👍 The bar is very beautiful and the restaurant has nice decor as well. The food was good but not great. We had the duck, escargot, carrot salad, and and mussels - All tasted fine except for the carrot salad; a bit weak and difficult to eat (pieces were too long). I was hoping to have an experience... The bar is very beautiful and the restaurant has nice decor as well. The food was good but not great. We had the duck, escargot, carrot salad, and and mussels - All tasted fine except for the carrot salad; a bit weak and difficult to eat (pieces were too long). I was hoping to have an experience that matched my extensive travels to France but it fell short. Lastly, the timing was off - long wait periods in between courses. I wouldn’t tell someone not to try out Chez Maggy, but it’s not at the top of my recommendation list.

Enjoyed their thanksgiving day menu. Beautiful French bistro spot inside a hotel, easy to find from the entrance but also feels separate enough where you’re just not open to the lobby. Beautiful space. The food - quality and quantity was great for the price. The butternut squash soup was amazing. Enjoyed the lamb chops and branzino. The brussel sprout and sweet potato side dishes were really good. Mashed potatoes were disappointing. Would’ve been happy without the pies. But overall a nice meal , server was great, set at a reasonable price and good drink specials. Would love to come back for their regular meal!

Came in for an early dinner after the theater. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Food was excellent. Highlights were the chicken liver mousse, spring salad, steak frites, and all of the desserts (of course). Great wine selection with lots of interesting offerings. Very good experience here, I will certainly be back soon.

We expected more atmosphere and better food. Almost empty and they sat us right by the hostess desk …hmm? Maybe that’s the best seating. Hard to say. The waiter was very nice. The food was average. The atmosphere was that of a hotel restaurant. We had the onion soup which was barely warm but they brought a new one. That was my favorite part . The beet salad was good. Scallops were fine. Lamp chops were ok. Won’t go back .

I dined with friends who were new to Chez Maggy and impressed with the overall service. Having been there a few times myself, I also found the servers to be attentive and committed to providing a great experience. Although our initial round of martinis had to be sent back, the server promptly replaced them without any issues. She went the extra mile by offering menu suggestions and honestly expressing her opinion about certain dishes. The food itself was good, but the bread was extremely hard, and the trout almandine had an excessive amount of almonds, resulting in an overly crunchy texture. Prices were on the high side, totaling $140 a head for three people. While the service was exceptional, the food didn't quite live up to the chef's reputation or the price. It might be worth considering menu revisions, especially since our server also advised against certain dishes on the menu. The dining room is gorgeous and inviting which allowed for a great backdrop for our evening.

Great addition to LoDo! Excellent staff, great vibe, and flawlessly prepared food. Knowledgeable and friendly staff already, even with opening just days ago. Bar area is surrounded with windows and excellent light and views. Circle bar gives it a friendly open feel. Menu is concise and clean, they were able to customize items easily to meet our picky needs. Also to note there is Reynard Social on the 6th floor for a strictly lounge feel, but doesn’t have a Google page yet! Cheers!

A cozy fine-dining French restaurant with a unique menu. I enjoyed their savory beignets and wine selection. The staff were friendly and made great suggestions to us. The location is perfect on Denver’s busiest street, near public transportation, and walking distance to some hot spots like Dairy Block and Union Station.

Decent food and drinks for a hotel restaurant/bar. We swung by Chez Maggy for Friday cocktails and snacks while staying in The Thompson, and everything was decent and fun! (The bar is a great spot for people watching.) Pricey but that’s expected these days. The drinks were well balanced - nigronis and Sympathy for the Duke. The fresh oysters of the day “from Vancouver” were poorly shucked having lost all their juices, but they tasted light and crisp anyway. The escargot with fresh baguette were a huge hit with us!

The Trout Almandine was fantastic, it was so tasty and perfect that my toddler ate an entire filet. I am impressed! Despite being short-staffed, our waitress was kind and helpful. Great experience all around.

