I have ALWAYS LOVED GENES!!! My favorite item from there is the the' Twister' sandwich. I have been eating there for at least the last 30 years and have NEVER, EVER been disappointed!!! I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone! I have been taking my kids there since my oldest was only a few months old and he's 22 now. All three of my kids have very different eating habits and they can all always find something on the menu that they LOVE!!!

I tried this restaurant out with a friend and it was awesome. Gene really knows how to cook. The hamburger sub was delicious. The onion rings were the best ever made. Gene is a very special soul. Eating with Gene was like having dinner at Grandpa's house. I would strongly recommend this place. We're running out of special places like this. I am definitely coming back.

Fantastic food, great prices, but there are two downsides it is cash only, and can be inconsistent with estimates for takeout.

Warm friendly atmosphere as usual. Delicious home cooked food. It smelled so good when I walked in I couldn't make up my mind. I had to ask what the wonder smell was as it was the owner was roasting chickens for the next days specials. The name says it all. All my life the owner has always been there, greets everyone like family. I'd recommend for a quick bite or a full course meal with NY strip steak, made to order. I suggest adding the mushrooms so full of flavor! If you want something you don't see on the menu ask. My kids like chicken tenders so he customizes the chicken filet sandwich and even slices it up for them b4 serving. Much healthier than chicken nuggets at a fast restaurant. I've ate twister since I was a child, one of my favorites. More importantly it's apart of the town's history as well as my own. It's one of the 2 original self owned business left. Hard work and dedication to his customers! The kids love it when I ask if the want to go to Genes, they know it's one of the few restaurants I will eat in plus they get real herseys ice cream for dessert! Thank you Gene for allowing my kids to experience what I did as a child!!!

Excellent restaurant. From the outside it may not seem like much but this place has excellent food with a good variety to choose from. I enjoy getting a burger with fries here. The burgers are some of the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend

Best butter pecan ice cream around. Very friendly staff. Reasonably priced.

Gene's family restaurant is a good place to eat with family or by your self delicious home cooked meals Gene will customise anything for free or low prices you have a great view of the highway great desert and service

The owner has reopened the restaurant, the owner had accident a few months ago but is now back open for business.

Waitress was wiping her nose while serving our food. Wasn't very clean. Food wasn't very good. Do not recommend

My wife, daughter, and I stopped here for a quick lunch. The burgers were crisp and tasty, but not dry or overly greasy. Cheap prices too. Gene was super friendly. My family is scattered around the area, but we are from Connecticut. I'm sure 99% of his customers are locals, so this review is a reminder to them to pay Gene a visit for some good food, and for those passing through that are searching "food near me" to stop there for some good affordable things to eat. 😀

The best cheeseburger I've ever eaten. Only down side is they close at 3 pm, not serving evening meals.

Some guy brought a giant knife in the restaurant??? Everything was dirty. The “cook” licked the spoon he used in my milkshake. I ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich, I got fried veil with a mystery sauce. My sister got a salad and the dressing was expired, it had unidentifiable ingredients, and was over priced. Would never recommend to anyone
