I came 4111mi, all the way from the UK for lunch and it is the most memorable meal I've ever had. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much whilst I also had tears in my eyes. The cheeseburger was incredible served 'all the way'. The cornbread was crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. The sweet tea was indeed sweet but very refreshing. The sides I enjoyed were turnip greens and the black eyes beans. The coleslaw was absolutely the best and I like coleslaw. There is no pretentiousness, there is no unnecessary flair, just good, honest food that supports people from all walks of life. The decor tells the 100+ year old history of the place and the people I met there were so welcoming I was overwhelmed, especially compared to the fairly reserved dining experiences on offer here in the UK. Should you go? Yes. Is it worth an 8222mi round trip? Definitely. If you live closer than I do, try and make it a regular hang-out. It is run by amazing local people who deserve any support you can offer. Best meal I ever had.

Okay so this might be the oldest restaurant in Chattanooga. (Opened in 1918- still in the original building) This place is oozing with character and charm. Lots of old photos and interesting signage, super friendly service and the food was great. Had the cheeseburger and fries, fresh ingredients and tasted great. You need to try this place!

So glad we FINALLY made it to Zazours. Old time ‘ family - vibe ‘ , good ole country cookin’ and a terrific burger. Home made banana pudding hit the spot for dessert too ! It’s only open for lunch - and popular with locals for sure. You should try it ; We’ll be back.

Ate lunch here on 5/6/2022. Delicious southern food. The hamburger and the vegetables were all very good.

We had made plans to eat here based on reviews, but would never have stopped in based on appearances. It's a very humble, dated-looking building, but when you step inside, you can feel the warmth and hospitality. The staff really do treat you like family they have been looking forward to seeing. My wife and I talked about how the food on the menu is something most people have forgotten how to make, or at least make right. We both ordered country fried steak, but also a cucumber and tomato salad, turnip greens, and peach cobbler with ice cream. Everything was more delicious than I could describe. It is home cooking that takes you back in time. Somehow I was unaware that they do not accept plastic; it's cash and checks only. Because of an unfortunate incident the day before, we had no checks or cash on us, but the owner volunteered to take us on her golf cart to an ATM. It wasn't because she wanted her money, it was because she was willing to go out of her way to be hospitable. I have given many restaurants five stars, but this experience truly deserves more stars. This was a memorable experience. If I return to Chattanooga, this would be one of my first stops.

A gem of a find. Open for lunch on weekdays but worth the drive any day.

My son said it was one of the best burgers he has ever had! The atmosphere was so fun and I loved the pink tile in the bathroom! What a preserved treasure of a diner!

Truly a gem, good food, real southern hospitality! This restaurant is a piece of Original Chattanooga history and culture. Established in 1918! Come check see what Chattanooga used to be before all the outside investors ruin the originality of REAL Chattanooga.

What a neat place! We walked in and were warmly greeted by the cook and waitress, who helped us find a table and helped us with the menu, including a free sample when we were unsure of some of the sides. The food was delicious!! The atmosphere is warm and casual. Be warned they only accept cash, though they'll drive you to an ATM in their golf cart if needed!

Myself and some other coworkers come here pretty frequently to get to go plates for lunch. Come in and order so we can set for a min. Food comes fast. Normally waited on by Tabitha, she's very attentive and friendly. Service is awesome. Banana pudding! Everything is great. Highly recommend.

This is one of the view greatest, neatest, locally owned places in downtown Chattanooga that's a must to visit. If you're looking for a unique, quaint locally owned place with an awesome atmosphere, cool decor, great service and the best food ever - you MUST visit here. All the food is fantastic but I'd recommend the King Baked Chicken! It's not served all the time, but when it's on the menu it's a MUST also.

This is a hole in the wall family owned local place that's been around forever. Very limited and focused menu based on burgers and lunch. Burgers were very good and fresh. Fries were typical frozen crinkle fries. Slaw was really good. Service was fast, friendly and overall spectacular with the waitress checking back often and the owner as well. This place is old but surprisingly clean... even the pink 1960s bathroom! Super cool place to go for lunch if you are in the area! Beware - they close early at 2pm.

Great place that most can and do drive by. This is such a cool small place that I was amazed how good the burger was. Everything came out fast and hot. Service was on point and you could tell they cared about the business. If you are not from the area it can seem a bit of concern but it's safe. Find some parking behind the restaurant or on the road most days. But cash only so make sure you have some on you. ATM is a bit of a drive I'm told.

I had my choice of places I wanted to eat in Chattanooga, and my pick was Zarzour's! Hands down the best meat and three in this city. The food is a gentle reminder of the food I grew up eating. If you haven't had the experience of Zarzour"s you really should.

Great food, friendly service, amazing value: Zarzour's is a Chattanooga institution. The walls are covered with a panorama of local history. I had the grilled pork tenderloin with white beans, Cole slaw, and fresh corn bread. I'm stuffed, but the takeout cheeseburger makes me wish I could eat more.

A beautiful hidden gym in Chattanooga that has been around for several decades but you better get in there early for lunch otherwise they're famous chicken and dumplings will be gone.

After living in Chattanooga for three years I finally tried this place. I had a burger. It was average, which is not a bad thing. The service was good the staff was nice. The restaurant is very dirty. The table was very sticky.

Found this place through word of mouth or would have totally missed it! Some people say "home cooking" and some people have it. Zarzour's has it! You'll not be disappointed!

Had one of best burgers in Tennessee. Juicy delicious and filling. They are cash and check only. No debit or credit cards don't let that detour you. You stay in business in the same location for 100 years because your food is just that darn good.

One of the oldest, if not the oldest restaurant in Chattanooga. This charming diner has hardly changed in appearance in many, many, decades. Generations of family have owned, managed, and cooked the familiar, delicious southern style food. The burgers are the BEST around. Dixie's ice cream and Shannon's handed down recipe for banana pudding are to die for. This small and super friendly, daytime only (no suppers here) diner is a must to visit when in Chattanooga.

My husband and I were passing through from Myrtle beach and decided to stop here to eat. We enjoy stopping at unique small mom & pop places. The atmosphere was great very welcoming environment. The owners we very attentive and made us feel at home. We love story’s and they told us the story of how and when the business started. We ordered burgers and fries to go. They insisted for us to sit down while they were preparing our food, and Chitchatted with us as we waited. Highly recommend this place. The burgers and fries were very good they made sure we had extra napkins to go and ketchup in packages . Great place! Thank you guys. We will be back.

Yes, you read right. This restaurant has been in business for over 100 years.... recently rated as the best burger in Tennessee, nothing fancy at all....you may hear a little bantering back & forth between management & customers but it's all "love bantering". great vegetables & the best damn burger in town for sure. You may see movers & shakers of Chattanooga or your average Joes..... everyone loves Zarzour's.
