Our 2 night stay in suite #9 was in October 2021. Check in was friendly and fast. Room was quaint and clean. Was nice to have amenities such as a full kitchen and separate bedroom. No ice machine on property and only one ice tray provided in freezer. For us bed was small and uncomfortable with extremely flat inexpensive pillows. Tossed and turned and never did sleep well. Bathroom was decent but toilet seat was loose and wanted to come off when lifted. Toilet would only flush every 2nd or 3rd time but got used to that. Water pressure was nice and plenty of hot water but be sure to bring shampoo and soap, the soap offered dries your skin out and no shampoo. Of course this is all our opinions. Living room furniture was very low and uncomfortable for us tall guys. Location was great and walking distance to many great restaurants and Pier 60. Was a nice change not to pay for parking. Beach chairs, umbrellas, toys offered to guests so that's a bonus. I think for the price we paid we did not find it a value or would stay again.

Best place to stay on the beach. Rodney and Gayle are the best! They work hard to make your time there a pleasure. Not many places like this left anymore. I highly recommend the Blue Wave when you need a spot to stay when at Clearwater Beach. You will remember them as I did for many years. I wish you well Rodney and Gayle!!

We recently stayed at the Blue Wave for 3 nights and would 10/10 go back again. This place is old school. When you check in you'll notice that they keep reservations written on a paper calendar on the reception desk. I say this so you'll know what they mean if you call and they say they're not in front of the calendar. Our room was clean and had everything we needed to relax and save some money by cooking. You will be walking distance to the beach, a variety of restaurants/shopping, and a nearby 2 story Walgreens that has everything you're accustomed to plus groceries and beer. Another thing we loved was that they provided toys for the beach, chairs, umbrella, towels, and a cart to carry everything in! You can truly just show up with a bathing suit and have a great beach vacation. Pro tips: they have a split A/C in the unit which can make the bedroom cold. Leave the bedroom door open at night to let the cool air get into the main living space. Some of the nearby restaurants are quite popular but offer take out if you don't mind eating on the shared patio. Ice&Cream Creamery was a nice treat to cool down and had some coconut milk ice cream selections if you have anyone who is lactose intolerant in your party.

Great older style motel, good spot for families, close to everything and the place is like a fortress, we visited during spring break and were shocked at the amount going of outdoor noise when we opened the door at night. We barely heard a peep from the room. We loved the deck in the morning as well! Having one bedroom and a pull out couch was perfect for our family of four—and access to all the beach toys, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, and ice was amazing! The place is very clean, the pull out couch bed is not terribly comfortable but most of those beds aren’t. We had a great stay!

Gayle, please don't go. We love you and would miss you sooooooo much!!! You ARE Blue Wave to so many of your guests. Plus, You're like FAMILY to us!!!!!!! Michele, Russell and Claire This is the best Mom N Pop style Motel/Hotel EVER. If you prefer service, amenities and location over a view and expensive everything, then this is the place for you!!!!!!

Friendliest staff. Very personable. Very clean rooms, cool AC, and comfy bed with a nice shower, and with an unbeatable location. We didn’t even rent a car, able to walk to everything and anything. Short walk to the beach and bay. She has beach chairs, coolers, ice, towels, anything you may need, just bring yourself!! Would definitely stay again!!

The ladies that run The Blue Wave are the absolute best and make your time at their place unforgettable. We were in the Tommy Bahama room and it was absolutely perfect for our girls trip with a full kitchen, dining room, living room and seperate bedroom. The unit stayed cool and comfortable and was clean and well kept. We all slept well and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved that they supplied beach umbrellas and chairs, wagons, floaties, even coolers at no extra cost. They truly want you to have a wonderful vaction and do their best to make sure you do! Lastly the location was spot on! Your off the main drag away from the hustle and bustle but so close to it all that its literally the next road up to get to the action. The road that the Blue wave sits on is also a beach access road just two cross walks away from the beautiful white sands. We are already looking forward to our next visit ❤️

The rooms are slightly outdated, all of the outlets are very loose and there was no outlet in the bathroom. The bed in our room was a bit stiff, but the pull out couch and futon were very comfy. They have beach gear - coolers, chairs, wagons, ice, sunscreen, towels and ice available for guests to use for their beach days. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. The beach is a quick 5 min walk. Lots of stores and restaurants nearby.

I am so glad to have found this great place to stay. It is close to everything so you can easily walk to restaurants, shopping, and the beach. This place also has anything you might need for your vacation like beach toys, umbrellas, you have 2 beach chairs in your closet, sunscreen, coolers etc. I feel like I also need to mention that the shower water pressure is better than what I have at home. Haha It will definitely get the sand and conditioner out of your hair, but can hurt a little if your burnt. Oh yea the water gets hot too. I was told in October they are renovating the whole place & don’t plan on upping the cost to much. One of the best things about this place is the lady who works during the week. I wish I remembered her name. She is so sweet and helpful. I have teen boys and they even mentioned how nice she was. They have a washer/dryer on site for $2 a load for each, but I was told they plan on putting them in each room. Overall we love this place and I’m so thankful I took the chance. One last thing is if you have a car you don’t have to pay for parking & that is something that adds up quickly in Clearwater. They also have a nice rooftop area to hang out at and I’ll share pics of it. You can see the ocean from there.

This place was perfect. We went with 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 12). Location , location, location was unbeatable. We did not have to rent a vehicle. You are smack in the middle of all the fun but private enough to enjoy some downtime in between. Gail is lovely, personable, and accommodating. She is the gem to this spot! It is a 35 minute uber ride from Tampa airport. We would highly recommend and stay again for sure! Thank you Blue Wave for the wonderful memories from this past week. xo Mary Beth

Loved this place! The location was prime & perfect to see the inter coastal waters & the ocean! Motel room was clean, & beyond my expectations! They even had beach chairs, toys & umbrellas for us to use. Can’t wait to come back!!

Was two blocks from the beach. Another block to the water. Service was nice. Had chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels, ice, etc did that was nice because we flew in. Room was cold and bed firm. Pillows were flat though. Nice stand in shower. We would use again if we go to Clearwater.

We are repeat customers and there is a reason for that! We have everything we need and more. Gayle and Kathy are terrific hosts and want to make sure we were content. It’s the best place for amenities, location and staff ! Clean room, towels, ice, coolers, beach towels... the list is a plenty. Just book the flight and pick up your groceries or go to any of the nearby restaurants.

Best location, couple of blocks away from beach and 5-6 min walk to pier and top restaurants in clearwater, nice rooms and Gayle and Kathie are awesome hosts. You have everything that you need for a beach vacation …free beach chairs, towels etc. The best part I liked was their terrace decorated with nice ambience…so sit back, relax and watch the sky 🌌

Love this place! Gayle is an angel and Mike is a hero. This place is amazing and central to everything Clearwater.
