Firstly I started off by going swimming, I was having a shower prior to getting in the pool as it came to my attention there were poo marks up the wall as well as mould growing on the changing room cubicals. The pool itself was cold. After swimming we decided to eat at holgates and I ordered the holgates special burger which came with chips, presentation was good however there was a finger nail in my burger. Overall my valentines weekend at holgates was a disappointment I won’t be recommending it.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay (jubilee weekend) at Holgates Silverdale. Two adults a 5 year old and a 13 year old and everyone of us enjoyed our stay! We were on the touring site and what a touring site it was!! Fantastic pitches, great size and all in a great location for different reasons such as close to the park, playing field or a fantastic view! The toilet block was spotless! The cleaners work endlessly to ensure the high standards of cleanliness is kept up, you constantly see the toilets and site being cleaned. We used the on-site pool which was lovely! If I had one negative about our whole stay it would be the lifeguards who look like they are being held agains their will! Our youngest had a fantastic time taking part in the sports day that the site held, the members of staff who were running this were absolutely amazing! The kids all kept engaged and had fun! The beach is a lovely ten minutes stroll away and there are so many walks around the area. We never used the bar area as children under 16 are not allowed in so we can’t comment on the nighttime entertainment that was on. We had torrential rain during one night we expected the site to be flooded but to our surprise the sites drainage system handle it well and by dinner the site was completely dry! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this site and we will be returning in the future.

Easily the best site we've stayed on with our tourer The toilet blocks are cleaned with a level of attention to detail i don't think I've ever seen before. They are absolutely spotless. I even deliberately tried to find fault and couldn't. The site is gorgeous, stunning swimming pool with sauna and steam room as well as jacuzzi pool. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. As other people mention, it's not the cheapest site but for what you get we've always found it represents good value. I think you'd have to go a long way to find a better looking, cleaner site.

Stayed on this site a few times now. Beautiful location. Excellent facilities for everyone. The fees are quite high compared to other places but well worth it. Great size pitches for touring...lovely walks. Very clean. The staff are excellent and the food is too. Going again today for a much needed break away...see you soon 😎

I regularly use the cafe and am amazed that staff, those in particular that wear their own clothes not standard Holgates uniform think it is fine to stand around gossiping, giggling, not attentive to customers and get orders wrong because they are not concentrating on the customer but gossip. Surely staff should not have time to stand around chatting, gossiping. The image is not good for the customer. These people are letting your standards slip. Twice I had to take a simple order back the other day as they weren’t listening to me!

Just finished a 3 night stay here in our touring caravan. I cannot praise the place enough, the staff are all fantastic, especially in such a busy time. The general manager Simon who has worked here for over 20 years was rushed off his feet but still took the time to talk to us. The food is amazing , the facilities are fantastic especially for the children. We used the swimming pool , sauna jacuzzi every evening after being out all day and the places is so well maintained and clean. Caravan pitches are large and spacious we had our own hedges off pitch so felt it was more private. We dont usually go to busy sites as we like to enjoy peace and quiet , but this place has it all, and waking up to nothing hut the sounds of the birds is just bliss. We loved our stay and we will definitely return, thank you for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic five star holiday park and really well looked after. We were camping at the very top end of the site and we had great views over the bay from there. Can be a bit rocky in places so bring your best pegs, but plenty of space and shade too. Electric hookup available. Lodges and wide spaces for touring caravans/motorhomes too. Facilities on site were brilliant with swimming pool, park, restaurant, arcade, bowling and more. Food in the restaurant was lovely and the fish & chips was very nice! The site was immaculate and clean, as well as the toilets, and the staff really do take pride in the place. Staff were very friendly and nothing ever too much trouble. Definitely recommend to anyone!

We have always liked Holgates Silverdale campsite. The walking in the area is fantastic and the layout of the touring campsite means the pitches are not crowded or in regimented rows. We prefer the end furthest away from reception as it is more open. It was cold on this visit which was a birthday treat as at £40.50 a night for our small campervan it is way over budget for a normal few days away. We were disappointed to find that our nearest shower block, although clean, was barely heated and having a shower was a bracing experience. For the cost we did expect better and could have used other similarly expensive sites that have much better sanitary blocks. Fortunately it was warm in the reception building and the pool. The walking remains fantastic and having snow was a real bonus.

Just love visiting this very special place at the heart of Silverdale by the beautiful Arnside coast. The customer service is of the best I have ever received, all the staff are so welcoming and friendly which is a credit to them. This is an ideal place to stay if you are hoping to visit the Lake District, with both Windermere and Ambleside only an hours drive away. The food is always tasty and is served quickly, with the restaurant selling a range of food, from pizzas and burgers , to a selection of sandwiches and fish and chips. The pool facilities are always immaculate, with a relaxing sauna , steam room and jacuzzi, it is almost like visiting a spa, and for £8 it is absolutely faultless and reasonable. I have stayed here before , with my boyfriend and his family during November, which was a great time to come as it was bonfire night and the display was amazing. Will continue to visit here ! Absolutely incredible place. Welcoming place for families and all ages would recommend

I'm not impressed with the service here. Arrived at sirmte with motorhome and couldn't go through the barriers and ended up blocking the gates and going into reception. The site is too large, and it takes 10 minutes just to walk to shops. The complimentary WiFi requires a voucher code, and no one on site managed to log in even after acquiring 2 or more codes from the reception. WiFi is way too slow to browse websites. Hard ground pitches are impossible to peg down without a hammer drill and masonary drill bit, I ended up bending a few M8 hard ground screws.

