We had a great eating experience at Donovan's. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly and the wait staff was very helpful and courteous. We were a family of four so we ordered the half chicken, the ribeye, a New York strip, and a few sides. All the food was cooked quite well and everything came out promptly. I can tell you my experience with the New York strip where they cooked it perfectly to my specifications, however, the flavor was a little lacking. Outside of that everything was amazing. Amazing! The atmosphere was great, I would definitely recommend trying this place out. The prices for a steakhouse were very good, especially for the size of the cuts of meat that you get. Most mid to high-end steakhouses will charge you a lot of money for a smaller cut. However, I feel like this is one of the best values you can get at a steakhouse in Tampa.

Had a fabulous dinner. Great food and service. We'll be back! We had corn fritters, char grilled oysters, bourbon salmon, smoked chicken, shrimp, baby bellas, Mac and cheese, bone in ribey, Wagyu steak, baked potato, sweet potato and carrot cake. The steak was the absolute best!! Update went back October 2022 and another update for July 2023 and our experience was still top notch! The service and food was still superb! Keep it up Donovan's

The steak was awesome. The sweet potato ravioli were delicious, I could taste the spice which was nice though I could go for a little bit of salt opposite, like a slice of something you can add to it to bring together that sweet and salty. Mushrooms were flavorful. Charcuterie had a peach habanero to die for. They need to sell a jar of this ;)

This is one of our "go to" local restaurants in the area. The food is great, staff is friendly, and seating is never an issue. It sits in a quaint area of town that has other local shops and businesses. There is always some new type of game meat if you're interested in that sort of thing. On our recent stop there was Kangaroo on the menu. They have a reasonably priced happy hour menu with great food as well. The Tomahawk is one of our favorites when we have the appetite.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere (except something was leaking from the roof) the service was good. The food was incredible! The menu had so many options that I really want to go back and try. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Donovan’s was amazing. The service was excellent & our server Jason did a fantastic job! My husband & I ordered the cast iron chopped steak & the pork chops with the berry compote. The food was really delicious. The restaurant’s ambience was beautiful & relaxing. All in all, great food but even better service. We celebrated our 15 yr. marriage anniversary here & it was a good choice.

Great place for their new Sunday brunch. Interesting menu selection for brunch. The shrimp and grits dish, just amazing. I enjoyed sitting in the outside space. Has such a nice ambiance.

As first-time patrons, we relied on our waitress, whose knowledge of the menu was impeccable. His thoughtful recommendations guided us through our meal choices, and we couldn't have been happier with her guidance. We decided to try the Donovan House steak and the potatoes au gratin. Both dishes were nothing short of perfection. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a flavorful sear on the outside and a tender, juicy interior. The potatoes au gratin were a delightful accompaniment, offering a creamy, cheesy goodness that complemented the steak impeccably.The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of our meal was truly outstanding. Excellent food! Excellent service, only did 4 stars for atmosphere due to the air conditioning being out when it's ten thousand degrees out and eating dinner over steaming hot food and sweating isn't that great of an experience BUT the amazing food made up for it and so did Anthony are humorous and attentive server!

The entrance of this restaurant wasn't clearly defined. Not only for myself but for another couple also happened to arrive at the same time. Once you walked in, it felt like it was the inside of the bar, and you had to side step, so it was odd. Once we sat down and looked at the menu, we had some questions. Ordered the crab dip appetizer. And our entries. I didn't like they didn't have any non alcohol beverage and I had to ask if they made mocktails. To which they do. So we're not just having water. Overall, it was a cute location and good food.

Another great experience at Donavan’s. Always a treat for us but Jason spoiled us today. Great service. Great cocktails. Great food. Potato crusted oysters - OMG and I don’t eat oysters. Shrimp and grits - the shrimp was cooked perfectly on a bed of grits/gravy. Bison Ribeye - very flavorful Lobster Mac n Cheese - always to die for Grilled Asparagus - grilled perfectly

The food was very good. I got the lamb chops with mashed potatoes. I also got prime rib flatbread and lobster escargot for appetizers. I got the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The dessert was amazing. The staff was very nice and professional. It was overall great customer service.

The food was delicious. I wasn’t sure about the Mac and Cheese but it was delicious and a must try. Those had to have been some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in my life. The chopped steak was great as well and paired perfectly with the dish. I was not a fan of the creamed spinach. I think it had too much on top for my liking. Our server who was also the bartender was absolutely amazing! I was very shocked to see all of the servers running both sides of the restaurant and outside. I thought it would have been better if they had sections. Even though the bartender had 4 tables plus the whole bar, he handled it with perfection! I wasn’t sure how the experience was going to be since the host told us it was a 30 minute wait so that the kitchen could catch up but I’m glad we stayed. You could definitely tell they were short staffed but the bartender, Jason, was fantastic. Definitely try them out.

I had a great Birthday dinner here! We had reservations for 5pm. On the reservation, it says to let them know if it's a special occasion upon arrival (not knowing if they give you a free dessert to celebrate). You definitely want to do this. Service was great from the beginning. They were able to accommodate a request for a table by the window. It was Sunday, so it wasn't much of a problem. There were a few other groups of people already seated. It got busier as we were leaving. Our waitress told us they were out of wild game and the fresh catch. No problem. We were there for the steak. We started our meal with the Cheesy Corn Fritters. They were good, but I didn't really taste any cheese. Maybe they should just call them corn fritters. The Prime New York Strip came out with the side dishes. We chose the Wedge Salad and the Cauliflower Alfredo. The sides are perfect for 2 people. The steaks were both undercooked to the point of being rare. I'm guessing this happens often as they ask you to cut into the steak to make sure it's the right temperature. My husband sent his back because it was too rare for him. He ordered medium. I didn't send mine back. Because Karen's are supposed to do that 🙄 , but I'm just a Karen by name (and I love my name). Besides, I'm okay with it being rare versus medium rare. What surprised me the most was that they immediately took my husband's steak back and it was back on his plate within minutes. That to me was super amazing! They are right on top of it. Hey, you just can't fix an overcooked steak. I get that. Anyway, everything was great. The steak was a little under seasoned but I appreciated the wood grill flavor. It was also a very good quality steak. The sides were amazing! We really loved the Wedge Salad with the thick cut bacon and Rogue Creamery Smokey Blue Cheese. That was a big hit! The Cauliflower Alfredo was equally as good. We'd order the same sides again. Will we back? Absolutely! It's great for special occasions. It has great ambiance, and the smoky aroma from the kitchen is so wonderful. The service is great. Parking was easy enough. There's also overflow parking in the back. They gave me a slice of carrot cake for my Birthday. I loved it because the cream cheese frosting wasn't too sweet, and I could taste all the carrot cake spices. I just have one request. Please open back up for lunch on the weekdays. I'd be here more often if it were open for lunch again.
