Let it be known, THE BEST GOURMET BURGER IN New Jersey! Unfortunately Google only allows 5 stars..this place should have more. The food is phenomenal and the drinks are always on point. This is a place you can order the entire menu and love every dish.

I am pretty sure this place is one of my favorite restaurants on earth. I’ve traveled the world and have eaten many types of cuisine. The menu is constantly changing and the food is TOP NOTCH! Also the service is excellent! Tonight we had the sun chokes, veal and steak! All 3 dishes were mind blowing! Our desert was toffee pudding and I have no words! I’m obsessed.

What to say about The Grand Tavern? Right from out front the place tells you all you need to know - it’s unfussy but bold. This continues throughout your experience. It is so hard to get the line right between amazing food, fantastic service and unfussy, unpretentious dining. But Grand Tavern manage it every time. The signature cocktail for the night - the Dove 4.0 is tequila, agave, crème de Violeta and some lime. It’s bold, uncomplicated and delicious. Getting it yet? The rigatoni with clams and shrimps is a meal in itself. The ricotta drenched in sweet dressing and served on toast is like a pre-desert. The scallops are so soft it’s like they’re made of butter. The burger, medium rare is rich, punchy with the sauce and pickles, and balanced by the smothered cheese and the skin-on fries. And desert is a deconstructed key lime pie. I’ll let you guess how good it was. Service is exceptional, the prices are just the right side of pricey, but still expensive - entrees are between $25-$45, but you’re paying for the best food, drinks and atmosphere in the area. An absolute five star experience. Things to know: the menu is online only, so no paper is wasted - its on their website. Kids are welcome, but bring your own high chair and food- they can’t heat it for you.

This is a nice small restaurant with really cool vibes, great drinks menu and great staff. However, it misses the culinary mark on catering to vegetarians and vegan. There was not a single vegetarian item in Main entree. The choice as vegetarian is cheese filled pasta that was an appetizer just double portion, I would expect more from restaurant that is trying to be different. Vegetarian modern cuisine is an art to bring fresh flavors from local produce and create interesting textures with international flavors. Would love to return here if they catered to the segment that they left - vegetarian and vegan.

Always an amazing meal. Been coming for years. Menu changes every month or so. Staff are top notch but the food is in my opinion the best in NJ.

Very expensive place -- food was.decent but i have never been to a place where the staff and management - including server and bartender -- were less accommodating and more rude. They also.did not respond to a personal message.. The food is good on their limited menu and it is fair not to agree to customize requests in this time of short staffing but for goodness sake be professional and nice about it.

Staff were fantastic. The food was delicious, I got the scallops and the OH got the burger. I wish they had some vegetarian options for the entrees. A little pricey hence the knock off a star but worth trying.

Hipster vibe. One of the best restaurants in this area. Food is excellent. Tiny restaurant. Great service. Professional attentive staff. Menu constantly updates from week to week. The menu changes keep you coming back.

Great place to have a great meal. Have been in a few times for dinner and the service, food, and drink have been top notch. The food is elevated without being stuffy. Paired with a great cocktail menu, it makes for a great experience. Space is cozy, but you're not on top of other guests. The team is very attentive and super nice. Look forward to coming back again soon.

The food is delicious & service was good! Prices are high, we were a party of 5 no drinks 3 burgers 2 meals bill was $240. Just be mindful that the music they have playing is a little loud. We had to raise our voices a loud and lean towards each other to have a conversation amongst family and friends. So if you’re trying to spend some quality time with family around the table, it may not be the restaurant for you.

I remember having a great meal here a while back, so when my friend suggested coming I went. Boy was I surprised by how bad it became. We ordered 4 appetizers and 3 entrees, and everything was so salty I thought I would gag. Scallops seared too heavy on one side, other side raw, burger was so salty I thought my bp went to 250/150. The only decent food was the mussels and the buffalo mushroom appetizer. The salmon tartare was fishy and old. I just cannot believe I wasted any money on this place. Music so loud we couldn't hear ourselves speak. 0/10. I didn't complaint because I did not want to hurt my friend's feelings, but I will never return.

