Found a cockroach in my plate just ordered today never going back!

The food is ok, but the customer service needs work. It is rude to hang up on customers. After ordering an entrée, a guy just quoted the price and hung up before I could say another word. I wanted to order something else and ask how long before it's ready. Work on your phone etiquette or hire someone who knows customer service. There are many other options to choose from who also want my business.

I usually go to a different spot but figured I’d try this place. Just got a large egg drop soup and an egg roll. I just wanted an extra bag of the crunchy strips for the soup. It’s a dollar. Really the soup itself is like maybe 3 bucks and i get one bag with a small I can’t get one more bag with a large ok then. She already ran my card and I didn’t have the cash on me so oh well but geez you can’t give me a bag. I’ll just stick to my regular spot.

Didn't get my order correct!! Was in there 20 min longer than expected. They would not return my money so had to tell them over and over again the same order just to get ut right before I left. They may need to brush up on a little more customer service!! It will help. No sorry about the order being wrong at all.

I ordered a few things. Most of the food is what you would expect from a place like this. What I can’t get past is how terrible the rice is. People on here talked about burnt. It’s not burnt. It’s just not good. Other than that is was ok

This place is the bomb. Me and my wife love Chinese we’ve lived in the Riverview area for a long time. Every single thing they make is absolutely cooked the way it should be and it is absolutely delicious. Finally a good Chinese spot. Thank you guys so much keep up the good. I love the General Tso’s chicken. I’ve got it from every Chinese spot around Hillsboro County. This place cooks it best the chicken is not hard soft it doesn’t hurt your teeth when biting down. Need I say more. Wife always orders the vegetable fresh meal. If it was any fresher it would still be in the garden. Again I love you guys

Food is ok when you get fried rice or noodles. But when you get curry based dish sometimes it feels like the meat is not cooked well or it’s reheated and served to you. I go here when I am in desperate need of Chinese food and I am not in a mood to try anything else. You can get really lucky sometimes when everything you order tastes excellent sometimes it can be the other way around where most items taste horrible.

Husband and I both ordered the sweet & sour chicken combo with fried rice and an egg roll. We also had an order of crab rangoon. Our thoughts: Phone order: pleasant experience Restaurant look & feel: clean and updated Cashier: friendly, greeted upon walking in Sweet & sour chicken: taste okay Egg roll: delicious, we enjoyed Crab Rangoon: taste okay but not great Fortune cookie: not that great Overall, we would order again. It’s not our favorite, but it’s the closest location to us.

Place looks clean and people are kind...I love how they make the house special fried rice not every other restaurant makes it that good highly recommend this place.

They’re OK. besides affordable price for lunches, most of their dishes after lunch hours are extremely dry, chewy and low quality. I understand inflation has everything going up but some of the prices for the quality and proportion sizes on some of these meals are ridiculous. I recommend looking elsewhere if you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine.

It's very clean place, we didn't care for the food. Food had no taste, no favor. Good lunch price out of 3 dinners. We waste our money.

Our preferred Chinese American restaurant in the area. Some.ofntje menu items have been changed recently in the way they are prepared, but still really good. Get the house made mustard for a spicy treat.

Placed order online. Paid with card. $ came out of account. Got to store to pick up & they didn’t have the order. Said they haven’t used door dash in 1 1/2 years. No idea what happened. Showed them my order on phone & charge coming out of account. Wouldn’t even offer to let me have the food anyway. Poor customer service!!!

1st time ordering from here $52 dollars worth and of all foods I ordered my spare ribs were the only thing I enjoyed everything else was hard and gushy 1st & Last.

Yesterday I ordered takeout from China Chef in Riverview, Florida and was so disappointed to see them cook my order not wearing a mask; none of the people in the kitchen wore a mask. Sorry but this is Unacceptable!

The food is very good, you have access to parking and the staff work fast, so you don't have a long wait. It's easier to place your order by phone.

First of all, normally I wouldn’t write a review but after having the worst phone call of ordering take out of my life and having multiple bad experiences prior, I had to write. The food is, while good, it’s still subpar for Chinese takeout. Ontop of the food not being great, the people and prices are absolutely rude not worth the price from the multiple experiences i’ve had with going there. The person that took my order on the phone was extremely rude and said words like “oh my gosh” and cursed under her breath for asking questions. I tried to be as nice as I could and respectful but When I was done she immediately hung up on me and that was the worst phone call experience i’ve had and needed to write this review. Conclusion: Don’t come to this place, drive the extra 2 miles down 301 for WAAYYY better chinese takeout.

We tried out a new place for dinner last night. We were all very happy with our dinner. Bourbon chicken, szechuan chicken, fried rice, noodles. It was all very good. We will definitely be back!

Worst orange chicken I have ever had the General chicken tasted like fish 47bucks down drain only thing that was ok was the chicken wings will not be back here rather drive to Apollo beach

Hair in white rice with beef and broccoli. Beef was very chewy. I tried to explain my concern and was told I should have took one bite and retuned sooner. DO NOT EAT HERE. Sauce was not good either

They called me up shortly after placing an online order saying their credit card machine is down and they are only accepting cash... When I said I don't carry cash (like most people these days), they didn't say anything and just hung up on me. First off, RUDE! Second, why bother being open then?? This seems shady, I won't be going here anymore. We have no shortage of Chinese restaurants!

