LOL… really should’ve read the reviews before coming in. What all the other 1 stars state are true. The owner really forces his own political beliefs down your throat, and he repeats it endlessly. The food was also a joke. Look at the portions.. all of them barely cover the bottom of each dishes, and my mom really lost appetite because she could tell the ingredients were not fresh at all and they felt like they were made from leftovers. The owner kept speaking his beliefs even when we were eating, that only after we spoke up that we’d like to eat, he left. He brought the bill while we were eating as well.. like he was ready to have us out. From the moment we entered his restaurant to the moment we left, it had been less than 30 minutes. Everything was rushed and so were our minds because we were so so uncomfortable. We were the only people at the restaurant, and the whole experience was the most uncomfortable out of all I’ve experienced. Stay away.

I’ve never been yelled at by a restaurant owner. :( My parents and I sat down. We told him we would order a soup, a bibimbap, and a squid stir fry. Without saying anything, he goes to the kitchen and then without apology, tells us there’s no more squid. So then we looked back at the menu and didn’t really want anything else so we said we would just take the soup and the bibimbap. He angrily takes away the menu and says “you’re being very rude. I’m embarrassed that you are a Korean.” So then we were flustered and said “sorry we just don’t really want anything else.” He continued to be mad and raising his voice so we said “okay. Can you give us the menu back so we can choose something?” And then he really yelled and said “you already ordered your two dishes. Now you’re asking for another menu?! You shouldn’t act like that. You are inconsiderate and I’m embarrassed for you.” We were literally speechless and said “why are you so mad? You didn’t have what we wanted so we didn’t order. But you got mad so we’re trying to order something else and now you’re mad that we asked for the menu?!” He stared at us and said “leave and never come back.”

Don't give this place your business! I came in for dinner with a Korean friend and things quickly went downhill with the owner. He had been giving us weird vibes from the start, and then when my friend ordered a drink (in a perfectly normal way), he went off on a harangue about how she needed to say "please" and be more respectful and how there aren't many Koreans in Boulder etc etc. It was very clear he had a definite view of how a Korean woman should behave and felt it was his place to lecture her about it. Of course all the other tables full of white people were ordering the same way she did and didn't get any such response. We could have let it go, but then when he came back he wouldn't drop it and even tried to enlist me to his side and tell her how to behave properly. So we left and he continued to harass us all the way out the door. I should say that I usually discount reviews complaining about the service -- people can be very sensitive and staff are often just busy -- but this was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. You can see hints of this attitude in other reviews, especially when other Koreans are present. So yeah if you're white you'll probably be fine. But if you don't want to support a sexist, backwards owner, don't go to Korea House.

The food is really good. More than that the decorations are astonishing. I got the box which with variety of meat and other things. The meat was so delicious. The prices were very reasonable and they should definitely be a place to try when you visit Boulder. They have a variety of different Korean and Japanese drinks to try on. You will not regret going to this place.

They close at lunch time which is kind of unusual but I waited until 3pm which is when they open again (by the way they don't have that specified in the schedule). Also, don't forget to bring your mask, they don't care if the city of Boulder doesn't require masks indoors, I'm not criticizing, I'm just making people aware of their rules. By 3pm I was so hungry but I also wanted to try Korean food, so I went there and when I opened the door the waiter or owner (I'm not sure but looked like he was the owner), asked me right away if i wanted for there or for to go, I said that I needed to see the menu because it was my first time there before deciding, he kind of got annoyed by that and pointed me to where the menus where and told me not to get more inside. When i saw the menu i asked him if he could tell me what would be a traditional dish from Korea, he was kind of far away from me and from the kitchen he just said "what?" I repeated the question and a man already seated told me he could help me decide since he had lived in Korea for three years, I thought that was great and we were chatting for 2 minutes about the dishes when the same person from restaurant came and said: "so, for here or for to go?" I said: "I'm still deciding, he's helping me to decide", he just said, "ok then move closer to the door", I then moved closer to the door but there was a wall in between the person that was helping me and myself so I told him: "but I can't speak to the person that is helping me out now", he just said, "I don't care", so I just put the menu back and left the place, he just said something like "have a good one and good luck". I think this place needs a little bit of better customer service. Honestly, I didn't think the customer service was that bad in this place. I looked at the reviews and it seems like it was a great place, but people need to ask for better treatment, that's why people like this do what they do and keep doing it, because people seem to be ok with whatever they offer.

Food was great and the atmosphere was very personal. Lots of fun decorations. I had the spicy ramen with egg and mandoo. It was very tasty. I've been here twice now and it has been consistently high quality. The dumplings are phenomenal and the Korean beer complemented the meal well. It's a great introduction to Korean food and definitely a must if you're in the mood for something different in boulder.

short story: go here, be patient and expect a time warp and feel good about supporting an old school family run restaurant in these snooty post modern times. ambiance: kitche to the nines, enjoy that as much as possible service: old school. kind, but value driven service. one older gentleman running the whole joint by himself on a Tuesday dinner rush. the guy only gave us 2 plates of Banchan, one per entree ordered. this felt a bit cheap. he also gave us a hard time for ordering 2 entrees and a appetizers for 3 people vs 3 appetizers. i have had alot of Korean food in alot of places, this war the first time for skimping on Banchan. the guy was kind about it though. food: Quality was pretty good . serving size was reasonable, plating was classic and cute. price. pretty good value.