Food was amazing! Love the cozy/vintage/rustic vibe of the restaurant. All staff were wonderful. Definitely a higher price point but the food was incredible. If you've been thinking about going here, definitely give it a try!

The Grand Tavern might be my new favorite. Everything from the ambiance, the exotic drink menu, the food quality and the service was just beyond words. We had the Dove cocktail which was super refreshing and the eggplant and goat cheese appetizer which was off the charts. My husband and I just kept saying OMG... as we ate it. We both had the scallops for dinner which was phenomenal. Lastly, I had a delicious espresso martini and even better key lime pie for dessert . Normally we chit chat away as we share a business together and 2 kids so we have a lot to talk about but all we did was remark about the incredible food and admire the staff who worked in synchronicity to give the entire restaurant the best vibe. I will be going back very soon!

Amazing cocktails, great vibe, really cool bartender and kitchen staff working right in front of you. The food is out of this world delicious. Best kept secret in the area no doubt.

Food was well done, and thoughtfully put together. The sautéed shrimp appetizer was spicy and savory and the drinks were very good. Service made it a bad experience, unfortunately. For the reputation and prices, you shouldn’t receive better service at dive bars. Our group was the last one of the night, and while we certainly lingered, it was poorly handled by the waitstaff that was clearly begging to get home and very much wanted us to feel sorry for them for their time as we prepared to tip the staff and head home. There’s just a certain way to host people, and Grand Tavern didn’t grasp that tonight. Would not go back due to the price gouging : guilty looks ratio.

Cozy little local place with excellent food(the burger is amazing!), interesting cocktails and energetic music. Eating is easy, chatting not so much but with food this good who cares. Go!

You want high quality food, attentive service and top notch mixologist concoctions? Then The Grand Tavern is the place for you. Menu is perfect, Gem salad is the way to go for starters. Can’t go wrong with any of the entrees, burgers are super. Fries are hands down the best around, hand cut, perfectly fried and seasoned. Don’t be afraid to try one of their specialty cocktails or if you’re a a creature of habit like me, their Bourbon Old Fashioned or Manhattan is crafted perfectly.

My wife and I had a great experience here. The food was phenomenal from the salad to the dessert and coffee we had. We can’t wait to go back! I feel like 5 stars isn’t enough!

We have a house nearby and love the vibe and the care and quality of the preparations. Cocktails are excellent. The appetizers are superb. Staff is generally super. The last two times however we were puzzled by the portion size on certain entrees which was frankly ridiculous. Way larger than they needed to be, hard to navigate … and I’m not sure why?

It’s amazing food, great drinks and awesome service. Only giving 4 stars for sneaking a credit card surcharge that wasn’t disclose and is not posted on their website. Just tell people about the surcharges before charging them.

This is my favorite date night dinner location! I refer all of my out of town friends to The Grand Tavern. I have been about 10 times and I have always had a 10/10 experience. The staff in each of my visits has been friendly/unpretentious/attentive and every aspect of my meal is amazing. I rarely order mixed drinks when I go out, because I feel that they make them overly sweet, but I always order mixed drinks when I visit the Grand Tavern because they are always perfect balanced and refreshing in every way. I secretly hope they bring the Johnny Knoxville back. The menu is limited, but its so that they can better control the freshness and seasonality of their ingredients. I love trying something new and I have loved everything I have ever tried at the Grand Tavern.

I do not have enough good things to say about this restaurant. Been here multiple times and the food is always phenomenal. The asparagus with goat cheese app is *chefs kiss*. This past time I also had the salmon with the ramp risotto and it was amazing! The cocktails are also delicious! It’s a smaller restaurant so you’ll need a reservation - especially in the summer. Service is 10/10 as well.

There were high expectations of this place and it certainly lived up to the hype. Food is excellent. A little pricey but worth it. We got the beef bouillon special and it was to die for. Lol. Would definitely go back.
