We love going to the Golden Sands Caravan Park. It brings back so many memories for my partner. As she was taken here when she was a child. So it's only right we keep that tradition with our own children when we can. The caravan park is very clean and all the staff are friendly. The beach is situated only a few minutes walk from any of the caravans. There is also an Asda supermarket only 5 minutes away in a car or if you can only walk. There is a best-one shop just at the entrance of the road that leads to the main reception of the caravan park. The kids play area is a good size and there is a caged off football or basketball area to. The inside swimming pool is small, but at the moment with restrictions in place. You have to book your time slot and it is not over crowded. Next door to the swimming pool is a sit-in dining area, also in the same building is arcade and slot machines for the kids and also grown ups. The evening entertainment starts from 7pm and it ranges from kids singing and dancing, bingo and live music. The bar area serves a wide range of alcohol drinks and non-alcoholic drinks. Over-all, you get out of what you want to at this park. You can venture out to other parts of the local area to visit other beaches or local towns etc. We didn't this time round. As we only stayed for a few days.

Fabulous stay, with lots of entertainment in the evenings and a decent sized arcade and park for the children. A stones throw from the beach too. Only down side is the check in process, its extremely long and frustrating. With most guests arriving on a Friday for a long weekend, I felt they were extremely understaffed for the jubilee weekend. We also squeezed all our bedding including duvets and pillows into the car as the lady at booking said our upgrade via the sun didn't include bedding. I asked for this to be checked via email and over the phone. We arrived to fully made beds, with duvets and covers. This was lovely but we really could of done with the room as it meant I had to sacrifice my mobility scooter to make room for bedding in the car. However on a positive a huge shout out to the ladies at the pool. They are constantly cleaning and are so good with the children. I'm disabled and they offered to fetch my aids from one side of the pool to the other. Overall a lovely stay once you're checked in.

Arrived to find out my booking had been messed up. I'm a wheelchair user and was told I wasn't in an accessible caravan which I had booked and paid for. So was given a chalet which I couldn't get into the bathroom to even use the toilet. Was left in there for 2 days! Then they moved me to a lodge with 4 steps to get into! It was more spacious and I could use the rooms but had to climb the steps on my knees (amputee) first. This then caused back ache all week! Then the boiler kept going off so had to wash in cold water. Just wasn't good enough at all. The holiday itself was enjoyable. Was really clean and right on the beach. Nightclub was fab! Love how they start the night for toddlers.

Came on hoilday to stay on this caravan park The bed sheets are very dirty not been washed properly. The double bed was uncomfortable told the staff they would bring a new mattress over didn't come with the mattress The fish and chips shop wasn't open on the days it was meant to be open I have a baby and told she had to sleep in the living room on her own as there was no room wasn't having that so the staff came and took one bed out of bed room to fit her cot in. The swimming pool is good evening entertainment was good for kids I enjoyed the kids bingo. And they don't have a shop on the site to buy milk and bread.

Pleasantly surprised by this site! We booked last minute in a saver caravan for this bank holiday weekend and it was perfectly fine, clean, nice hot shower. Club house is brilliant, kids entertainment very good. Bingo was fab. Only real thing I could mark down on was that the mattresses weren't that comfy but if it's only for a few nights it's not the end of the world! Travelling with a 2 year old 👶

Stayed here for about 4months last year 2021 in private caravan for work. Excellent site amazing staff. Onsite chippy is pretty good too with very generous portions. We were really close to the coastal path but not disturbed by others at all. Highly recommend and i cant wait to come back.

The worst holiday I've ever had the caravan I paid £1049 we couldn't get in our caravan until 5pm which should of 2pm as they said it was getting a deep clean due to covid when we arrived it was rotten full of black mold and dust which had triggered my asthma. Beds should of been made up which they weren't they where left for a disabled person to make which people had left cigarette stumps on the mattress and used bobbles there was no floor brush no hoover had to get on hands and knees to clean floor no grill to cook the shower didn't work properly and was leaking all under the van and draws all hanging off. Missed a few days of holiday due to health reasons after cleaning a rotten caravan wrote a letter to the boss and went in to reception not once have I had a phone call a sorry nothing and as for the site there's nothing really on there so save your money and go else where.

