Ordered the “grilled cheese” and was served limp white bread with luke-warm cheese in between. Guys, it’s called GRILLED cheese for a reason. I came here when maybe 5 people were in the establishment. Really sad. Won’t be back because the grilled cheese was actually just sourdough bread slapped together and warmed in the oven. Soggy gross mess. Find your grilled cheese elsewhere. This is something that literally 5 year olds make, yet you can’t quite get this dish right? Go back to culinary school and master the grilled cheese before you work here.

I like to read the one star reviews to see what people are whining about. We had excellent staff. quick service, excellent food. It was a mad-house at lunch rush hour. Our first time, and very impressed. The whiners need to get a life.

--- Breakfast menu --- We've eaten two excellent breakfasts at Mod Market, including the Rocket sandwich, Colorado Burrito, the Brekkie Bowl, and the Super Berry Oatmeal. There were very few people in the restaurant with us at 8:30am; hopefully word gets out so they keep serving it. --- Dinner --- Our vegetarian family of four ordered a wintergreen salad, three-cheese pizza, blueberry pesto sandwich, a cup of the butternut-cashew soup, and two sodas (from the all-Boylan dispenser, nice). All items were excellent, as were the customer service, courtesy of the staff, and cleanliness.

Nice fresh options with a bent towards a health conscious crowd. Food is generally very tasty. It's very convenient and quick for lunch. Service has been good. The dining area is okay with very minimal outdoor seating. Parking inside the shopping area and prices are expected for what you get.

The food was a solid 5. The vibe and atmosphere is why I gave it a 4. I really enjoyed the quality and taste of the food. Digested really well and felt healthy and hearty. It was really loud in the kitchen for a bit like loud construction was going on or food prep of some sort that made the experience less enjoyable and made me want to put my headphones in to drown out the loud/unpleasant noises. I’ll be back since the food items are often gluten free and of higher quality than most places around the way. Staff customer service quality was alright, nothing to rant or rave about in that aspect but the food is solid! Definitely will say this is some of the best quality food around this section of Boulder!

Unfortunately our salads were comprised of rotten/frozen lettuce and fatty chicken. Not the typical quality we expect.

Absolutely obsessed with this place. I order from here all the time both pickup and delivery. It’s always consistent and delicious and I love it. It helps me stay healthy and on track when I need it and the staff is great as well! 5 stars every time!

I love the fresh veges and perfectly cooked chicken at Mod Market. We tried the 3-cheese pizza and used it as bread to dip in the farmers salad... wonderful! Next Visit- I don’t usually like Salmon, but WOW! This is really good, and the Brussels sprouts are amazing. I need to move closer to Mod Market... but it’s worth the half hour to get here👏

The general manager here needs to be fired! He is rude to customers and his employee. Thinks skimping the amount of food on dishes to a absurd degree is a good business model 🙄 (especially avocado toast products!). I am personally boycotting this location till the gm gets replaced… btw wouldn’t normally throw out a negative review, but this has been a reoccurring issue now.

The cauliflower rice is amazing, as were the roasted vegetables. But the steak couldn’t even be chewed, just tough and inedible.

New to town. Experience was poor. Tables covered with dirty dishes or not wiped down. Lettuce was wilted. Protein appeared and tasted old. Will not be back. Service not attentive.

Every time I have been to this modern market the food has been extremely delicious. However, my most recent two visits left me disappointed from the service. The cashier I could tell was new to the job since she took a very long time to ring me up for what I had ordered. I was sympathetic as I’ve been in her shoes before, but she was a little unfriendly about it, responding to my order requests with “ya” and “okay.” Didn’t really mind this, but when my food was brought out, the server also responded to me with “ya.” They got both of my sides wrong as well, but I still ate what they brought me and it was delicious regardless! I would still definitely recommend modern market for their delicious and hearty food, but there is definitely room to improve service-wise.

Food is 3-4/5 maybe, but they are rude, they don’t like anyone that doesn’t fit into the California boulderite gentrification population. If you are a courier don’t even waste your time, I’ve delivered their food for months, eaten it for 2 years. But today the expediter wouldn’t even look at me for 10 plus minutes and then got snappy and classist when I looked at the name on a bag he just placed on the pickup counter. He acted as if I was a cockroach touching his food. But the rich guy he knew?no problem cutting in front of me and snatching his bags. No customer service, no appreciation for drivers, disgusting social experience. Better than me while I’m delivering your food

I loved eating here! The blueberry pesto was very good. The lady at the register was awesome. Lemonade was very good too!

