Wonderfully warm atmosphere with owners actively involved in creating a great place for a special occasion or for warm bowl of soup on a stormy night. Great service. And the food is even better. Creative dishes with special attention to pairing, seasoning, and presentation. I cannot recommend Cafe Blue any more enthusiastically. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Hidden gem. My new go-to place. Tiny bar... All locals... Friendly staff and owners... Heavy pours... FANTASTIC FOOD. I almost want to delete this review so that no one knows about this place.

I was hyper impressed with this restaurant! Yeah, it's in a strip mall, and yeah, I was not expecting anything spectacular. We showed up for happy hour, 8 to Burgers Fries & Wings for less than $40 including the tip. And what's amazing, is that everything was awesome. The drinks were wonderful, and the service was good. It may not look like much from the outside, the trust me, this place is the real deal. Get in for happy hour if you can! And if you miss it, go anyways.

Been here twice. This is one of the nicer results in the gun barrel area (not that many options though). On both occasions we were attended to by a very polite server with an New York (I think) accent. I’m not a picky eater but the customer service was spot on.

I’ve nearly eaten the entire menu as I write this, having recently discovered this incredible gem in Boulder. I’m a recent transplant from Florida, and have been dying for good seafood. This is my favorite place in CO for seafood!!! The burger will blow you away too … everything will. Awesome local spot with hands-on owners. Love it.

We adore this spot. Kendall is the best waitress out there. The food is always amazing and she gives great suggestions for both food and drinks. Their salmon salad, wings, and California burgers are unforgettable and the French onion soup is delicious. All of the staff are great. Make a reservation just to be sure to get a spot on busy nights. Highly highly recommend and Kendall deserves at least 22% tip!

The only reason I rated this establishment so low is simply because the service was the absolute worst I have ever had in my life. Was sat without a menu for starters, which I had to wait almost 10 minutes for. Not even two minutes after I was asked for my order on a whim. Though it did not take the kitchen very long to compose my order (bravo): the tuna sandwich and Mac and cheese. Cooked to perfection. Though I wasn't given any silverware... I tried to flag down both service staff to no avail. Once I was finished with my sandwich I sat there for a good twenty minutes before my check was presented. What absolutely kills me deep inside is that it was not the least bit busy all the while the servers cuss and rant behind the bar. Paying little to no attention to their patrons.

No amazing views or anything here, but the food is fantastic! I had the blackened salmon risotto and licked the bowl clean! Absolutely delicious! If you get here early, you can get in on the happy hour specials too. I just missed out on the muscles or I would have tried those as well. I'm looking forward to coming back again to add to the review.

Great food and cocktails. Don't let the location or the ambiance fool you. The chef is punching way above his/her weight with respect to the facilities. I was just visiting Boulder when I went but I plan on v going to the restaurant on my next visit to Boulder.

We were surprised to find this neighborhood gem tucked in an off-the-beaten-path, retail building. The interior is nothing special, but the service was excellent and the food and drinks were excellent. Parking was very easy and the restaurant is accessible, however, it was busy and very loud indoors. We ate at an outside table which was comfortable. We can see why the restaurant was so crowded, and has been in the neighborhood for over a decade, the food was great.

Great place to eat. The most friendly waitstaff in Boulder. Great food. Last time I was there our server Natalie(?) apologized for the wait and I don’t know why because it came out really fast and she checked on us frequently. She’s great we always seem to get her. Food is great as well, never was disappointed with my meal and have been there many times.

Small and simple but good food prepared well. Every dish we’ve tried is good, but we love their burgers. They cook them well, they’re good sized and the fries are amazing - if you get takeout they cook your fries fresh once you arrive so you never have soggy fries. Really friendly staff and excellent service. If you’re coming on Friday night call ahead for a reservation as they fill up quickly! A local gem!

Love this place for that neighborhood/friends feel. Everyone's so nice and the food is consistently well prepared and delicious. Can't say enough good things about this cozy little cafe.

It's a wonderful surprise. Tremendous selection of entrees, soups, sandwiches, appetizers. I stopped there to get a blackened salmon burger which I couldn't find on the west side of Denver. Get there early!

First time in, I was living temporarily off of Jay rd. I wish I had known about this place sooner! Very high quality food. I would say close to fine dining. I expected a greasy spoon diner, and was blown away. I came by myself and it was the perfect solo date. I had the gnocchi short rib stroganoff and it was wonderful, especially for a cold night. Staff is friendly and personalized. They stopped by and made it a point to have a conversation with me. I am moving to Telluride, but I will try my hardest to visit again. I am sad I did not find this a lot sooner.

The risotto was excellent. I'd have preferred peas over mushrooms, but that is a personal preference. A lovely lunch!

Normally I appreciate this place but the quality of food has gone way down in the latest months. I was in there on Friday and overheard the bartender, who I think was the owner, take a phone call and ask guests at the bar who had already placed an order to leave preemptively so she could take a reservation for dinner. This is putting it very nicely, was actually said by the bartender, as to how she would rather have people eat food there is sort of confusing and short sighted, as everyone knows drinks make way more money for restaurants than entrees. Who's to say they wouldn't get an entree? *Extremely conclusionist and abrasive attitude* I noticed this group had already been asked to be reseated due to reservations, but neither the table nor the bar space had the typical triangular tags out. It's one thing to have reservations but until this place gets more organized and treats it's guests with some respect, I can't justify going back until these matters are addressed. Extremely inappropriate attitude and definitely not the environment I see myself in any further. There are plenty of other places to go spend my money, and what you did was the exact opposite of what it means to offer hospitality to people. Poor service, poor hospitality, poor organization, acceptable food, and 25% gratuity with a 30 minute wait while you learn that table after table is reserved, but, wait -- Surprise! They will wait until after you and your party have ordered drinks and learned all of the above to tell you there is no available seating and you will be *required* to leave. Unbelievable. I won't be back for fear of this happening to myself and I'm surprised the group kept themselves together. It's a shame because the burgers used to be pretty good, the hospitality was above average, and the service seemed organized, which are now a rosey-retrospective of a memory compared to my last visit. I guess if I save anyone 40 minutes of their life.... If you didn't, "call ahead" don't waste your time being a walk-in guest. They don't seem to care about our business, I guess, myself included. Not sure why it was such a hostile, unprovoked encounter, but I just will go elsewhere from now on.

Great for a Gunbarrel based restaurant. Very cozy atmosphere. Would highly suggest calling for a reservation. Place is small and good chance there won’t be room. Gnocchi is amazing, also probably the best burger in Gunbarrel.

I have had some great meals there but last one was so strange I must comment. I ordered the special last week which was a New York strip. I was served a very fat and gristly piece. The strange part was that I was given a very full knife and the steak was served in a bowl. I did not complain since my date was loving her meal, but I should have. I will try again soon but wanted to put this out there.