Went for a 4 nights was really nice, it’s a large site as we were split in 2 different caravans was a bit of a trek but a stones throw from the beach. Few negatives for kids evening entertainment was just a projection from little baby bum! And the caravan wasn’t as clean as it should have been especially under the current circumstances. Apart from that a great location fantastic staff and enough entertainment to keep all ages entertained

Absolute rip off , charging families to gain access to clubs ect.....its bloody hard enough saving up and taking the kids away but to be charged an obscene amount to get in is just an absolute rip off , I would understand of it was reasonable but it's far from reasonable!! Someone must sit in an office and think ..." How can we make families fork out more money while they are here! ...i know! Charged them a fortune to gain access!! Then charge them another fortune for drinks !! ...NEVER EVER EVER BE COMING BACK. What ever happened to GOOD old British Holidays???? Gone !!!! More interested in making 💰 💸 💲 💶 💰

Me and my partner just got back home from a week holiday here, we enjoyed our stay , great beach access for strolls and to take in the sea view, facilities and caravans kept clean and tidy , staff very polite and informative to where you can go to off the park too. The maintenance staff top notch our shower was cold , problem fixed with half hour of us reporting it. We would definitely come here again , nice peaceful getaway with great friendly people.

Only reason we didn't put 5 stars was there was lettuce in the bottom of our sundae at the sandpiper restaurant. It wasn't busy so I'm assuming they don't wash up the plates very thoroughly.. just ate at other places. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Park clean and tidy. And well maintained

Stayed here for 4 nights and it was a lot of fun. Very close to local supermarkets and just a short journey to the beach. Staff lovely, whole place was clean. Would definitely go again!

Love it here, have been coming here for a while have had many trips here too, fab entertainment and lovely bar/restaurant too, only thing I would say is there is no kn site shop, so if u need anything u need to go down a single file road with no path to the shop at the end. Other than that the park is lovely and right on the beach too

Was here last year in the summer of 2020. Everything was super clean and spot on however standards have dropped. We have had a broken bed, blood stained mattress, dirty sheets and someone else's underwear in a bed. Was 5 stars last year, now 2 stars because of on site amenities and location

You know what you're getting at these places - good Welsh beach caravan holiday - and Golden Sands do it really well :) Lovely beach (bit of litter, not their fault), nice pool, nice clean caravan, really good on-site arcade with generous tickets. Great for footie fans, tons of screens in the bar. Nice mocktails for the kids. Good range of beers. Highlights for us were the menu at the Sandpiper on site, which was well priced and had some really good veggie options and lovely puds. Also friendly staff, with a special mention to Heather at the Sandpiper for being fab, friendly and helpful.

When myself and my husband checked into golden sands holiday camp north wales, we was made to feel so welcome and we asked for a caravan nearer to entertainment complex, due to my disability and guess what we was facing the complex, when I’m booking again I’m going to ask for that specific caravan and let’s hope we get it again! I loved the sandpiper bar very excellent prices,we also enjoyed the bingo eyes down 8-15pm and the money is brilliant! We enjoyed going out for the day to towyn but with my disability I had to get a taxi and reception were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble the staff were lovely ladies so professional and very polite, they couldn’t do enough for me, we wanted to stay a extra night but unfortunately they were fully booked,I really did enjoy my stay and I will definitely be returning again next year 2023, thank you for my lovely stay you are a great campsite the best in north wales and I’m looking on away resorts to book again and I can’t wait,as we speak my son is now and is highly recommended by him, thank you for a great holiday!

Stayed here last week with my 5 kids. Caravan was lovely. At the end of the holiday a man turned up to the caravan to state we was late through checkout. We apologised and rushed out as quickly as we could. Locked everything up and left within 30 minutes I was back at the site because we had left a money tub with over £200 in coins in. The lady on reception allowed me back to the caravan wen I got there it was open and the money tub was gone. They couldn’t find it anywhere. So my kids had lost all of their arcade money because someone didn’t hand it in when they found it. I’ve been going to this site fore about 15 years. I won’t be going back if that’s the staff they hire.

Spent a week here with my partner and 5 children. We stayed in a lodge with hot tub and were very impressed. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. The arcade and carousel bar were great and the entertainment staff were incredible and made our holiday. The only small issues we found were with the on site chippy, portion sizes were very small for the price and food wasn't very nice at all. All in all we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back again. Please pass on my thanks to all the entertainment staff as they really were brilliant and my children had the best time thanks to them.

Booked into a superior caravan, but on entry this was far from superior. The seats and carpets were dirty, the kitchen sink was greasy, the plates in the cupboard were greasy. Worst still the small bedroom was like a smokers paradise! So we went to the local Asda to buy cleaning products as reception was closed. We sprayed Zoflora every where and left the caravan to defume. It certainly helped when we came back after a much-needed pint in the Harbour pub, but the smoke den no difference. So forced to sleep with the window open. To be fair our bed was made and was comfortable. Didn't want to cook breakfast and planned to leave, but they did rectify and move us to a decent caravan, which begs the question, why couldn't we of had that in the first place? Very disappointed as we are returning customers, but won't be returning again. It's a shame as the location is pretty good for access to Rhyl on the sea side path.

