We have always loved Governors! Good old-fashioned comfort food. Turkey dinner, meatloaf, fisherman’s platter, yummy soups and chowders. A great bakery serving their famous whoopie pies, homemade rolls and cakes, pies and brownies. We would stop here on our road trips between PEI, Canada and NJ, until COVID cut back on these road trips. We rectified that tonight. My husband ordered a club sandwich and I ordered their broccoli cheddar soup. Yum!!! Stop by. Try everything!

The food was great, and the service was awesome. We ordered off the menu, but they have a breakfast buffet every weekend that we wish we had looked at before ordering. It was fresh, and there were plenty of choices. We will be going back soon to try the buffet.

Very nice restaurant. Staff was excellent. My husband enjoyed his lobster roll and it was his first time trying lobster bisque and he loved it. Said it was the perfect temperature. I had the hot turkey, dressing and fries with gravy. It was good. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. We would return if ever in the area again.

Great comfort food and as always, our trip to Maine wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Governor’s Restaurant and Bakery! Check out their daily specials and don’t be afraid to try the lobster roll, you won’t be disappointed. Bring the kids, they will love watching the train makes its way around the restaurant.

Ever since, Mr. W handed the business over to his son Randy, things were never the same. The quality went down, but the prices went up. More items are made out of house than before and you can tell. I know my parents would never have paid $56 for a breakfast for 3 which is what i paid and i got a kids breakfast! This was always supposed to be an affordable family restaurant. Mr. W would be so disappointed.Now that Randy has sold the OT business, let's see how long the governor stays governor's.

Governor's is simply delicious. If you are going for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just stopping by for an out of this world sized dessert. Their fried pickles are better than any place I have been to in North Carolina, and that's saying something! I have personally seen the "Federal Deficit" and just know you should bring lots of people with you if you choose to dive into it!

I had the breakfast buffet, and the food was delicious. There were so many options I couldn't get to them all before I was full. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. I would recommend anyone going to eat there, because of the staff and the welcoming atmosphere.

We have eaten there twice now, breakfast and lunch, and both times we have had very good experiences. The staff have been friendly and stayed on top drinks and overall service. The food portions were generous, and everything we have tried has tasted great. Fact is, we have been so full we did not get a chance to try any of the lovely desserts.
