Ordered one thing at 7:40pm for pickup. They told me itd take 15-20 minutes. It Took 40 minutes and apparently forgot half of the meal, I’m not really sure. Paid $26 for it too. 2 stars only because the minimal food that i got was very delicious.

Carelli's is a must visit in Boulder for a relaxing dinner alone at the bar, a date-night, or dinner with the family and friends. A few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, you'll have to drive or take public transport. With that said, the restaurant has lots of available parking and plenty of authentic Italian atmosphere that makes up for not being exactly downtown Boulder. The owner comes from a traditional Italian family so although some of the recipes have been tweaked to suit an American palate, there are plenty of authentic Italian options. I lived and traveled in Europe for several years so coming back to Carellis gives me a little sense of nostalgia for the Italian atmosphere and wonderful food. The garlic bread is something made for us Americans, it's made-to-order and oooh so fresh and tasty. Say goodbye to the low-salt, plain bread that is ubiquitous to an authentic Italian dinner table in Italy—this is one of the adaptations that Carelli's does absolutely right... What can I say, I love garlic bread. I've had just about everything on the menu and can say that seeing the owner and head-chief slaving away in the kitchen most nights makes me understand why Carelli's is one of (if not the most) popular restaurants in Boulder. Pros: Atmosphere lighting Noise level Service (top notch!) Parking Fire tables (inside and out!) Cons: Not in downtown Boulder so I can't just take a walk on Pearl Street after dinner (not a huge deal I suppose). It can get busy most nights so a reservation is a good idea or 20-30min wait without a reservation works too. No Pico De Pepe on the menu.. come on, Carelli's.. get it together and make my favorite Italian dish! ;)

Service was great! Non-traditional food decisions will keep you guessing. Bruschetta on a french roll, gnocchi in a mushroom broth, creme brulee served unchilled.

I don’t know if we keep trying the wrong things… but we’ve been here twice and each time one of us hated our dish. The first time I got the parmesan chicken, it was fairly bland and just not what you’d expect for $20. The second time we were craving italian and apparently Boulder has Carelli’s and Noodles & Company for options regarding italian. We decided to give it another go, but let me just say, stay far far away from the gnocchi. We love gnocchi and this was the weirdest version we’ve ever had. They were hard, not crispy, just hardened on the outside and they were served in broth? Truly strange, and by no means good. We were so close to sending it back because of how bad it was. We got the calamari both times, and the calamari was consistent and probably the saving grace to our meals. The service is decent too, but on a busy night you can feel forgotten about. The ambiance is also nice, but the food is very hit or miss. We’ll probably not be returning for awhile and will drive the extra 20 minutes to go to Olive Garden if we want italian.

This was hands down one of the most incredible Italian meals I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s a hidden gem in Boulder and well worth the money and time. Everything is seasoned so deliciously and the service is impeccable. The vibe is warm, inviting, comfortable and encourages you to relax and stay a while. The garlic bread is the best I’ve ever had, the drinks are great and the food is so amazing you’ll be back for more!

This place has the best Italian food anywhere. What I love the most about this restaurant is it is so consistently good in service. The servers are there when you need them and gone when you want to be alone. They must have good management and training because it’s hard to get good workers nowadays. I guess it also helps that the owner is so hands on in the business.

Carelli’s is our favorite special occasion spot. Everything we’ve had here has been above and beyond delicious, and we always spring for an appetizer or dessert to try something new. Their pesto is fantastic and their crepe bar is a novel dessert experience. Their staff is always prompt and knows the menu, and their manager is attentive as well, hopping from table to table on busy nights.

We had an amazing experience. They have a gluten free menu, I have celiac disease, they have plenty of gluten free choices and it was absolutely delicious. I had a gluten free pasta with mussels and artichokes and creme brulee for a dessert

We were celebrating our engagement and staff went above and beyond to CO granulated us! We sat next to the toasty fireplace inside which was nice. All our food came out quickly and was hot! The Tortelini and Bolegnese were great. Our Canoli and Crem Bru Le were all excellent. We will be coming back!

As always fantastic food, service and ambiance. Celebrate a friends birthday here tonight. Wonderful for special events or just a drink 🍸 at the bar. Their Pineapple Martini's are out of this world. Enjoy

As a single diner with no reservation, I was directed to sit at the bar, which was fine. The bartender who served me provided impeccable service. The Mushroom pasta was great, I all of it, and it came with bread and butter. There is a reasonably-priced Happy Hour drink menu, from which I got a got a glass of wine. The bartender presented me with the dessert tray, all of which had heavy, calorie-dense offerings, so I opted to go with Raspberry Sorbet, which was perfect to end the meal. I would definitely return.

