By far the most uncomfortable dining experience I’ve ever had. The food was good and it’s a very unique ambiance, but the employees who work here made us feel very uncomfortable. From the start, we would not get a straight answer for what was popular or recommended, which made ordering tricky given there’s a wide variety of options on the menu. Then at the end of our meal, they gave us a religious pamphlet that talks about the cult they are all in together. It was empty for a Thursday lunch time and I question why/how they are open 24/7.

I popped in here with my girlfriend while on a day trip to Boulder. The general manager of this location is really nice. He talked with us about the restaurant’s architecture (they make a lot of things from reclaimed barn wood) and gave us two free drinks. We ended up ordering some chili, soup, and salad to have a little pre-hike snack before going up Flagstaff Mountain. The food was really good. It tasted super wholesome and fresh. The bread was great too! This place has an interesting vibe and feels like The Shire from Lord of the Rings. Great food, great staff, and they have wifi!

All time favorite cafe. Friendliest group of people working there. They are a community of people that live and work together called the twelve tribes. We were invited to their farm just 7 miles outside of Boulder for dinner and prayer and they taught us a fun dance. They are very inspiring people that live a simple life. Last week we enjoyed our 2 favorite items, the spinwich sandwich with gluten-free bread and a spelt waffle with pure maple syrup from their farm in Vermont. Many of their ingredients come from their sister communities around the world. After our meal the workers let us use their personal bikes to ride around the town and recommended us to ride the Boulder Creek Trail which was beautiful. They ride those bikes to work 7 miles everyday. Amazing people, amazing place, amazing food. Thank you to all of those at the Yellow Deli and in the Twelve Tribes community, Boulder for being so welcoming to my boyfriend Eric and I while we have been in the area, we are very grateful that places like this exist. We would recommend this place to everyone:)

I went to CU Boulder, graduated in May and moved to Denver. I try to drive down to Boulder and eat here at least once a month. I love it here for 2 reasons. #1 is obviously the food. The deli pesto is definitely one of my favorites but I also love the deluxe banana bread. #2 is the staff. Everyone is so warm and kind. I love to be around them. It was always my sister’s favorite place to eat when she visited me in college. 10/10 recommend.

Fun woodsy atmosphere! Such nice people and the food is wonderful. The pesto turkey sandwich is on point. Or the veggie burger. Also must try the matcha teas they make themselves.

Good:The food was delicious, the ambiance was like something out of The Hobbit, pretty cool. The staff was very friendly and seemed very happy. Not so Good: I had no idea about the controversy surrounding this place. According to the Denver Post, this restaurant is operated by a cult that lives in some sort of compound in Eldorado Springs. I did get a chance to talk to the waitress a bit about the history of the restaurant, she made it sound like something that was born out of the Jesus Revolution in the late ‘60’s. It appears to have a little darker side than that. No one tried to convert me, they were all very pleasant, the 3 stars is more about my suspicion. The food, location, and service was really good.🤷‍♂️

Delicious! One of the best places I've eaten in Boulder. Pros: *Very attentive service. *They offer samples of the food before you commit. *Highly recommend the Lemon Mate and the navy bean with kale soup. *Reasonably priced Cons: *It's very dark inside

The best banana bread and cheese cake ever! You should try some tea which is called Rooibos! The atmosphere was also amazing if you are a lover of tavern + wood designs! I loved talking with Ben Nabiy. He was absolutely helpful while introducing their dessert and teas! The prices weren’t bad at all. For an idea, we had a cheese cake + banana bread with fruits with a tea and a smoothie for $90. The fun fact about the store was they are all around world! Ask for locations and they will gladly show their locations! :)

Great sandwiches! Food is delicious and fresh, quality is always top-notch. They won’t have a lot of variety in soups but “soup of the day” would never go wrong. Wide variety of teas!! We visit the place quit often for quick lunch/dinner.

Best Yerba Mate in Boulder. After finding the restaurant closed on a Sunday morning, we went to visit the community and were greeted with a warm welcome, and a delicious breakfast. Very gracious hosts.

A cute little place for all your cravings. It really brings you to medieval times. I was half expecting a bard to swing by but was disappointed. It's a fun place to hang out and enjoy nice teas.

This place is amazing. It looks like it was built and designed by hobbits inside. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is hearty and good. Even though a couple of dishes came out differently than expected, they were easily correctable things I will adjust with future orders. Tried the potato cheese chowder, custom sandwich, fruit platter. I've been twice now, but totally obsessed with this place. It's so cute.

Glad we found this small quaint place on Pearl St. Delicious food and ultra filling. Good prices and adorable seating inside. Friendly staff. Can’t go wrong in my book. Menu is limited but that’s what it is- a cafe

We did not read any reviews before we decided to eat a late lunch here so we did not know what we were getting in to. We got a couple salads and a sandwich - all good! They tried to accommodate a couple requests with our orders, but it seemed like they were not used to that very often and threw them off a bit, but eventually we figured something out together. The breads were all so good (each salad came with bread as well as the bread the sandwich came with), but dense so be aware of that. Very affordable for the rest of the area around the Pearl Street Mall. We were able to be seated right away with no wait. The staff were super friendly and attentive. In fact, it felt like they had much more staff than a place of that size really needs, but it did make the service 10/10. The vibe felt like you stepped into a fantasy book or movie tavern with the painted wood decor. If you are looking for an affordable dining location different than the rest of what’s around the mall, check this place out for sure.

Love this place - have been coming here for about 10 years. Wonderful place to get late night night computer work / studying done, too. Rustic vibes but outlets at every table. Friendly staff. They’re open 24hrs except on the weekends. Good food and warm drinks!

My mother and I stopped in for dessert on a rainy Sunday evening. The decor and general vibe of this place makes you feel right at home. All the staff are beyond friendly and the prices are affordable. Worth stopping in if you're on Pearl Street.

Friendly service and really great food! I love stopping by here. I feel like I’m taking good care of myself when I eat here. Highly recommended. One note: with inflation driving up the price of food, the price of menu items was higher than the sample menus listed here. I let staff know, but be aware that when you read this they might not be updated yet. Best clue. The salads are now $9 instead of $8 that I saw.

Had a hot apple cider drink. Delicious and didn't need to leave my kidney to pay for it!! So good!! My friends also loved their specials teas and told me that food is there and is affordable (not common in Boulder) I had a very nice conversation with the owner about how they work I'll be back to try their breakfast and sandwiches

The food is really good, the people are really nice. I hear things about this place being a religious cult and it feels kind of weird knowing this and spending your money that's going towards this cult. But I don't care, I'll come back.
