It's a hidden tourist spot so close to Bangalore. Not many would be aware of this place. It has its own pros and cons. Pros, u have less crowds and less litter and u can enjoy the place for yourself on weekdays. The environment is calm and relaxing. The view from the top is amazing. Cons, less tourists means less facilities like toilets, water, food. You don't have any vendors selling water, food or no available toilets. So make sure you carry enough water for the climb. And the climb looks easier than it is. The climb is steep. It's not dangerous in any way but the stairs are steeper to climb and it's easy to get tired in a few steps. Please carry water, food with you that ll make the difference. The place can get very hot so try to plan on a cloudy day. Overall an excellent day ride from Bangalore. Please do not litter if you visit. Carry your own trash back.

Nice place for those who are interested in forts and historical structures. On the way you will get a big lake with water overflowing over the road. Nice to see the sunset from this location. Parking Available Carry food and enough water. And better to start early to avoid heat of the sun while treaking to the fort

I recently visited this amazing historical treasure near Bangalore. It's a ruined fort that requires a trek of around 500 steps. At the top, you'll find Shiva temple and the remnants of the old fort. The view from there is simply breathtaking, offering a panoramic sight of the entire town. Going in the morning is the best time to fully enjoy the beauty of this place. If you're a first-time trekker, this is the perfect starting point. It's not too challenging to climb, and the reward at the top is truly worth it. The best part is that not many people visit this place, so it's peaceful and serene. There are no food or drink stalls at the top, so it's advisable to carry a bottle of water with you.

A nice place with a relatively easy trek to the top. Can be easily done with kids. I liked the ruins of the fort that you cross while getting to the top. There are a lot of steps though, so plan accordingly. Carry water and snacks or refreshments along since there’s nothing here. It’s fairly quiet unless some locals are visiting the temple at the top. If close to the temple please dress conservatively to respect local customs n such. Entry is free. Carry a camera to take pictures. Monsoon was a great time to be here. You may choose to go there on a cloudy day too πŸ˜‰

Nice place to visit for 1 day vacation and 1 hour hiking point . Sunrise and sunset will be awesome. Best place to get photography , Carry food and water bottles coz there are no shops in up and you will not get hygienic or ant foods available until you cross the village. Also please be safe with locals especially who go only couples, going with team is honest recommended as well as keep the place clean.

Great trek for beginners. Steps majority of the places. Some narrow pathways. Good view from the top - beautiful for sunrise as well as sunset. Parking at the foothill. Monkeys around - don’t carry food. There are plenty of breakfast or snacks options if you hit main Bangalore - Hyderabad highway.

Parking is beside the temple. It's safe. Earlier the better to avoid crowd. All vehicles are parked on the road on both sides, there isn't any parking fee. Small hotels for breakfast and other shops are all open. People are quite friendly and helpful in nature.

Nice place for a day trip from Bangalore. Initial steps are little tiring but the second half of the trek is good. View from top of the fort is awesome. As default for any trekking, start early and try to return before 11AM. If it becomes sunny, it will be tiring. Carry little water and snacks. Beware of monkeys. The temple on the top of the fort was closed (probably due to Covid). We went on a Saturday morning and there was not much crowd. Yes, do take care of the place by not littering with your trash. Carry back your trash with you in return.

Great place for trekking and long drive or short ride (whichever you prefer) from Bengaluru. There is no one to charge you for anything, except for a few young kids, they ask for money to look after you vehicle and sell tidbits. There is no ticket counter or entrance fee. Just park your ride and start climbing. There are around 300 ~ 200 steps initially, after that its all bushes and mountain pathways. Look out for branches, shrubbery and small insects, wear covered clothes while hiking and good trekking/hiking shoes which do not slip. There are nice old ladies, who offer guidance on the path, you can donate some money to help them with their daily needs in return for the assistance they provide.