Fantastic place. Facilities are brilliant. Toilets and showers always clean. Just one comment, the picnic benches at the front of reception need cleaning more frequently.

Had a 3 night stay here around mid August with my husband and 3 kids. We stayed in the luxury glamping pod. It looks new and clean. My kids enjoyed the facilities. They have a little arcade, billiards and bowling too; we all played. They also have a friendly shop and small indoor play area for little kids. They have a few outdoor playgrounds and woods where my kids played with the other kids. It was great and my kids had absolute fun. They have a restaurant, we never tried it as we have brought most of our food. They also have a small ice cream parlour. We had a swim in the indoor pool, it is big but it was quite busy on when we came. But they have another pool that we tried as it was open (they have adults only pool time) and jacuzzi. Only complaint, a tiny one... my small daughter and 5 yr old boy went on the small pool. We weren't aware it was for babies. That time there was only a father and baby there. So my son and daughter went. The old lifeguard shouted at my kids whilst I was asking them to get out. He was angry and so grumpy at us whilst telling us off. At first I thought oh maybe because he's just tired etc. However a few minutes later, a big guy's kid went on this fountain thing on the side of the pool. He came and talk to him so nice and polite!!!! So he can shout at kids and woman and be so rude but if it's a big man he'll be nice. He was my only issue there apart from that, everyone else are so friendly and professional. A lovely place to stay and highly recommended. Great place for camping. Around the village too has lovely places to walk. The beach is nice but not for swimming as the sand is more of a mud. We walked to find Pepperpots too.

Sites do not come much better than this. We have just spent a couple of nights there and it was excellent. The pool area with steam room, sauna and jacuzzi was great. The touring pitches are a good size with all the facilities to hand. It is a beautiful site and spotless wherever you go

We went here on holidays in the late 70’s when I was a child. Best holidays ever. I imagine it has changed since but I reckon they still have iced gems and an outside swimming pool?? My best memories are of this place.

Touring caravan: Lovely site, facilities spotless, pool superb. Would have preferred an allocated pitch before arrival that’s all.

Another fantastic Weekend. Always clean and excellent services. Highly recommend coming here for a weekend. I did however have one issue. Firstly was the bar staff. Who are lovely, but spend way to much time talking and getting orders wrong. I had to wait for them to finish having a chat and for them to notice me, so I can could place my order, which they got wrong. I am forgiving and understand that we can get lost in conversations.

Great holiday park within a comfortable drive of Morecambe and the South Lakes. On site there is a restaurant and bar, swimming pool, soft play and arcade. Loads for kids to do. Beach right across the road. Perfect on a sunny day. Stayed in both the static caravans and the glamping pods, both excellent.

Brilliant site been here 4 years now and grandkids love it. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food is good but not keen on the new menu launched today, 10 main fishes and 5 are spicy, choice is poor.

Fantastic holiday park. We have stayed at silverdale, silveridge and bay view. All lovely in their own right. Most recently silveridge which I love the tranquility and scenic surroundings. Took dog with us. Static caravan spotless. Staff great. Great bar and bowling alley! Love this place and making lots of memories here with my children. Book each year 😊

Excellent high quality facilities, beautiful scenery close to the beach and lovely walks along the coast. Particular thanks to the site manager Sam for his help and kindness.

Great site with great facilities and location. Site fees are high but justified by the swimming pool, play parks etc However, the site is really lacking EV charging points, which in 2023 has become a fundamental requirement, and extra revenue stream for the site. It looked as though at least 10% of visitors had EV's but are not being catered for.

I hired a pod here. I checked the sheets on arrival and found several hairs on them. Housekeeping changed them and blamed the laundry. Reception did not enter my reg number into their security system as they should have done when I checked in, so twice I was held up in my car at the barrier. It was during a heatwave, so the pod was like an oven. I left about 8.45 am, to find Reception was closed until 9, and no obvious place to drop off the key. The park as a whole is well laid out and very tidy. The location is good if you like Morecambe Bay.

I have always loved this site, facilities great, food in resturant good, toilets always clean and staff always pleasant. However, this visit, I couldn't believe the number of Holgates vehicles going up and down, from early morning, through the touring pitches it seemed quite ridiculous. I understand there has to be cleaning and maintenance but is it necessary for so many vans ? Another minor quibble tables on outside seating area hadn't been dried off even though it was around 3pm. Just minor points as the site is brill.

Stayed in one of the statics on site. Very clean and well maintained. The facilities are very well looked after and the site is huge. The swimming pool can get busy but this is to be expected during school holidays. A slight word of warning, expect a few windy single lane country roads in the way in (just a word of warning as an ex-touring-caravan'er) but overall I cannot fault this site.
