We absolutely dread having to use Wokingham Medical Centre. We have lived in Wokingham for 1 year and every experience we have with them has been incredibly difficult. We have learnt from the local community that everyone knows this practice has a terrible reputation. The standard WMC response is 'sorry, please fill in a complaint form' (which is not answered). Rude and unhappy staff, impossible to get an appointment, incompetence, horrible systems, it has it all. It is really sad that such a toxic and dysfunctional organisation is allowed to manage the health of the local community. I have zero confidence that NHS values and principles matter to WMC. Come on NHS, you need to sort this place out urgently, Wokingham deserves much better.

I start to call to make an appointment at 8. When I have been queuing for 40 minutes (sounds like 30 people lining up on the phone) to be answered. When the customer service picked up the phone, I was told it's fully booked. This surgery doesn't allow pre-booking for next week consultation. What an experience! Agree with many reviewers here that they don't really care people. Unfortunately, this is the only NHS covers in my living area.

I just wanted to say how impressed & thankful I am for my visit yesterday. My 1 year old has been poorly & after dropping my big kids at school I decided to take a chance walking into the medical practice rather than calling. Firstly I was greeted by a lovely receptionist such a smiley & helpful person who offered me an appointment for in about half an hour! I appreciate it’s not always the case for everyone but I was very happy. There was a little wait before I got to see the doctor but that’s ok, it’s expected. Dr Robertson exceeded my expectations, very friendly, thorough & everything anyone needs in a GP. I’ve not always had the best experience over the years here, mostly due to errors at reception or poor attitude from reception, but happy to say not this time. Please keep this up!

I'm only leaving 1 star because there is no "0 star" option. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an appointment there and I only call when my children's temperature is over 38 for more than 6 days to get an antibiotics prescription. They even LIE on the phone saying I can get in any pharmacy and they will listen to my child's lungs for free and also prescribe antibiotics! Blatant lie! The pharmacy had no idea what I was talking about. I mean...a child has been coughing ALL THE TIME for a week with a 38.6-39'c fever and they didn't care at all: "we have no appointments". Why are you still registering new patients then???? So done with them.

Very slow to come back to you especially with results and slow at sending prescriptions to the pharmacy. They do not call when results are ready and do not give much guidance before doing a test, which led to a false negative. Not happy with the level of service.

This place does not care about its patients. I am in agony with gout and because my appointment was with someone other than a doctor my prescription needs to be signed off by one. 5 hours after the prescription was electronically generated no doctor has signed it off so I am left in pain. Well done Wokingham medical centre. The place is a disgrace. If you need prescribed medication make sure you see a doctor. Get is printed and take it to a pharmacy.

The service from WMC for a recent medical condition has been faultless! The receptionist fitted me in when I explained my situation. I saw two doctors, a few days apart for related conditions and both doctors I saw were professional, compassionate, thorough and unrushed. I even received a follow up call later in the afternoon. I appreciate that the surgery is busy and getting an appointment can be problematic so, for me, using the Econsult form on their website was a convenient method of getting appropriate care.

I have just tired to call to discuss an appointment. I waited 2 hours 1 minute in a queue of 11 people to make it to position 2 to then be told that they were no longer able to take my call and cut me off. The patient care and consideration is appalling. I don’t believe it takes that long to speak to 9 people so there’s obviously something wrong with how they handle patient calls or perhaps prioritise calls!! It’s not a lot to ask that a call is answered within an acceptable period of time.

I have been at this surgery for over 20 years and it saddens me to see how poor the service now is. After many calls between 111 ( saying I needed to talk to a doctor within an hour)and the surgery the receptionist finally put down the phone on me! I am extremely upset and can not believe the way I have been treated by an organisation which should be caring for people when they are ill.

Sadly still not able to leave MINUS star reviews! This surgery makes no improvement to access to its services given time.. It still has restrictions in place implemented during covid that should have been removed, not everyone wants to discuss there medical matters over the phone!!! We’re not all teenagers!! Access to appointments is still only at 8am, on the telephone roulette, lucky if you get one… At the point in time when the normal working person, or parent, is generally driving to work or to school, the inflexibility of there service to meet the demands of the paying customers, US, via huge amounts of taxation we pay, is abhorrent.. These guys do nothing for the wider cause of the NHS, and certainly nobody running this practise and its customer services , could ever justify a much moaned for pay rise, not from my tax.. Why they cannot operate a service that means you can book an appointment for a future date, for non urgent issues, and leave the 8am timeslot for urgent Issues needing immediate attention that day, is beyond belief.. But, the NHS service doesn’t want to hear about how it can be made more efficient, just rather scream and moan about under resourcing and poor pay.. Do nothing to help themselves, justify the help they want.. That is a rather minor change to what is a completely inflexible service designed for non working people, who pay there salaries..

👍👍 I had the most lovely experience with Lisa when I had a luxury facial. My skin felt amazing after treatment. Lisa is a lovely warm lady and I came away wanting to do it all again