Good way to spend couple of hours over here.. not too many steps to climb and just about the right distance from Bangalore too. Okay as clean - but don’t expect any sort of facility. Best to visit either early morning or evening. And with clear skies. Not hard to find - map is quite accurate and overall the roads to this place is quite nice as well. Just before the fort is a beautiful lake .. good idea to spend some time there too.

Small trek(approx 1 km) you can enjoy the views of mountains above and Karnataka flag at peak was good. There is a temple at top and was closed when I visited. Good if you trek early in the morning. Beware of some spots as there are not steps you climb little rocks and even while descending.

Beautiful place! There's a lake and a fort here. The trek to the top of the fort is of beginners difficulty. The view at the top is very beautiful. The fort itself is also beautiful to look at. Lot of spots to sit on the rocks and enjoy different views of the town below.

If you plan for a one day vacation from Bangalore you can choose this place. It’s a ruined fort , you have to trek around more than 500 steps, but it was easy. There is a shiva temple and ruins of old fort in the top. You can see a panoramic view of the town. Best time to go in the morning. There were 9 rainwater harvesting ponds in the fort and secret paths also there. If you love adventure try to find the secret paths and enjoy.

Good destination for a weekend getaway. The place is 100km from Bangalore and the roads are just too good. There is a moderate trek involved, but nothing too challenging. Don't go there expecting to see some magnificent stately fort. But the view from the top is pure bliss. The place was pretty isolated when we went, with hardly 3-4 people at the top; hence I would not recommend going solo, better to go in a group. A definite recommendation.

Gudibande Fort trek offers a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. Nestled amid rocky hills and lush greenery, the trek provides a scenic escape for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The ascent is moderately challenging, rewarding trekkers with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The ancient fort, with its crumbling walls and mysterious aura, transports visitors back in time. The journey to the top is adorned with picturesque flora and fauna, creating a serene atmosphere. However, the lack of proper amenities and signage might pose a challenge for beginners. Overall, Gudibande Fort trek is a delightful experience for those seeking adventure amidst historical charm and breathtaking vistas.

Good trekking experience especially for newbies to trekking. It is tougher than what people say and has close to 1000 steps. Also, the entire way is not just steps. No ticket required. Definitely carry water and some food. No food available nearby so bring on your own. Good place to watch sunrise or sunsets. We covered Adiyogi sound and light show after this so that is also possible. Read the history of the place a bit before going to give justice to your experience. There are monkeys at the absolute top so be careful, but no need to worry.

It's an amazing place to go to for a one day getaway from the city. The trek to the top consists mostly of stairs and stepping stones which is not that difficult to climb if you're used to trekking. It's definitely a great start for beginners who want to start trekking. It is worth the effort, since the view is truly beautiful 😍

There is a parking space available at the foot of the hill. Moat of the stretch There are proper stairs that go up to the fort with a few patches where the stairs are not proper or missing. Good place to have long drive from Bangalore. You can see it like a half day or so picnic

It's 90kms away from Bangalore. You get to witness a beautiful lake on the way to the fort. Have to climb steps of 100 or more to reach the top. It's has amazing view of the whole landscape. Perfect trekking during weekdays as it won't be crowded.

This is a good place, nowadays on weekends you can expect crowd here, there's no shops or toilet near to this hill except that views are superb. It's windy on the top, I visited in noon but didn't feel hot. Free parking available at the foot. Also to Non-vegetarians visiting here, get fish from nearby lake side, lake is too clean and fish tastes too good, don't miss it.

I would say more than the fort, the journey to the fort is the main highlight. The roads are good and especially nice if you want a bike ride. The highway followed by the almost isolated(but we'll build road) can make an enjoyable ride. The climb to the top of the fort is not difficult. So perfect incase you wonder you would be able to climb after a bike ride. Can go here as family as well. There is no shops nearby, so carry a good amount of water bottle

It's a short but great trek up to the fort. Will take about 35 to 40 mins if you don't wanna stop to appreciate the rockscape, bits of ruins of a great era gone by & interesting views of the surrounding region as one ascends. Views from the top are wonderful. It was cloudy & windy when I went, so it was a perfect day to laze on the smooth rocks at the summit with the wind cooling one off. It's easily doable in half a day from Bengaluru city. Please remember to bring back any trash, especially plastic with you & not ruin this site.

