to stop at the reception desk to answer questions and provide the name of their loved one and their own name before entering. This was simultaneously annoying and wonderful because while i was in a hurry to get to my daughter's room, I was also very grateful they were doing such a wonderful job protecting my baby girl as she healed from her surgery. This is not something that every hospital does, so while it was at time irritating, it was also refreshing. Hospital navigation was very easy. My daughter was very well taken care of for the week that she was there. They actually released her earlier than they originally thought they would and were very impressed with how fast she recovered. They even helped us decorate her room to cheer her up and were very kind and gentle with her when she was absolutely terrified. The only problem we had was that the echocardiogram technician didn't seem confident and took way longer than expected to do the test. Also, there were 2 night shift nurses who were less than friendly, but i just figured they were just having a bad day, which happens sometimes, and i am not judging them for it at all. Overall, our experience with them was amazing, and I recommend this hospital to anyone needing one for their sick children.

We arrived Christmas evening and received such good care and cared by a compassionate staff who took such good care of our 14 year old boy. From start to finish, this was by far the best experience being at Denver’s Children’s Hospital. Our assigned nurse Izzy was also very good too and very helpful in getting the answers to all our questions. Honestly, nothing but good things to say under the circumstances.

I could not ask for anything better than the care my son received at Denver Children's Hospital Congenital-Adult Cardiology in Aurora. This is a very stressful visit for him and for us. We were met with the utmost compassion and care from the cardiology team in the months and weeks leading up to his appointment, to the smiles the moment we walked through the front doors. We really appreciated the Adaptive Care team in helping to make this visit a successful one. The nursing team and anesthesiology team on the pre-post cardiology unit are the best and made sure we were involved in how best to accommodate our son's needs. Dr Kay has been our son's cardiologist for a few years now and we are so fortunate to have him as part of our team and involved in our son's care. Edit to review - please start mandating masking again for employees! Patients and parents should not be getting viral illnesses after being here.

I took my daughter there to see a pulmonary specialist. Both our Doctor and the nurse were wonderful and extra thorough. We really appreciate that especially after everything my baby had already been through. The hospital was beautiful and very accommodating to children, as it should be. The only thing I would say needs a bit of work is the housekeeping. Our room we seen the Doctor in wasn't very clean and the faucet had hard water and mold around the tip. Beautiful facilities and amazing staff though. I really appreciate them all.

Three stars to the pedestrian doctor for working with us. He was amazing and very understanding. The staff on the other hand was not the best. We weren’t escorted to our room, we had to find it. The cafeteria staff to order food was bad, his attitude on the phone was poor for a children’s hospital. And the food was poor quality at least our pizza was not cooked properly. The only thing that was good was the yogurt that’s store bought. So that’s why I’m giving three stars.

We have spent a lot of time here due to my infants heart defect. I delivered there, he had heart surgery and also had another hospital stay and lots of outpatient visits. Unfortunately, the only things I’ve found consistent while receiving care here is there consistency to not listen, choose to sweep a lot of things under the rug, cut corners and not actually care about the patient. From our experience, the only thing they care about is to do the bare minimum (if that-usually I have to beg for that) so they can get a paycheck. Super disappointing. Thank God for second opinions and the freedom and intuition to get help from other providers at different facilities who actually care about the patient and their quality of life! We have had a few good nurses and one great GI doctor but the bad far outweighs the good at this hospital.

The entire staff was very attentive to our son. He was in the best care we could have found regarding RSV. I would like to highlight one RN in particular. Her name is Jacqueline and she was very caring, professional, attentive, and calming. She would explain everything to us as she would do it.

Absolutely best experience as a parent. My son was treated like the most important person from the moment we walked in to check in, to the moment we left. He wasn’t ever scared of the hospital environment. He loved being there and especially loved the paper airplane the check in person made him. As a parent, the doctor showed me the imaging, explained everything in detail and took the time to listen to everything I said and answer all my questions thoroughly. 100% hands down best experience at a doctors office or hospital setting. Highly recommend this neurology clinic and my son cannot wait to go back. Thank you so much for a great experience!

I had to stay here for four and a half days and well, it was great. The nurses were so kind and understanding, the hospital staff was so keen on making my stay there feel as comfortable and as welcoming as possible. The only problem that I have is a few of the nurses were not really that nice, especially the night nurses. But all in all 10/10 care team!

Is it strange to review a hospital? I feel like it is, especially a children’s hospital. So I’ll approach this from the angle of celebrating the excellent doctors, nurses, and techs who have, for the past six months, meant so much to our little family. We attend the neuro-muscular clinic and, as might imagine, are no strangers to doctors. Our child has had a lifetime of difficulty, managed by a team of doctors. But it wasn’t until we moved from out of state to the Denver area that we have felt truly cared for by his medical community. The doctors at Children’s are kind, knowledgeable, and confidence-inspiring. They take time — abundant time — to answer parent and kid questions with equal care and precision. The nurses are beyond excellent care-givers: they’re expert administrators, managing the clinic and all our child’s visits with expertise and deftness. The techs are equally masterful at the equipment and building relationships with patients. Thank you, Children’s Colorado. You’ve impressed us, you’ve cared for us, you’ve gone over and above to ensure us that we’re supported.

