Really disappointed in my meal last night. I don’t know if they’ve changed recipes, but the pizza was a far cry from what I’ve had previously at Stoneground. What was once expertly flattened and crisp dough has become glutenous and dense. The cheese was somehow flavorless. It felt thrown together. The arancini was beautiful but so bland. And the always dependable polenta tots were also so sub par. All of this even more upsetting when the check comes out to almost $100. While I can accept that I may have caught the kitchen on an off night, the service was inexcusably bad. Our waiter disappeared for the latter half of our meal. I didn’t get any refills. And after he dropped the check we waited about 20 minutes before finally finally having to settle with another employee. Also notable; another server asked if we needed assistance, when I informed her that we had been waiting for our serve and wanted to split the check she rolled her eyes and walked away from me mid sentence. Overall, I’m surprised and upset. The manager was very kind and wanted to rectify the situation. But the whole episode just left a terrible taste in my mouth.

The ambiance is beautiful during dinner up on the roof top while the sun is setting. The service and food are amazing. The pasta is fresh and homemade and there is a great wine selection too. If you’re visiting SLC, definitely come try this place!

I'm in town on business, and my colleague wanted Italian food. We went with Stoneground because of the high rating on Google. The wait for the dinning room was long (this was a Wednesday evening) so we opted for immediate seating in the bar as the menu is the same. The hostess escorted us to the table and let us know that our server would be right with us. A different person brought us water and told us that our server would be with us shortly. The hostess then sat a couple next to us. The server went directly to the couple and proceeded to explain the night's options and take their drink order. After getting their drinks, he took their order for starters, and then he took our drink orders. He brought our drinks and without taking our order decided to go talk to a couple that was seated before us. When he was finished with that conversation he then came and took our dinner order. I placed an order for bread with a different server, because he had not come to check to see if we wanted or needed anything. After a while he did come back to bring the bill. I got the lasagna, bread, and the Legal in Utah mocktail. My bill was just over $50. I will admit the food was excellent! And the atmosphere was a total vibe! The service just sucked.

What a phenomenal and cute italian restaurant! Service was exceptional and food was delicious. Recommend the meat and cheese board as well as their Black & Blue pizza!

Our experience was good, but varied in all areas so I’ll give a score breakdown out of ten. Environment/ambiance: 9 (upstairs patio was lovely but loud with surrounding noise). Service: 8 (friendly, but didn’t refill my drink). Food… Prosciutto Asparagus: 10 Bolognese: 6 Gnocchi: 7 Drinks: 9 Dessert: 9 Food was pricey for what it was. Also, bread would’ve been nice to have as an appetizer at an Italian restaurant.

The music and ambient was perfect but the food and the service really bad her name was hannah even when she knew my dessert was bad( she explained the all story) still bring it to the table and charged on the bill, the food was high on peper, the pasta was cook perfect but the flavor wasn't there is really sad is a very nice place but very bad service and if our server would have care a little bit more she wouldn't have serve that dessert and just offered something else. Not the greatest Italian place

Very good Italian! The pastas are fresh and delicious. Each dish is full of flavor and we enjoyed our meals! A tad bit on the pricey side, but the quality is very good. Great place for an event as they have an amazing patio and the indoor ambiance is beautiful. Definitely would recommend and come back! Also, the bread is soooo good!

Pizza was absolutely delicious, though a bit pricey ($17), but totally worth it. Scallops and lasagna were tasty as well. Service was a bit slow but good. The way they give leftovers home is pretty neat, in foil dish with the dish name and date written on top.

You will read another post from a customer below about no utensils. To ensure they included utensils I checked the “Need Utensils” box and included a note to the restaurant to please provide utensils. I guess they don’t read their reviews. I had to eat the salad like a caveman, which contributed to a very negative customer experience. If I had ventured out to dine in, I wonder if they provided place settings?

Very delicious We got the scallop ceviche, very refreshing. No chips and it was in a tall tower, kinda hard to eat. We got the polenta tots. No sauce to dip in. Very nice texture. The board was super delicious. We then got the bolognese. Very hearty and good flavor. The scallops were good too. You lose the sear on the sauce. We finished off with the chocolate hazelnut torte and drip coffee. Also the white sangria was crisp and refreshing. Excellent pricing

Tasty boozy drinks, dreamy pasta, and oh so romantic. I’ve been for dinner and I really do enjoy coming to Stoneground. They have marvelous service. They have a bees knees drink that is just so so tasty. I do believe they slightly change their menu for what’s in season and we love the switch up. Ambiance is moody and personal, it could be incredibly busy but we are set up to not feel it so heavily, it really is a joy!