Just ordered a Buddha bowl to go my regular order which is usually delicious and plentiful. Today barely any rice, absolutely no sauce, none. Fire roasted broccoli was mixed veggies cold and burnt. Tofu was not marinated in any sauce.

Salad was supposed to have balsamic glaze on the brussel sprouts and scallion ranch dressing on the side. Neither of these were done. Instead the salad was absolutely drenched in some kind of oil (assume olive). Chicken was also dry and tough. Salad was inedible and had to be thrown away. Also ordered 2 basil chicken sandwiches which were very mid and not up to the standards we’ve come to like about Mod Market in the past. Will not be eating here again.

I only gave a one star because there was no lower option. My family ordered three salads. Tuna was not seared but raw and over salted. Salmon was over cooked and hard. In edible. Dressing was too sweet on all salads and potatoes were dried out and cold. Just a horrible meal. We left barely eating any of our entrees. We will never go again

We’ve been to Modern Market a number of times and always love it. Everything we’ve had has been fresh and flavorful. We came this time for a fundraiser night for my daughter’s gymnastics team. We ordered the Thai Coconut salad and Lemongrass Tuna bowl - both were delicious. I also had wine, which was terrible. For $3 a glass you shouldn’t expect much, but this tasted very watered down. I’ve had it before and it’s never been this bad. We also ordered the cranberry oat cookie, paid for it, and were then told they were out of them. My only option was to choose another kind. So I ended up buying a cookie I didn’t want. At least some of that money went to support the gymnastics team.

Disgusting. We tried this location almost 3 years ago and then again today. Both times were a complete disappointment and waste of money. We spent more than $100 and ended up having to cook something different. Gluten free pizzas were soggy and burnt. Steak dish was only partially cooked. Yuck. The whole two experiences were awful. Never again.

Wow, this Modern Market has really, really gone downhill post-pandemic. We've been in many times, for in-person dining, and experience has been worse than the last. The tables are messy even though there's no one there. The staff are tired and overworked (through no fault of their own). The quality of the food has just tanked. The gluten free pizza used to be one of my favorites in the world. Now, it's wet, spongy, and tastes of cardboard. This used to be our favorite spot, but I feel like they've really stopped trying to cater to the in-person dining experience. I'm so sad to lose a resturant that we really loved.

The food itself is delicious…. When they can get it right. 3 for 3 on the last 3 orders coming to me incorrect. This last one was just nonsense. Ordered a Steak bowl no cheese… got a Chicken bowl with cheese on top. How does one screw up chicken for steak? To boot, ordered a chicken bacon club with no tomato… ended up with no bacon but lots of tomato. I’m giving it 3 stars in hopes this fall from grace is temporary.

Terrible customer service, food never ready when it's supposed to be, but still pretty good food. I'll try them again in 6 months to see if it has improved, the last year has been terrible.

Went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were promptly informed by the kitchen staff that they were unable to do ANY sandwiches. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind this because there was bread visible, but okay. No sandwiches. Maybe there was no meat, or perhaps none to make the sandwiches? We order our food and they have one guy assembling the meals AND bringing it to the tables. It takes a bit of time, as you can imagine. The food itself was passable. I got a chicken bowl which was decently flavorful. My friend got a steak salad (which she hated and did not finish, I'm not sure how you can mess up steak?) and my other friend got a keto bowl, which she said was okay. The best thing we had was a curry soup, so I'd recommend that if it's still on the menu. I should also note the employee attitudes were rather poor. The cashier seemed distracted and uninterested. Indeed, he was trying to run the register and bus tables at the same time. The guy running the food might bring you a fork with your food, he might tell you to go get it yourself. If the leadership for modern market eatery reads these reviews I would suggest the following: Get out of your offices and check out what is happening in your stores. Long wait times, disengaged staff, inadequate staffing, menu item elimination are all fixable issues that contribute to customer loss. No amount of menu tinkering or promotions will fix a poor dining experience.

We placed an order for 27 the day before and when I showed up at Mod Market to pick it up, it was ready, correct, and organized! Edwin in Boulder was excellent, and made sure that we had a wonderful experience. Really fantastic experience and made our celebratory lunch a joy!

This is my favorite fast-casual chain in the area. The prices are really good for the quality of food, and I appreciate being able to order half sizes as well. The app experience is easy for pickup. The rewards program is great and easy to use. I also really appreciate bowl Tuesday for a $7 bowl of the week.
