We found this place by chance. The gas station we stopped at had nothing fresh in it for breakfast and I was wanting some pastries or doughnuts. We found that the Whistle Stop was 15 minutes away and on our way back home to Indiana. I am so glad we stopped in. Even if we did pull in the exit of the drive through. After backing out and finding a place to park in the lot next door we went in to be hit in the face with the smell.of fresh doughnuts. This is unlike any other doughnut shop I have ever been in. It is really geared towards drive through customers. All the doughnuts are displayed along windows where people.can look at them from their cars or trucks. We ordered a dozen doughnut holes and a dozen assorted doughnuts. First the doughnut holes are amazing. They are light and fluffy yeast doughnut holes with just the right amount of glaze. Quite possibly the best yeast doughnut holes I have had. The other item that stood out was the apple fritter. These are much different then what I am accustomed to finding in North Central Indiana. More sweet the cinnamony. Light and fluffy. This rates second as my all time favorite apple fritter.

BEST donuts ever!!!! If your anywhere near this tiny donut heaven go!! Actually it's worth a drive too! Great service and the fluffy, perfectly iced rings of donut goodness will make your day!!!

The donuts have a great taste, they are light and flavourful not heavy and greasy. Of all the donuts I've had I would say these are 2nd only to Long's Bakery in Indianapolis and that is one hell of a compliment seeing how they're in the top donut shops in the entire country.

The staff was very friendly and all of the donuts are made fresh! I'd have to say these are better than VooDoo Donuts at Universal Studios Orlando FL!!

Donuts were pillowy soft and fresh. There is a wide variety of donuts, but the majority look to be plain glazed donuts with different toppings. The blueberry cake donuts were gone, and I was there a little after 9 on a Sat. Better go early if that's what you want, bc most of the trays I could see were still at least half full. Went on a Sun at 9 and there were no cake donuts at all, but she did say they wouldnt have any until Tues so I'm guessing they may have had a supply issue. I would say whether or not you like the donuts will depend on your taste. The donut holes were good. The first time I went the cream filled Long John left me wondering if they were trying to save $ on cream, but other than that it was a decent donut. The next time I went one of the cream filled long johns was nearly bursting with cream (yum!) on either end, but the middle didnt have any. The second had an average amount all the way through. SO, I would speculate that depends on things like how busy they are, who does the filling, etc. Not a fan of the apple fritter or the cinnamon/sugar holes. The strawberry jelly filled with powdered sugar I would not get again. It (the "jelly," specifically) was kind of terrible. *Might* have been salvageable if the donut had been glazed. Nor would I get a plain cake with chocolate icing again. I went on a Friday at lunch. They were out of cream filled Long Johns, but she made me 2 (that bumped them up to 5 star!). Was finally able to get a blueberry cake. It was pretty good, would have been better if it was glazed. Take cash, there's a 4% charge for using a card. Make sure it's no larger than $20 increments bc there's a sign on the door that says they accept nothing larger. Just go through the drive through. They act like it annoys them if you go in. With the display set up in the windows, it looks like you can see more from the drive through anyway. I did go through the drive through the second time, and the lady was very nice. Fair warning, it is a pretty tight space. They were busy both on the Sat and Sun i went, but much more so on Sun.

Picked up a dozen on our way home to Dawson Springs KY. These were some of the best donuts I have had. Very friendly work staff at the window. Keep up the good work people.

Stopped by town because my friend loves the Hopkinsville Goblin cryptid and I'm so glad we did, the blueberry donut was one of the best I've ever had, and it was less than $8 for two donuts and a half-dozen donut holes! I wish I lived closer, but I'll definitely stop by every time I go to Nashville!

Be nice if they actually opened when advertised. I needed 4 dozens donuts and arrived at 515Am. Waited until 546AM and they STILL had not opened the doors even though there were 4 people inside working. I ended up LATE for work WITHOUT the donuts I was supposed to bring.

The cashier was nice and helpful. The donuts were good and Fresh.I wea surprise with the amount of donuts they had to choose from. It’s was about 2:20 pm and we’re able to get a dozen.

Very good donuts, was seriously impressed. The maple and coconut ones were amazing. Kind of a weird set up inside, they need to add a list of all donuts or something since they moved all of them away from the main entrance so they are hard to see at all. Will be back though! Very good.

Drove from Nashville and it was so worth it. I had there donuts before at a couple different gas stations so I knew I liked them. The donuts where even better there the ladies were super friendly so I highly recommend them.

Visiting from WA State, this is the second time we've stopped here(first time was in April) and this is what I've learned - Don't go after 1:00 as the supplies are significantly diminished. Also, if you want to be able to see what they have, you'll need to go through the drive-thru, no display case for walk-in customers which means you have to ask them to tell you what they have.

Guys at work bring them in all the time, took my wife today and they gave her some to taste test to see if she liked them. The nice lady at the counter was super helpful.

$5+ dollars for 6 donuts, had really hoped they werent totally saturated with glaze. Got home and the glaze was all over the bottom and caked around them. Couldnt even wipe it off and they were so sweet I gagged. Why do donut shops drown their delicious donuts with so much sugar? Guess Ill stick with Krispy Kreme.

I love the donuts but they run out to early in the day I don't know when they changed the way they made their apple fritters but I really prefer the way they used to make them

I believe that their chocolate donuts actually all of them but chocolate ones are my favorite are the best donuts in the world now I know that's my opinion. But I don't get greasy on the top of your mouth. There's so very sweet soft it's a little piece of heaven, and it makes me go off my diet from time to time. And today was the day I went off my diet again thank you so much for these very very good donuts.

Very popular donuts in this area. I find the donuts a bit too thick instead of soft on the inside. They'll do in a pinch. I'd like to update this review so say i actually giggled after my first bite of banana soft serve ice cream! Yum!