So. Good! She had a pizza and every time I eat here and see their pizza, I wish I could make a crust as good as theirs. I had the black tagliatelle with lobster claw meat. And the warm olive appetizer. And prosecco and tiramisu and lemoncello. Every bite was a delight. The service was - as always - amazing. They even managed to seat us twenty minutes before our reservation. I really can't say enough good things about Stoneground

This is one of my favorite go-to restaurants in Salt Lake City. I am absolutely in love with the outdoor patio - misters and shades and fans. It’s gorgeous. I’ve moved through most of the menu and still come back to the fried polenta appetizer & Diablo pizza (sometimes I’ll add pepperoni!). Simply the best!

Had a mostly enjoyable experience at Stoneground. The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was delicious. My only complaint is that the service was not the best. I asked our server a few questions, all of which were answered with “I don’t know” or “I don’t think we serve that anymore.” Many members of our group wanted to order dessert, but we never received an opportunity to do so. I will return with hopes of a better customer service experience.

The atmosphere was really nice. We didn't have a reservation and had to sit outside, but they have a fire table, and it was warm and pretty. Some of us had pizzas, salads, my daughter had lasagna, and I had their today's special seafood pasta. Pizzas were okay, but the salads were too blunt. I know what I had was just a simple mixed green salad, but still missing something. My daughter said the lasagna looked nice, but was really soupy and wasn't great. My seafood pasta was... actually kind of gross. Shrimp was good, but other seafoods were really sad looking. The sauce was too rich, but still didn't have a good flavor. I'm not a professional chef, but I think I can cook a lot better than that.

Apart from the slow service, everything else was absolutely outstanding! The ambiance doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is beautiful and welcoming. The food was delicious and they have a great wine selection. I'll definitely be back!

Went to Stoneground Italian Kitchen for a business dinner. The service was fantastic. Loved the location. The bread and polenta appetizers were outstanding. I ordered the seafood pasta that was a special. Had wonderful whole clams. The seafood was delicious. I thought the server said it was a white sauce, but it wasn't the type of sauce I expected. I'd definitely recommend this as an excellent Italian restaurant.

From scratch pasta and pizza! Charming and popular Italian restaurant where you won't be disappointed. I personally love getting a couple pizzas, entrees, and appetizers and share them all. The lobster tagliatelle is savory, creamy with mushrooms, an absolute favorite. The lasagna was extremely flavorful and a large portion. The pizza crust is perfect consistency. The chocolate hazelnut torte is a large slice and the texture is creamy with a little crunch. As the restaurant fills up, it gets pretty loud. Overall a lovely dining experience!

Were it not for the slower service, I would give them a solid five stars. The service was excellent however, but our meal lasted nearly two hours. Take your time and enjoy. Good wine recommendations and a taste to try it! Excellent appetizers and solid entree choices. We will definitely be back and enjoyed the ambiance outside as well as the food and wine.

Really shameful marketing. The picture on the left is what they market on instagram. On the right is what I received (on the same day they posted their picture). The pizza was fine, but nothing compared to what I was expecting and certainly not worth $22+. Do yourself a favor and go to Settebello instead. Their pizza is cheaper, tastier, and more authentic.

So delicious and great atmosphere. My husband and I have been enjoying Stonground for years. Somehow it only gets better. The lasagna and ravioli are some of our favorites. Fresh, cheesey and full of flavor.

Loved the ambience here. It is sooo romantic and dim lighting, it was very festive when I went, they have big clear windows you can see the street (that's if your lucky to get seated there) :) The food it self was good, although the 'special' which was the salmon was just okay. The ravioli was amazing. Overall it was a pleasant place for dinner.

Wow! We chose Stoneground for an anniversary dinner. The service was fantastic and the food was on-point. I highly recommend the scallops, which were perfectly done or the lasagna. My daughter loved the pizza, too. Appetizers were also very tasty, as was the wine. We will definitely return and sit on the beautiful patio next time!

An essential dinning experience in SLC! The food is amazing and staff was nice. To start: The atmosphere is awesome! Low lighting was nice for my 6:00 dinner. Pretty tables and cool interior. The food was amazing! The Focaccino is a MUST! Delicious appetizer. I got the Agnolotti, which was amazing. Wonderfully crafted, perfect portion size. Paired perfectly with a glass of wine. My friends got the Lasagna and Bolognese - both were delicious and unique in flavor. I highly recommend this establishment and will be coming back for sure! Seems to be the perfect spot for a sunset date night!
