Food and service were fine but I completely disagree with the “4% kitchen living wage surcharge”. It is a way to artificially make their prices lower than that they are. I think they should pay their people a thriving wage and let their prices reflect that. Please directly include the 4% in the prices and if you like, let the customer know about it at the bottom of the menu. I strongly support decent wages reflected in higher menu prices. This surcharge shows that the business is not treating its employees fairly and just relies on customer guilt.

Leaf is probably the best option if you're looking for a vegetarian/vegan place in Boulder. The have several appetizers, sandwiches, main dishes and dessert... Everything is delicious. You are going to have a hard time deciding what to order. I'd suggest trying the "Calamari Style Oyster Mushrooms" and "Orange Cauliflower". Their carrot cake is amazing. People is super friendly and the place is very cozy. 100% recommended.

We tried several vegan dishes over two visits. One dinner and one brunch. All the food was great. I particularly liked the breakfast burrito and preferred the carrot cake to the cheesecake. The avocado tartare was a refreshing and original appetizer. Great service too

5 stars! This place has tons of vegan options. Go for brunch, the biscuits and gravy are amazing. My wife also really enjoyed her vegan version of the French toast! Everything was high quality, but beware the spiciness of the smothered burrito. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Boulder. A vegan's delight.

Very cute place. Great decor. 5 stars for food presentation. But food was more aesthetically pleasing than palate pleasing. We ordered the udon noodles and jamaican jerk tempeh. The udon noodles tasted predominantly of soy sauce and were missing other flavors. The jamaican jerk tempeh was a little too heavy on spices. It tasted amazing for the first couple of bites but then got too much for me. I would rather have this shared than as an entree for myself. They also give complimentary vegan focaccia bread which was nice. I averaged out 3 stars for the good ambience, great staff and pretty average food.

Quite possibly the best vegan food I’ve eaten in my 20 years as a vegan! Everything was just unbelievably perfect! The calamari (mushrooms!) alone are worth coming here. The non vegan with us was obsessed with the carrot cake and swears it’s the best ever

Great Vegan Restaurant in Boulder. I am very loyal to True Foods for vegetarian food but loved the food here. The place is clean, fast and serves delicious meal. Wasn’t happy with the service as the server was not attentive. They are understaff! So the bartender is your host and server too! The have several appetizers, sandwiches, main dishes and dessert... Everything is delicious. You are going to have a hard time deciding what to order.

I cannot talk this place up enough! Leaf is a wonderful place for you to go and hangout. If you are looking for an accepting, community forward establishment, this is it! The staff is just as amazing as the food is. There is no hustle and bustle, just great vibes, even on a busy Sunday. It's a calm and loving environment for all walks of life that enjoy good vegetarian food!

Have visited twice this week and cannot recommend enough. We are both vegan and visited for lunch and brunch. Pictured here is my brunch of banana French toast and my Ruben with seitan and fries. Our server Ryan was so warm and accommodating, knowledgeable of the menu and a great host, thank you so much. All the staff were so kind and welcoming. Restaurant is clean, comfortable and pretty inside and out - coffee options are lovely too. Will be back again. EDIT: I did go back again! Happy hour menu photos attached :) EDIT 2: additional visit photos added!

WOW! This place is the bomb. Jack fruit enchiladas were amazing. The calamari style oyster mushrooms the best ever. Oyster mushroom risotto spectacular! Carrot cake deslish...I'm a meat eater and was astounded by the flavors and textures here. Recommended this place 💯

Tasty food with great service. We loved that we could choose anything on the menu and not worry about whether it was vegetarian. Lots of options, so it was hard to choose. We ended up going with the carrot risotto (the mushrooms were the star of the plate) and the Jamaican jersey tempeh. Would definitely recommend both!

Historically I have really liked Leaf, but my last visit dimmed my opinion of the execution and flavors. Firstly, we ordered the Leaf board, and about 90% of everything on it was pickled — far from being balanced in flavor. I then got the Mu Shoo vegetables, which was quite strangely put together and again not well-balanced. The rice was stacked in the middle, and then the vegetables and tofu were wrapped in little tortilla/pancakes, sauce squiggled on top, and placed around the rice. The “vegetables” were all cabbage minus some small amounts of black fungus and carrot. All of this was accompanied by some more pickles on the side. It was an extremely strange presentation that took away entirely from the dish, which itself was what I would consider no more than average in flavor. My friend also felt that their Jamaican jerk tempeh was too sweet. Finally, for dessert, while the cobbler was fairly tasty, the peaches in the cobbler were quite hard — clearly not ripe enough. I’d just ask y’all to do more quality control and to taste your dishes more regularly. Flavors are not well balanced in current state and the overall put-togetherness of dishes is lacking.

Loooove this place. Their fried oyster mushrooms are so good - I always have mushroom haters try it and it changes their mind on mushrooms. Their pastries / desserts are incredible. Breakfast, lunch, dinner… it’s all so good!

A vegan staple. I try to come here every few years when I visit Boulder. Hadn't been back since 2018. I got the kale juice with a refill and the samosa cake, with carrot cake to go. My partner got the cauliflower taco and udon noodle appetizers. Very busy when we went but didn't have to wait long. It looks like the menu has changed a bit. No vegan cheesecake available. :/

Great restaurant in Boulder. I had ans would recommend the breakfast burrito with eggs. The pancakes were also a delightful treat. The pricing was reasonable, offering value for the quality. The servers were friendly and added to the positive dining experience. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, Leaf is a solid choice for a satisfying and friendly brunch outing.

