We went to the Black Swan for an early dinner and by the time we left, it was pretty crowded and you could tell people really enjoy it here. It was nice and cozy inside with an interesting history and a vault that was left over from when this was a bank that was converted to a private room for dining. Our server, Tyler, was very nice and friendly. I'm a Vegetarian and there were a limited number of items to choose from on the menu, but I did get the Gardener’s Pie. It was a very nice presentation and hot, but I’m not a fan of curry and got it anyway, but I know someone who likes curry would enjoy the Gardener’s Pie. My friend got the Prime Rib and enjoyed the meal.

First time here and was very surprised. We had been by but never really knew what this place was. It is an excellent pub with a lot of seating and some really nice decor and atmosphere. The staff are very nice and welcoming and I found it very cool how they utilized the old bank vault in the back as additional seating area with a different vibe. The drinks were good. There was a lot of drink and it had a lot of good flavor. They are unique and actually very good! The food was also good. Its not a Michelin star restaurant, but it works and is cooked well. The menu is pretty good for anyone looking for a quick snack or even a nice meal. I highly recommend checking this place out!

I went here for my birthday. I tried the Pimm cocktail, which was very good and tastes like peach iced tea. My dining partner had a beer on tap. For dinner, I had the shepherd's pie, which was truly delicious. My dining partner had the burger, which had an interesting sauce on it that was very good. We were seated in the front of the restaurant facing the street, and we liked the bird theme. I want to go back again for happy hour.

The Black Swan was fantastic! We hosted my daughter's engagement celebration here, and I cannot say enough about the food and the staff, super professional attentive and accommodating. It is a beautiful atmospher, and we enjoyed the tea room for our event. Very private and pretty.

We had a great experience here! I loved the scotch eggs and the vegan dumplings and the drinks were delicious too! The soup and burger were also so good. Our waiter was very attentive and overall, we had a great time. Also, the interior design in this space was so well thought out and was beautiful!

I made a reservation for noon and the hostess was very nice and led me to my table. The whole floral theme is pretty cool. I started off with BACON CHEDDAR TOTS which was very good the sour creme dip that came with it was bit hard like it was froze still other that it was good. My main course was the black swan buger with beer battered onion rings. That was also good the bun and toppings were fresh and the burger tasted good and was still juicy. Overall it was very good. My only gripe was the website says they open at 11 a.m. but that's not right they actually open at noon on Saturday. But that can be fixed it seems that the staff is aware that the website is wrong

Nice new restaurant on the Asbury Park "strip" aka Cookman Ave. I enjoyed my salmon with fingerling potatoes and leek. Great outdoor seating catching the afternoon sun. Friendly and efficient service.

Had a great experience from Start to Finish for a perfect set down lunch. The food was very good as well as the service. We ordered a wide variety of food from the menu and it did not disappoint. Would go back again when in Asbury Park.

I'm so happy we discovered this place, the good was so good and the service was great. The brunch menu is different than the typical breakfast spots and truly enjoyable. Definitely worth going to.

Beautiful restaurant. The drink menu has great choices. The food menu is small. We ordered at 6:15 an hour later still no food at the table. Our server was great and keep going back to the kitchen to check. My burger was delicious as was the fish and chips. But only one piece of fish. The 2 cesear salads with chicken had very dry chicken. The atmosphere was excellent but the kitchen needs some help.

Great food (taste + presentation). Friendly staff, though we had to wait almost double our quoted time and you could tell they were understaffed / stressed. Great atmosphere in general, though a bit loud. I hope they are able to strike a balance over time between a "sports pub" and a place with $30+ entrees. Don't be tempted to turn into another Asbury Ale House and you'll do fine!

The Black Swan is one of Asbury Park's best restaurants. I was so very impressed with everything here. The atmosphere and decor is great. You are transported to a magical garden where the outside world ceases to exist allowing you to delve completely in your dining experience. The drinks taste great and look even better. I can't stress enough how important of an impact a beautiful drink has. And the food is fantastic. As an appetizer we shared the baked brie, which was yummy. For lunch I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was to die for. The velvety sauce was flavored with warm spices. The chicken was cooked perfect. It was juicy and rich. Just a great meal overall. I would definitely go back.