Rented a private caravan a week ago we was staying for 3 nights but payed extra for another night. The entertainment was really good the staff were really nice. The only thing I didn't like was the swimming. Your only allowed a 45 minute session per day which was 30 minutes after getting the kids ready. We only went one day because it just wasn't worth the hassle. Apart from the swimming we all enjoyed it. Thank you

Weekend break, small compared to a Haven site. But loved it as it is not as commercialized as Haven. Lovely beach, cut through the path to the market and fair. 5 minute coastal walk to Asda. Staff couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant served nice food, nice touch giving kids eat for a pound and every main meal bought you got a free dessert. So the kids had our desserts...lol Would definitely come back again, only issue was the tight road going into the camp.

Just got back from a very expensive week stay here which was quite enjoyable until our last night last night, the group of people we was there with was on a 2p machine when the glass front was loose, kids spot this and raided the 2ps I reported it to the guy at the over priced ticket shop and waited by the broken machine until he arrived where he explained to me that there was a screw missing from the bracket and that it needed to be replaced. We then walked of out and later on I returned to go to the club (which was a 20 minute walk from the caravan) but was barred from entering. I was told by security that we wasn’t allowed access to the complex. I tried to explain what had happened but was told nothing could do apart from speak to management the following day. Disappointed and upset kids we left and as advised spoke to a lady on reception when handing key in what had happened which she did apologise and admitted that we shouldn’t of been refused entry and would talk to her manager and for them to contact me. We get home and no phone call to me but the other party that was with us have received a phone call and instead of an apology they lied about the broken machine and said the teenagers had purposely broken it. It was seen on cctv however they wouldn’t show this to us. The teenagers was trying to put the glass back up so it didn’t fall and injure any children. They waited for us to leave to tell us this though instead of dealing with this situation as it happened. Disgusting. If that had been our first night I’d of packed up and left and took the matter further. Also they use to have a soft play area that is still advertised on their map but is no longer there. Whilst swimming pool was ok the life guards like sound of their own voice so unless you just stayed still you was getting shouted at. We won’t be returning here.

Great location. Haven't used any of the facilities on site, so I can't comment . But the caravan we hired is superb. There are plenty of shops within a 10-minute walk, so yeah great

We went last year and was disappointed and we spent most of our time off sight. However we decided to try again this year and it was so much better. The kids really enjoyed it and we are booking again for next year! Only down side is no shop on the actual site, just a small one at the end of the drive which was inconvenient. But overall we had a great holiday. Clean caravan, delicious food on site, entertainment team were brilliant (which was the kids favourite thing of the whole holiday) See you all next August 😁

I've been here around 7 times over the years that I remember. However my sister came back with coronavirus from here it was very packed over the school holidays. So this was a risk but more deep cleaning or any cleaning would of been beneficial. However every time I've been it's been lovely and being so close to the beach and the town its very handy.

Had a great time here. It is near the beach. The caravan we stayed at is very close to the beach. Paid extra for our dog. Nearby shop is Asda, a good 15-minute walk. There’s a retail park too, almost 30-minute walk. There are two fairs nearby. Kids loved the indoor pool and arcade. Our caravan got all we need except for pot holder, had to use my beach towel.

Booked and paid for a luxury 8 berth but was put in a6 berth basic and no refund offered. They were reluctant to provide towels and toil roll is rationed. Right outside bedroom window was all the bins . Opposite the club house which was really noisy and with people emptying their rubbish and cars running we never got to sleep till at least 2am. We came home a day early as enough was enough.staff were t bothered

Spent 3 nights 4 days on this site. The site and caravan was lovely and clean, driving on and off site was a bit of a nuisance with the limit access and very tight bend. I am contacting golden sands directly as we were charged £105 registration fee even though we weren't using the facilities and staff were told this. The owner said we shouldn't have paid anything as we were not using anything, took a big chunk of our holiday money. They said the private renters know this so someone is giving out wrong information. Not happy with that and for this reason I wouldn't book again. Turned out to be a very expensive holiday. Wouldn't book on this site again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Arrived today to a glorious very clean caravan, unfortunately the caravan we are stopping in is next to 2 caravans which have kids in who are running around like loons and can hear and feel the vibration of this, it sounds like they running on the roof and it’s not the seagulls, Hopefully after 9pm they will have stopped and be quiet. Went to the on site chippy after hearing good feedback but unfortunately the info received was poor as the fish was really greasy and had to soak the oil off the fish before eating. The chips tasted and looked like they were the night before chip and just warmed up. Big 10/10 to the staff who delivered extra items to caravan very quick.

Site definitely needs better signage, took a long to locate, no human contact at all, beds not made up because of COVID really!!!! Van could have definitely been a lot clearer. But close to the beach.

The caravan experience was awesome but I had to pay a registration fee of £165 for nothing. Even though we booked the caravan for 2 nights, we didn't use the facility of golden sands - swimming pool, children's park, pub, restaurant or game station. We used the caravan only during the nights, as we were touring during the day. So the amount we paid was for nothing. We tried to book the swimming pool for 4pm when we were told that the amount was non-refundable, but when we went to the swimming pool after our tour in Llangollen, we missed the slot and we were not given any alternative. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience after wasting £165.