Short but extremely satisfying trek to the top of the fort. The drive from home took about 2 hours. The view from the top is breathtaking and with the sun popping up every now and then, we got some great pics. Saw a few monkeys and goats around the top. The temple at the top was closed. Since we went on a weekday there was hardly anyone about the place. Overall a good drive and a great place to enjoy yourselves.

Good place for kids . A small hiking place. Some people brings their dogs πŸ• also. No designated parking place is there. But may park at the entrance where it is possible to accommodate 7-10 cars πŸš—. Designated path is forged to the peak point or Fort. Steps are there for some extend. Ruins of Fort is not very majestic but it's a good site to watch once. It is very good for sunset and sun rise view A guard is there at the entrance to take names and time. Last entry may be restricted to 4 PM or 4.15 PM since hikers should reach back by 5 PMThere is no entrance fee as of October 2021. I suggest morning time so that u can watch sunrise. And it will be less hot πŸ₯΅ than noon. There is not urinals on the site or at entrance. There maybe some children at the bottom asking biscuits and money πŸ’°. I don't want to comment on how I feel about it πŸ˜…. Good feelπŸ‘.

Splendid view !! Easily accessible by road , around 100 KMs away from Bengaluru and perfect place for one day ride or outing with friends and family. Hiking distance is around 3KMs including both ways - Up and Down, and requires around 1.5-2 hrs. On top you will get beautiful view of gudibande town, near by hills range and lake, Fort is not great shape however you would see some towers and building still standing still even after centuries of negligence. Notes: 1. Only one small shop serves limited snacks and soda, and tender coconut vendor is there at foot hills, So Pack your food and drinks. 2. Enough parking space and no other basic amenities like - Rest rooms, drinking water, shelter etc. 3. Small someshwara temple is located also located at top but opened only on Monday's. 4. Beautiful KR pura camping site is near by around 5KMs 5. Do not litter be a sensible visitor !!

One of the best places for a 1 day ride from Bangalore. The trek is moderate around 3 KMs. Good for beginners. The view from the top is breathtaking. I just loved it!! Ample parking space for car and bike - Free parking and no entry fee. There are 2 stalls at the entrance- Tender coconut and lime juice/ water and chats. Did not find a good hotel nearby except the street vendors. Altogether a good experience!!

Fabulous old fort. Great views all round. There are proper steps for the most part - concrete or stone. It is a moderate climb and even people without much experience can easily get to the top. There's a temple on top which was closed, but one goes for the climb and the views. You won't find anything to drink or eat on top and hence you would be advised to carry file water along. Overall 500 ft altitude difference and approx 2km overall distance.

Moderate trek for 30-40mins to reach the top. The way to the top has steps made of cut rocks, not steep. It has a temple at the top and offers amazing view with very strong winds. There is free parking space at the foothill. You can spot variety of lizards and birds on the way and plenty of view points. PS: please dont leave your waste/plastic bottles on the way or on the top

  • 5/5 Jeetu T. 10 months ago on Google
This is a nice place, please try to reach there in early in the morning. Views are nice from there. Stairs Trekking is there. Restaurant and washroom facility is not there, so for kids and ladies some problem is there. If you want, you can carry your food and drinks.

This place is literally worth going. Well it will be hard to go to the top but after going, the feeling will be worth. The fast breeze at the top is very much relaxing. The area is very much clean but as always the visitors has thrown the wastes like plastic bottles here and there. Rest the place is worthy to spent some 4 5 hours also.

It has 500 stairs, the place is not guarded and visits are unregulated till July 2021. Do carry water bottles and please avoid feeding wild animals. The view from top is quite rewarding in case of heavy rains it may become slippery so take care