Great atmosphere! Popular spot, had to sit at the bar because there were not available tables and the wait was almost two hours. My husband said he had one of the best lasagnas in a while! Their sangria was super tasty! The bread with butter was crunchy and perfect accompaniment for our meal. Chris was the best! He overheard we were celebrating our anniversary and brought us the most delicious chocolate cake for dessert! He also paid attention and realized we were traveling, so he packed our to go food with utensils. Thank you!!

JT, the bartender, was really nice. I got good service even though I’m a younger guy and I was in a college town. This place made me feel respected. Came here after a long hike. It was just the fuel I needed to get my body feeling right after pushing it on a big hike.

Real professional wait staff. Pace was slow, but we were in the mood for that, anyway. Considering they were serving an enormous party in the adjacent banquet room, I couldn't believe the kitchen kept up. Even the tiniest slip-ups in service were covered by server-manager coordination and made the evening seem smooth and a real treat. Food and drink (nice recommended wine choice, by the way) were just what we were hoping for to celebrate with visiting family. Crepes for dessert!

Amazing, amazing food. Perfect atmosphere. We had a service failure during our dinner but it was immediately compensated for. It was also a busy weekend with students coming back to town. Will 100% return and worth the trip if in the Boulder area

Food was great, plenty of good options. There was a bit of a wait, but we had no reservations and still got a nice table in reasonable time. The service was great, our waiter was excellent. Atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Prices were a little high, especially on beef products, but the service more than made up for the higher prices.

Had an absolutely amazing anniversary dinner! The wine was excellent and the food was even better; We started with a carpaccio, then an arugula salad + tri-color tortellini, and then finished with risotto funghi and salmon margherita.

Plenty of gluten-free options. Love the gluten-free rustic bread! Family enjoyed the creme brulee and kid, a pasta-enthusiast, loves their dishes. The service is good and not forceful or hurried. The place has always made it a good family dinner location.

This place was amazing. When we arrived we were told there was a long wait. We waited an hour and it was SO worth it!!! Being our anniversary night we were anticipating something sepcial. When we sat at our table they included pillows. Several of them. This was so welcoming. Also I'm not a usual fan of lemon water but this lemon water was so refreshing! Cindy our server was absolutely amazing and gave us several detailed suggestions of her favorite dishes. With this being our first time in we were torn between all of the options which included many vegetarian options as well. We went with the cheese plate and were surprised to pair truffle cheese with grapes and fresh and warmly toasted raisin bread. We got the kale soup which was super flavorful. And the minestrone was vegetarian as well. Entrees: we ordered salmon margherita with fresh pasta the salmon was perfectly cooked moist and full of texture and flavor. All though this was fantastic we also ordered tri colored tortillini and added 4 scallops.the scallops complimented this pesto pasta in every perfect way. I would highly reccomend this pairing with the scallops. We paired our entrees with a white riesling that was very light and, sweet and fruity Desert: we tried the banana rum crepe and paired it with amaretto this was served very fancy and was a filling desert to finish the date night.

Ambiance and service was good (which is rare in Boulder), but the food was too oily (it's a bit over the top). Was hard to taste the ingredients because of the one too many oil drizzles on everything. Cocktail was good (visiting for a drink is good!), but dessert tray display is a bit outdated and not very nice looking. Waiter was great and very sweet.

Nick was our server. An amazing guy. Humorous young lad. We got the fettuccine Alfredo and the tortellini, bottle of wine and a homemade crêpe. The fettuccine was so buttery and so thick. Really an amazing entrée. It’s the most amazing fettuccine Alfredo, that I’ve ever had in my life.

Have been trying to get a table here for the last two months when in town. Finally got a table tonight… Vibe and decor was very nice. Cozy and comfortable, easy to have a conversation at our table for 4. Service started well, but our waiter drifted off once entrees were delivered. Very slow drink service and we waited for our check 10 minutes after staff had cleared the table. No desert tonight! Food was very bland. No lemon flavor at all with chicken piccata, chicken wasn’t coated in flour, minestrone was also lacking in any real flavor. Caesar salad had the traditional anchovies, but the sauce was very thin and lacking in flavor. The hunt for quality Italian food in Boulder continues…
