Visited this restaurant on our way back from Rocky Mountain National Park. I thought this going to be mediocre food. Easy access from road, staffs are so nice, very neat place. We ordered Efrain ( super delicious, must try, very big plate), beef burrito ( spicy and delicious, they can adjust the spice), beef chimichanga ( best one we had), vegetarian taco( so tasty, spicy lovers ask for more, their sauce is very tasty). This is one of the best Mexican food we had, its not Tex-Mex, if you are passing through Denver or Boulder definitely try this place. Not at all expensive, quantity is really good. We will definitely try for our next visit.

We LOVE Efrain’s! They always hit the spot with their delicious fajitas, tostadas, and enchiladas! My husband and I eat here once a week, and it never disappoints. It can be pretty busy on a Friday or Saturday night, but we’ve never waited all that long on busier evenings. The service is always top-notch and everyone is very friendly and kind. I also love that they keep the chips and salsa coming! I absolutely love their Boulder Margarita, and they have about 15+ different selections of margaritas to choose from so everyone is happy! My favorite meal is the chicken fajitas. You will not be disappointed-they give you a massive portion with lots of delicious guacamole, beans, rice, and sour cream to enjoy your fajitas with, which I really enjoy. Best fajitas in Boulder hands down. My husband loves their blue corn enchiladas. I would also like to mention that they are gluten free conscious, and have many items that are 100% gluten free to choose from! This is a Boulder gem of a restaurant!

The reviews were very good yet the food didn't stand up to it's reputation. Service was awesome. Orlando did a great job. Overall the green chili was more like soup. Very thin and not a lot of substance, just like the salsa on the table. Great little place for a quick lunch. They get you in and out.

Very delicious Mexican burritos and their Green Chilli sauce is best, I had horchata everytime I visited Efrain’s. Quantity wise its a lot and well worth the price, wait time could be 15-20 mins after ordering.

We love Efrains! The food is absolutely delicious and the service is fantastic! The coin margarita is excellent, and highly recommend the shredded beef burrito, relleno and the enchiladas! Cute little patio - such a great neighborhood spot.

I called to get carry out and I ordered fajitas. The girl told me they won’t do fajitas to go??? I decided to order some enchiladas and a bunch of sides to make my own fajitas. The girl explained to me I couldn’t order a side of cheese, only chili con queso??? So I said fine I’ll have that I guess. I got home with my order and the order was completely wrong including some insanely spicy beef stew looking thing and like a tomato soup. The enchiladas were so drowning in tomato sauce I could even figure out what they were! Absolutely terrible experience. The beans and rice were good so at least I got to eat something. I don’t know how this place has been around for so long.

Phenomenal Mexican restaurant with a great menu and amazing tasting food. The restaurant is owned and run by a local family that love what they do. The fajitas were delicious and I liked how they gave raw onion as one of the fillings. The meat that came with the dish was a generous serving and delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone. Be warned though, this place gets really busy, so come really early and prepare to wait. But grab a margarita while you wait.

We had a great meal at Efrain’s tonight complete with a rainbow view. Do take the heat readings seriously! The Efrain’s Famous Chile Verde bowl was fantastic and earned the 10/10 heat scale! The Efrain Burrito was gigantic and delicious. My kiddos were happy with their hamburger and chicken tacos. We hope to be back soon!

The service is ALWAYS 100% prompt and friendly! Freshly made coffee is on point. Seating is nicely planned with good lighting. If you are accustom, to DenMex; you will love their fresh food. P.S. This IS that out of the way, from Boulder metro....use it as a sweet, quick, date get-away. Or just eat outside and enjoy, the view. This IS a LOCAL favorite and family run. Ask about Vegetarian alternatives, and what works for you. They will help with good, suggestions.

Excellent food and service, highly recommend for authentic Mexican cuisine. My sister has been raving about their food for forty years. Although this may be new location, it has same great food.

HEY OH!!!! This stuff got moved! We are now in downtown Boulder… basically. Efrains is now officially located right next to McGuckin. They are fully equipped with a massive freaking bar and a massive real-deal patio. Their indoor area is bigger and more open than before, less tunnel-y and claustrophobic than the last location. The colors are extremely vibrant here. I still have my five star review because it’s all about the food, flavor, prices, and the portion sizes are still with us. However! I am expecting price increases extremely soon. This is my 6/2/22 update. Old review: The best Mexican restaurant in Boulder!!!!! But really this is some of the biggest portions, best prices, and most authentic food in the area. Huge selection of margaritas. I recommend the efrain burrito. It’s the best thing on da menu.

I say 3.5 🌟 they rush you in and out. Chips and salsa was okay salsa bit runny and thin. I ordered the chimichanga burrito and it wasn't crispy at all! Was just like a burrito. The shredded beef had good flavor. Rice and beans just bland. The plate was super hot like they just oven baked my food on plate. Margarita was weak and light. Just wasn't impressed at all.

We dropped in for dinner and drinks after hearing about this place. It reminded us of our favorite family-run Tex-Mex joints back in Texas. Plentiful and fast chips and salsa, well-priced strong margaritas, and hot, flavorful, home-cooked food. For us, Efrain's is the perfect "comfort food" restaurant, and we will return again and again!

We got lucky and found one of the best Mexican restaurants in Boulder (that's what the other guests told us while we waited). I got the Efrain Burrito = "delectables covered in who knows what" is the description. I took the chance and it was delicious. House Margarita was good. Wait staff was attentive. The only negative is the place is small and demand is high, so expect to wait a bit... worth it.

Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurant I have had. This one hits top five for flavor, service and style. Got the Efrain’s Burrito and couldn’t have been happier. It was packed with chicken, beef, rice, beans and more flavor than I can express. Put it this way I was using chips to scoop up the sauce and rice. The Jalapeño Infused Margarita was good as well. Can’t beat this place for the food, service and price. Only wished I lived closer to make this a regular go to.

Nice new location. Enjoyed a nice meal. Avocado appetizer could be better. The spicy pork green chili was not spicy! That was disappointing. Hope someone at the restaurant reads this review and fixes the issues. I love Efrain's ! ❤️

Flavorful southwestern cuisine (of course, from the Mexican perspective, it's northwestern). Delicious chilis, shredded chicken. The food can be as hot as you wanted to be, depending on your taste. Enjoy the flavors of the dishes, which are strong but not overwhelming. I enjoyed the delicious blue corn tortillas at the base of my dish. Even the chips they provide for the tables as a starter are quite thick and substantial, paired with liquidity salsa that has a bit of heat to it. The walls gleam with the distinctive turquoise and gold colors of the Southwest, and pottery and baskets from the region line the shelves. There is the overall sense that this restaurant seems uniquely committed to the customer experience, from the food to the overall ambience. If you like southwestern food even a little, come here and you will not be disappointed.

Great Mexican spot in Boulder! The food feels a little more “Tex Mex” style— which I have been missing big time in Colorado. They’ve got good green chili with a decent spice level too. We ordered the Efrain Burrito and Chicken Enchiladas. Both hit the spot. We will be back!

I love this small family run business, their food is delish! And their margaritas are so tasty. Somewhere on their land they also have a bee hive that produces honey you can also buy here. It makes a great gift to take home after a great meal! My favorite are the cheese enchiladas. Their red sauce is addictive and I love it with chips and as a topper for the rice and beans.