SCAMMERS!! Do not order from them!!!! I ordered through doordash. The delivery person went to pick up my food and they refused to give it to her. Wanted me to somehow pay more money because they had changed their prices in store but they didn't change them on doordash. Tried to claim my card was declined when I had already been charged!! LIARS!! Two separate delivery people sat there for nothing!! Held my food hostage and refused to give me what I had paid for all over $8 and their own mistake!! It's not my fault or problem you didn't change your prices online!! I paid and should have received my food. But no I had to spend 2 1/2 hours calling them and dealing with doordash to get my money back. All so I could order food elsewhere and wait for that! STAY AWAY!!!!

Best Chinese take out I’ve had in a very long time. China Chef has definitely won my business. I’m glad to consider this a local restaurant.

I ordered 2 dinner combination- There were no vegetables, the rice was old & my husband’s honey chicken there was no honey ON the chicken-it was in the bottom under the rice..my Beef Egg Fu Yung was burnt & the ricelooked like it was over a day old & I was given 2 patties instead of 3.. no menus inside the store, so you could see what you were ordering..outside on the window, too high for me to see & the sunlight made it impossible!! This wasn’t the China Chef I’m used to ordering my food

Easy to order online. Staff were difficult to understand on pick up. French fries were good. Sesame chicken and the Hunan were full of flavor. Both the white rice and the chicken fried rice were bland. Do not waste your money on the rice.

I came in at 11am thinking I’d get fresh food. This chicken was so tuff I thought it was burnt steak for a second. Almost every piece was impossible to chew. The flavor was good but the meat inside was awful.

Food was not too bad, but the service was terrible. The tables are also not cleaned and there are flies inside the restaurant due to leaving the door open. The restaurant has potential, but the young lady at the register definitely needs to work on her attitude.

They were friendly and food was ready when he said it would be. Fresh,hot and delicious it was. Nice big shrimp too!

Ordered chicken lo mein, and could only find about a teaspoon of chicken. I think. Ordered shrimp fried rice and got chicken fried rice again with about a teaspoon of chicken we think. Will not order from them again.

Typical Chinese take out. Dining area was pretty clean and well kept. Decent prices and fast service. The food is great tasting but it was also very greasy.

China Chef has high quality Chinese Food like you find in NYC, because the family that runs it is from there. They are a really nice family, they cook the food right in front of you and always have it ready fast. I've been going there since it opened years ago and I will pass by three other Chinese restaurants to get to them. Try the "Happy Family," "Beef Teriyaki," and Crab Rangoons" - Delicious!!!

The foods are tasty and delicious.Price wise ,comparable with like restaurants.The services are prompt as I wait to have my food prepared. Seat-in cum takeout prior to Covid ; but mainly serves takeout now. Cleanliness is okay.Please patronize this restaurant.

Love the food but opening at 12 is ridiculous. Had to find a new place that actually opens 11 like normal places

Walked in to order and made to wait while cashier took 5 phone call orders. Then, when we asked about two prior orders that were wrong (they told us to give a phone number and name and they'd make it right) he said he had no idea about that. We left and went 5 minutes down the road to one of the other dime-a-dozen Chinese restaurants.

Ordered online in advance (they have an option to order for a set time) with a couple special instructions (e.g. extra crispy, extra spicy). Got there about 10 minutes before the food was supposed to be ready to get it hot. It was already prepared, and ended up being cold. None of the special instructions were followed and the extra crispy item was actually soggy. The egg roll was every oily (indicating a fry at too low a temperature). The fried rice was mushy. Decent veggies in one of the dishes, but overall poor experience.

I mean the rice was good...and the sweet and sour chicken. But the low mein tasted off as well as the sesame chicken.

We've been getting take out from this restaurant since we moved to Gibsonton. We have only had a satisfactory result and it's not easy finding a restaurant that never makes a mistake

This is the first time I've ordered from China Chef. I'm in my 50s, and have eaten in, and ordered from many Chinese restaurants along the east coast from New York to Miami. I have never not been served steamed white rice with an entrée. Perhaps there should be a notation on the online ordering website. ☹

The food is pretty decent. However, the customer service, not so much. I’ve moved to Riverview in Oct and have been going to China Chef between 3 & 4 times a month. I’ve had 2 orders that were missing the wontons. I called back both times and let them know. They said they’d save my number and make it up on my next order. However, both times during the next order, they said they couldn’t find anything stating I was missing items. Even though they’re right around the corner from me, I won’t go back. I’ll drive 3 extra miles to Big Bend.

Absolutely the best Chinese takeout in the area! I’ve tried them all and these guys are #1! Everything is cooked and flavored perfectly every single time.

This place is better than most I have tried here in Florida.

Hands down the absolute best Chinese food i have had. The ingredients were super fresh. We got the shrimp with lobster sauce, beef and broccoli and the kung pao chicken and they were all great! We will DEFINITELY be ordering from here again, we've found our new spot.