Pros: This place has outstanding food I absolutely enjoyed my time here with friends. My shrimp scampi was amazing it’s a must when I revisit. Our waitress was amazing she did such an amazing job at catering to us. Cons: The employees clean the tables while you’re eating but in an invasive way. They reach over your food and attempt to take plates prior to asking. This is something Black Swan should work on. Must Have: Ask for the “Flight Mimosas “ that’s 3 drinks that I’m certain they serve during brunch hours it’s about $20. Each glass has its own flavor with pineapple, guava, and orange juice.

The interior design is absolutely stunning! Absolutely recommend just for the atmosphere/ambiance. In terms of the food, we got the burger and the lamb with rice. We definitely 100% recommend the burger, my boyfriend was craving that even the next day. The lamb and rice was a bit disappointing. The sauce that was along with the rice didn’t really fit, it just seemed a little strong, however the lamb was beautifully cooked.

Our office had our post holiday celebration here on a Thursday evening. The place was hoping! Everyone loved their entrées the wait staff was excellent. Our waiter Jacob was very personable and fun. He gave us great insight to the specials and menu. They did not rush us at all. For those who order from the bar, the specialty cocktails were delicious. It was a English/Irish type pub food restaurant, the food was very rich and delicious. I would go back again.

First time at Black Swan today. Staff was excellent. Our server Carlye D was great, as was our food. The rest of the staff was very pleasant as well. Chicken Tikka was on point. Fish and Chips were fresh and not greasy. Shepherds Pie was also very good.

Atmosphere! Great food! Friendly and happy staff! Loved it! Late afternoon Sunday dinner, baked brie, Caesar salad and wedge salad appetizers shared...so good! Chicken cordon blue, and house burgers for dinner...Best burger I've had yet!! Flourless chocolate cake, so decadent, and apple tart/pie both with ice cream for dessert...amazing! Great night!

So overall I really liked the vibe of this place. The service was great, we had an awesome waitress named Kady who could not have been more attentive and friendly. The appetizers were good, my meal was satisfactory, but my boyfriends meal was somewhat inexcusable. He got the 12 ounce prime rib ( a dish that is about $40 ) and it was extremely undercooked, almost raw. He sent it back and again it was brought back still grossly undercooked (he originally asked for it to be cooked medium). Our waitress was super nice about it, but for a meal that expensive you expect it to be cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ended up bringing it home and cooking it/ seasoning it himself. Very unfortunate because it was his birthday dinner, we spent a lot of money, and still had to cook ourselves at home. I probably would come back here, but i’d never order a steak.

Whether you want a quick drink at the bar, appetizers in a bank vault (which sounds weird, but is really cool), or a full romantic dinner, this place fits the bill. The food sounds basic, but is definitely not. The drinks are expertly crafted, and the atmosphere is unmatched.

This place is absolutely delightful. Ate here with the fam and we were all very happy. The drinky drinks were tasty and the food was 100% proper. Twas a busy Saturday night and the staff had it handled. Didn’t even break a sweat. Our food came out quickly and perfect. I ordered a burger, medium, as it should be, And that’s exactly how it was cooked. Most places seem to just do whatever they feel like. Fries were piping hot and crispy. Perfection. Our waiter was a total professional, and artist of his craft. Noticed we needed ketchup and brought it before we even asked. He also didn’t ask us 100 times how we were doing. Deep down…he knew we were loving it. Looking forward to coming back and trying the rest. Love you black swan <3

We came here for Mother’s Day. The decor is absolutely beautiful, however the food could not compare! The cocktails were amazing. We had the lollipop chicken , it was nothing special in fact it was soggy and just your regular sweet Buffalo glaze. The shrimp wrapped in bacon wasn’t worth the money, just 3 small pieces of shrimp with half a slice of bacon on each fried. The wedge salad was probably my the best part. We ordered the tater tots because I was still hungry from not eating the rest of the food we ordered. Those were good just your normal tatters in a larger size. I wouldn’t say this a twist on any European style foods. It’s poorly made , probably most things are frozen. Better off going to the Frog and the Peach if you like decor , great cocktails and amazing food.