All I can say is wow. The team here work incredibly hard to give you a wonderful experience whilst you are here. They are even so welcoming to your pet. You can take your pooch into the club/arcade on site whilst you enjoy a beverage or 2 your dog will be given a bowl of fresh water and even a little treat. 😉 This has been an out of this world holiday, and we don't want to leave. We want to thank the staff for their dedication to making your stay a magical one. And the lovely card and bottle of prosecco for our 16 wedding anniversary. Thank you team. 😊

first thing is couldn't find the entrance at all very hard to see! After a five hour journey check was quick ,couldn't park near caravan so that was hard work to sort out your stuff, food was great would defo recommend get what you pay for , !went summer July , staying in a saver caravan could do with a full size fridge as we stayed for a week the freezer was a box couldn't fit a bag of chips in! , as they was five of us , so if wanted to cook had to go shopping all the time small Tesco down the road got a good price with hoseasons ,only thing was the swimming pool very strict 45 min only, entertainment was ok , but the drinks are very expensive

Our accommodation was OK, most of the staff seemed friendly, though the odd one seemed like they would rather be elsewhere.. Local area a bit scruffy and the walk along the sea front was full of doggy parcels. Pool was OK but a bit small. Restaurant was OK but food took a long time to arrive so the kids got restless. Overall the kids enjoyed it but it was all just a bit rough around the edges, but I suppose that's Towyn for you!

Nice clean and well kept holiday park, caravan was lovely and clean on arrival and staff were very welcoming. Beach is just through a gate at the back of the camp. Nice clean pool and a good sized park. The club in an evening can get quite full so best to go in a little early to make sure you get a seat for the evening entertainment.

  • 2/5 Chris F. 1 year ago on Google
Not best park ever been to. Entrance is extremely tight to get into. Park is just concrete doesn't seem to be much in the way of any green areas as caravans are tightly packed in. Drinks are extremely expensive £7.20 for a 250ml wine. Why does there always seem to be a need to rip off customers?? On a positive side the lodge we stayed at was lovely and the site is clean and tidy (although Rhyl itself did have a fair bit of litter and road was constantly jammed obviously not the parks fault but it gives you a poor first impression of the area)

  • 5/5 jackee h. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely clean park . We booked via the sun and had a basic caravan, it was spotless very spacious and had everything you need except a bin in the kitchen. All the staff on site were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and we will be back next year.

I really enjoyed this 1 week break. I was with my relatives I don't get to see often. The site was peaceful, the entertainment was ok, the restaurant was serving good food. There were other facilities on the site. All you could need really. One thing that was missing, was a shop actually on site. There was a convenience store just off site though. Local transport was frequent and close by. I would stay here again. Our particular caravan was well equipped, and warm, but my back found the beds and seating way too soft. I was glad to come home for only that reason.

We stayed for three nights at a caravan near the beach entrance. Generally a bit tired in places but great location. It was a bit of a pain to get into the park due to a very tight corner. The staff and kids entertainers are all lovely. Food a bit slow and expensive in the restaurant but tasty. Arcade is a good size, probably the most extortionate for ticket prizes I've seen though. 150 for a bouncy ball is a bit outrageous. The pool is a reasonable size and nice to be quite quiet but is very difficult to book. You have to call at 9am the day before you want to swim to book a 45 minute slot and there was only one lady manning the phone and serving in the pool, constantly engaged. We managed a swim on two of the days. Bingo is excellent and watched the pantomime, our 6, 3 and 2 year olds loved it. Overall nice park, excellent beach, good location for Rhyl and surrounding areas and friendly staff. We would stay again.

So I took 3 of my grandchildren to Derv's caravan on Golden Sands site, they range from 6 to 11 years old. We found the caravan marvelous, spotlessly cleaned and fully equipped with everything you needed and the site was lovely, well kept, clean, tidy and clubhouse/pool and arcade and laundry facilities were all as new. We had a fantastic time, would definitely recommend and will be returning soon

  • 4/5 Helen C. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing location right on the seafront. As cyclists we were delighted to be able to ride all the way to Llandudno from just outside our accomodation. Extremely hard to find the park though, as signage is almost invisible from the road. Look right just before the bridge by the convenience store and you will see the entrance. A hidden gem. We stayed in a chalet. Well presented, although the bathroom is rather small with a tiny sink. Neighbour's tv is mounted on the other side of the bedroom wall so we were woken by that. Perhaps the park might consider having it free standing to eliminate this. Having said that, it is well appointed, parking right outside. A nice bench outside too. Very pleased and will definitely come again. No, we were not paid to write this. Helen
