My kids started Art of War Brazillian Jiu Jitsu 2 months ago and they really love it. I have seen them grow physically, mentally & socially. All the games they play are fun but are also moves that help them learn techniques better. The coaches are very good at getting to know my kids and partnering them up with other kids around their level to help them excel. Art of War BJJ is definitely an awesome place for my kids.

My son has been attending Art of War studio for 6 + months now and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Hard work, diligence and respect are some of the fundamental principles that the gym runs on and they have not only been a support to my son but have taught him to complete at national levels with sportsmanship and professionalism that is unparalleled. Our son has always been athletic so finding a gym that supported his dreams to be the best in his field of choice was daunting but Art of War has surpassed what we hoped for. The owner Art is the top in his field and has passed his knowledge onto the staff and they not only teach to the highest standard but personally uphold the highest standards of integrity, character and professionalism. The culture and atmosphere of the gym is helping my husband and I pursue raising our son to contribute to society in way that impacts the community for good and provides a safe environment for our son to train to be like the elites training him. The monthly cost is completely reasonable and when compared to other gyms in the area, Art of War is the best. They have multi-class times that are very flexible and can work with busy families schedules. My son started BJJ this year having very little knowledge of the sport- in a few months he has won over 6 gold medals in multiple state matches and a sword all while having the support of His coaches on the side of the mat cheering him on! My son could not have experience this level of skill and talent with out the help, coaching and direction of of Art, Amos and the rest of the staff at Art of war.

All the coaches are very good with the kids and it's a chill spot. They have classes for humans ages 4+ and that's nice. I wish i would've come pre-pandemic. Would've probably been going myself. I still might. We shall see.

Top tier jiujitsu. The children’s program has a well monitored student to coach ratio and the instruction is well planned out. The students WANT to put in the work to grow their skills, have fun, and respect the coaches and professors. Coach Lori, Coach Thomas, Coach Keith, Coach Sadie and Professor Art take the time to guide and know each practitioner from the future little rollers all the way through the adults and their extended family cheer squad. When looking for an academy as a mother and practitioner I look for pristine cleanliness, honor and respect based instruction, family oriented atmosphere and it must have a healthy competitive spirit. This place has it all. I bring my 4 children from little rollers to teen to train here. It feels like walking into a family with all the aunts, uncles and cousins reaching out to bring you under their wings. It’s a bonus that it keeps us in shape. Zero drama and zero tolerance for it. Growth focused people like these don’t allow the low vibes for negativity. They utilize that energy on the mat.

Cannot say enough great things about Art of War Jiu Jitsu! Our son is 5 (in the Tiny’s Class) and we have been coming here for the past few months. We’re lucky and get to come to all 5 classes each week. After going to a couple different places we chose Art of War for the following reasons. 1.) The coaches are engaging and maintain the perfect balance between discipline and playfulness. They know every child’s name and what works best for them as individuals. 2.) The environment is quiet and there’s no other classes going on to distract the kids like some other places. It’s so much easier for them to focus this way! 3.) The gym is immaculate. Everything is orderly and clean. This extends to the children coming on and off the mat and keeping their feet clean. 4.) Maybe not a big deal for some people but the respect they give each child by calling them “ma’am” or “sir” (and respect they expect in return) is great. We highly recommend them for anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu. (They offer a free trial class so you can go see for yourself how awesome they are. That’s what we did!)

My son loves it! Art of War Jiu Jitsu is amazing and I only wish we discovered it sooner! My son is constantly challenged and looks forward to going to class which makes this Mom’s heart happy. The facility is large and always extremely clean and hygienic. The skill level of the instructors is top notch. The staff is amazing and consistent, which is refreshing! They even took the time and effort to better understand child psychology to provide the highest quality of teaching the art of Jiu Jitsu to youth and it is evident through each session. Most importantly, AOWJJ harbors a family environment that makes you feel right at home the day you start. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

I really never do reviews for places but I feel like AOW deserves to be put on the map as one of the best gyms around…One of the most important things in my opinion about joining a new gym wether you’ve been training for a while, or if you are just starting out, is how you’re treated on your first day in the gym. I’ve been training for about 5 years now and I’ve trained in a handful of BJJ/MMA gyms. I’ve recently joined AOW after trying to find a solid gym in the Jacksonville area, and I’ve gotta say.. This gym is definitely unique and unlike any I’ve experienced , simply based on the structure on how the classes are ran and how everything you do in the gym is controlled and calculated for you by the instructor to best fit your training progression needs… from the moment you step foot in the door Arthur and his crew make sure you are taken care of and welcomed with the upmost care every step of the way to make sure you are prepared to have the best possible time on the mat learning and practicing the beautiful art of jiu jitsu no matter what your skill level. When you join this gym they make it a priority to get to know who each individual team member is, I truly believe they genuinely care about each member.. I’ve never felt like I was just another person coming to train who was unknown to the instructor. Every person in this gym is respectful and great to train with from the newbies to the savages. The vibe in this gym is one of the absolute best I’ve experienced in my few years of training and I am so proud to be apart of this academy. I highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to train BJJ in Jacksonville area.. 5 full stars 🤙🏽🤙🏽 Oss!

This place is great for kids. My son is 4 and has been going for ~6 months. I've noticed a big difference in his development. He is much more assertive, it has helped him with his coordination, and improved his ability to stick up for himself. Coach Art is a badass and he has a rare talent in the way he is able to connect and command respect from the children. The kids love him and it is very impressive how he is able to keep their attention and get them to follow instructions while keeping a calm demeanor. I coach kids sports and it is not easy to stay composed, but Coach Art has that gift. The staff is great as well, especially coach Lori - she is amazing with the children and they respond very well to her.

The instructor Arthur is a very well trained black belt and is super good with kids and adults. He has one of the cleanest facilities I’ve been to and he has helped me win many medals in a short amount of time training with him.

I signed my son up just 2 months ago, he is 14 and he loves it. The new location is amazing and Art is the best. They welcomed my son an myself with open arms and they treat you like family. Best place if you want to learn jujitsu hands down.

Best choice I could have made for my son. My son has been attending this Bjj training program for a month and I have noticed an amazing difference in his confidence and he's excited to go everyday. The instructors are great and shows a lot of care in the kids learning while taking time to assist them with the various positions. They are often complimenting them as they do well which further promotes their engagement to learn and do well. Also, the environment has been very welcoming from the moment I walked into the door. Overall, I am happy Art of War was recommended to me and I look forward to continuing to watch my son blossom in this art with the help of these instructors.

I’ve been training at Art of War since 2021 and can definitely say this is my favorite place to be! I still remember the first day I stepped foot in the dojo and thought to myself, “this feels right.” I was treated with respect and had a ton of fun. There are many schools you can learn Brazilian Jui Jitsu from but few have the unique atmosphere that Professor Art has been able to create. The BJJ curriculum is structured in a way that enables students to build upon their knowledge from one class to the next instead of totally random techniques being taught on any given day. Additionally, Professor Art does a great job of teaching a wide range of techniques in both gi and no-gi. I recommend checking this place out whether you’re a total newbie or a seasoned competitor. Nothing but good vibes when you step on the mats!