My bf and I stopped in today after hearing about the opening of a new restaurant/bar in Asbury so we checked it out. Me and him BOTH agreed it was the best food we ever had… yes, really. We ordered the baked brie, vegan potstickers, and bacon tater tots for apps. All were outstanding. Our burgers were even better and my boyfriend said “this is the best burger I have EVER had.” So not only was the ambiance gorgeous with a “old time” Irish/British Pub feel, but you can tell the chef is putting a lot of effort into the quality of food being served. We were both blown away. Don’t be afraid of the small menu, because most likely anything you get will be awesome. We will be back.

Memorable Wedding Rehearsal dinner at The Black Swan We recently hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for 42 guests and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Working with Jordan, the manager, who helped with all the details, along with all the food & drink selections, was absolutely spot on. The service and the food selection (chicken cordon bleu, chicken tikka masala, pan seared salmon, Caesar salad, assorted desserts) were incredible. Chef Avery even greeted us at the end of this memorable night to make sure everyone had a fabulous time. Nice touch. Thank you to everyone involved at The Black Swan for starting our wedding weekend off with great vibes.

Fantastic place and great ambiance. The food is excellent. Service was good. We had the potstickers for app, which were very tasty. Main dishes were the Chicken Tikka Masala and the original Shepards Pie...OMG....the chicken was so tender and had unbelievable flavor. As for the Shepards Pie, this had such a home feeling. We got the chips as a side, well the chips were fried absolutely perfect, crunchy with a soft potato inside. To die for. Really good food for the price. Loved it....the drink my wife had was fantastic as well. She had Reds Redemption. PSA- You can eat in a Bank Safe....OMG. just drinks and apps, but that is all you need.

I would not recommend this place. We were seated by the hostess outside and waited for waiter to come and take our orders for more than 20 minutes. One waiter came out and served one table and went to next table and talked to them for more than 10 min after that he went back inside ignoring us , and the same time the same hostess seated company of 4 at another table in not even 5 min another waiter comes out and goes to their table with water, glasses and goes back inside and ignores us the same as the other waiter. We left the place thinking they don’t want our business, which was very disappointing. My husband went inside just to let them know they lost their costumers. I think the name Black Swan really fits the place SURPRISE ( but in the negative way).I would not even give one star, but there is no option for 0.

Amazing shepherds pie by Chef James Avery’s staff. Loved the mixed flavors of the peas, beef, and mashed potatoes. One recommendation would be to have a side of fries or something to help compliment the shepherds pie. Other than that it was phenomenal.

We were in Asbury Park visiting the Paranormal Museum and needed a place to eat. We saw Black Swan while finding a place to park so wanted to check it out. We saw Scottish eggs on the menu and decided we needed to try them. The decor is nice - a bit of pub with touches of elegance. It's dark, and it's loud, but it adds to the experience. The servers were friendly and accommodating. Needless to say, we ordered the Scottish eggs and we were definitely pleased with them! They were cooked perfect. The yolk was runny and they were the best we've had from a restaurant. It's rare to see them in a menu, let alone cooked well. The potato bites were great also. The French onion soup was also tasty. We got the burgers for our entrees and they were really good. Nice flavor, cooked as we requested. I am really glad we stopped in this trip and will probably make it our go-to when we're in the area.

The tea room is our favorite! We finally made it to the Black Swan Public House and the experience was fantastic. Our server was very professional, knowledgeable, and guided us through the best cocktails and food pairing. Food: We had the bacon cheddar tots, prawns, hummus platter, vegan potstickers, the burger, and french onion soup...all delicious! Cocktails: We had the Nineteen Martini, Hemingway Daiquiri, Cosmopolitan, and Bellini...all delicious! We can't wait to be back!
