Ragged Coffee is a relatively new roaster in the Lutz area. Larry, one of the owners, spent some time learning the art of roasting at Tampa coffee company King State. He and his wife then moved north where they started roasting under the Ragged name and selling it at local farmers markets. Now they are back in Florida and Ragged has a brick and mortar shop in Lutz. Ragged has a pretty simple, no frills setup. When you enter you can pretty much see everything in the place. The open concept includes a small coffee tasting station and checkout area to the left. The center of the shop is all coffee. In the front, there is a table with bags of Ragged Coffee. At the time of my visit they had three or four single origin roasts, a couple blends and, I believe, one decaf. Behind this table there are bags of unroasted coffee on pallets. In the back, the roaster itself. Yes, that big beautiful roaster is there for all to see. To the right, Ragged has some merch for sale. I picked up a bag of their Ethiopian single origin. The 12 ounce bag cost about fourteen dollars which is pretty comparable, if not slightly cheaper, than other independent roasters in the area. I love the fact that there is a new coffee roaster in the Lutz area with a good product that is affordable. Ragged, I will be back.

I enjoyed sampling the coffee right there in store. The Guatemala Coffee had a citrus flavor that I really enjoyed. Can't wait to try the midnight oil tomorrow morning! The business owner is very attentive and roasts the beans right there in store. Its smells great! Also, he says thank his wife for the cool design she is the creative one. I love that not only is he brave enough to open a small business of his own but gives credit where credit is due.

Ragged Coffe is has the freshest and highest quality coffee in the area! Larry and Jamie are wonderful people, very warm and welcoming! Definitely recommend the Ethiopian and new, Mexico beans they are amazing!

you can drink better coffee...lets be honest Keurig coffee tastes bad and is outrageously expensive....go see Larry at Ragged...if you want to go into the minute details of coffee he'll go there with you...if you just want a better cup of coffee, Larry will give you some tips, share a cup with you, help you choose a bag of on-site freshly roasted coffee....why shouldn't that cup of coffee at home taste as good as when you're out at a restaurant?.......you'll will be super happy... ......can't give higher praise to this business....

Just got my first bag from the monthly roasters choice subscription. This is excellent, they send it just under a week old so you can try it without having to wait for the degassing. This is delicious, we are loving it and I cannot wait to try more. I am so glad I finally signed up and get to support a proper local roaster. I look forward to more. This is great. Price is very fair, shipping is really fast. Product is top tier.

If you haven’t discovered this local gem, do yourself and your tastebuds a flavor (pun intended). Owner is welcoming and generous about sharing his knowledge. We’ve enjoyed every coffee but love the darker roasts, whole bean or ground to request. The cold brew is awesome. Been giving Ragged coffee as gifts for awhile now and always well received. Larry is wonderful. He is very helpful and tried to share his knowledge and help me with getting started!! I'm new to espresso brewing and I'm glad to find such passionate people very close to my home. Will definitely keep visiting. Just got my first beans from them. The place is also very cool with nice collection of merch.

Came here thinking it was a normal coffee shop; However we figured out we were wrong. Nevertheless, the owner talked with my wife and made us some of the best tasting pour over roasted coffee we've had in our lives, and we've been around Asia and lived in Hawaii along the coffee belt. 20/10 I would recommend his product.

Amazing company and amazing coffee. Used to order coffee online. It wanted to support a local business. At my first visit the owner was friendly and helpful. The coffee is very fresh and the flavor is amazing.

Awesome coffee! Was a black rifle coffee drinker and switched to Ragged. Love that it’s a family owned local company. Gotta start everyday with a cup of early riser. Thanks Larry!

I have been getting beans from Ragged for about a year now. I have tried many, but keep coming back to his Ethiopian bean. Consistently roasted and So good! I also stopped in recently to try the new cold brew. It was delicious! Really smooth, subtle sweetness with a slight dark chocolate flavor. Was the perfect cold brew for a hot day. I’ll definitely be going back for that.

This coffee is so good! I make cold brew and they grind it perfectly for me and the rest of my family use regular. They willgrind it however you like. They have 5 different types and I’m trying them all out! I believe they have a taste and grind to suit everyone. They are also super helpful so if you don’t even know exactly what you want, they will guide you. Give them a try…you won’t be disappointed!

I’m from Orlando but was visiting the Tampa area, and when I stumbled upon Ragged Coffee, I had to try it. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!!! I ordered a pour over and also got a Colombia Snapchill. Larry is the man! Highly recommend.