*I rate fine dining harder than other restaurants. I do this because you pay a premium price with the expectation of it being a premium experience. My husband (of three days now!) went their for our wedding dinner. We were early and the bartender bought us a champagne toast which was very nice. We enjoyed the Confit Leeks at the bar, which were delicious. Once we got to our table, I was impressed with the lovely restaurant, decorated in a modern art deco style. Our server was sweet. We ordered the escargot, bison tartar, duck a l'orange, and Colorado Lamb and the mushrooms. I was particularly excited about the mushrooms since I'm a huge fan. On the whole, everything but the leeks and the lamb were under salted. The bison tartar was really good but because it was such a rich dish, the portion was actually far too large (weird complaint, I know)! My husband loved the escargot, which he'd never had before. The mushrooms didn't taste like any salt at all had been used. The were not good. the Duck was over cooked and tough, and the orange sauce was a sugar bomb. I was pretty bummed about this one as well since I'm a big fan of duck. The lamb was amazing! The server bought us two desserts to celebrate our wedding, a chocolate mousse cake tart thing, and a crepe cake. The chocolate dessert was finely done, but TOO chocolaty for me. The crepe cake was amazing. *They bought us a champagne toast, and two desserts, which was so very nice. On the whole we had a lovely night with really good service. I was a bit disappointed with the food, but we had a memorable wedding dinner! Thank you to the staff!

Kind, knowledgeable and attentive staff. Our server, Kylie, was wonderful. The New Look and Smokin’ Peaches cocktails were both fantastic and expertly crafted. Bison tartare was terrific. Duck and mussels dishes were both delicious. The Napoleon and Paris Brest were excellent to finish off an evening out in celebration of a birthday.

Amazing French cuisine and cocktails! Foodie lovers spot. Save room for dessert, so pretty and delicious I forgot to take a photo. Also amazing service, very friendly and welcoming. The interior design is also on point. Thank you Chez Maggy for a lovely evening. I'll be back soon.

The service was attentive but not disruptive. The drinks were delicious. The server was knowledgeable, including about the wines. The kitchen was louder for not being an exposed kitchen, which surprised me. The food was delicious but our sauces were room temperature and a bit congealed. The flavors were great, however.

Amazing experience. Our server Sue went above expectations for our tenth anniversary. Food was amazing, Ive seen reviews stating the crab cakes were like quiche. They were more of a delicate and rich texture, I had the Colorado Lamb and it was cooked to perfection. My wife had the omelette topped with caviar, decadence. We will be back to try what ever else they recommend us. Again, thank you Sue and have a wonderful anniversary next month!

We had the opportunity to try the Thanksgiving menu at Chez Maggy and it was sensational! Thank you for being open on Thanksgiving. The team was really lovely, engaging and had great insight into the wine selection. The lamb, the branzino and even the sides (sweet potato, brussell sprouts) were delicious and the portions were just the right amount for 2 people. I will say, the pecan pie hit the spot too. Looking forward to trying additional seasonal menus in the future :).

Definitely one of my favorite new restaurants in Denver. Worth visiting for a special occasion — or just for a quick stop to try the French onion soup. I originally came here because Chef Ludo Lefebrve is a famous Michelin-star chef and TV personality — but I came back because the food is amazing. ATMOSPHERE Located on the 1st floor of the Thomson in downtown, Chez Maggy brings just enough French flare to Colorado. It’s upscale, but not pretentious or stuffy. It’s dark wood and white marble table-tops in a bright atmosphere — not white tablecloths and dim lights. The service is super professional, but also friendly in a very local Colorado way. THE FOOD Absolutely delicious and beautiful, brining French technique and flavors to Colorado ingredients and farm-to-table expectations. The French onion soup is the must-try and what I can back for. Just so much flavor and goodness baked into a hot little pot and perfectly sealed with cheese! The duck and trout were both fantastic entrees, but I think everything here must be. Beautifully plated, thoughtful paired, perfectly cooked. You really can’t go wrong. THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME By the way, the name Chez Maggy honors Chef Ludo’s mother-in-law Margaret — who lived in Colorado and died tragically in a car accident here in 2019.

Wonderful experience! Classic French food with very small twists here and there. The small changes to some of the dishes did not distract from what you would consider classic recipes. The restaurant was packed for restaurant week, but Adam, our server, never missed a beat. He was informative, enthusiastic, and was always there when we needed him. The food was also outstanding, check out the pictures to see what we had. Chez Maggy goes on my "visit again" list.