Leaf has the best upscale/unique vegan food in Colorado. I have been here at least 20 times and it’s always great. They have a great happy hour too! Finally had to write a review after trying the jackfruit ceviche

Beautiful restaurant, friendly service, mostly flavorful dishes but very overpriced. The dishes we had were not filling and there were not enough vegetables. Plant-based meals need to contain enough veggies and carbohydrates to be satiating. The Jamaican Jerk Tempeh ($18.75), while beautifully presented, was basically 3/4-1c cooked red rice, 1/8- 1/4 c fruit salsa, a very essentially thin slice of, some coconut based sauce snd 1 very small kale leaf. No tempeh visible. I’d estimate the raw ingredient cost of this dish as it arrived yesterday to be $3.50 max. On the menu it said “sautéed greens” . I had even asked the waiter what those were and he said kale. I would never have ordered it with essentially 1 kale leaf! The Udon soup we had should have been brimming with noodles and veggies but it was mostly broth. Very disappointing! As an appetizer we had a “small plate Calamari Style Oyster mushrooms” ($13) excellent texture but no flavor other than in the two dipping sauces (one was sweet Thai chili straight out if the bottle).

OMG! What a great find this place is! I was visiting Boulder, looking for something vegetarian, and had the great fortune to choose Leaf! The food is amazing! And the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The Seitan Ruben (seitan, but they also have tempeh) is amazing, only bested by the creative and surprising Seaweed Salad! I also had cold chai massala, which made me realize chai doesn't have to be hot. It was perfect! I wish I lived in Boulder so I could eat at Leaf often!

It had been many years since I last dined at Leaf, and I was SO happy to go back and be delighted. The food was so good. I had a lovely glass of wine and the Orange Chicken. Very delighted by the array of delicious vegan and gluten-free options. And any place that has a lot of outdoor seating is winning in my book. Can't wait to go back and try other things.

It's one of the best vegan places I have been to. Being a vegetarian and not vegan, it's always hard to find good balanced menu options without meat but dairy included. Their cheese almost tastes like real cheese. We loved the avocado toast - the sesame seeds and pistachios on the it were icing on the cake. Mushrooms burger was excellent!! The hit of the lunch was my beet apple carrot juice... it was refreshing 😌 ☺️ Nolan W made the whole experience very polite and amazing. Thanks, Nolan, for serving us!!

Loved the food! They have a good amount of veg/vegan options. Ordered Bibimbap, Spicy Garlic Noodles, Jack-fruit Enchiladas and the leaf board. A great place for vegetarians!

Such a beautiful afternoon to have a late lunch. Outside seating is great. The mushroom and the crab cake burgers are a must have. The sweet potato fries are a great substitute for $1.50! Try them!

Stopped by for happy hour on a Saturday. Plenty of seating, including the patio. We got the strawberry fields house cocktail and the orange margarita breakfast cocktail (not on happy hour but relatively cheap). The house cocktails aren't cheap, but the strawberry fields was really good. They do have other drinks options on happy hour, which are more reasonably priced. We also got the spicy garlic noodle and calamari style oyster mushrooms. They were both very good, but the small serving size for the garlic noodles was not great for the price.

Food is delicious and portions are large. Very creative ingredients and nicely presented. Carrot risotto was surprisingly spicy— need to indicate this on the menu. Don’t skip the focaccia— some of the best we have ever had. Berry crumble dessert was A++++

Amazing vegetarian restaurant. As an omnivore, I walked in with no expectations. The food was amazing from the fancy fried mushrooms to the Bibimbap entree . The cocktails were refreshing, balanced and delightful. I would definitely eat here again and again.

So I eat here a decent amount . This evening I was told they are reducing the amount of food the ate serving to make the food a better quality?? As I’m eating my meal in which I eat mostly when I come here. It is significantly smaller my plate . This taste the same as the last time . So this is interesting to me . In my opinion they are making a smaller plate to spend less per meal . Will I come yes because I enjoy the food but . This isn’t cool . Whatever most be related to Covid right ???

Love Leaf! We have been there several times, and have loved everything we have tried! I love knowing there is no meat on the menu and they are very vegan friendly.

Great food great service! Cauliflower tacos were one of the best, nicely crispy juicy and flavorful! The dishes were original and not fake meat ones.

Leaf is my all time favorite restaurant in Boulder. It is actually one of the main reasons I agreed to move here...I bring everyone I know to Leaf, locals and visitors. The menu items are all fabulous and a vegan's delight! I celebrate all my special occasions there, as well as just going as a treat when in town. Highly recommend to one and all!

Great ambiance and wonderful setting, but the food didn’t meet the excellence set by the mood. I would recommend the seasonal smoothie though. And great service. Please look at the photo of left food.

Great vegan spot! The Buffalo cauliflower tacos are KILLER and the enchiladas were off the charts

The food is tasty and feels fresh - only issue I’ve had is they haven’t gotten my order correct once. Either missing something, or sent the wrong item. Definitely check your order before you leave if you are getting take out.

The vegan/gf blueberry pancakes tasted like funnel cake 😍 Great options for my friends with dietary restrictions and those without. My non vegan friends loved it! Also, the restaurant has beautiful natural lighting and a nice outdoor seating section as well.

Avocado and mushrooms appetizer was great. Sandwich with GF bread -- not. Interesting vegan cheese cake