Consistent reviews of angry behavior continue, the behavior from the owner was unsettling. You definitely experience his anger of living in an “all white” community coming through in his business. I’m Korean, and he did not want me to speak Korean and asked me not to. He told our table “Boulder is 98% white and it’s a white people nation”. He may be of a generation where assimilating into a western culture back in 1970 was challenging and traumatic. But he missed the point. We arrived to his restaurant to share a meal that I grew up eating, to share my culture with my family and friends and he didn’t see the celebration in that. If you go to his restaurant, you may get a biased view on how other people view Korean culture, and you may see the hurt he has been experiencing, living in a predominately white community. We observed that he has taken it upon himself to hold people accountable for their assumptions about Korea and Korean people, but is unable to see and successfully serve customers that want to share the food and beautiful culture.

To be clear, the food was excellent. Though, my girlfriend and I ordered two dishes to share, but our server gave us a scold/lecture about how sharing food was contributing to racism. The atmosphere was quite uncomfortable after that. I would recommend just getting takeout from this place, foods great.

We came here for lunch and I was very impressed with the quality of service and food. You can tell the owners take pride in the good food they serve. It's hard to find good asian food in Boulder, let alone Korean food. Will absolutely be back. Such a cute little place!

Half a portion for a full size price. Total rip off. Each bowl had about three spoonfuls of rice and the soup was half filled in a small bowl. Asked for extra rice and the owner refused saying, “In the past 40 years we’ve never served extra rice” and demanded you need to order another item from the menu to get more rice. Also the owner wouldn’t leave us alone talking about controversial topics (ie race, nationalism, etc) - it was so uncomfortable. Rushed us out within 30 min of being seated with the bill.

My new favorite! This place was so so good! All the food is super fresh, made there. We had amazing service by the chef and the food…all the flavors! Absolutely delicious!! I could not believe when the bill came…a generous glass of wine, three appetizers, four meals and two desserts…barely over $100! If you want amazing flavors, super fresh homemade Korean food for an exceedingly reasonable price…this is your place for sure! Already can’t wait to go back! (And for those people worried about the portion sizes…I think they’re use to “American” portions. We all left feeling full and very satisfied.) Thank you for a wonderful dinner Korean House!

Love this place! Such authentic Korean food and prices are very reasonable. Owner is so sweet and engaging. Decor is quirky, like in your Korean grandmothers home. This place is a gem, highly recommended.

For great quick wholesome Korean food go here. Try the stone pot dishes, on a cold day or a hot day. Either way, you will walk away satisfied. Rice not mushy, full flavored broth, vegies, and a choice of meats. Korean condiments add to the taste and crunch. We like to grab a great lunch here from time to time.

Terrible experience.. would give zero stars if allowed. The owner was so incredibly rude and the whole experience was so awful. Trust the one star ratings, this place is awful. Surprised they haven't gone out of business. I ordered tea and an app while my partner got an entree. The owner wouldn't allow us to order unless I ordered an entree as well. Lectured us angrily, so much so, we looked at each other and just left.

While recently visiting Colorado - Oct 30 2023, we wanted to meet local friends to get together for dinner. They had chose the location and we all arrived at different times. We got a table and waited for the others to arrive. Every member of our table of 6 loved it. The food was fantastic, the owner was very nice and accommodated us with all of our needs. He even came out and took pictures of all of us. I will come back on my next visit !! Thanks again for a wonderful evening & great food !

I’ve been here on 2 separate occasions and both times were super pleasant! The older gentleman who took our order was kind, knowledgeable and was honest about how the food flavor changes with different ingredients. For example, I wanted to add more eggs and veggies to the Yukbaejang and he said it distorts the flavor. I prefer to have someone be honest and tell me something if it weakens the flavor of the plate. It’s also Korean dishes, which I don’t have much taste experience with, so I’m going to happily take the waiter’s advice. Our food came out quick, both times. It was approximately a 10-15 minute time lapse before we got our food. The menu is simple enough to know what you want right away. The menu items aren’t all over the place, it was simple and organized. The music and environment is very cultural and sweet. There’s ornaments, wall decor, the entrance to the restaurant has a bunch of antiques and decoration that is welcoming and catches your eye. The other reviews have said that the owner or chef or waiter don’t stop talking to you, are rude, give their biased opinions, and other related negative experiences. I feel bad for them, but that hasn’t happened to me. Neither time I went did I feel like he intruded on our time, or anything bad. The most the older gentleman talked was when he brought out the beer selections and gave us his opinion on the best one. I would come here again, they serve delicious food, music wasn’t too loud (and they played normal Korean music, not all of it was k-pop), the waiter was kind, and I want to come here again!

Full of flavor and set in a great atmosphere, Korea House is one of those places you almost want to keep to yourself. The bento boxes give you a chance to try all the different meats, and you will want to try them all. The bulgogi is outstanding and even just the chicken stood out as well cooked and flavored. You may also want to order an extra plate of dumplings.

Very good! Ordered a chicken and beef bibimbap and a beef bibimbap in hot stones and they were delicious. Came with miso soup and kimchi. The food is well presented and very tasty and the service is wonderful. It is clear this is a family sort of place, and I adore that about it. Would very much recommend the bibimbap as well as the strawberry mochi.

As a rule I never pass up a restaurant in a strip mall. Some of the most authentic foreign cuisine is often right next to a Goodwill or a pet store. Trust me. This place is a hidden gem, I'll be going back soon. Top notch!

My family’s gone here for over twenty years and the deluxe combo bento box stays at the top of our favorites in boulder! The kimchi here is delightful, and the service is amazing. We love korea house!

This is absolutely the most authentic Korean food in the boulder area. Every single dish here is so mouth watering good, and there is something for everyone. The server is a extremely nice man (dont believe the 1 star reviews) and always recognizes us when we come in! I can not recommend the veggie mandoo dumplings enough. They are my favorite dumplings of all time! You can't go wrong with anything there though.