The overall experience was good. 8am appointment so we were taken right away! I was thrilled. We saw Dr. Wood who was excellent in dealing with my son, explaining really well the situation, focusing on my son, not so much me—which was good to see. However, once he left, we were instructed to “wait for paperwork.” About 45 minutes later, still waiting for paperwork. I poked my head out and I was finally noticed by someone who asked what I needed. I mentioned paperwork, and it was brought in to us a few minutes later…

My significant other and I received a fetal diagnosis of a congenital heart defect at our 20 week ultrasound. Because we live in a small rural town we were advised to go to Childrens Colorado for our care. At our initial visit we felt completely at home as we met each member of the team who would be working with us during our stay for delivery. Each team member took as much time as necessary to answer all of our questions and ensure we felt cared for. I cannot imagine our visit going better, and highly recommend this hospital to anybody looking for quality care. Despite the unease we feel about the diagnosis and upcoming delivery, we feel safe in the hands of children’s Colorado.

My daughter has been seen at Children's for years and we always have such a great experiences there. The doctors are so authentic and down to earth when helping the parent know what is going on and keeping updates coming regularly. I trust Children's with my daughter's care and have not been disappointed yet. They go out of their way to make her comfortable when life is anything but. All the people I have met there have enriched my life and calmed my nerves. With a special child it is hard to trust anyone to care for her. They know her and treat her the way I think everyone in our world should, with value.

I cringe every time a merchant ask if I want to donate to Children's hospital. They probably do a lot of good, but our experience has been terrible. They put off a benevolent persona, but they are really money hungry and on multiple occasions have attempted to collect money from us that they were not owed. I have lost so much time proving to them I did not owe them money. Now they seem to be understaffed and those working there do not know what they are doing. Very disorganized. My daughter had to get screws removed due to a previous surgery performed at Children's and they did not even have that even have that previous surgery in her chart and did not know why the surgery was being done. This was right they told us we needed to pay $8,000 before they could check us in for our surgery. They said our make out of pocket was $16,000 and we showed them right there printed on our insurance card it says $8,000 which we have long since hit. "oh yeah, your are right, huh huh" was there response. I have spent over $30,000 out of my pocket with Children's Hospital over the last few years and I am not happy!

We saw an allergist as our first appointment, it was a dream appointment. I was so worried it would just be a consultation and we’d have to go back for testing… more waiting. They saw my son for our concerns, gave him a scratch test on the spot. Offered flu vaccine which we graciously accepted during this time too. Then we were able to read results, work up a plan and we were on our way. I was so impressed with the thoroughness and kindness of the staff as well. My son got through it painlessly and quickly and we have answers and action plan. Love Childrens.

  • 4/5 Malissa H. 1 year ago on Google
The ER staff was brilliant and truly seemed to care about what we were going through-it was a shock to me that I saw the doctor so much as I’m used to only short visits with the nurses doing everything. The staff on the sixth floor were great too though but I rarely saw her doctor there which makes relaying things hard when you have to ask a nurse to ask them. My wife and I felt her exit from the hospital seemed a bit rushed after our daughter showed signs of doing better…she even had a set back after leaving the hospital. So while they were friendly and helpful, I felt the ending wasn’t overall satisfactory.

My baby was not doing well and they provided is with the BEST service possible with caring for her going above and beyond to insure she had the best care possible. Everyone was extremely patient and worked hard at trying to comfort my son when he was struggling. They were also very attentive to my needs as well, in making sure I was alright emotionally and had everything I needed for our stay there. Each of the nurses and doctors were very thorough and detail orientated. They were sure to explain every procedure to me and made sure that I understood. I'm so thankful for each person that we encountered! I knew we were in great hands from the moment we arrived!

Preface this review. It is ONLY for billing and not for the amazing care our cold received. Be very careful when checking in and insist upon doing so with a human who verified with insurance they only charge you the amount dictated by your insurance. To check in for an MRI for a follow up visit, patients are only given the option of using a computer. Several steps in a payment screen appears. Mine said my cost was $500. There was no signage allowing me to skip that payment and no information about checking in with a person. I felt compelled to pay the $500 so our child could get the MRI and see the doctor. I later looked at my copayment and the cost estimate was $186. When I asked the receptionist, she said it’s a glitch in the system that I could call billing, but said the positive is it will go toward my annual out of pocket. I called billing and was told it would go to my deductible, to which I said I’ve already met it. She then also gave me the line with giddiness about me just having contributed toward my annual out of pocket. Doing so is my choice, not theirs to make a mandate in order for our child to receive care. She then said she was emailing her supervisor who would determine whether or not she would decide to refund the over charge. What I pay should be directly connected to what my insurance states is the amount I owe rather than some arbitrary dollar amount that any overage can contribute to my out of pocket. This is criminal!
